He seems like a very honest and kind person to work with. He explained that I'm better off hiring a contractor to fix the actual shower base and threshold. He also took time to review other issues that I am concerned with, regarding the plumbing work done in that particular bathroom, and he behaved in a very patient and kind manner looking carefully at each area of concern. I wish I had met him when I first did this renovation! But at least now I can tell that he is a guy worth connecting my friends and neighbors to if one ever needs to hire a competent and honest plumber.

Parkset came in with a very reasonable bid. The work was done quickly, with great quality and communication. It was such a good experience, I called them back for a couple more projects.

Those I know are really long lasting" he said it will eventually erode, I said but it's not right now..he kept pressing that, that was part of the problem. I don't think it was since clearly the hole was but whatever, annoyed about that. I was charged $550. After he left I noticed it was still leaking and NOW it was clogging! I called them again the next day and informed the boss Tom, he sent over Kenny again this time with a partner, I forgot his name but he was much younger, more friendly, he also seemed more knowledgeable because he right away was pointing out things and I can see instantly he didn't like that and it made Kenny looked bad. Kenny changed the pipes and drain again and kept ordering the younger guy, but when we saw it was leaking again, the younger assistant asked if he can see the area, try something Kenny ignored him and didn't let him do anything but fetch tools for him and the assistant kept asking to see, I got annoyed and said "WILL YOU LET HIM LOOK?" like curb your ego dude! So the younger guy said what could be the issue and Kenny refused to acknowledge it and somehow managed to stop it by changing the drain and pipe again, he said the boss has to charge me for the new drain that he put in, that was weird to me since he didn't fix what he initially came to do the first day but whatever I wanted him done and out already. So an $225 and the next day LEAKING AGAIN! I called the boss and told him how upset I was after paying $800 total my BRASS drain and pipe removed (which I think was taken for themselves) it STILL hasn't been fixed and I was totally pissed and not satisfied. I asked how long has Kenny worked for them because the guy doesn't know what he's doing clearly and he's got an ego & wouldn't allow the young assistant to have a look at it, despite pointing out the issues. Tom was a little snippy when he should have taken accountability for charging so much for shi*tty work & sending over an incompetent person who should have retired honestly. It finally was fixed for good, when I demanded for someone else and NOT be charged a 3rd time!!

I shared approved Dept of Buildings plans and supervisor came out for a walk-through and verbally quoted me $20,000, saying as he left he'd write the detailed proposal based on his $20,000 verbal quote. However, when he emailed his proposal the price shot up 92.3% to $38,460.00! I emailed back to get justification, but never received a response to the exorbitant markup from the verbalized quote at my house. I wanted to know why Harris would not honor the $20,00 I was quoted during the site visit? I have been a repeat client of this business paying $1000s at each of their visits to do my plumbing work, and was told that because of this fact, I'd get a slight discount on my renovation proposal for the plumbing aspect. But a 92.3% markup from original quote of $20,000 is extortion, fraud and just bad business practice to say the very least! I found out also that they don't come out and tell you that they charge a discharge/service fee to come out, but $150/per hour of travel time is quietly--not disclosed to customer--added to their bills, yet never disclosed to you upfront. They were coming from the office location in Brownsville and I'm all the way down south on Avenue Z in Sheepshead Bay and they must take the side streets to get to me because commercial vehicles are not permitted on the Belt Parkway. I will stop being a repeat loyal customer to Harris Plumbing and Heating and will not refer them to anyone else ever again. I'll be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau also. Good riddance Harris Plumbing and Heating!

The signed contract required a $2,000 "startup payment," which we paid, and included filing the required LAA with the NYC Dept. of Buildings, which he confirmed in writing would be filed within five business days. Twenty-nine days later, the LAA was never filed. Instead, after a site visit, he sent new contracts nearly tripling the price - then claimed the new price was "in addition to" the signed contract, and finally claimed our $2,000 startup payment was actually a "site visit fee," something that appears nowhere in any document he wrote. We terminated for non-performance and demanded the refund; as of this review it has not been returned. Every claim in this review is supported by the signed contract, payment records, and his own emails. Homeowners in urgent situations: get every commitment in writing and watch for re-pricing after the deposit.
