Stopped by Doft & Duft Flowers today and had a really great experience. Kurtis, the owner, is incredibly friendly and took the time to chat, explain the meaning behind the shop's name, and genuinely get to know his customers. "Doft" (Swedish) and "Duft" (German) both mean scent or fragrance, which is a thoughtful and fitting name for a flower shop.
The store is beautifully set up and offers much more than just fresh flowers. There's a wide variety of items--cacti and plants, dried flowers, crochet and felt flowers, unique pots and planters, Lego flower kits, lavender bundles, chocolates, and Canadian-made products. I especially appreciated the beeswax candles and his focus on supporting items made in Canada.
I ended up getting an orchid at an excellent price--honestly, something like this would easily be double or even triple the price at other shops. I also picked up a few cacti in nice containers and a really practical microfibre glove for cleaning plant leaves.
What really stood out is how gift-ready everything is. He has small teddy bear bouquets and other items already put together, which makes this a perfect spot for gifts, plant lovers, or even last-minute shopping.
Right now, he's clearing out some older stock, so there are some great deals. He's also running a draw for Bruno Mars tickets, which is a fun bonus.
The location is convenient--close to Granville Street SkyTrain station, which made it easy to get to.
Highly recommend--this is the kind of personal, thoughtfully curated shop that's worth supporting. read more
