While the bagels are very good, everything else about this place is lacking. First of all it's very dirty inside. My last time there I found 2 hairs in the cream cheese in my bagel. I lost my appetite and had to throw the rest out. The entire place looks run down and neglected. On top of all that it was probably the most expensive bagel I've ever bought. Yes five stars for my go to bagel place. They make fantastic bagels and their sandwiches are great. Boars head cold cuts and salads here and no skimping. The staff are friendly and personable. The coffee is always hot fresh and very good. Plenty of parking and there's a couple tables if you want to eat in. Hey they bike trail goes right behind this place how can you not stop for a cold drink breakfast or lunch. Try not to love this place! It's a true gem. We didn't tempt the tuna again, but lox cream cheese and regular cream cheese was good. Two hours to get bagels, cream cheese, tuna salad and drinks. This is my third delivery from D'Alessio's and it's definitely about time for me to show my appreciation with the glowing review you're about to read. Growing up in Brooklyn, and now living in Red Bank (where I have a host of bagel stores to choose from) I have to say, these bagels are the REAL DEAL. Totally authentic! They are big, flavorful and have the perfect texture of a genuine bagel. During other times, D'Alessio's was not in my path of progress. But with the pandemic at hand, we've not been to a store for months and these deliveries of fresh bagels and cold cuts have been a godsend. I place my order the night before and first thing in the AM, my order appears. Plus, the owner never fails to call me personally if he has to make a small change or to ask me about something. Listen, the bagels and food here are great but I was very concerned to notice that none of the employees preparing food were wearing masks at this establishment. Bagels are very good and the service is quick and excellent. I like that they have added more of a deli and their sandwiches are very good but I do wish there was more of a selection bagel wise. Overall pretty good. Great pork roll egg and cheese, but don't get it with the hash brown- I tried thinking it'd be a nice crispy addition, and it was a soggy let down. Bagels are good, but sometimes they mess up making them and will tell you to pick something different (why are they even in the baskets in the front then?). Don't recommend their cream cheese- it was tasteless and runny from being super warm. I went in this morning for a bagel with cream cheese. The man behind the counter took my order, put the bagel on and then proceeded to slice a bunch of meat. Wiped his hands on a paper towel, touched meat again, and then put on one glove to handle my bagel. I even made a comment about the gloves because I don't eat meat. He didn't touch the bagel with that hand, but the paper that wrapped it, the napkins, the knife used, and the bag. Literally could see the meat on his hands. May be a great bagel and he may be an awesome man, but to me, cleanliness between orders should be real. Will not go back. Sorry. Either wear two gloves or wash your hands between helping people. Probably the best bagel shop/deli I've ever been to in my life, this is coming from a man who has grown up in the area and loves a good bagel sandwich. The fact is that no matter what type of sandwich you order, either breakfast or lunch, it's tremendous, and I don't only mean the amount of meat on the sandwich, the Boars Head products, as well as the homemade salads are out of this world! They have an amazing product, unique to D'Alessios known as a bagel wheel, which is essentially a 3 foot sub, just on an oversized bagel, and completely made to order, right down to the seeds on the bagel wheel itself. Staff is EXTREMELY courteous, helpful, and even entertaining at times. I do like to spend locally, however, I won't be spreading my money around town too much, because I'll be going to D'Alessio's exclusively for the foreseeable future! Not to mention that 15 BAGELS IS ALWAYS A DOZEN!!! P.S. Great family environment, I even saw the owner with his 10 year old son making bagels in the back. Bagels are okay, not great. I got an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and was slightly disappointed. The veggies were rather lacking in the cream cheese and the bagel was dry. My dad got a pork roll egg and cheese and that was pretty good. They have a ton of Boars Head deli meats so maybe sandwiches are a better bet.
