Worst customer service ever from the guy who is the cashier. Also don't understand how you say it needs to drive 500 miles after being fixed when most places say50-100. Car failed and when came back in 27 days they refused basically to run the test again just hooked it up to the code reader and just said it prob wouldn't pass and told me there was no point. Left and took it to another place and somehow it passed even though they said it wouldn't! Defiantelty scamming people that have older cars !!!! read more

The guy that does the actual smog check was not friendly at the start and seemed to have an issue when I gave him the coupon that I printed from their website. Then there was a second guy that takes care of payments and he gave me an attitude when I asked him if he got the coupon that the first guy took from me. Requested SMOG service. The price was $128. The mechanic looked at me as if I was an idiot, the guy at the front hates dogs. His mannerisms were extremely rude toward me and my tiny dog. I understand not all people are dog lovers. I also understand not all businesses accept dogs. I sat outside the building on a chair with my dog close to me for the duration of the SMOG check. When it was time to pay, the guy told me to leave my dog in the car, which I wasn't going to do. I went around the building to the front to pay but apparently I was at the wrong door. The guy rudely ordered me to the front door. Using a mean voice and grimacing face he told me to leave "that dog" outside. I stood in the doorway and said, "the dog is outside, how do you want to handle this?" He was very upset and told me to "just be quick" about paying. The SMOG check lasted about 30 minutes, I was the first in line when they opened. At first, he said it would take about 45 minutes for the machine to warm up before they could start the test. This wasn't the case. The mechanic started the SMOG check right away and there were no issues with the work. I will never go back to that establishment to give them my business. I went there two years earlier for SMOG, so I was a return customer. read more

I love this gas station and have been going here for 1.5 year since I moved to cypress. I love how close and cheap the gas is but today 9/1/22 while getting gas this morning. The clerk made a joke about my card declining as it had happened a few days ago. I don't not see what's funny about someone who works had, trying to get gas, and their card declining. That was beyond rude and insensitive. It was flat out disrespectful and embarrassing. He said it very loudly and in front of other customers. Can you say unprofessional? I would never treat my customers that way. Cypress Union gas just lost a frequent costumer. I took my older car here for smog test. It didn't pass, so he told me to have my mechanic check it/fix it and bring it back. Then he told me the retest isn't free. When I pointed out the sign, he said, "that's for 2000 and above". (Which is noted just by a smallish sized 2000 on the sign, which wasn't exactly clear what it meant.) My car was a '99. Anyway, I took it to the mechanic and he said there's nothing wrong with my car, but based on what he saw, the smog tester "has a heavy foot". So it appears as though he purposely made my car fail, because it was older and he could get more money if I retest there. Needless to say I took the car somewhere else - and it passed without any problem. I won't be returning to this place for another smog test. read more

Trying to use my bank debit card at the pump I was directed inside where upon asking the man counting the money why am I being directed inside to use the debit card. I always get gas here and the prices are the cheapest in this area (as far as I can tell). The gas pumps are always working and if a pump is broken it isn't long before it is fixed. The employees are friendly and there's never a huge line to get gas here. The pumps work very well when you use your card and the gas pumps quickly which I always appreciate.l when I'm in a rush. read more

One month ago I went to this station for a smog check. I asked how long the smog would take cause I had somewhere I needed to go after... so in response I was given super fast yet efficient service. I was honestly never more impressed and satisfied with a smog check. I have been to places that take forever and are not as efficient. My smog check was quick and passed the first go round. I really appreciate how the individual who did the smog kept telling me that he would handle me first, and get it done pronto since I had to be somewhere after the smog. Not sure if the guy is a crook or is just plain incompetent, but I won't go here again. Had a coupon, so I thought I'd try it out. Extra charge for a truck and extra charge for pre-1995. Okay, there goes my coupon savings. Anyways, the truck doesn't pass the EVAP test (leak in the fuel system). Well, it is an old truck, so I take it to a repair shop to get it fixed. They can't find any leak with their equipment, so I take it back to get it re-tested. NO FREE RETEST! Fine, I know there's no leak, so it should pass just without any problems. Nope, he says it still doesn't pass the EVAP test. Well, I wasn't about to waste any more money at this place, so I took it to another smog shop where they pointed out that my truck didn't even need an EVAP test, and if someone tried to do one, they were doing it incorrectly (pinching off the wrong hose!) So, I wasted my time and my money going to this place. Thinking about it now, I'd have to say that the guy is BOTH a crook and incompetent. read more

STAY AWAY! Went there with a coupon from Smog Ads indicating 34.00 + certificate which I knew I had to pay. Went there and a young hispanic girl who was very rude, proceeded to tell me that it was $10 extra for SUV'S. I was like " why" its the same probe and process, its not like a car wash. I was mad but I wasn't about to go looking around for another place. Luckily my SUV passed which it should have, If there was anyway that it was borderline, I somehow felt they would have made it fail. After it was done, the girl once again tells me its 53.00 and I giver her my ATM Debit card, after she processes it and I enter the PIN she tells me that there is an extra .50 charge for using a debit card, WTF? After I give her a look she sarcastically says don't worry, i'll give you back the .50 cents. Needless to say, I would not recommend going to this place. read more

Do not go to this place, if you're in your right mind. I got a smog check here because I was referred by a Goodyear dealer who had a coupon to offer. I got my smog check and got the report. They send the report directly to DMV to meet your smog requirement. The report is more than one page with a bunch of different "pass" and "not pass" line items... well apparently on the second page I didnt pass one criteria which was in tiny wrinting on one line, of this long two page result report. They didnt tell me I didn't pass!!!!! I paid and went on my happy way... It seems like a real basic thing for them to point out to you that YOU DIDNT PASS. But they simply handed the report to me and accepted my payment, and sent my Non-pass to the DMV. I don't know anyone who would actually read this report to see the non-pass line on the second page unless the shop happened to mention they didnt pass. A couple months later (it didn't occur to me I never received my registration sticker in the mail) I got a parking ticket for expired registration tags. Called the DMV to see what was up, and I was told I had paid my fees, but they held on to the tags due to non-pass of the smog test. They had the date the report was submitted, and the name of the gas station (Cypress Union) and said the report said I didn't pass. I took my car to the dealer to repair whatever was causing me to not pass and then I went back to Cypress Union and told the manager what happened and he seemed incredulous. He wouldn't redo the test for free, despite a huge sign in the front of the station that says "pass or retest for free" because it was beyond some time period (it was only 3 months later). I will never go to this place again and would encourage others to go somewhere else. The manager never apologized, and frankly didn't believe me...why would I make something like this up?? This is a horrible place to get propane filled, owner or attendant very rude , charges a minimum of 20.00 dollars for fill up even if it doesn't use 5 lbs. I go usually to 76 gas station on Beach Blvd. and Lampson in Stanton , it's worth the drive no minimum required and $ 2.79 per pound of propane.The attendant there very friendly and the sell lots of propane to their customers. I also placed a call to company that supplies them their propane and didn't seem happy with the information I provided them about this Gas Station, It might have new owners , prior to this would get gas their but now charging customers to use debt. card. I also saw a service technician moving customers work van into bay , The technician wasn't paying attention and shattered customers light right of his service van . read more

This place is also a gas station, and honestly when paying cash it's one of the best deals around, BUT the level of customer service is just awful. No one is ever inside waiting, you must always wait for someone to walk up to help you out. The machines outside to take your money and to pay with a card do not work, so you MUST always go inside. Their website says you get a FREE retest if you fail the smog test. My van failed the smog test because the OBD computer was not ready at the time of the check. My van has not been driven for 2 months so I took it on the road to drive it more as advised. When I returned for the retest, I showed them the free retest shown in their website but they do not want to honor it. The guys were friendly but they should honor what is advertised in their website. If you can't honor your advertising, don't put it there. read more
