Wooo What an awesome surprise! I left our first day kinda open since I didn't know what time we would be ready to start tasting. We were able to get a last minute reservation here and I'm so happy we did. Our host was so helpful and sweet We even learned that the Amtrak stops right by here! Next time I'm taking the train! All the wines were really nice and had such cool labels as an added cool factor. Tasting waived with 2 bottle purchase. Yes wines are a bit on the pricey side if you don't have a membership (and we don't) but I would I always prefer to leave with something in hand rather than paying for a tasting. I'll likely return

We were passing through Paso Robles and decided to stop by here. It's located near a train station, with plenty of parking. There was nobody here but us when we came in. We had the best time and felt like we were sitting in someone's living room tasting the wine. Each pour came with a small bite that just enhanced the flavors. Connor was so great, kind, and accommodating (shoutout to a fellow nurse!!). We left with two bottles and can't wait to be back!

I'm a long time member of the wine club. Sam makes fantastic wine. The single varietals tend to be delicate and highlight the best of the grape. The blends tend to be bold and showcase her talent at matching flavors. COVID has her doing outdoor service but it's still pleasant depending on the weather. She cares about her guests. Currently doing simple but delicious food pairings. This is one of Paso's gems.

What an absolute fantastic winery and location. For travelers leaving Paso Robles via Amtrak or arriving Paso Robles, those visiting or just passing through why not stop in and sip on some delicious wines and relax in their wonderful cozy atmosphere. Right? We did just that. I'm tastefully delighted that we did. Their wines are nice. However, my absolute favorite is their DIRTY CANDY. I must note I tasted no dirt ;D. But! As I sipped on my delicious addiction I did start to taste a lil naughtiness if you will ;D you wonder right? I'll share with you - my mind wandered happily and tastefully as to all the ways I can sip, savor and serve this smooth, decadent, sultry liquid called DIRT CANDY. You must try, sip and savor for yourself. I believe you will taste and feel what my addiction is all about ;D

This little tasting room is right next to the track in downtown Paso. It was bit quiet when we went in and then another couple waiting for a train came in to have a glass of wine. The guy who was pouring the wine was nice, knowledgeable and they have some interesting furniture, paintings, etc. The bathroom is one stall under the stairs but nice and clean. The reds were great, but definitely pricey, especially for Paso. Give them a try though, do love their stemless wine glasses, did purchase some.

Best way to get the holiday spirit is try a winetasting! Super fun and spirited Yelp event at the Cypher Lounge Wine tasting room at the historic Paso Robles train station. Cypher presented Yelpers galore with a fabulous selection of their sophisticated wines and charcuterie. It was a festive kick-off to the holiday season, and everyone was sporting their best "bad" holiday regalia. The Cypher tasting room is a bit off the beaten path in Paso, and we were delighted to discover it next to the beautifully restored Paso Robles train station. It is adorably decorated with wood walls, understated chandeliers, antiquey ceiling fans, a marble topped bar and comfortable lounge furniture. Landscaped charcutery boards invited us, along with spicy dark chocolate brownies, both promising rich and savory flavors. We proceeded through the wine flight, which included five wines, starting with the slighty acidic but noble Grenache. The One Tree Hill Syrah delivered a fruity taste, which stood up to the charcuterie well. The Mourvedre had a big bouquet of rich flavor, the grape hailing from Provence, the south of France. The wine that killed it for me was aptly named Slayer. It filled my mouth with a song of wine, and left me singing along to the classical holiday music! The last sip, from Cypher Eclectic had my senses going in severals taste directions at once, and I think the chile brownie best suited its almost savory flavors. A tasting flight is a bargain at $15, which is the usual cost of a single glass of wine. We lingered and tasted and chatted in the happy ambience of yesteryear, something that is very welcome on the Central Coast. I have had the pleasure of the scenic train trip from SLO to LA, and now the adventure of riding the rails from SLO to San Francisco calls me. I look forward to memorable stops like Cypher along the way.

FINALLY!!! Finally we got back to Cypher! Things have changed since our last visit. They've moved which, while not in the picturesque vineyards of the central coast makes them much easier for me to visit when I'm in the area. The new location is charming! We were passing through Paso Robles and I wanted to pick up a bottle, maybe two. Sadly they were closed, keeping limited hours due to Covid. But Sam, vintner extraordinaire made sure I was able to take home my heart's desire x4. I spent more than I intended but the satisfaction of her amazing wine makes it worth it. I can't rave about this winery enough. It's literally the best wine I've ever had!

I really wanted to love this place but I couldn't. The wines didn't have body to it and we found everything very mineraly and acidic. Atmosphere was interesting. It's an an old strip mall behind the train station. I did learn that their grapes come from kieler canyon. So basically they do not produce any of their grapes.

Cypher Winery (project of Four Vines original founder Christian Tietje) was our last stop of the day on our wine excursion in Paso Robles and we were so glad that we made the trip here. The vibe there was completely relaxed with very inviting and friendly people. The staff know a great deal about wine making overall and were happy to chat about all things vino while tasting their different varietals. As far as favorites, I would say the Cypher eclectic, Heretic, and Anarchy were the tops but that said all of them were quite good. In addition to the wine tasting, they have a small section of olive oils and spiced salts that were available to taste and purchase. Their decor and artwork was particularly impressive. I immediately noticed the dried vine heads hung for decoration from the ceiling as almost natural chandeliers. Additionally, they showcased a number of local artists work in various media including photography and acrylic painting. Overall a great place to visit with amazing wines and cool art to enjoy.

One of our absolute most favorite places in Paso! Sam is THE best!! From the minute we walked in, we were warmly greeted and got to hung out in the cutest outdoor space. After a long drive from Orange County it was nice to relax and enjoy excellent wine (Loved them all, especially Phoenix!) and great company. Will be back again soon.

    Beautiful Olive oils.

Cypher tasting room is the new hip place to hang in Paso! Amazing beautiful place to taste wines. Loved the Grenache and the tasting list!!! It was busy and Mark, the host, did a great job keeping everyone happy and their glasses full. I will definitely be back again! The decor has a 1930s vintage feel to it and with the Amtrak train cruising by, it sends you back into that era. Great place to relax and sip some amazing wines!

What a cozy winery for a "cold" winter month! It was very unexpected to have the tasting room resemble a living room- comfy couches, cute decor, warm ambiance, even the other furniture made it feel like I was in a home. I switched off from sitting on a couch in the back room to sitting by the bar to walking around outside in the back. The owner and the rest of the staff was there to share the story of this space opening up about three months ago, and the history of this winery. I did 5 red wine tastings- all were delicious but my favorite was the last once which was the Eclectic. It pairs well with dark meats and chocolates, which I had a little bit of both to try out. The winery is located right by the train tracks, so we did see and hear the train come by- it's located right by Downtown Paso which is such a convenient location (usually wineries in SLO county are isolated and you can't really go anywhere before/after wine tasting by walking). There was an outdoor patio area that I would love to sit out at during the day! The pourers were very knowledgeable about the wines and even included anecdotes of their favorites which always makes the experience fun! Can't wait to come back!!

Not originally on my list to check out, but we're so glad we decided to add Cypher to one of our tasting stops. The place has a cool vibe. To our delight, the $10 tasting fee included a large, stemless Reidel glass (our choice of 8 designs) and 6 tastings (and bonus tastes)! Nice touch serving oyster crackers. Josh was cool, knowledgeable, fun, and friendly -- and was nice to offer some appreciated recommendations (many of which we pursued). Surprisingly, we stayed about an hour. Good wines! Fun time!

    Gorgeous ceiling decor.

Our first stop when we arrived in Paso. We've been to so many wineries, this would be one of our top 10. The spice pairing is unique but pairs so well with the wine. Buy 3 bottles to waive the fee. Since it's more of boutique, the bottles are quite pricey, mostly ranging near the 100s. But it was our favorite the whole weekend we went there. And we bought 6 bottles. We loved the spell and got 3 bottles of that! It's a Syrah cab blend. Has the Paso flavor that we love. It's not a vineyard, just a tasting room but worth a visit. We met the wine maker too. Friendly and attentive service. Can't wait to pop open a bottle at home soon!

They had a room set up in the back for us (it pays to make a reservation) and it was personalized with our name and it had a comfortable couch and other seating, with a beautiful tapestry on the wall. Our "guide" for today was Nyoka, and she was fabulous. I don't know if she was solely helping us or not; however, it sure seemed like it. She was really sweet, was so informative and just a pleasure to talk to. We did the tasting, and we also did the optional spice tasting for an additional $15. I would strongly encourage you to add in the spice tasting. It is definitely well worth it, and it goes with the wine tasting so well. Nyoka was very good at not only telling us about the wines; however, also telling us about the spices, history, growing conditions, the owners, and even the geography -- along with a map as a visual. She was truly a pleasure. We did end up buying three bottles to take home. These bottles are a little bit pricier than ones we usually buy. We usually fall in the $50 range and these were definitely in the $75 to $90 range for most of them; however, they were definitely good and likely premium. We had an excellent time, and would return again in the future.
