He Hadn't tightened the wheel nuts which is why it was rubbing in first place! As I use the bike to carry my child from Nursery the thought of the nuts coming off the wheel with him on it (due to the repairers forgetting) is very distressing. i immediately left message explaining what happened..(i also cut my hand having to re align the wheel) So far 2 days later an no reply. i have used this shop before and haven't had a problem. This time it was an unprofessional disaster that could've resulted in a serious accident. Obviously it was an oversight but i am very unhappy that no one has contacted me with an apology.

I brought them my bicycle for a "premium service" twice, and both times I ended up paying around 200 pounds. The service itself is 80£, and fine: both times I was recommended to change a number of parts (chain, cassette, brake pads, brake cables, etc.). What puzzles me is their prices for said replacement parts. E.g.: I was quoted 115£ for a pair of Campagnolo Veloce brakes. I only needed one, but they told me they are only sold in pairs. A quick Google search reveals they are actually available in single units... for about 28 pounds. I ended up not changing the brake, and just paid for cassette, chain, pads and inners: cassette and chain came for 10/15% more than the average retail price I could find on the internet.

Even though I had authorized a replacement of the shifter (£200), they were able to repair the existing part and included it in the overall servicing of my bike. They had me back training in one day. Rather than be told that I'd have to wait until sometime later in the week, here I simply wheeled my bike in, and 15 minutes later had a newly installed cable ready to go. The price, for both labour and cable, was also good at £8. More generally, this shop sells the usual range of bikes, though focusing more on bikes for the road than off-road. There are kids bikes. hybrids, some road bikes (and some rather nice accessories for the latter) and a couple of token-effort, psuedo-city bikes. The normal range of accessories, from puncture repair kits to fancy hydration and refuelling gels can be found here too. The service from the mechanic was friendly, offering to adjust the cable for free when it stretched a few days into use. I normally trek to Look Mum No Hands when I'm in search of quality service on my Dutch bike. But with this place right on my doorstep I suspect my trips eastwards will become rather less.

Really spot on, friendly, knowledgable, helpful, above and beyond the call of service and far beyond the cost of an inner tube. Second, a good selection of bikes and other all the other stuff. Three, they were putting together a custom build which I got to have a look at and I was really impressed. They had sourced an unusual frame, got it custom sprayed, imported Paul Comp hubs and had put together an understated stonker of a bike. I will get punctures by here more often.

There were three men in the shop, one was on the phone, one was a costumers and the other one answered me and said the job needed 6 hours and I needed to leave the bike and pick it up later in the day around 5pm or the next day at lunch. I told him that I didn't want my gear box to be changed as it was working perfectly, all it needed was the right tools for the bolt to be screwed into place. I was willing to pay any price to fix the screw into place but he refused to do the job in front of me and wouldn't give me a reason why he wouldn't do it, telling me it would take him 6 hours. I took my bike to another shop and the sales assistant at Evans Cycles in Camden Town told me that the previous guy probably just wanted to charge me more and just remove the gear box and change the gear box entirely. I wouldn't recommend Fitzrovia Bicycles as for anyone to go there to repair their bikes or buy one. They didn't have…read moreit in stock but had a slightly more expensive one, the rear rollers plus the roller for the fender. They offered to and did send me the more expensive part at no extra cost. It arrived in one day. Their prices are very good, they don't charge for shipping, and they ship unbelievably quickly. I haven't been there in person, but if they are as friendly and responsive in shop as they are by email it'd be worth the hour and a half train ride from where I am now.
