I woke up early on a Saturday morning recently with the urge to burn some calories and not break my 5-weekday exercise streak... and I really felt like a pumpin' cycling class with good beats would hit the spot. So I googled "hip-hop indoor cycling class," and Cycled! came up. It's been a while since I lived in downtown SS, so I didn't recognize the address, but I reserved a spot and sped down there. It was so worth it! Shayla was an engaging instructor, and the music was great! I've never used hand weights while cycling before, so that was an interesting experience. I came away feeling like I really had an all-over workout. I hope to come back again... maybe even convene some friends for a pre-brunch cycle party :) Keep it up! read more

This place is a bit small, but I think it adds to the intimacy of the class. Everyone was extremely friendly and supportive, and as a first time rider with CYCLED! I needed all the support I could get! I LOVE the fact that they play R&B and Hip Hop music for their classes. Finally something I can sing too lol (to ease the pain of the kick-butt workout). The instructor was tons of fun, really pushed the class, and made it very welcoming. I'm looking forward to going again. read more

OMG...What a workout!! I'm so glad I found this place. The staff is very pleasant and welcoming..great customer service (1 Star). The place is very clean and doesn't reek of sweat (1 Star). The groups are small which means more personal attention (1 Star). The actual class was phenomenal...and the instructor (Will) was very motivating (1 Star). Towels, water and fruit were offered as part of the class (1 Star) = 5 Stars The best feature is that they send you an mail of your stats for the class you've recently completed. I lovvvve that. I've purchased 10 classes and will purchase more as I begin to see progress in my core and legs...I'm stoked :) read more

Went for the first time on a whim with my bff and we died but loved it. Left feeling uplifted and energized. Small but very clean space, and super attentive and energetic staff. My one criticism is that I would encourage more musical variety (my instructor played the same Whitney Houston song twice last night) .... But I love it and intend to sign up for a month unlimited read more

This was my first time ever taking a spin class, and I had a really fun (and rigorous) experience. Our instructor, Ryan, was very attentive to all the students and pushed me to the max. The workout totally kicked my ass (in a good way!). I like that it's a small space. I'll definitely be back. Minus one star just because it's kind of expensive. read more

Cycled! MD is an awesome boutique cycle studio in DC. I generally take Shayla and Ryan's classes. However, all the instructors seem nice. Cycling is a great alternative to my passion - running - during the winter months. The space is very clean and the bikes exceed expectations. Definitely worth the ride... read more

I visited cycle for the first time August 2016 for their free community ride. Zina was my instructor and she was leading her first class. I have cycled many times so am familiar with the class style but have been inconsistent in staying with the program. I truly enjoyed my spin at this place. The location is small but intimate (about 10-12 bikes), felt more like a group class with friends than an intimidating huge class which was great for me since I was out of shape. Zina was highly energetic, had great variations, and a great hip hop playlist. The owner was also very nice and gave complimentary water and towels. I loved the email they send after class with the stats including your calories and speed in the class. I would definitely consider going here. read more

I took my 1st CYCLED spin class last Saturday and it was awesome. I was invited by friend and I'm glad I went. The last spin class i took was a year ago. This class was great for it motivated me to continue with spin. The instructor, Adrienne, was super helpful and encouraging throughout the ride. Loved her energy!! I definitely will be back. read more

I took my first class during the CYCLED! 4th Anniversary Celebration. Our instructor was Grace and I loved it! She had a Soca playlist which kept me energized and motivated. I definitely will start going to her Sunday morning classes. I also love that the Silver Spring location is metro accessible. read more

I took my first class with Adrienne a few months ago -- BEST workout I've had in a VERY long time. Her energy was incredible, her playlist was fun and upbeat. I was very sore the next day and wasnt sure if I wanted to return lol but I've been back regularly! I ride with Adrienne on Saturday's and Shayla on Wednesdays! Shayla is a phenomenal instructor as well -- she pushes you but her bubbly personality makes you forget you're at level 22 resistance. I HIGHLY recommend taking a class! read more

Silver Spring location: What a great workout! The studio is very clean and the decor is very chic. I loved the positive energy in the room and the music was awesome. The owner and the instructor were both very welcoming, and I love the judgement free zone.I plan to check out the Takoma location one day as I hear it's pretty cool too. The price for the workout and experience is incomparable, so if you're looking for a cycling studio, this is the one! read more

Yesterday was my first time taking any kind of cycling class and I definitely got a serious workout. My husband and I attended the 8am Live DJ Rooftop Ride with Ryan, and while it was challenging and, at times, intense, we never felt excluded or pushed beyond our limits. Ryan was an excellent motivator, the complimentary water and towels were very much appreciated and the music was perfect. I will definitely be back for more classes, and next time with my own giant bottle of water because I worked up a major sweat almost the entire time (yes, even outdoors in 48 degrees). read more

I received a CYCLED! gift certificate from my sister. I took a friend and we had a great experience! Shayla was very helpful in scheduling the class and in welcoming us to CYCLED! We were new to spinning classes and Shayla made us feel instantly comfortable. The workout was wonderful - the music was great, the diversity of moves made the workout interesting, and Shayla was encouraging. The space is very appealing and conveniently located. I'm taking my sweetheart to Shayla's class next weekend! I would recommend CYCLED! to everyone! read more

I really enjoyed myself! The staff was very friendly. The instructor was high energy and gave us a great workout! It was my first cycled class and you could tell that the staff has a great relationship with regular cyclers. Definitely going again! read more

Love Cycled!! The instructors are fun and encouraging but still push you to work out hard! I love that the studio is small but sometimes it's a liiiiiiiittlle cramped if it's a full class BUT that doesn't take away from the workout. Highly recommend this studio. read more

I normally don't like group workout classes, but I must say CYCLED was not like anything I've ever done before. I went to the 45 minute class last night with my mother (we're both first time riders) and I had an AWESOME time. The space is super intimate and there were only 11 people in my class, which was nice because sometimes large classes can be intimidating. You could tell that everyone was at different levels, but they were super supportive and I could tell everyone was working hard. The music was on point, our instructor Tamera was so motivating and really helpful. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I promise you this CYCLED class is everything!! I've taken "other" cycling classes and never felt as pushed as I have after taking Ryan's class. The boutique sizes classes are small so the instructions can assist you. I love that about the class. What I love even MORE is the progress report email you get after you leave class. That alone is amazing. I will come back again and again and again! read more

I took my first class here with Alicia and I loved it! I liked that the studio was smaller and really allowed the instructor to check in and motivate everyone in the class individually. The music was great and the workout was intense but still fun. Everyone there was super friendly and they provided water and fruit after the class. I would definitely recommend CYCLED to new and frequent riders! read more

I had my first cycle class in years at the Silver Spring location! It's a cozy space, but don't let that sway you. It's a great group of people and the classes are intense, yet fun. My class was with Montrell. Super helpful and encouraging. I definitely recommend this studio. read more

Had an amazign first spin experience at the Ride w/rev event hosted at Cycled! The Cycled team really pushed me and the rooftop view made the experience just that much better! read more

I just wanted to thank the CYCLED team! Just a few short months ago I made a commitment to myself to get in shape, and I've seen a great deal of improvement in my health and overall physique. However, I'd be remised if I didn't mention the important role that CYCLED has played in this journey. It's never easy to get back in shape or stay in shape, but you and your staff have encouraged me all the way. When I said "I can't," Ryan pushes back and says "Yes, you can...TRY!" I'm so impressed with CYCELD's professionalism and personal touches. There are a lot of places to work out in this city, but no one makes you feel valued, wanted and encouraged like CYCLED! The staff knowing every rider by name, offering alternate exercises for riders with health concerns and the consistently upbeat and positive attitudes & affirmations make CYCLED so special. I am forever indebted to you all, you've made me feel welcome, given me a place to clear my head and pushed me beyond my own limits! If you're ready to get in shape, then CYCLED is your place! read more

I just had my first cycling class at the Takoma location with instructor Mary Duke. I am completely new to studio cycling, and the instructor was very helpful in getting the newbies set up and riding. The pace of the class was challenging but not insane, and the atmosphere was friendly and positive. Only suggestion is to give the instructor a wireless mic so she can be heard more clearly over the music. I had fun, and am just pleasantly sore as I sit here three hours later. I'll go back. read more

I had my first CYCLED! ride last Saturday (6/20/15) and loved it. Upon entering the studio, I was greeted with a warm smile. The instructor (and owner), Shayla, was very personable, engaging and encouraging throughout the ride which was good because I needed it! The full body workout was great, the moves were diverse and the sweat was abundant. Complimentary fruit and water is offered after the ride as well as delicious fresh pressed juices at cost. The studio is chic and nicely decorated. I especially liked that the place is well-kept, clean and neat. They even provide clean, white towels which I thought was a nice touch. For those looking for a place that is conveniently located in downtown Silver Spring, a great atmosphere with up-to-date equipment, CYCLED! is the place to be. I am definitely going back! read more

I attended my first class with Cycled last night and it was great. Shayla was the instructor. She was helpful, friendly and had a great playlist. The studio is clean and modern. Nice bikes. The studio offers many class times for different schedules. I welcomed the feedback from Shayla regarding any form corrections. I think this is important for anyone new to spinning and a good refresher for people who spin regularly. read more

The class was great! I took the NWA theme class and the instructor was really good. The only concern I have is that I am a big man, so the small size room can be a concern, just have to pick a better bike. But I do like the boutique set-up, it gives you a personal touch. Enjoyed your class Shyla and the colors! Covington, read more

So, I have been away from cycling/spinning for over 10 years. It was one of the most dreaded forms of exercise for me. However, I was inspired by a good friends body transformation to try again. Well, Sunday's class with Will really changed me!!! I had gone to another class on Saturday morning, but this one was NEXT LEVEL awesomeness. His energy kept me engaged. The music was great and he was such a spirited, charismatic and high-energy instructor. It made all of the difference for my experience. I will definitely be back!!! read more

Cycled is a great new studio, and a wonderful addition to the area. I loved my class with Ryan - he picked super fun music and held everyone accountable for their ride. It was fun, engaging, and motivating - I loved that he had us all do some counting! read more

I participated in Cycled! Rooftop Morning rid during memorial day weekend The class instructor Shayla kicked up the energy during our class. The live DJ rocked us out with some Beyonce, Ri-Ri and more! The intimate class was perfect. Throughout the class we climbed hills, tap back and push ups on the bike. Shayla was very warm and welcoming to everyone and encouraged participants and take breaks as necessary. I will definitely return to cycled! read more

I attended the 30 min 0700 express class with a co worker and whew what a workout! I found it to be a great way to start my morning. I enjoyed the class and would def recommend to others. I appreciate that it is a small studio so theres more individualized attention. Overall it was good vibes. read more

I attended my first cycling class last week. 30 minutes of cycling/30 HIIT workout. It had been a while since I was in the gym. So I was a little nervous. The instuctor Adrienne was very encouraging and kept me pushing through. The location is very clean and there are lockers for storage. I am looking forward to my next class. read more

I went to Cycled for the first time and loved how clean the facilities was with no workout odor to hit you in the face lol :-) I appreciate the facility having a hand towel and weights already available. I've attend other cycling classes that did not offer this and if you forget to bring a hand-towel then your stuck wiping away sweat with your t-shirt (if you forget to grab paper towels from the bathroom, yuk!). I also appreciate the bottled water offerings and a piece of fruit at the end of class as a recovery snack! Shayla the instructor was wonderful and upbeat throughout the work-out with upbeat music to keep me going! The classroom was a bit tight (compared to other spin classes I've attended) and the room was not completely dark as I tend to favor the blacked out room with glow in the dark disco feel. Otherwise, I do recommend Cycled for great spin classes! read more

Class was great! I've taken classes at a lot of the local studios, and this was one of my favorites. Location was good, only a short (less than 5min) walk from the Silver Spring metro. Shayla was my instructor, and so welcoming. The studio is small and intimate, which combined with the friendly instruction really lends itself to a "we're in this together" vibe. The atmosphere was trendy and fun, but low key - by no means a place where you have to wear $100 yoga pants. The class itself was very music-driven, which I love. The instructor really switched it up with some standing, isolation, light weights, and dance-like moves throughout the workout that helped break up the monotony of "just pedaling." Highly recommend. read more

Really good spin class. Nice facility without the pretension.

Had an amazing class with Rachel Thursday. I had been feeling under the weather this week and wanted to get the last bit of ickiness out of my system. I pushed myself further than I had ever gone before. Rachel was helpful and helped me every step of the way during my ride. The music was motivating and kept me pedaling! Love this place! See you guys next week!!! read more

Just went to a class tonight and loved it! Nice, clean studio and cute layout. I look forward to taking more classes there and finding the instructor/class I like best. I really want a pure hip hop class and I hope they have it! read more

This place is amazing! I took my first class with Ryan at the end of September(2015) and I had a wonderful experience. I have been to some spinning classes before and even to be commercial places like Fly Wheel. I liked the intimate feel of this studio. It is a small, boutique studio with only 9 bikes (if I counted right!). Ryan was a great instructor and the class that I went to he was trying something new - Boy Bands music. We all laughed at the playlist choices and he told us that usually he has his own playlists but the Boy Bands playlist was suggested by a client. I liked that Ryan paid attention to each of us individually and he would note if we weren't increasing our resistance enough, pushing us hard. I loved the intimate feel of the studio and I would definitely recommend it to anyone! I'll come back again, especially since they are participating in Class Pass which is a huge bonus for me! read more

Love CYCLED! Small, woman owned business in downtown Silver Spring. Has an intimate, family style vibe- but completely professional. The spin class was fantastic, great music (Ryan was the instructor) and great workout. He incorporated some fun techniques and kept all riders really engaged, and worked well with a few newbies while pushing the advanced riders. Had a follow up call with the owner, Shayla, to ask about private classes for my organization. She was warms and super responsive to the request. Can't wait to make CYCLED my new spinning home- bye bye LA Fitness :) read more

Very clean facility and Ryan was AWESOME! I didn't realize I was signing up for a cycle/boot camp combo class, but it was just what I needed. I picked the Silver Spring location because I prefer smaller classes. The instructor was able to keep an eye on all of us and caught me when I started to slack off. I'll be back! read more

Love Cycled Silver Spring! This is a wonderful studio that is beautifully decorated and feels like home! The classes are small so you can get to know other clients and the instructors very quickly and easily. I came to the owner, Shayla's class the first time and she is so very kind. I love this location and it is pretty popular so classes fill up quickly! My favorite classes are on Saturday mornings. I really enjoy Ryan's classes. His music is fun and he is pretty high energy and makes an effort to connect with clients meaningfully so that we can all have a great workout. I have some injuries and he and the other instructors are always very understanding. So glad that Cycled is in Silver Spring! This is a wonderful, diverse, welcoming, and inclusive studio that provides high-energy/quality workouts! read more

The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because the class kicked my butt and am still feeling humbled by the experience. Class was in Takoma Park and my instructor Ryan was awesome - friendly, upbeat, encouraging and merciless -- everything you would want in a spin class. Music was great, facility is clean as a whistle and I appreciated NOT having my stats posted in the screen in front of me (no one needed to see that). Very happy to have this spot in the neighborhood and will return. read more
