Went here today with my sister for the third time. We had booked a 45 minute workout class together with Nyemale again and it went great, intense and inspiring. I also felt amazed while I'm working out, then cycle and workout at the same time by following the beat, rhythm and pace. I couldn't agree more about it. Finally, I look forward to go and workout this place again when I'm in the mood to workout more and to also burn some calories as well.

So thankfully, there are unique classes like trampoLEAN out there that keep my workouts exciting so I don't have to drag myself to the gym every time I want to work off the 3 desserts I likely had the night before (#facts). I signed up for the trampoLEAN rave class, thinking that it would just be a fun, little workout on the trampoline where I might sweat a little. HAH. Boy, was I wrong. This is a LEGIT workout, and I guarantee that you will be sweating. A lot. It's basically 50 minutes of non-stop cardio on your mini trampoline, complete with resistance bands (free ones and ones you pull from the ceiling), weights, glow sticks, and of course, rave-y music. Not only did I have a blast jumping every which way on my trampoline (after I got over my initial fear of falling and busting my ass ofc), but it was a great workout! I DEF felt like I burned off most, if not all of my 3 desserts from the night before (thank god so I'll be able to have another 3 desserts the next day), which is all I really want in a workout class. Will 100% be back for another trampoLEAN rave class in the future!

I was a monthly member at the Boerum Hill location of Row House before it suddenly vanished at the end of 2023 (RIP). This Chelsea location doesn't have quite the same layout (a bit more cramped, lighting if you're stationed in the back row is a bit intense), but it gets the job done. The best part? Rowing is effort-based, so no pressure, no intimidation--just you vs. the machine. And thank god it's effort based, as the second class I went to I was fully wiped (but couldn't let that $7 deal get away from me!) but still managed to get through the full class without burning out. Their app is great--tracks meters, best effort, and makes booking super easy. I went to two classes, and the standout was with Chris, who played what I initially thought was just a suspicious amount of SZA... only to later realize the class was literally called "SZA Full Row." Iconic. Would 100% come back if I lived or worked nearby--alas, I don't. But if you do, it's definitely worth a row!

The good - machines are nice and keep track of your stats very class and lifetime ! The bad - A studio could use a renovation - class structure is but boring and the rowing and weights get tediously boring at times The ugly - I don't get how constant babbling, in an unintelligible monotone is motivating or helpful. Too many instructors here do that.

The noon, 45 minute "express" class was very uplifting and high energy. I awoke from my late slumber and was feeling energized for the entire day. The instructor was very positive and engaging. The music was upbeat and kept me interested throughout the entire time. We worked all muscle groups as we danced to high energy songs that kept our heart rates up the entire class. No breaks. We used weights and resistance straps to work our arm and back muscles, which was not easy. Really enjoyed the resistance strap portion, as it really engaged my back muscles, working them like I've never done my entire life. I can still feel them hurt, as I carry myself taller and straighter. That is the dancers' secret to great posture--strong back muscles! Be careful, the floor was slippery and my sneakers kept gliding whenever we did floor exercises. The studio space is small and is located on the third floor. It was difficult to find, as there were no bright indicators of the entrance. Only one workout space available, so no multiple classes can happen simultaneously. Only one bathroom on the premises. No shower or changing room, which can get hectic if you're attending a class during busy times like after work and need a place to change after sweating.

My friend and I were looking…read morefor a similar dance cardio class and had seen M Dance classes in the DANY studios so decided to give it a shot. I've been a regular member since May 2016. What I like about M Dance is that there's zero intimidation. I feel welcome in every class and never feel like I am struggling or doing something wrong. The skill level is also ideal for me. I see some reviews complaining how the classes are not challenging, but that is fine, maybe this studio is not for them. I am a generally in shape person, I go running and do weights and use the elliptical machines at the gym. I am sweating after every class I've taken. My favorite classes are Victoria's and Jenna's Dance Mix Cardio and Dance Cardio Combo. Due to schedule changes, I've also started taking Jenna's Zumba. I've also tried Tap Cardio, Barre Bootcamp and Buns and Guns but prefer the higher energy classes with nonstop dancing. The classes are for all levels - you can jump or kick higher if you want, or stay low to the ground. As a newcomer, I felt like I could catch onto the routines pretty quickly. Everyone I've encountered has been friendly. Misty, the owner, is very hands-on and whenever I've had problems with the online system or questions, she's been very responsive. The instructors do a great job with mixing up the routines and keeping everything high energy and fun. The classes can get crowded (I think the Classpass users must make up at least half) but thankfully there's a class size limit that is enforced. The location is great for me - Pearl Studios is 1 block from my work place so the 6PM classes work out perfectly. It's a pretty central location (near Penn Station, Port Authority and Times Square subway lines) for those who don't live nearby. And the prices can't be beat - especially compared to other studios. I buy one or two classes at a time (which are higher priced than bundles) and still find it extremely affordable. My only qualm is the changing of the schedule every few months. I'm a person of routine so once I find a class/day/time that works for me, I like to stick to it, but thankfully I've managed to make it work so far. I highly recommend M Dance!

I didn't expect that after reading some reviews so I was quite surprised. They also had individual rooms for shower, bathroom, and changing. The shower room came with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap in dispensers so you don't have to bring your own. There are a plenty of lockers with combo locks attached. The class felt a little rushed, especially during the megaformer session. It's mostly because it was our first time and we weren't familiar with the workout. The instructor was attentive and she came around every so often to keep an eye on my form, which I appreciated. But the instruction came so fast that sometimes it felt like it went in one ear and out the other. Each workout on the megaformer is pretty short, so the instructor will start to explain the next move while we're doing something else, and that made the workout more confusing, unfortunately. I am sore the next day so I know the workout was effective. If you're used to the workout, I believe the workout would be even more beneficial. It's nice to try new workout classes but I learned in the end that I prefer simply running or doing independent strength workouts with friends, at my own pace. I appreciate that SLT Tread has given me the opportunity to try their class, though!

I actually missed the entrance at first, it's a small black door with a sign. You enter a vestibule and take the elevator down to the studio. The space itself is well set up, with lockers, showers, and towels available. The class is 55 minutes total, split into about 26 minutes on the Megaformer and 26 minutes on the treadmill. I started on the Megaformer, which was primarily upper body and core-focused, with one or two leg exercises mixed in. I have taken a lot of SLT and the former Brooklyn Bodyburn classes, and while the workout was still challenging, the shorter 25-minute format felt a bit abbreviated. I think I might have felt differently if it had been fully focused on either core or legs. The treadmill portion was less dynamic than I expected. We did about eight 90-second intervals, rotating between flat and incline, with a sprint at the end. It felt somewhat repetitive, and compared to other treadmill-based classes, not especially engaging or varied. Overall, I am glad I tried it, but the combined Megaformer/treadmill format was not my favorite. I would personally recommend sticking with a traditional SLT class or a treadmill-focused workout like Mile High Run Club or Barry's. That said, the instructor was a good, she was super upbeat, clear with directions, and gave just enough time to transition between movements without breaking the flow.
