I don't even know how many times I've been to Equinox location, but it is definitely one of my favorites. I'll just start with the best part of this facility which is the employees. The staff here is so wonderful, kind and welcoming. from the front desk to the shop workers, trainers, instructors, cleaning crew and Earthbar employees. I've had their staff assist me in membership changes as well as calling other locations to locate a specific item in the Equinox Shop. They are great! The facility itself is also really nice in my opinion. It definitely fits into the neighborhood with industrial chic, lighting and exposed brick and ceilings. When you walk inside the first floor has some bar seating mirrors, that's great to wait around for friends, enjoy a snack from Earthbar, or get some work done as the WiFi reaches there. Upstairs the check in desk is straight ahead, with the main studio to the left, trainers offices, the main floor and bathrooms to the right. The spa area is behind front desk. This location has steam rooms but no saunas in the restrooms. Classes can get full on weeekends, especially yoga I've noticed, but are never uncomfortably packed like I've seen some Manhattan locations get. read more

First off I love the personal trainer that I have been working with for years. He is defiantly the reason to go to this location. Unfortunately, there are sectors of the staff that have really fallen off. I hear complaining and I am around some pretty sour attitudes. My partner says that Lifetime down the street does not have these issues. Sadly ill be moving on. If you want to be scolded for towels on the floor that are not your then this is the gym for you. read more

It's small for an equinox and it's very easy for it get packed. You have to figure out the right times to go or else you'll easily be spending 2 hours on your workout. Stretching area is tiny. Not enough squat racks or space for that matter. Lately it's been unbelievably busy, to the point where it's not even worth going. But when you pay $220+ for a gym you make it work. All other amenities are great and staff is so nice. Showers and sauna are super clean and always well stocked. The classes are really good too. I highly recommend spin on Thursday evenings -she's got the best playlist. I would suggest a crowd meter on the app that can tell you how busy it is so people can plan their workouts accordingly. All in all the only downside to this gym is the size and how crowded it gets. read more

Despite being a smaller club, the staff and classes are amazing! If you're looking for a community, this equinox delivers. Shorty after I joined, I was helped by Raul to book a few complimentary sessions and figure out what classes I would enjoy! I've read up on the rest of the reviews on here and- I'm really not sure where all the hate is coming from. I personally love this location. EQX Dumbo has been my home club for the last three years (by choice). Yes yes yes, the club is small I know. Let's get that complaint out of the way and look at the pros: It has: -a beautiful facility in my opinion. -a really good location -sparkling clean bathrooms with the most diligent maintenance crew constantly wiping and stocking things up. These people are the true stars here. -a really friendly check in desk -and most importantly- a family of members who for the most part, know each other on a first name basis. Many of other clubs I've been to (especially in Manhattan) are a) dirty or b) like JFK airport. New faces walking in and out every day. Maybe that doesn't matter to everyone, but it kinda does to me. I like consistency. If you're looking for a larger EQX with more amenities and space, then yes go to another location. *If you're looking for a clean and friendly neighborhood club to -belong- to, EQX Dumbo is your spot. The locker rooms are super nice and clean, the steam room is awesome, and the classes are pretty good. I wish additional times were offered, like 6am or like 7:30pm classes, but overall still pretty solid. I think what makes it for me is that every single person who works at the desks/in the locker rooms are super friendly and welcoming; usually I feel awkward approaching people to ask questions, but everyone's just super chill. Their trainers are awesome, but staff outside of trainers are also really great. read more

This equinox is located closest to my home in Brooklyn and I like to come here on the weekends when I am home. Parking is a nuisance and I usually just park in the garage right next to the gym. And use the parking app to get the space a little cheaper. When you walk in there is a juice press bar downstairs, and the check in desk is right up the stairs. The locker rooms are right past that area, and it is some of the nicer locker rooms that I've seen at equinox. It's very spacious and clean. They have a super nice steam room. Lots of showers. Lots of nice sized lockers. The gym is one floor and it's pretty long, by the entrance are the weights and machines and at the other end is the cardio equipment. When I've been in the gym here it's ever crowded, and there's always room for stretching and foam rolling. Their cardio has the tv on the screen which is great. A definite must visit. read more

Definitely on the smaller end of Equinox clubs, so you won't find as much variety when it comes to equipment. That being said, this club is one of the recently built ones so you will find the latest "Equinox look", with wooden elements and dark walls - very sleek and modern. The cycling studio is great, definitely better than the one at the Brooklyn Heights location (better ventilated and cooler). The staff here are always friendly. I love the locker room in this club, it is very spacious and has the toiletries well organized - it is overall very well kept. This is a nice neighborhood Equinox, one of my favorites so far. read more

The Club is amazing. I love the steam sauna. The playlist should definitly be given to the members. Didn't try a class yet as I am a newbie but will soon! It's clean, futuristic and cosy ate the same time. The location is great. You can even watch the tourists take pictures in Washington Street while you see the blooming trees from inside. Probably the worst equinox in nyc. It's very small, not a lot of equipment. The floor is always filthy. This biggest let down are the ridiculous hours. They close at 6 on the weekend. 7 on Fridays. 9 m-thurs. the hours makes the gym super packed which ruins the workout experience. The showers close even earlier. Don't expect equipment to get fixed either. The incline bench and lat pull down was broken for months. The mirrors are warped.. I can't think of why this is a premium gym. The good: it's very close to where I live. Bonus: it has dumbbells. read more

Nope. Just no. After a long happy 15 year relationship with Crunch, I'm shopping for a new gym and decided to level up. I checked out this Equinox and the LifeTime down the street yesterday morning. Equinox is an NYC mainstay and lifestyle brand so I was pretty shocked seeing it and feeling an overwhelming sense of "seriously? That's it?" In fairness I was fresh out of the 4 floor, full spa, basketball court, pool, and sun deck LifeTime ...... but still. All of these starts are for Chloe who was super friendly, helpful and upfront with her sales style. While the gym does look cool and there are vacuous looking models roaming around looking for lettuce to eat, it is really small and has nothing more to offer than a Blink or Planet Fitness in terms of equipment ...... but it comes with a WHOPPING price tag of almost $300/month plus a $500 initiation fee for one location. You gotta pay more if you want to use other gyms. Just stop Equinox. I get that your interior design is gorgeous and you likely paid a whole lot for your tile work and edgy interiors (in fairness, gorgeous), but I'd rather spend my money at LifeTime. There is admittedly a lot of beige over there and possibly some fake plants, but the bang for your buck is about 4x. 4 floors of facilites to your one. Less expensive monthly membership, no ridiculous initiation fee, and access to all gyms including Sky with its outdoor pool deck overlooking the river. read more

This is my home location and I have to say it's a great gym. I can't speak for the women's locker room experience from other reviews, but I can say the men's locker room is always really clean. I never have to wait for the shower and it always smells great. Soap dispensers and everything are always filled. There are times where the gym can get crowded, but people are generally nice enough to work sets in and people tend to do their sets and move on and I usually do not have to wait more than 5 min for a weight set (there is the occasional hogger or two who'll take a pair of dumbbells and use them in another area for 30 min at a time, but that's not frequent). I haven't had a training session but trainers all seem friendly and I haven't seen any of them hogging entire areas like what I've seen in other reviews for other locations. Staff is great, very friendly and down to earth and make all feel very welcome. Only thing I might recommend them to consider is an additional landmine since there's only one. Also, some signage to encourage people who aren't actively using weights or equipment to put them back rather than monopolizing equipment for 30 min at a time would be welcome for the less considerate of folks. read more

This location is located a few convenient blocks from the F line and down the hill from the A/C train line - relatively easy to get to. On my quest to find a new gym due to my previous one closing down, I was provided with a 3 day trial pass to explore the gym and see if it would be a good fit for my fitness goals and the comfort my old gym provided in terms of amenities. I'm one who loves to explore classes and get bored easily. Equinox has a plethora of classes to choose from. Another wonderful aspect I absolutely love is the steam room and showers. When I started at this gym a year ago it was great and I loved it. Slowly over the last 3 months it has fallen apart. I had a personal trainer bothering and criticizing my workout to a point it was uncomfortable. Then when I complained the general manager and personal training managers acted so unprofessional. So beware. It's small limited equipment. It seems equipment is down for a month when it breaks. Recently they got rid of stair mills and replaced with the new version which are terrible. Then removed hamstring curl machine all together, what gym does that? Kind of over the lack of basic gym equipment I pay hefty price for and will be canceling just not worth the hassle and unprofessional management team. read more

I've been to a few Equinox's and I really liked this one. Although it's slightly smaller, it was less crowded and equipment looked newer. The lockers did not need locks which was awesome. I used the stretching area, free weights zone and eucalyptus steam room. Everything was in tip top shape and very clean. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try out a class but I definitely recommend this gym to those who live around the area! read more

Fairly small for an Equinox. They don't carry hair brushes in the locker rooms which is annoying and the staff always messes up refilling the soaps so you get facial cleanser in your conditioner and conditioner in your shampoo bottles. It should be an easy fix from management if they just trained their staff. read more

I went to Equinox Dumbo yesterday hoping the photos of the showers posted by Maribel L. were not accurate. Unfortunately the photos posted by Maribel L. _are_ accurate. I was just in the club on 2/23/19, a Saturday. The attendant in the women's locker room was on her phone and lazing around. Meanwhile the following conditions int he locker room persisted for the 2 hours that I was in the gym: -Filthy restroom stalls -Empty paper towel holders -Empty soap dispensers -Filthy floors with HAIR just like in the photos in the shower stalls YUCK!!! I've been in Planet Fitness locker rooms that were better-maintained. Given that Maribel L's review was posted months ago, it's pretty clear that Equinox management believes this is totally acceptable. Well for the prices that we pay, I assure you that it's not. Aside from the horrible locker room the rest of the facility seems nice and well-maintained. Bottom line: Equinox needs to do better. read more

I stupidly joined another equinox location without shopping around first. Luckily, I bought the package that allows me to go to several other locations too. Dumbo has been my favorite so far. There is so much open space compared to other locations. The machines AREN'T on top of each other. The locker rooms are great. The staff is NICE (hard to come by at other locations). There is hardly ever a wait for the showers and they are very well maintained. Studio cycling with Shane on Wednesdays is worth taking. Hes personable, motivating, and full of energy. I like coming at night on the weekends. The girl that works on the weekends at night she's very helpful and she keeps the locker room clean. She's had a good customer service. She has a very good communication with clients. She always looks happy and don't see her on her phone. The girl that work Monday thru Thursday at night she's always on the phone. If she has time to be on the phone all the time what's the point of she working in the locker room she should be on the front desk answering phones if she want to be on the phone. This is by far my favorite Equinox, and it's not just because it's the closest to my home either. Every time I've had any kind of membership question or issue I was taken care of so well. Yes, it's expensive, but it's the best gym I've ever been to. It really encourages you to go to the gym - it's so nice, modern, relaxing and welcoming. When considering the price, you have to consider the place is very clean, the layout nice, great steam rooms and showers with all Kiehl's products and awesome blow dryers. I haven't taken classes really, but the equipment is great and well maintained. The people who frequent it are respectful and quiet, no meat heads sitting around the squat rack taking up space and talking to each other. Honestly, you can find a cheaper gym but it won't have any of these aspects. For $175 per month, it's worth it if you go 3-4 times a week, which people really should do anyway. The only thing I think they could do to improve it is to add some basic things downstairs at the juice bar. They ONLY serve, like, $10 juices that you have to order. There are a few things in the cooler but again they're expensive juices. It would be nice to have the option of buying a regular Gatorade or Tropicana juice or something. I just get what I need from Peas & Pickles next door. read more

My husband and I own an apartment closer to Brooklyn Heights, however this location is actually easier for us to get to via transit after work etc. I workout 5 days or more a week and this is one of my favorite Equinox locations (I also use many others). I love the smaller size of this location and that it's a little quieter. Not as many classes available as others, but that's why I have an all access plan :) read more

It's equinox so it's very clean, chic, and trendy. I had a nice time working out here. The machines are plenty and the lockers and bathrooms are very clean, as expected. The space is smaller than I would've thought but the layout itself makes it seem bigger. I would recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to join one. read more

I love Equinox. LOVE. This one is a decent location, layout, etc. The only problem? The music is SO LOUD. I'm not going to a nightclub - I'm going to a gym. The classes are amazing so far, but again, the noise is insane. I've been to so many equinox locations, and I don't walk out with a headache every time like this one. Dumbo Equinox has been fantastic. I've been a member for about 6 months and have nothing but positive experiences. The workout equipment is great and well-balanced, I usually stick to weights but a few of their other machines and options have tempted me to try other types of workouts which I've ended up loving. The locker room facilities are amazing, they do an impeccable job of keeping them clean, seems like someone is always in there tidying up. The steam room is top of the line, was worth the price of admission alone. Beyond the facilities, the staff were fantastic, always greeting with a smile and there when any help was needed, but also not pushy and let you get on with your workout. I also had a few interactions with the manager, Ron, about some particular things and he went above and beyond. Overall, my membership with equinox has been GREAT and always felt like a deluxe experience, one of the best investments I've made and I can be quite a penny pincher. read more

first of all, these photos do not seem to be this location. moving on, though, the club seems to prize appearance over function. PLUSES: it's never too crowded and i've been really happy with the instructors for group classes MINUSES: the design/installation! shower heads fall off; the industrial-chic flooring in the locker rooms is like a slip-n-slide when it gets wet/is a lawsuit waiting to happen; and the floor is uneven by the stairwell in a way that catches the foot and nearly sends you down the stairs if you're not careful. the architects or interior designers did a lot of work to make the place look great, but they picked materials that aren't functional, or necessarily safe, and cut corners on finishing. i club hop regularly and haven't seen these problems elsewhere. read more

Something is always out of service here - whether it's the tvs on every cardio machine, the AC is too cold or the steam room... every time I visit it's a disappointment. For a new club, it's in rough shape. Also - the lifting and loud dropping of heavy weights is SO awful here. Didn't realize this was a Gold's Gym type environment. Not worth the $$$ read more

I've been to a few Equinox location and this location is the best location that I have been so far. On Friday November 17, 2017 I came to this location and one of ur employees was cleaning the locker room and she always does a good job in the locker room I don't have any complain about this young lady. But it was an incident this today that think you have to look into. I was listening to the conversion with ur MOD and your other employee. The way your MOD speaks to your employee its wrong. I will write a letter to HR Because the way she was calling this girl out of her name in the locker room in front of customers its wrong. She's out place for doing that. This is Harassment at a job. And if i saw it everyone else in the locker room it n was talking about it. Management needs to do a better job. read more
