As someone who wants to start riding, the amount of information to consider when buying gear can be overwhelming. But I great experience at Cycle Gear San Marcos because of Colin and Johnny!! I was trying on helmets for over the course of two separate visits and they were both very attentive, knowledgeable and patient. There was no pressure to buy anything and assistance was only a call away. These guys will take care of you when you visit and I'm looking forward to coming back! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! They went above and beyond with my helmet and glove purchase. In particular: - Colin, whose enthusiastic and jovial energy make it a joy to be a returning customer - Johnny, whose competence and professionalism vastly exceed his pay grade and age You won't regret paying them a visit! read more

This is my go to company for any helmet needs. The selection is usually pretty good compared to other businesses in my area.

I have been going to this location for years now and customer service has gone down hill every visit. This last time I went in I was looking to purchase a new helmet and Bluetooth system. After standing in front of the helmets for 15 minutes uses, never being greeted while one employee sat there going through his phone and the other 2 just talking to each other. I walked up and asked about the helmet I wanted. One guy looked it up and said it was not available. He asked me to hold on while he went to help another employee in the back. 10 minuets pass and I still am not helped. Finally I left. I went online to see who I could speak to about the lack of customer support. I received a email from a nice young lady who said she would pass the complaint to the district manager and I would receive a call from him. Been almost a month now and no call. I will never shop Cycle Gear for anything again. Customer service is non existent and the youn guy they have working at this location are more involved on their phones or talking to each other. read more

Get your gear here! If they don't they will order it for you! I started coming to this store about 15 years ago? Before I was a Yelper. LOL It is always pretty well stocked but also can order anything for you. This is my spot to start shopping for any of my motorcycle needs. Hit or miss if you get a good parts guy/girl. I have been in when the guys behind the counter could care less if I was there or helped and also when someone walked right over to me to see if I needed anything. My last few visits KRISS was the BEST! 2 Kids behind the counter had no idea about helmets or gloves and she had all the answers, suggestions and knowledge to help me make a educated decision on my accessories. And she saved me about $200 on my last visit! Military discount and RPM membership deals. A good way to save some cash on good products! read more

I had like 40 minutes until my first motorcycle class zoom and I wouldn't have time to buy gloves before the first day of riding. Well I had a month of time but didn't use any of that time, so as I said, I didn't have time. A yelp search showed me this place and when I asked a friend he also recommended this place. I walked in and immediately thought hmm this place might carry enough motorcycle equipment. Kyle, one of the guys who works there, came up and introduced himself pretty quickly. He asked if he could help and I told him about my sudden and surprise need for gloves. He asked a couple questions and referred me to gloves that were in line with what I had researched and got recommendations for and left me to make decisions. There was no up selling or referring me to a product that cost twice as much that a novice like me doesn't need. read more

Loved it here. Issac (I think that was his name) was super helpful in helping my girl choose her first helmet. They got a huge selection and a pretty nice return policy as well. I'll be coming back when I need gear in the future! read more

I needed to replace my SNELL-2010 helmet, and the team here was VERY helpful. The helmet will be used in a car as well, so I was thinking about the modular helmet style...but they steered me away from that straight away since none (or at none they had) are SNELL rated. I ended with an updated model of the Shoei helmet that I had been using, and this one is SNELL-2020, so I should be set for awhile. They took the time to point out some details of the helmet, like the accomodation for a mic (which I'll need on the track), and how to remove the window (which I don't want in the car). Lastly, after purchase, I remembered to ask about the anti-fog shield for the window. They noted that it was included in the box, and asked if I would like for them to apply it. As they have far more experience with this than I, not to mention my being a klutz, I happily accepted their offer. The only bummer is that they do not stock TourMaster products (I was looking to replace some great boots, and wanted to stay with TourMaster), though they could special order TourMaster if needed. Overall, though, I was thrilled. Special shout-out to Colin for his knowledgeable assistance on everything, and to the other gentleman behind the counter (sorry I missed your name!) for the great assist. read more

Love this store. just an up date my Sena Bluetooth was acting up and cutting out in one ear. I rode in with my helmet and said hey I bought this here and its not working. The clerk asked if I bought the 2 year warranty I said IDK , I just remember buying it here. Then she looked it up on the computer and walked away, came back with a new one in the box and said here ya go. I said that's it she said yup, unless you want to upgrade. I asked how much and it was only like 14 dollar difference to upgrade to the 20S model. plus the new 2 year warranty for 15 bucks , that's a no brainier I said sure lets do it. i took the old one out and gave it to them and rode away with a brand new one for under 30 bucks. I really like there warranty policy. I will be shopping her for many years to come. read more

Kyle was extremely helpful. My two teens were getting gear today and they needed helmets & boots and more for riding. I gotta say, the staff and selection at Cycle Gear hit a solid 5 stars for me. I am a completely new rider, and the staff here at this location made me feel particularly comfortable with the info I came in with, as well as the suggestions they had for gear I should be looking at. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The gear they stock offers a decent selection, of course leaning towards their in house brands (Sedeci and Bilt), but you can get most popular brands here. All in all, for gear and knowledge, this is where you want to be! read more

Great customer service. The only reason why it's four stars is, most products are ordered. So you need lead time. Moat of the stuff I wanted/need have to be shipped. From HJC helmets to riding jackets. read more

I have been trying to get new motorcycle helmets, with comms, for Colleen and I. I was working with the two dealerships which I have used for years. But neither could come through with what I need, likely due to supply chain issues. (Note: I wear a size 8 hat for helmets can be an issue). No disrespect for either. I will continue to shop with them. After over six months and no new helmet, I gave up and canceled orders. Then I went to Cycle Gear in San Marcos to see what could be done. I dealt with Kriss (who is either the manager or should be as all the employees followed her instructions). She did lead us away from the bargain helmets, but I had already decided I would suck it up and buy a decent brain bucket. Kriss fitted us for two matching Shark modular helmets. Of course mine was not in stock at the shop, but in stock at the warehouse. Fast forward one week and we are back to pick up our gear. Kriss spent well over an hour helping to properly fit our helmets, install the comms, connect the comms to our phones, and teach us how to use them. And when she was done, she also fixed a glitch with Rever Pro on my phone. I am truly happy with Cycle Gear San Marcos, and especially the service above and beyond by Kriss. read more

The staff here are insane! I walked into the store and went up to a man named Isaac, all I said was "Hey I'm gonna be a first time rider, and I need everything." He immediately got to work helping me pick out everything in my budget. He was patient, he understood I was nervous so he was very reassuring, and extremely friendly. While I walked around, other workers greeted me with the same energy as well. Customer support is one of the most important things for a successful business and I can 100% tell you that this place has it down. If you are new, come here. I can vouched for you that they will treat you with respect the same way they treated me. I am definitely coming back! read more

I guess they should receive high praises here. They sold me a new Shoei X12 and visor to go a long with it! Best prices around. I've tried to look for the best prices online for the new X12 helmet. They had theirs on sale for wayyy lower and they even had a RAD program that will beat out the other prices with the lowest sale prices around too. The lady who helped me was very nice, pleasant not pushy with the service. That coupled with the lower prices and LEO discount, I was SOLD!!! Thanks C.G. read more

Cycle Gear - Courtesy of C.G. San Marcos. Thanks! - Motorcycle Gear Near Me - San Marcos, California

HUGE SUCCESS! II came in to find a jacket for my wife so she can go on her first ride with me. I can't tell you how important it was that she have a good experience because she was already apprehensive about motorcycle riding and I needed her to enjoy this part of the experience. (If a girl can't enjoy shopping for a jacket then this whole riding thing would be over before it's even started ;) Kriss (a manager) didn't know that this was a big deal for me but it didn't matter. She was excellent. She was very courteous and attentive, offered lots of valuable advice and helped my wife enjoy trying out the gear. She came away excited about the upcoming ride and Kriss did her part brilliantly. I'd definitely go out of my way to this store vs closer locations for this kind of service. Thanks Kriss!!! read more

I love the dudes that work here. They understand what customer service is and how to deliver on it. They can get most anything you want/need as they have Revzilla and their warehouse to select from. Good selection of street bike gear but I only wear Dainese (yes, I know) so that's all I ever look at or care about. Also, they have quite a lot of helmets (Aria, HJC, Shoei, AGV). Oil, chain lube, tires, boots, suits, paddock stands, etc. You need something for your bike chances are good you can get it here. read more
