. Unfortunately I looked at the reviews and believed that I could trust this shop to be transparent with pricing. A couple red flags I should have noticed from the start was how they refused to quote me for the job. I got several quotes around RTP to bench mark the replacement of the transfer case chain and this was the only shop that wouldn't provide me a quote unless I dropped off my SUV and it would be a 160 diagnostic fee. I physically went into the shop to speak with David the service advisor and he mentioned how they were experts in MB, we discussed the common issue with the stretching of the borgwarner transfer case chain and it gave me confidence that these guys knew what they were doing. He also told me that they would not be the cheapest shop, but they will price accordingly. Prior to coming into the shop I asked David to provide me with a clear answer on the break down of parts and labor associated with the repair. They were not able to do that and kept beating around the bush giving very arbitrary numbers. The parts itself is 100 bucks and a liquid gasket is 10 bucks, so labor ended up being 1700! David was not able to give me the break down and at one point to me the gasket was priced at 50-100 dollar range. In the end it wasn't worth my time to argue with these guys as they continue to give me the sales pitch of "we sell a solution and do not provide a break down of labor cost" I can clearly see why they use that line because based on my calculations their labor rates are 300-400 per hour. When I picked up my SUV I got the invoice and asked for a break down of the repairs. Adam came out and discussed with me how they don't break down the cost and how they provide a solution. He asked if they came in at a lower price would I be so concerned about the transparency and pricing break down. I, of course, would not be as concerned about the breakdown because the math would have worked out. Even if you were priced at a 30% premium to other independent shops that would be reasonable, but in the end their pricing was as much as MB dealership prices which break down their parts and labor cost. Even McLaren breaks down their parts and labor cost, so I am not sure why it was such a big deal. In the end the pricing was reduced from 1793 plus tax for the repair to 1700. Lesson learned for me to not blindly trust any shop if they are not willing to quote for a specific repair. read more

These guys are top-notch! I have been working with CW Performance for the last 18 months after moving to Fayetteville with my 2008 E320 Blutec sedan, and have been consistently impressed with their efficiency, pricing, and high-quality work. Being that this car is my first Mercedes-Benz and first diesel engine, I did a good amount of research to find a reliable repair crew. Fayetteville offered few rated/reviewed repair shops and one over-priced dealership- which is why I first drove the 100+ miles round trip to these guys. Worth every mile. So far I've had my oil changed twice, serpentine belt, engine air filter, fuel filter, and glow plug module replaced, and have had perfect results every time. When I've waited for my car to be serviced, it's usually 1-2 hours max, and they have a comfortable waiting area with wi-fi so I can make good use of the time. This last service I wasn't able to come during their M-F business hours so Curt (a pleasure to work with) recommended I reserve use of one of their "loaner cars" to drop-off/pick-up my car after work. As I say, I've been nothing but impressed with CW Performance, and expect they will continue to exceed my high expectations. read more

Excellent service, nicest people I've met, very knowledgeable staff, very decent price, and best of all - you don't have to deal with crappy service like you would at local Mercedes dealerships. Clean and modern waiting area, fast internet, free coffee/water/sodas. I knew I found the right place to service my Benz when I called last week to ask a simple question "hey, can you guys get rid of the out dated teleaid message on my e-class instrument cluster?" Adam was who I talked to - he was extremely polite, helpful, not rushed - was such a pleasure to speak with. Made my appointment while I was on the phone with Adam. Showed up today, 1/23, and met the owner, I must have asked him 20 questions and he took his time to answer my questions, super nice guy. I also asked if he could help recommend an inspection place because I need to have it done. Well, I was on the phone working and he got one of his staff to take my car and got it inspected...this is what you call SERVICE!!! Wow! If you have a Mercedes you need to take your car here. If you have an AMG, you NEED to take your car to these guys. If you buy a Mercedes don't you deserve to have a Service "Experience" not a service nightmare? Curt is awesome, best customer experience I have ever had in a repair shop. If you want to support an honest business owner that's an AMG fan and is an expert in all that there is Mercedes, take your car to CW Performance. If you'd rather empty your bank account while being taken advantage of, please continue to go to the dealership service center. FWIW, I'm a car guy. I know my way around an engine block and I'm very particular about my cars. It's the little details that get me. I'm a seasoned car repair customer and am much more demanding than the typical guy looking to just fix an issue. Found these guys by recommendation after spending many dollars at other local shops (2) trying to diagnose an issue with my s420. Curt knew very quickly the area of concern just watching the car idle. He was spot on correct and made no bones about it, the repair would be expensive. I had just wasted 2 grand at the "other" MB experts in town that either didn't know what to do or just took me for some funds. They fixed my car the first time and took me from disgust with my decision to buy it, to actually enjoying drive time. The money wasted on poor shops, if applied to a quality shop like CW, would have saved me funds in the long run. This is the first shop I've found that can walk the walk. I am a car enthusiast and I have had Mercedes for several years, old and recent, currently own 4 of them. I discovered CW Performance only in 2016 when I brought my 2011 ML 550 for them to do a pre-purchase inspection. My very first impression from talking to Curt was excellent.
