This pharmacy is terrible----they used to be really good, but in the past 6 months they have really gone downhill. 3 months in a row, they claimed that they didn't have the prescription that I needed refilled and that they needed to call my doctor to have it verified. Three months in a row they told me he denied it. Knowing that my doctor would not deny it, I asked to speak to the pharmacist each time, and he told me every time that my perscription was already ready and waiting for me to pick it up. Like most medicines, there is a slight withdrawal if you don't take it. Since they kept telling me that the perscription was unavailable, I would have to wait a day or two thinking the medicine was unavailable for me, each month I got sick and had to take a day off of work until I could get back to normal. I asked my doctor about it a couple of weeks ago when I saw him, apoligizing for the pharmacy calling him so much to refill the perscription when they actually already had it ready and he had no idea what I was talking about. He said on my file it showed nothing at all about a pharmacy calling to get a refill for me. This place is terrible. DONT GO HERE. read more

A candid review from a physician My MA faxed in a prescription for phenobarbital for a patient today around 4:30 PM. I'm paged at 5:45 by the patient. She tells me the pharmacy told them we did not take care of this. I check our electronic record and see that this was faxed in. I call the pharmacy and I am transferred to the pharmacist. She begins by telling me that MA's get tired of waiting on hold for two or three minutes and hang up, and that perhaps that is what happened. I explain that the prescription was faxed in, not called in. She tells me that she was there all afternoon, and no-one from our office sent in a fax or made a phone call. Moments later she says she found the RX. She explains that the issue was not that they did not receive the fax, it is that they cannot accept faxed triplicates due to the "VOID" watermark. I ask why no-one called us to let us know. She tells me that there was a pile of 15 prescriptions. She then tells me that it came in "after hours" at 5:30. I tell her that my staff left at 4:30 so it could not have come in at 5:30. She says that the fax sometimes takes a bit to go through. I tell her that I find it hard to believe it can take a fax an hour to go through. So ... Pharmacy tells my patient we did not call in or send in their refill request. Not true. Pharmacist suggests that my staff hung up after waiting a couple of minutes and never took care of this. Not true. Pharmacist tells me she is certain they did not get the request. Not true. After discovering they did get the RX, pharmacist tells me they did not call about our error because the RX came in after 5:30 PM. Not true. Pharmacist also says that the reason was that the RX was in a stack of 15 other prescriptions. Don't care. read more

I wish I had the option to not star this at all. Do NOT go here. Let me tell you a story of my ordeal. I am a chronic pain patient. My doctor put me on a new drug. I turned my prescription in to CVS, and they filled it with no problem. They had to call to verify the prescription no problem I understand that. I then told my Doctor the medication worked great so he gave me another prescription, and it was filled with no problem. I then once again a third time got my prescription and turned it in then suddenly there was a problem. The pharmacist told me that what the doctor had prescribed the medicine for was not what it should be used for. I said "EXCUSE ME. You have filled it twice before with out hassle." She then explained to me "floater" pharmacists filled the prescription. That she was waiting for my doctor because she sent my doctor literature. WOW. Frustrated and in tears I left. My Doctor called back the pharmacy, and I heard nothing from the pharmacy, In tears I called the pharmacy and the pharmacist apologized, and said he would fill it. A month later I called for a refill order they told me they had to order the prescription, but that it would be filled the next day. I said "Ok, thank you." The next day I called again to verify that they got the prescription in, and that it would be filled. They pharmacy assured me they did get it in, and that it would be filled after 4pm. At 10 mins to 4 I got a call from the female pharmacist I had previous trouble with before. I recognized her European snooty know it all voice immediately. She told me once again that she didn't feel like filling my prescription, That she has sent numerous literature to my Doctor. In frustrated tears and infuriated I yelled at her. She is not a doctor! That they shouldn't continuously fill a prescription for someone, and then decide not too. I called later that evening, and they told me that suddenly no one could fill my prescription, and that they called around to other pharmacies for me too. I told them I found that VERY hard to believe. I am going to my Doctors office tomorrow to get another prescription written for me, and I will NEVER step foot in CVS Pharmacy again. I love this CVS pharmacy! Sophia helped me and was the most sweet and helpful pharmacy staff I've ever had! She deserves more than 5 stars! Also the pharmacists are amazing! Once I was in on a Saturday night close to closing time and Derek was the only pharmacist working with a long line and fussy customers it was very impressive how he managed to be quick, attentive, focused, polit, professional and efficient. This is the worse pharmacy in Ventura. They threw away over $240 worth of medication that was sent to us and will not replace. After dealing with 3 of their pharmacists that were very rude to us, I am not shocked when their other employees are rude as well. I would not recommend this pharmacy to anyone and would highly recommend you going to Cabrillo or some other pharmacy that will treat you with respect and compassion in your time of vulnerability. read more

This is for the pharmacy only, I have experienced no issues with the rest of the staff. For the past 1.5 years I have been filling my prescriptions here with a lot of patience and perseverance, there has almost always been issues with this place however I have a high BS tolerance! They never refilled prescriptions automatically, although I'm sure all they have to do is check a box for automatic refill. I have asked many times for an automatic refill on my scripts but I was still coming in there 2-3 times a month to get my prescriptions! What's more, three of the women there have been rude to me more than once. After being ignored for about 10 minutes and treated very rudely after that by an employee named Sherin, I had to pull my prescriptions. As a result I will go to an independent pharmacy in seek of at least average customer service and industry standard pharm. tech performance. read more

I have never had an experience such as this one today. I brought my 98 year old dad in to receive a tetanus booster. The pharmacist was ok and pleasant...not outstanding. However, the assistant was beyond rude. So very unkind. We first went to the Ashwood location and were treated with the utmost respect and kindness but they didn't have the tetanus on hand....unfortunately. I'm really disappointed in the set-up of CVS. I'm probably suffering from separation anxiety, but I miss the old Savon! the staff is basically the same: veterans and younger people. they make the place, really. the selection seems smaller, although I think a few items may have actually been added. the pharmacists are knowledgeable, although the lines can be a little tedious, especially on weeknights (between 5-7). the 24hr/7days/wk thing is always convenient, however. read more

I've watched them chit chat in the back while hearing the phones ring on an on. 2 months ago, I decided that after 21 years on the same medication, an anti-depressant, at the same dosage, I wanted to titrate myself off myself off if possible. I didn't refill it for a month and someone from CVS called me to ask me why. Ok that's weird, but he was very nice. I explained the situation but told him that I may go back on it, depending how I felt in a month or so. He said he fully understood and he would put it on hold but I could refill it anytime. After two months I have decided I do need to go back on it. Now I'm told that my refills (which were good until the end of 2017) will not be honored by CVS or transferred. They were removed from the system by someone on the pharmacy staff who decided that I should not have the authority to decide for myself if or how much depression medication I should be taking at any given point and they (the pharmacist) must speak to my proscribing doctor (nurse practitioner) about this. I get that they called me because cvs pharmacy is constantly being pushed by upper management to keep profits up and if so much as one customer doesn't refill their usual prescription, they have lost revenue, so they feel forced to chase after business but this medication wasn't even on autofill! It's not the pharmacists business why I haven't refilled a prescription. They shouldn't be calling me at home to find out what's going on after one month and they sure as HELL should not be making notes in my profile and then choosing to deny me the rest of my refills based on personal health decisions. I'm an adult, this is my life and my doctor was aware of my plans to get off it. It's just the doggone principal of the thing. 2) I was lied to. But that's not a big deal to them. They just shrug it off and say "sorry. But we still have to speak to your doctor." 3) Now that I'm complaining about it, I'm being treated like a criminal and a drug addict for simply trying to fill a valid script. I've taken this medication daily and have used this same pharmacy for over 8 years now without a break. They act like it's a scheduled narcotic. It's wellbutrin. It has no sedative, stimulant or pain killing effects. The pharmacist at this location seems to thrive on making things as difficult as possible time and time again. The techs are usually very nice, and do what they can to facilitate a workable transaction but the tall guy with the black hair and glasses who seems to be running the show missed his calling. He should not be in the helping profession. I'm switching to an independent pharmacy and I will never go back to CVS. read more

After being a loyal customer and dealing with miss filled prescriptions, long waits and less then acceptable customer service for 16years I will be finally moving my business to a local pharmacy where people are treated with respect. I had to sit and listen to the pharmacist degrade the person in front of me for asking a simple question and when I tried to exchange my narcotic prescription (my dentist prescribed one and my oral surgeon a stronger one and I picked up the wrong one) bottle still full and receipt in hand I was told I should have "already been talked to" and I "couldn't pull a fast one on them" aka, drug addict...so I kept myself in pain while I had to wait for my pain medicine to be ready and took nothing so I could exchange them only to be reprimanded and embarrassed. The icing on the cake is our conversation ended with "that's all good bye" so thank you lady in the glasses for giving me the final push to change my business elsewhere and I suggest everyone else do the same read more

The pharmacy is slow! What I normally wait 15 minutes for at my regular pharmacy turned into a 2 hour wait! Avoid at all cost. It is understaffed or something. They show no promptness towards people who are waiting for their script!!! Poor time management and staffing! read more

0 stars! CVS is just the worst pharmacy Now you guys think your cops trying to control peoples opiate prescriptions LMFAO! Guess what your not the only pharmacy in CA and i thankfully get my 30 day supply with no issues. The pharmacist ( lightly using that word) because if your a CVS pharmacist basically this is the only job you could get!! They think their cops, probation/parol officers trying to control and manipulate Physicians orders. The only outcome of this is family owned and private pharmacies will now be getting busier and you guys are going to lose so many customers! Pharmacies don't dictate patients meds! A pharmacist job is to put the pills in the bottle and make sure they don't give themselves any while doing so... its not rocket science! But what you don't do is think your a MD and determine peoples healthcare! Obviously one reason why you have chosen to only issue weekly dosages is because now clients have to pay a weekly copay! Therefore, your charging customers 3 x the cost! So if your a patient of a MD who prescribes you monthly opiates you might as well pay out of pocket and go to another pharmacy. The fact of the matter is a Physician writes a client a 30 day supply you are required to fill the prescription as written not by your discretion. Therefore only issuing 7 days worth is manipulating the prescription and playing doctor. Some people have to take opiates in this Country and CVS has always judged those people and tried to play cops! Anyone who has 30 day opiate prescriptions do yourself a favor and go to a private or family owned pharmacy! My Pharmacist would never try and demand a 7 day supply only! We don't see our MDs once a week, so why do you think you have the right to mandate how many meds someone gets.. CVS will never dictate my prescriptions! I hope you don't allow them to dictate yours! This is for the pharmacy only; I had no issues with the store portion. Bottom line, unless you enjoy being treated like a roach by the blonde girl behind the pharmacy counter, (I couldn't see a name tag so can't give her name) don't ever use this location. I read all the bad reviews and, as we normally use CVS in another county and always had great service, I had a hard time believing it was so awful. Now I know...it is! I have never been so disregarded and dismissed as I did here. After being told on the phone a prescription was ready, I drive 30 minutes only to wait in line for 25 minutes to find out it was "on hold" and I would hav to get into the "drop off" line. Another wait to talk to the blonde girl to find out the doctor's office had accidentally called it in to the wrong location, then corrected that and called it in here. They had it but would not release it. It was very obvious she knew about this before she ever looked it up, so why was a phone call not made when the mistake was first seen? Anyway, she was quite put out that she had to call the first location to have it transferred. Our regular location would have called at that moment and gotten it done, but she refused saying I could come back after 10 at night and maybe it would be ready. Then she told me I could get in the pick up line again to pay for my groceries if I wanted and turned away totally dismissing me. This antibiotic is for a 90 year old woman who is in pain and now has to suffer another day because this person didn't want to do her job. Yes, I'm quite angry. read more
