It's just so convenient!!! I mean the service is bad. The parking is full of transient people (not their fault). It's so easy to go in and out when we are camping. So I give it a 4 star. Absolutely awful pharmacy, worst in Ventura county . Long wait times poor communication. Rude over worked employees

The service was rude and made us feel unwelcomed there. The cashiers were not unfriendly but very short with my daughter and myself. My inlaws came into town from England to visit our family. We decided to drive from Valencia to Ventura to do some sightseeing and decided to get ice cream on the way. Around 3:20 pm, my daughter and I walked in to get get a scoop of ice cream. I asked the cashier, seeing that the ice cream bins were covered with metal coverings, 'Is the ice cream section closed?' The cashier responded with a sort quip of, 'No, you have to pay here first.' My husband and inlaws walked in afterwards, not hearing the conversation looking at the labels of different ice cream flavors and I explained that they would have to pay first before seeing the ice cream. My 12 year older asks if she could get a sample. The cashier rudely responds 'Not until you pay first.' My husband pays for four single scoops. The other cashier comes over and rudely dishes out the ice cream slamming the metal tops over the ice cream. I believe there needs to be more training in customer service and to make customers feel welcomed. I gave 1 star because the ice cream was good but a '0' for your two employees who clearly didn't like their job. read more

This place is painful to deal with. I have had many prescription filled here and I feel like if I don't call to check they would never get filled. The lady that answers the phone is always rude and very short when I'm trying to inquire about when a prescription will be ready. The standard response is "we're working on it" but several days can pass and I get the same response. Every pharmacy I have ever been to is able to fill a prescription the same day if the medication is in stock but not this place. I think they are horribly understaffed and probably doesn't help that it's the only one on that side of Ventura. read more

I'm on an important medication for a terminal cancer. They are usually out even though I need it every month. Once they told me to drive to Santa Paula & pick it up myself. Horrible! No surprise Ride Aide is going down. They sell a defective item and won't take it back. I purchased Duracell Batteries which have a 10 year warranty and they started leaking acid after one year and Ride Aid Manager told me they do not have to exchange them. I had a wonderful experience yesterday. I was doing a painting job, and desperately needed a pair of strong readers to paint the fine edging. I walked into the store in my scroungy painting clothes, and was greeted politely and directed to the glasses display. I didn't see the magnification strength I needed, so asked a staff member - Alex - if there was any additional inventory. She couldn't find any, BUT SHE GAVE ME HER OWN PAIR. She said they were stronger than she needed, and refused any payment. She saved my painting job, but more importantly, her kindness made my day. Thank you, Alex, and thanks to Rite Aid. read more

I haven't used the pharmacy at this location, I've just come to shop for snacks or small personal items here. It's a clean, modernized store and laid out nicely and well stocked. Staff have always been polite and professional to me and I haven't had to wait too long in the lines to check out. I appreciate that this store is close to the beach and all the stuff on main street, but has its own large parking lot and isn't right in the mess of things with all the pay to park spots etc. It's more casual... the strip mall is a bit run down and the homeless people are a turn off for me, but I still come by if I need something from a drug store. I've tried to get prescriptions here several times. They are never on time, and don't seem to be proactive to fix anything. Most recently I came by to pick up a prescription that should have been ready 3 hours earlier. The pharmacist hadn't checked voicemail in at least 4 hours, so I said I'd come back in 30 to give them processing time. When I returned 45 minutes later, the pharmacist STILL hadn't checked voicemail. She listened to it on speaker four times and finally started processing the prescription. I waited another 20 minutes and then in line again (another 10 minutes). All in all, 1.5 hours... for eye drops. CVS does just fine with the same number of staff. I've given this Rite Aid plenty of opportunities to get my prescriptions correct the first time, but out of 4 times I had prescriptions sent here I have never once been able to just walk in and walk out. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. They had our truck towed!! Due to COVID-19, we have to self quarantined at home. So many businesses had to close. Rite Aid is allowed to stay open, but the parking lot has few cars. We parked and went for a much needed bike ride outside. Afterwards we planned to stock up on household items at Rite Aid. WERE NEVER SHOPPING THERE AGAIN!! I guess they think during a Pandemic and people loosing their jobs, it's a good time to enforce parking rules for their lot. The city isn't enforcing parking laws, but Rite Aid is and were out $375. If they had toilet paper, they would charge 4 times the price. Thats the type of biz they are. read more

He has assisted me with finding items and his AM Laura was very sweet with me when I was having issues finding a product. I would most definitely come get my sundries from here moving forward. If you are prescribed a scheduled drug, just know that this pharmacy makes their own rules about when it can be filled and may blame your insurance company or you, when that is not the case at all. For me, it was none other than a national holiday weekend when my medication could be filled, according to them. I was stigmatized and treated with suspicion by the pharmacist for wanting to pick up my medication a few days early before traveling. I believe the pharmacist's exact words were, "Why do you need more medication? You JUST picked this up." I had picked up a 30-day supply 24 days prior. They blamed my insurance company, saying they wouldn't pay until the holiday weekend and made me pay out of pocket for the two day difference. However, when I called my insurance company to verify this, they said this couldn't be further from the truth and called them to get answers. What they found was that the truth is, Rite Aid won't fill any scheduled drug even 2 days early before you run out. They advised me to switch pharmacies immediately. So I did, and I'm now treated with courtesy and dignity with no issues. I found out that my insurance company does in fact allow me to pick up this particular medication in advance as needed. I will say that all my dealings with Rita were great. She was always kind and professional and seems to care about her job and customers. However, given the leadership at this pharmacy, I now understand the numerous negative reviews. read more

Dude. They have an ice cream counter. I didn't notice it initially because I was looking for some cheap eyeshadow to replace the stuff I forgot. And then I ended up grabbing a bath towel (beach towels were $5 more), a paddle board, temporary tattoos, a couple magazines, and a water. With the exception of an audio cable (that I honestly didn't really look for) I found everything I needed for the afternoon. If you need something, it should be fairly easy to find here. Save some room for ice cream. read more

I want to like this place, but I can't. Don't get me wrong, the selection is good the prices are right and the place is clean and well stocked. Overall the shopping experience is good. But.... 1. The parking lot. Before you even get into the store you have to deal with the homeless population that seem to migrate here. 2. This place ALWAYS seems to be under staffed. Every time I've been in here there is only 1 check stand open and it has a line maybe 4 deep. If you want a scoop of ice cream from up front you will have to wait until the check stand line is gone. There are other workers stocking shelves, why not open another lane when the line is backed up? 3. The Pharmacy. I've had nothing but bad experiences with prescriptions here. Lost prescriptions, claiming my insurance is 'invalid and/or expired.' I'm not saying this place is to be avoided or anything, just know what to expect. I'll continue to shop here for basics but I'll get my prescriptions filled somewhere else. However, if the situation here improves in the future I'll be sure to update my review accordingly. read more

I was so happy when Christine, a horrible employee with the absolute worst customer service was back. She was so rude to my mother. My mother spoke very broken English and Christine ridiculed her for the way she pronounced a word. This employee also wouldn't even give her the change in her hand but just set it down even after my mom held her hand out to accept it. So...the pandemic hit and I was so happy to see that lady gone...pandemic is over and who do I see...CHRISTINE! Can't believe it. I even went to the manger when I had that horrible experience with her and management dismissed it and made excuses for her. So when I see her back I told her how shocked I was to see such an awful person back working with the public and you know what she told me. "Well, I've worked here for 15 years and after a while you just get tired of customers " Shame on you Rite Aid. They have a really nice selection of garden tools and miscellaneous items. Well stocked makeup and it is clean. I don't mind the homeless they don't bother people. It's way more expensive than target or Walmart. Forget about buying canned cat-food It's fascinating to walk around because well hey you have to because you have to wait for your prescriptions. Writing this review in a huge amount of pain because rite aid pharmacist is a moron. I had surgery YESTERDAY and they wouldnt fill my script because they need to get ahold of the dr. first. it is after hours and they claim they cant get ahold of the Dr. So I called the same number they did (which is written on the prescription) The number had an automated message to say that for dr vists the office is closed, however immediately after that it says to wait on the line. I did so, someone answered, paged my dr, and she called back within 15 min. The pharmacy clearly didnt listen to whole message even tho they were told all of this when the prescription was dropped off. I call back to tell them again to stay on the line, but the pharmacist is conviently at lunch (at 2:00). this place is horrible. read more

We came here with paper prescription. Called ahead to make sure they have those flue medicines available. Then dropped the prescription at pharmacy and they asked to come back in 15-20 mins. We waited for 30 mins went to the counter. Lady at the counter said prescription in not ready very rudely. She also stated many people don't have prescriptions ready. I asked her politely how long it will take and we would have come later if they would have told us earlier than waiting in parking lot. I get rude reply to this that many people haven't have there prescription ready in time. Now we need prescription because someone in family is sick and goal is to get first dose asap. Now I understand that sometimes it could've employee shortage but I don't expect staff to be rude to family of sick and then give estimated time of pick up which is more than 30 mins off. It is sad and I feel for other elderly and sick people who come to this pharmacy because it's closer to them. Very sad. I would give negative rating just because of rude staff I had to deal with. read more

4 stars all for Tim who is by far the best ice cream dipper of any rite aid. Thrifty ice cream is cheap and not premium but for those of us who remember it being 15 then 20 cents, it's nostalgia. Most rite aid employees don't get as excited to serve it but this Tim was kind to the disabled, slow lady with the cane in front of us,conversational with the young guy in front of us at the check stand and dipped an awesome perfect scoop for my kids and us. Also there was a nice employee who let my son into the bathroom also. Look, this is not a high end place, but I like the small courtesies they gave us and you can't fake kindness. read more

As RITE AIDS go, I am always happy to find what I am looking for there, or something close to it! It has saved me at the last minute from having to search wider and further for my needs (when I haven't had the time to do so). It's a neighborhood store that I have come to count on. Tonight was one of those nights. I've been making it around on the bike. So tonight after making my kid dinner and tidying up a bit, I looked up at the clock and was surprised and relieved to see that I still had about 20 mins to get up the street to our neighborhood Rite Aid. The trip took 15 minutes. I was dismounting and getting ready to breeze by the finish line and in through the front door of Rite Aid when my forehead nearly collided into the closed/ electronically locked glass doors, and the music stopped mid-track. The entrance to Rite Aid was closed. It was 9:50pm and every place I had checked indicated that this Rite Aid's doors would remain open until 10pm(Friday night ). The security guard surfaced as my knock had begun to transform into something closer to a bang, ( but a polite one). Through the door she gave me the party line- something along the lines of "closed now! Come back tomorrow!" Surprised that my time keeping had been off, I asked her if it was 10 already. Yes was her reply, followed by an echo of the party line. When I fished my watch out of the bottom of my backpack, it read 9:53. I wondered if she realized? When I tried to get her attention again, through the glass, she fixed her gaze in the other direction. Upset, I stood my ground and asked if I could only return an item. I had finally found the few minutes in the day that I needed to do so. So what if it was 10 minutes before closing? It would have taken only 2. The store manager, Raquel, finally made a guest appearance at the front door. All of this pleading and it still wasn't 10pm yet!!!!! I explained to Raquel that I was under the crazy impression that one could shop there until the posted closing time. Her response: "Corporate was aware that they were closing early because she had called in to get the ok." Unfortunately though the memo did not extend beyond Corporate and this branch. I, for instance, did not receive that memo. And, I have a hunch that the 4 or 5 customers who came along after me, and who were equally annoyed, did not receive it either. Raquel nonchalantly cited staffing issues as she and her fellow Rite Aid employees scooted past us, some on their way to their vehicles and others to rides awaiting. As the parking lot cleared, the store adjacent to Wrong Aid, came into view.
