This CVS is located in Ventura. Located in the Montalvo Square Plaza. Everything is fairly big here was able to identify where my product was fairly easily and quick. Glad all the aisles and sections had good signage. And the self check out is very easy and quick to do however, even though with me accidentally tripping it up, the worker here was able to get me through the process very easily. I always get tripped up when it's placing your item and then bagging it for the scales. Anyway, it's always embarrassing when the team members have to come and save me. CVS - 1740 Victoria Avenue, Ventura CA I had to pick-up a couple prescriptions today and wanted to share how great my visit was. I had a pick-up order that I used with the extra coupons. It is always nice to get some great deals. I ended up paying 10 cents for my order. I will take that as a win. When I entered the store, I went to the front counter, and the nice lady was very sweet, she handled my pick-up order quickly and efficiently. Awesome customer service. The pharmacy area really has such wonderful people. The staff have such a challenging job, but they move prescriptions with precision and exactness and fastidiousness. I am so grateful to everyone here, they are so great to work with. This is hands down the nicest group of people I have dealt with. I have had multiple eye issues thus resulting in lots of eye drops. They have handled all the urgent requests from the specialists in such an efficient manner. They go out of their way to help people. I appreciate that the lipsticks here are taped shut so ppl are not tempted to try them on their hand. They also have the colors I like and the drug store brands I use! Yes CVS.. you get me. Like the CVS down on Channel Islands Blvd. they are very short staffed... one cashier and when there's 4+ customers waiting in line it's very frustrating! The gal working the front was very nice and kept her cool under pressure but still? Customers are not happy especially when there's no other employees in sight. Absolutely the worst Pharmacy in the area. When doctors send in prescriptions, and insurance companies require, "Prior Authorizations," this pharmacy will refuse to fill the prescription, without the prior authorization, and will also refuse to allow "One-time exemptions," for patients to pay out of pocket. When a patent finally gets their medication approved with a prior authorization, the pharmacy goes further in endangering their customer's health by not even having the decency to hold a supply of the medication aside for those patients that had to wait for their "prior-authorization" to be approved. The pharmacy will offer to order the medication, causing an additional 2-3 day delay on top of the 3-4 day delay patients had to wait for their prior authorization to be approved. If you have cancer, or MS, or auto-immune problems, suffer from pain, have ADHD, and so much more, this CVS will allow you to medically suffer with possible long-term side effects for no good reason. I recommend that no one to stop on by and give this place a try. Their policies put their customer's health in danger. read more

What a mess. Last year I moved to this CVS from the Walgreens on Vineyard because... well you've either been there and know or you may read my review... At first things were great, great service, quick line, fast vaccine service. Everything had gone very well. Fast forward to about middle of February (2023) and things started to go very poorly. Gone are the smiling happy faces and cheerful staff. I used to get notification texts that an Rx was ready. Instead I received one saying I had until end of the day to pick up or it would have to be reordered. On Monday I was given an Rx. And on Wednesday late evening I received the text you have today to pick it up or it was going back and would have to be re-prescribed. So today, Thursday, I go in about 12:45 and the pharmacy is closed. I guess they close for lunch now between 12 - 1 for lunch. There are about a dozen signs saying new pharmacy hours.... not one of them says anything about being closed for one hour in the middle of every day. I can understand the ones that close for lunch on the weekends. But what about folks that only have their lunch hours to deal with prescriptions? I don't know what changed last month but it is palpable and dramatic. So, the question is where is there a pharmacy anyone is happy with. I don't even need weekends or late night hours my needs are minimal. But OMG I'd hate to really need something that was critical. read more

The young pharmacist who answered my call this morning made no attempts at courtesy and just told me that I am making her feel uncomfortable. This, after I was on hold for 47 minutes to speak with her. Upon hearing this information, she tells me that she doesn't know how it's possible for me to be on hold that long when they just opened at 10. If you don't know, employee of the CVS I've been on hold for, then I most certainly don't either. If you're looking for rudeness, lack of empathy, and robotic personnel who will tell you to go somewhere else to fill your prescription, then this is the place for you. Thanks Katie. I wish I would have read ALL the reviews about this pharmacy before I had my medications transferred to this location. Here I thought, this place would be more convenient since it was closer to my home than the one in Oxnard, but NO... Although closer, the customer service is by far the worse from any CVS pharmacy I've ever been to. Katie, a pharmacist/pharmacy tech (whatever) is the rudest person I've ever dealt with over the phone. Idk if she was just having a bad day herself, but she was extremely rude with apparent attitude the last time I had to refill my prescription. All that I have to say is, if you don't like your job then quit, it's not the end of the world. Lastly, when requesting for a pick up, always subtract the time by an hour from the actual time you would like to pick it up, otherwise it won't be ready in time. I get a call the day before that my prescription will be ready by 12:00 the next day. When I get there at 5:20 the next day they have not even started on my prescription. They tell me it will be ready in 15 min and they will announce it over the PA system. After 20 min I go back there and it's ready but they did not announce it over the PA system.They told me that they are a week behind in filling prescriptions at this location. How do you get a week behind? The pharmacy tech had a big frown on her face and it was obvious she was not happy that I said something to them about being told it would be ready by noon the next day and when I got there they had not even started on it yet. read more

Lots of pharmacy mix ups, makes me feel like I have to babysit any medications that I have sent there. Some of the pharmacy staff is very nice and friendly but I wouldn't say it makes up for the staff that blames you for mixups or gives only partial info. read more

I've been to this CVS many late nights, when nothing else is open. They are open 24 hours, so always reliable for whatever I need.

I visit many different locations of Longs Drugs (don't ask why) and the Victoria location is one of their better ones. Why? 1. It's newer and larger. I think it's about three years old. The aisles are wide. 2. Clean and organized. It doesn't seem to be that popular of a location so the shelves are well-stocked. At some locations, people steal the makeup testers or smear makeup on the displays. I didn't see evidence of this. 3. Wider array of merchandise. Not all Longs carry the imported (European) grocery items like this one. They have imported cookies, olive oil, etc. They also carry the latest makeup collections from Rimmel (widest variety of the Underground collection that I have seen so far) and other drugstore brands like Revlon, Cover Girl, Neutrogena. Longs carries gardening products, clothing, Hallmark cards, candy, stationery items, toys, and then of course pharmacy items. They develop photos on site. This location even has Ventura themed souvenirs. It's open till midnight. read more

I had promised myself to avoid returning to CVS but discovered they had dispensed the wrong size lancet with the blood test kit. The visiting nurse my doctor had designated to follow my case identified the mistake. When I went back back to CVS, everyone in the pharmacy recognized me. I ponder whether the mistake was deliberate to put me in my place. What should have been simple across the counter exchange was dragged out elaborately. They even had the temerity to question me about signing their required forms. If this is really how CVS really wants their customers handled, the organization in bound up by accountants, lawyers and stupid M&A sclerosis that is about to kill it. I won't be back. read more

Absolutely the best experience with a pharmacy ever - the tech had everything ready, explained and resolved an issue with an OTC med I had selected, was courteous and attentive to other customers at the same time. This is the best CVS Pharmacy in the area. Ten times better service than Port Hueneme.

On 3/24/2020 I went to CVS at 9AM to pick up a medication for my grandma. She has 2 forms of insurance and she previously paid $40. They told me is was $420!!! I told them to look up her records, both of her insurances, the guy behind the counter just got another tech who didn't look up anything and tried to convince me to pay the $420. Instead I went home and checked with another pharmacy who said it would be $33. I hate that they are trying to take advantage of people, what if they had convinced my grandma to pay $420?! And what is in it for the techs to not do their due diligence? Are they taking a cut? Do not go here. read more

I went in yesterday for the first time to pick up a new prescription and the ladies at the pharmacy counter were very helpful with answering my questions. The store was clean and well organized. I seemed to have spent a little more than I had intended so I wanted to go over my purchases. Unfortunately, when I got home I realized I lost my receipt. I called the store this morning and Annette went above and beyond to completely exceed my expectations by far! I am completely floored by her amazing customer service skills! Not only was she able to obtain a copy of my receipt for me, but she went out of her way to answer questions I had about a charge that looked unfamiliar. Turns out everything was correct on my receipt and I am a happy customer. Thank you so much for your help Annette, and thank you cvs for providing employment for this amazing person! Worst CVS I have been to. All I want in a pharmacy is to be able to drop off an rx and pick it up when expected. This has not happened ONE time since I have started using this location. (Once I was even given someone else's meds which is sketchy and a total HIPPA violation!). I have been patient through all of these until my experience this past week. Went to drop off my rx on a Wed, for a birth control stressing that I did not want the generic form as I have had a bad experience with a past "generic" birth control and the rx is written for the brand. They told me no problem and that it would be ready the next day (Thursday) by 3. I arrive the next day to find out they were trying to fill it with the generic and explain again that I do not want the generic. They tell me to wait and that they are going to look for the brand in stock stating they would call me back. I wait for about 40 mins, listening for my name, then finally go up to the counter myself to be told that they do not have the brand in stock but that they would make sure to communicate I do not want the generic and it would be ready the next day (Friday) by 3. An hour wasted at Cvs, not too happy but ok with waiting one more day. So Friday comes and I arrive to pick it up. It takes them 10 minutes to find my rx mis-filed under the wrong letter and yep...generic AGAIN. So at this point I am trying to hold back the fact that I'm pissed. I'm told that there was no communication that I wanted the brand and that the brand is not there. She called around and told me it was at another location. I asked her if she could verify that they had the correct dosage before I drove to the next one. Upon the second call she was told that they actually do NOT have it. (Good thing I asked her to call!) So I am now told they can't get it in until the following Tuesday. At this point I asked for my rx back, took it to Target ( on Mills where I have never gone before), and they were able to fill it with NO problems within an hour. Kudos Target pharmacy -that is how a pharmacy should run! read more

This is the worst pharmacy EVER. For the love of all that is holy, get your meds filled anywhere but here. Dealing with this pharmacy's incompetence has been a nightmare for both my mother and I. As another reviewer said, you can never just drop off and pick up later without a hitch. There is always some delay or f-up. Sometimes it is an issue with the insurance or drs office, but they never want to follow up on any problem for you. They go "okay, yeah" and try to get you off the phone. Then they completely forget about it, lose the information etc. Zero customer service. you have to be on their a** all day every day if you want to just get your d*** medicine already and even then it will probably take a week or more. Seriously, CVS corporate needs to look into this place or something. They're always whining that they're "behind" and blaming it on whatever recent holiday. So HIRE MORE PEOPLE then! I don't know if they're truly understaffed, most of the staff is incompetent, or both. read more

I usually don't pick up my prescriptions from a pharmacy, I have always used a mail order service. But this last week I had to get an emergency prescription but after I got the paperwork straight from my doctor I went to pick it up. The pharmacy tech name was heather. She was very pleasant and had everything ready and waiting for me when I went in. She was super pleasant and has an awesome bedside manner. If I have to pick up another prescription I will be back. Horrible service! If I could give zero stars, I would. Every time I have been here it is a hassle. I will never go back. Today I took in a script and they refused to fill it. They said it isn't time??? I just had an appt. on Friday and my Dr. Changed my dosage on my usual med. The pharmacist assistant thinks it is up to him to decide my dosage? It is the same medication and same doctor I always use/fill. I pay cash. There is always some hassle. Now I have to go to a hospital emergency room and pay for a visit there because being without my medication is life-threatening for me. If you need your medication, DO NOT USE CVS.
