So went in this morning a little before 9 am to get my prescriptions filled from my ER visit yesterday. They were already slammed! Navdeep was very nice. She said it was an hour wait but would rush through my one prescription ASAP since I needed to start taking it. She actually had all three ready in 30 minutes not bad. Very unprofessional! Besides from not answering calls during the day, i was scheduled to get my covid shot and flu shot yesterday at 10pm, and when i got there, pharmacy was closed. Very unprofessional and inconvenient! They didn't even bother to call people with appointments that they are going to be close, didn't even update their website and still gave people appointments. Shady!!! I got a prescribed "Flonase" for my daughter from her doctor. When I called to see if it was filled, they refused to fill it and told me to buy it over the counter! This is specifically for an employee named FAHAD. First of all I've been coming here for over 10 years and have created genuine connections with previous employees. FAHAD FAILS to deliver proper customer service. When asked for help directly by one of his coworkers he ignored her and kept doing his tasks; another employee then said "we need help at checkout" and he still took his sweet time. His coworker assessed the situation and had taken over graciously, then a few minutes later he heads over to the register where customers were already being GENEROUSLY helped (I'll get her name next time I come in) . His lack of urgency was where it started, then I come to checkout after waiting quite some time and he tells me to go checkout at the front even though I'm already paying for my prescriptions. I'm sorry but that's the FIRST time in over 10 years that a CVS employee tells me that. I then asked the front desk cashier if that's a new rule just for my knowledge, and she lets me know that I can DEFINITELY pay for my products at the pharmacy especially if I'm already paying for my medicine. I have shopped here for years and every time I've have encountered the male employee with the longer black hair, I have been treated with unacceptable rudeness. Why 2/5? Recently the homeless situation in front and around the store has become problematic. I've seen several fights in the parking lot, 2x's observed guys shooting up, and very aggressive panhandling. It's not safe, especially at night. The pharmacy gets a bad rap. They seem to have an unusually high volume of scripts being down the street from Tarzana Hospital but they power through. Veronica and Tina go the extra mile to get my scripts through insurance and filled quickly. Dealing with doctors offices and insurance companies is a nightmare, try it sometime and you'll appreciate the pharmacy staff. Super friendly staff in the front store retail store. This cvs is nasty. The store is clean but the customers and cashier are awful. I was trying to check out and the cashier was bored and robotic. The other customers get right behind you in line that I moved my purse for fear someone was going to steal my wallet. The guy behind me was drunk at 11:15 am and was in a rush to get his bottle of wine and bottle of brandy. The two times that I've have been here, I had to wait more than 15 minutes just for somebody to come unlock the restroom. I left both times because I was literally about to urinate in public because the staff wouldn't unlock the restroom door for me. They always say somebody is on their way but they take so long that I just end up leaving. When this happened to me the first time, I was cool about it. Pharmacy so understaffed they rush around making mistakes, ignoring phone calls on hold for 45 minutes at a time, no time to answer questions. Pharmacist on duty last Sunday gave over 100 shots. Counsel provided for new medications is brief and doesn't include checking for interactions with drugs patient is already taking as dispensed by CVS. Serious complications have resulted from numerous documented interactions that could and should have been avoided. CVS clearly liable for causing rare and dangerous Seratonin Syndrome by their negligence. Patient has suffered for three months while CVS continued to dispense and refill dangerous medication interactions without informing patient of risk. They were completely unaware of any interaction(s) because they never checked, they failed to do their jobs, and never provided counsel to patient when dispensing new medication. CVS #9670 "Dream Team" is not to be trusted with your medications until they are properly staffed, trained and able to manage the demands of a 24-hour pharmacy without failing in their duty to protect the consumer from harm. Corporate has been informed numerous times that there is a staffing shortage at this location. They have ignored consumer complaints as well as internal requests for more workers. Right now they are concentrating on dumping convenience store products and other things people have come to count on them for, in order to make CVS. less like 7-11 and more like a respectable pharmacy a patient could actually trust. All they will succeed in doing is alienating their current customer base by letting them down when it comes to anything more than a simple prescription. Need milk? Too bad, we don't carry what you need anymore. It's bad for our image. We're a health shop, not a neighborhood resource for late-night necessities. I used to like coming here but not anymore. I'm the past the cvs was always sketchy to begin with. Lots of homeless people right in front of the store. Needles everywhere and filth. The parking lot is not safe. Lots of stealing and robbery going on. Even inside the store I've seen people stealing in there. The last straw was a couple months back. My young family member needed some very important medication and there is a restriction on it for medi cal patients. She's been without it for days. I just found out the facility she was discharged from had put a sticker on the prescription stating that she legally needed to be given 3 days worth while the authorization from medi cal is being processed. They didn't do that. This is literally the difference between life and death for this young person. Their incompetence is inexcusable! SO- here I am, again. At the closest CS to my home. After standing in line for 17 mins just for the woman to have pointed someone in the direction of a OTC medication. There's a pharmacist lady who is "obese" maybe Latina and often sitting on stool at drop off window. I have literally NEVER seen smile! On a few occasions I've seen her be rude to others. And she has been rude to my cousin who happens to be a secret shopper on her off days ‍ and literally could've caused havoc in this lady's life but she's the nice cousin of course. But this review is mainly my testimony of some innocent man who most likely woulld never do a review because he was an slow to speak, small shaken elderly man. She kept cutting him off when speaking, trying to rush him, rolled hEr eyes, just overall if that was my family I would have called corporate IMMEDIATELY. I'm not sure what training is provided or how the employees are motivated or if the woman's attitude is a isolated issue she carries over into her 9-5. I would assume once CVS decided to merge with Aetna, even remodeling their stores (and Tarzana was RECENTLY remodeled ) there'd be a refreshed vibe. Now to be fair, let's not judge them all by the character of this rude pharmacist employee alone. Forgive me for no-names but there's a Asian woman, Indian man, a Latina and another I believe name Amy who could pass for Persian, who work the pharmacy and they are absolutely friendly and approachable! I was a long time customer of Longs Drugs in Tarzana and was generally satisfied with their pharmacy. When CVS bought the business about 10 years ago after experiencing a significant reduction in their pharmacy service and competence, we finally gave up and transferred our drug business to the Walgreens store across the street. The service at Walgreens was acceptable but they had one major benefit over CVS; they actually answer the phone. We stayed with Walgreens for several years until our insurance established CVS as a "preferred pharmacy" where the copay on meds was substantially lower than Walgreens. We tried the Tarzana CVS to fill a simple antibiotic script in early January and I quickly remembered how awful their pharmacy customer service had been (and still is). I quickly checked with the CVS store in Reseda (Victory at Tampa). Night and day. The Reseda store was fast, accurate and very easy to work with. And, best of all, they answer their phone after only a few rings. CVS Reseda = 4 stars (5 for the pharmacy and 3 for the general merchandise part of the store. CVS Tarzana = 0 stars. read more

I write this because many of the pharmacists are not helpful or nice!!! List makes me feel very comfortable about my drug prescriptions and always makes sure there are no interactions!
