CVS Pharmacy on Old Trolley Road in Summerville is one of my favorite drug store and pharmacy combination in the area. I am always impressed with their level of service that they offer everything that they do for their customers. The store is very well managed and organized and consistently gives a pleasant shopping experience.

I had a horrendous experience with the pharmacy. The district manager was able to fix it so i'm updating this review to two stars.

Guerin's Pharmacy is a historic pharmacy that opened in Summerville, South Carolina in 1871. It is…read morethe oldest pharmacy in South Carolina as well as the oldest continuously-operating business in Summerville. It was founded by Dr. Henry Charles Guerin. The roots of the pharmacy go back decades earlier. Dr. C.F. Schwettmann owned a drugstore in Charleston, but it was damaged by cannon fire during the Civil War. He set up a new drugstore in Summerville in 1864. In 1871, Guerin (a former Confederate soldier and graduate of the Medical College of South Carolina) purchased the pharmacy and Schwettmann returned to Charleston. After Guerin passed away, the pharmacy was taken over by his son Dr. Joseph C. Guerin. The younger Guerin's colleague Dr. Herbert F. Dunning later purchased the pharmacy. Since 2014, the owner of Guerin's Pharmacy has been Dunning's grand niece Barbara A. Dunning, RPh. My family and I visited Guerin's Pharmacy this past summer while we were visiting family in town. Our cousins told us to check out a really cool old pharmacy in Hutchinson Square. We had no idea that pharmacies like this still existed; we had only seen ones like this in the movies. In addition to a pharmacy, Guerin's also essentially doubles as a general store where customers can purchase souvenirs, postcards, books, t-shirts, etc. Guerin's is also home to a soda fountain, which were popular in drugstores during the first half of the 20th century but rarely seen today. Customers can get Blue Bell brand ice cream, milkshakes, malts, floats, fountain sodas, hotdogs (with or without chili), pickles, or a number of different treats from the candy counter. My wife and I shared a cup of "Mint Chocolate Chip" ice cream while our sons shared a cup of "Cookies 'n Cream". My wife also enjoyed a strawberry milkshake while I had a bottle of Cheerwine. It was so cool to step back in time at Guerin's Pharmacy! We'll definitely visit again on a future trip to Summerville.

I really appreciate the deli having an area to order the Asian inspired foods and also other daily items on menu hot and fresh. I got the Teriyaki bowl last night and it was pretty good. For years, this location offered top-notch customer service, which truly set them apart. However, in recent years, I've noticed a decline in customer service. The warm, attentive interactions that once defined the Publix experience are becoming harder to find. It feels like the store became a little too comfortable being the only major grocery option in the area for a while--and that has affected how customers are treated. With new competition moving in--Nexton, Moncks Corner, and the upcoming Carnes Crossroads locations--there's going to be more choice for shoppers. I hope this motivates the Cane Bay store to refocus on the exceptional service Publix is known for. I still shop here and appreciate many things about this store, but it's time to step it back up. The customers have noticed the shift.

Nothing! Long story short a second employee comes and doublecheck the box and all the surrounding boxes, still nothing and this time they both go to the back. One guy waiting behind me and about 12 or 13 minutes later one comes back and looks again in the circled area with a little more systematically and orderly approach, Nothing! I look up and in box number 71 at the top and at a distance I seem to recognize my last name on the first label sticking out and when one of them comes back I tell her to see if that is my prescription and LO AND BEHOLD it is my prescription! She comes to me with a surprise expression and when the other comes back she tells her "he found it"! Two stars because two people tried hard but ratgreens system sucks Three months from now I will take it to the competition for refills. It seems like they don't have enough personnel, there is merchandise at the end of every aisle to be put away and almost no customers Bye bye ratgreens store in disarray

I have been a loyal customer of Food Lion for over 10 years at this location. Despite a general…read morereputation against all Food Lions, I have found historically that this store is cleaner, better stocked, fresher produce and cheaper prices than the local HT and Publix. I rarely have to worry about them being out of stock when competitors can be out for weeks. My experience has changed pretty drastically in the last year. Cashiers are rude, no one recognizes who their regulars are anymore, the produce is moldy OR they remove the moldy parts but keep the whole strawberry container at the same price. There was a carton only half full yesterday. Last week it was missing enough that I put it on the scale to weigh it and was not going to pay off season prices while they took food out of the container. Last week someone was eating behind the counter where they make the chicken, in their hair net and everything. The store was still stocked enough, always clean and the produce was OK (knowing how bad it is at HT and Publix) that I ignored the clear decline in this location. Until this past weekend. I went in with my children, and my son was getting a cart for groceries. The store employee, Mathew, was bringing in carts from outside and rammed the carts right into my son. Then he just looked at him and me and said nothing. Absolutely nothing, with his head phones in his ears ignoring the fact he just hit a customer with a long line of carts. So I said something and he still just stood there. Then we went to the produce, where we chose to not buy half the things we needed because it was not fresh and then the apples are bad on the inside that we did buy. It's apple season. There is no reason for rotting apples other than someone else is running your produce department. I don't know what has happened here, whether there was a management change or what, but we are finding a new store. It just isn't worth their attitudes and rotting produce anymore.

My husband and I frequently talk about how incredible it is that we have a local pharmacy in our neighborhood (walking distance for us) with excellent customer service and real people who give us great advice. I've used Walgreens and CVS for so long that I'm used to long waits, unhelpful and impatient pharmacists, and navigating the robot when you try to get in touch with someone about your prescriptions. At this pharmacy, they take 5-10 minutes to fill a prescription, and if there are questions or issues, you can call or text to talk to a real person. And every time they are helpful, patient, and kind. I love that you can get walk in vaccinations too. I recently visited a walk in clinic and needed prescriptions after Park Circle Pharmacy was closed. I dreaded doing so, but I had to send my scripts to a CVS. Immediately I started having issues - no response from CVS, their phone line claiming they were closed, etc. They were nice enough when I arrived, but I didn't get them at the end of the day. The next morning, I got them transferred to Park Circle Pharmacy, and they filled it in 5 minutes with no trouble and they helped me navigate a weird prescription order issue over several phone calls. I'm glad that I'm a relatively healthy person, but I sleep well at night knowing that if I needed a lot of prescriptions, Park Circle Pharmacy would have my back!
