I had to call to verify medications for a new patient, their voice mail jail is ridiculous, will not let you talk to anyone and there are no options when calling to verify medications, if you state you are a health care provider, their system ONLY does a phone number search for the local doctors, so that doesn't let you through. Only other option is to give the patients DOB, then the system looks up phone numbers for everyone with that DOB and if it doesn't match doesn't let you do anything but leave a voice mail. Then no one calls you back. I will never use CVS for any of my personal medications, there is absolutely NO customer service, and no one there appears to care. All they want is that prescription and all your money. If you aren't calling for that they have absolutely no use for you, and they let you know it. I'd like to see them go bankrupt. Minute Clinic Review: Came in for a TB test for work. I set an appt and was seen within 30 mins of my check in time. The doctors seemed pretty overwhelmed but it didn't stop them from being polite and asking if people needed help as they tried checking in or setting appointments. At no fault to the doctors, CVS needs to develop a better system for check-ins and last min appts. It seems that people who set last min appts are seen first and people who already had appointments are seen afterwards. There were lots of grunts and impatient patients but I could see where they were coming from. People who walked in were being seen first. I'm a pretty patient person so even though I was seen 40 mins after my appt time I couldn't blame the doctors. Once seen I was in and out. My follow up was a much faster experience with a in and out time of about 15 mins. read more

I do not typically go to this CVS, but I was out and about on the weekend and needed to get my flu shot. I decided to schedule it on the CVS app. I was able to schedule, check in, and go straight to the pharmacy to let them know I was there. I had to wait about five minutes before the pharmacist came to administer the shot. The inside has been updated since I was here last, so that was nice. However, the parking lot was FULL of trash by the parking spots, so that made it a little less pleasant. I came and got what I needed but I would not be eager to return, nothing was spectacular to make this my go to CVS. read more

One pharmacist in particular sounds like he's half asleep and it's way too much effort for him to be civil. I have long been a loyal CVS customer. This CVS, though, disappoints in so many ways. If I need to pick up a prescription I plan on a long wait. It almost feels like I'm at Walmart instead of a decent pharmacy. There are never enough people working in the pharmacy, and there is space for more people to work. More frequent than not sale merchandise is not in stock. Some items allow me to get a raincheck but by the time it is back in stock my coupons have expired. Finally, the cashiers at the front of the store are a mixed bag. I've had some very friendly folks wait on me and I've had some extraordinarily rude people wait on me. I just don't see consistent customer-focused practices at this location. So much so that I'm planning to switch my business to another pharmacy or a CVS that is much less convenient to my location. Just as with other reviews I have written about CVS - this location is "A-Ok." I would be amazed if a CVS would ever get a rating above 3 out of 5 from me. CVS's are hit and miss and this one is no exception. Sometimes the service is great and sometimes it is so poor that I want to poke my eye out with my finger. Recently made a 0900 appointment at the minute clinic to get my flu shot. I was the first one of the day and even showed up after working a 13 hour night shift. I asked around to the ladies that worked there to see if anyone from the clinic was going to be there soon. They told me they couldn't get a hold of anyone that was coming in, nor were they sure who exactly was coming. Long story short, after waiting 45 minutes, exhausted from work and growing irritable. Gave me the wrong prescription. Had to make another trip to get the correct one and give back someone else's pills they gave me. Get home only to find out they gave me the wrong prescription again. Now i have to go back. No pain meds for 2 days after surgery because of them. Just wanted to go home and go to sleep, but have to go back and forth and patrice had the nerve to threaten me that she would pull the bideo to see who got my medicine. saying according to her records we got it. Went to minute clinic tonight as a walk in At 555pm. Woman dr called in a mom, and was done by 620. her son was next but the mom said he had to Go to NC so his appt was cancelled and the next on the board was a no show. But she refused to see me stating that she goes by the computer. I mentioned that I was having asthma/allergy symptoms and she said to to the urgent care because she doesn't give out certain steroids. I asked if she could tell me where it was since I am not from this area. she said "google it". And then went on the clean the office. So much for southern hospitality or the oath to help the sick. Terrible minute clinic. I have been to a few ones, but the one in Summerville main st, is terrible. NP John should find a different job. Who gives a school excuse, after being diagnosed with the flu, for 2 days. After 2 days my son still had a fever of 101. Then I have to spend days trying to get a school excuse extension because of his this lazy NP. I'm still trying to get the extension, since he missed a total of 4 days with the flu. When I call, they put you on hold for over 45 min (yes that is the average time I have waited) I can only get though twice to speak with someone, because I don't have all day to just hold on the phone. Then when you get to talk to someone, they tell me they will call me back. I'm a nurse too and I can't always answer the phone when I get a call. Lisa, office staff, has the nerve to tell me, that when she is waiting for an important call, she will wait with the phone no matter what. So glad you have a job that you can talk and answer when you want to. As a nurse myself, I don't have the luxury to answer when I want to. At first it seemed strange to leave a review for a pharmacy, but then I was like, "Why WOULDN'T I review them? They're more important to me than a restaurant!" So, here we go.... I have been a customer of this particular CVS Pharmacy for literally as long as I can remember. Is it because they have mind blowing sales? Well, the sales are indeed good, but similar to the other drug stores / pharmacies. Is it because this is a 24 hour location? The shelves stay well stocked? The store and the restroom are always neat and tidy? Those "extra bucks" they offer? Yes, those are all wonderful, but still.... that's not it. WHAT then??? It all comes down to CUSTOMER SERVICE. You must first understand that this is an extraordinarily busy location. Like.... ALL the time. It didn't USED to be, but with all the expansion and growth in Summerville, now it is. Sooooo, do not expect to drop off a prescription and have it filled in a ridiculous little 6 minutes or something. Not gonna happen. These folks work their BUTTS off, and YET, in all the years I've been coming to this pharmacy, I've never been treated like a "number". Time and time again the pharmacy staff has gone the extra mile to help me with situations through my insurance, with transferring prescriptions, with careful explanation of new medication procedures, and so much more. Even when I've had to call from out of state, they treat me like I'm standing right there in front of them. Never rushing me, never a hint of irritation, nothing. And when I go in to drop off or pick up a prescription, I'm always recognized by name, (and usually by my FIRST name) before I even GET to the counter. That's a wonderful feeling. And that, my friends, is true customer service. It's how you build a relationship with your customers.... not just rake in dollars. Believe me..... I've been "wooed" by SO many other pharmacies..... even mail order pharmacy companies for my business, some with incredibly good deals. But it's not always about just the money. It's also about the relationship, and where you SPEND that money.... and there's NO WAY I'd leave this CVS. My advice? Don't "pharmacy hop". Get on over to CVS on Main Street in Summerville..... They know how to build relationships that will last a lifetime. read more

I spoke to the pharmacy technician at 4:27pm to have medicine ready and I told them I would be there in an hour. When I arrived at the drive thru around 6pm they said no medicine was ready and said you can't sit there and hold up the line. I drove around back to the window and we were discussing why no medication was ready and she close the window on me saying I don't have time to argue with you. Then she went and got the black girl she came to the window with an attitude saying well I'm the one you spoke to on the early call (4:27pm) and I've been trying to have your medicine transferred Walgreens but no one answered earlier but she said they were just able to have the medicine transferred. So I'm thinking wow since I've been at the drive thru they were able to contact them but not before INTERESTING. So now me and her going back and forth about the medicine and she has the nerve to say well I can go get your medicine ready if I wasn't here talking to you. BOTTOM LINE these people are unprofessional and unethical whatever my insurance won't pay at Walgreens I will pay for but I refuse to deal with this type of behavior EVER AGAIN! I called Walgreens and told them any and all meds pull them from CVS BYE! Spoke with the CVS manager about what happened and she said they might have been a little busy, but if that's the case why not just that in the beginning instead of being disrespectful to the customer?! Very very slow and poor service pharmacy. The store is great but the pharmacy is a lot to be desired. My wife called to see if her prescription was ready. After being on hold for five minutes, I told her to stay on the line and we would just head over there in the car. As we waited at the double drive thru line, she was still on hold; she never hung up. As we sat there on the outside lane, the inside lane serviced 3 customers and finally told us through the speaker to please wait until they could get to us. This was NOT during a busy time of day! This was around 9:00 pm!! With my wife still waiting on hold, I pulled away from the drive thru out of frustration. We went inside the pharmacy and were immediately helped??? There were no customers ahead of us! While the clerk grabbed my wife's medicine and checked her out, we kept hearing their phone system announcing that someone was on hold waiting to talk to the pharmacy!!! What?!?!?! There were 3 pharmacists working on refills and 2 clerks. NO ONE EVER PICKED UP THE CALL ON HOLD. It was like they just tuned the phone system out. My wife hung up the on hold call to the pharmacy as we left this so called pharmacy. I will be moving my account... AGAIN... read more

Slow. It is impossible to overstate how slow they are. When Tricare and Walgreens decided not to play nice together we were stuck with CVS. I just left their pharmacy. When I got there only one person was ahead of me in line - my lucky night. 25 minutes later, I finally got to the window and there were 8 people in line. They had 7 people working but only one taking care of the front. There has to be a more efficient way to do things. The best part about this pharmacy? - What the label says is what's really inside - just like every other pharmacy. whoopeee. If you have any alternative to using this CVS, use it. read more

If there was a negative star I would give that. I've been going to this pharmacy for over 13 years with no issues and then tonight (1/19) my family was treated like crap by the pharmacy manager named Emily (so she called herself) when we tried to pick up birth control pills for our 19 year old daughter which we have done several times in the past our insurance was denied and my wife tried to call in and ask what the problem was. A person named Emily answered the phone and was extremely rude to my wife so much so it left my wife in tears. My wife was on speaker phone with our entire family in the car and Emily had the nerve to ask her why she was speaking to her that way...our entire family was in desbelif in the car over the speaker phone because my wife was just trying to figure out the issue with the insurance and couldn't understand Emily's rude tone. I myself had to call and speak to Emily because my wife was so upset and she had the nerve to blame the issue on my daughter who stood in line and waited on the prescription...what happened to customers come first??? The money isn't the issue, my wife just wanted to know what the problem was with the insurance and was treated like complete crap by a so called "pharmacy manager". She was treated so bad we are not going to give in on this with our complaints, please, please so else where to get your prescriptions filled!!!
