We picked up our favorite Mark West Pinot Noir for 12.49, which seems a bit more than what we would pay locally, but it's in a touristic area. GA sales tax of 7% percent applies to wine. This is one of those uber urban CVS. Prices are high because they control the market in that area. Service is non-existent and you have to hunt up an employee to find where something is. I don't get the impression that CVS is trying to improve the customer experience. It's more like "take it or leave it... there is not another drugstore nearby." read more

There was a paucity of drug stores in Savannah, let alone one that was open late. But this one delivered a basic selection of over-the-counter medical supplies that my condition required. Self-checkout was available. They didn't have everything behind plastic barriers. Prices were awfully high for basic things, but I doubt it would be radically different anywhere else. read more

Worst CVS cashier teen-ish girl customer service. Barely looked away from her phone texting while I was checking out. She said ZERO words. She took my $$ and didn't do another thing....right back to her texting standing at the register. It was pouring rain so I asked for a bag. She roughly jammed my anniversary card into the bag so hard that she ripped the bag and I had to tell her I wanted another one. I asked her what I did to irritate her so badly. She mumbled something incoherent. Either way, she kinda said sorry and I said "no you're not" for which she responded "you're right, I'm not." Which I then followed up with "I know because you're @hole as I walked out the door. Horrible service and I know nothing will ever happen to her. 14 Aug 24 around 6pm. read more

I stopped here in the heart of the historic district to get a few things that I needed. (The place the front desk guy suggested wasn't where he said it was and another place was totally closed so I asked a random passerby and he suggested this place.) I got in and out without buying too many extras. (I was eyeing up the markdown Halloween candy but only bought lip balm as an extra unneeded item. I needed Pepto and Tums.) I found what I needed quickly and went up to the register. The cashier (Richard) was vacuuming as I walked up. He was nice. I was in and out and on my way on this dreary day. This CVS was conveniently located in the heart of the historic downtown district of Savannah, not far from the bed & breakfast we stayed in Oglethorpe Square. We needed some toiletries such as hair spray and conditioner, and other items, and this had everything easily located. I enjoy the location of the self-check-out modules where we could check out our stuff easily, pay quickly, and move on -- definitely a great place to have without having to get into the car and drive. read more

This place is haunted. So says many ghost tours I've been on. But today, I actually needed to go in here to get Benadryl. I was distracted by all the stuff they have in here. The front entrance is pretty dirty and needed to be cleaned. I got in and out with my Benadryl. read more

Rudest customer service!! The girl working tonight was so rude to us. We arrived 5 mins before closing and she was rude the whole time we were there. She even closed the door where we felt like she slammed it. Instead of them helping us at the register to purchase our items she rudely suggested we use self checkout. Great pharmacy! Go to place for any prescription! The pharmacists are very nice and been able to prepare my prescription within hours (when not called in). But when it's ready to be picked up, I only spend 2 minutes in there. I recommend not to come 30 minutes after their lunch break because there will be a huge line. read more

This CVS is located on Bull between State and Broughton. This CVS is a bit of an oasis in the historic district considering if you're a tourist staying in one of the many hotels in the historic district this store has many such things you may need and it's within walking distance. Whether it's cold drinks, snacks, etc CVS is a nice sized store stocked with everyday items. I ended up getting a 24 pack of Aquafina for 6 bucks which is just slightly more than Publix which is a full blown grocery store. The Krogers are a bit out of the way from this area so this CVS was a great convenience for being where it is. read more

They have a wide array of everything for every need, at this location. But beware the price point, especially if you're Canadian - after factoring in the exchange rate and the prices here, it isn't a bargain so to speak. They have everything anyone needs - well-stocked shelves. Be patient at the check out ... Savannah, as I learned (to my pleasure) is a town where no one moves at 100 mph. read more

I used to go here for all my prescriptions but the pharmacists are all very cold and judging. They treated me like a druggy for getting my medication that I NEED. Whenever I went in to pick it up I would be dreading that interaction. If you want friendlier service and better prices (for Good RX and my Insurance) go to Apollo Pharmacy!!!!! CVS Pharmacy does not care if you have a medical condition & needed to use the restroom.. That person was a paying customer also... They blatantly put off someone who needed to use the restroom, due to store policy. I have never been in a drug store, where they did not allow or have a public rest room. It's not fun when you're on vacation and an issue arises. The pharmacist at this CVS was sweet and caring and spoke in a soothing calm tone. He gave me some suggestions and pointed me toward some over the counter medications. Whew! It was after my encounter at this CVS when I realized that everyone in the south is just sooooo nice! This CVS is ok. I found myself in need of some bandaids for making a poor shoe choice while walking around Savannah and yelped the closest drug store and foudn this, right off of Broughton street. The place was pretty busy, but things were in somewhat of disarray. A staff member did ask me if I needed anything. She didn't bug me but was genuine in her hospitality. The best thing I found, which is different than any CVS that I have been into, is that they have self-checkout. This made my visit speedy as I went in, got what I needed, and checked out myself so it was easy peasy! read more

The pharmacy here is slow and disorganized. To make matters worse, they have poor customer service to communicate to the client about the wait times. I have had mistakes with my medications filled here. Check your prescriptions for accuracy. Its very frustrating to deal with the grumpy attitude of some of the technicians that work there. read more

This CVS is centrally located to all the downtown hotels, making it pretty busy on a weekend where you've got 20,000 tourists in town for a marathon. We ended up stopping here a lot, since it was the easiest convenience store near our hotel. Apparently that was also the case for everyone else. Each time we went, the line was at least 5 people deep. The employees did a good job of keeping the lines moving. It was a little annoying that they were doing the vacuuming while the store was so busy, but I guess they didn't want to be there too late. Speaking of too late, the store was closed before 9pm on Saturday night. This probably isn't a problem for most, but I could've used some infant tylenol, and this is the only place in walking distance of downtown that would have been able to fulfill that request, had they been open later. I'm sure that you don't get much business, but since you're the only pharmacy in the area, I'm sure the hotel guests would appreciate it. #Yelp365 - 332/365 read more

First time that I have seen a greeter at a CVS. That Southern hospitality thing shines thru. One of the odd things about downtown Savannah is that there is not a lot of "normal" retail. Try and find a place to buy a newspaper. Lots of places to eat - just don't get up too early. One supermarket in the whole town. But a great city, worth a visit. read more

I rolled in here seven years ago for some basics while in town for a class, and again this morning for the same. It's a clunky, run-down store with all of the charm of a cinder block....but it had what we needed, so for what more could I ask? If you need Q-tips, a Diet Coke, a prescription filled, or just like to watch the panoply of tourists and locals rolling in and out, this is the spot. I came here and they welcome us with a high "hello! welcome to CVS" it took me a moment to realized that the lady was talking to me. We got the items we were looking for, so it was very convenient. The pharmacy staff here is amazing especially John the pharmacist. I cannot thank him enough for all the help he gave me while trying to refill my daughters prescription. His pharmacy was out of my daughters medication. John told me if I could find CVS that had her medication he would help transfer the prescription to that store. We were making call after call to find a CVS that had her medication in stock. Finally after an hour of calling we found a store that her medication. John helped make sure her prescription was transferred and filled. I cannot thank him enough. He answered each of my frantic calls with a kindness and calmness that got me though this. My daughter is on medication that you can not just stop taking. If you are looking for a pharmacy that goes beyond the call of duty you have found the right one here. Thank you John! read more

I've been to this location a few times. It's probably the nicest CVS I've ever seen plus it's the only drugstore downtown. Staff seems nice too. Just today I picked up 75 photos from here which I had ordered online, 2 of them were messed up a little but I expect that kind of thing. That being said, it is in a great location to the historic area hotels so that you can pick up stuff you forgot to pack. It does look like it has been a long time since it was remodeled. Complete and total jerks. I needed one double AA battery and it was exactly 9. The store was FULL of people and the very rude person was locking the door. Pushing people out. Have never been treated so bad. Wow glad I didn't need medicine!!! read more
