We came in last night as friend had an rx here . We shopped around while he was the pharmacy . A nice woman welcomed us when we walked in. The store wasn't too busy . There was a pretty good selection of candies and chocolates . I'm talking about BOGO or buy one, get 1/2 off second . They have two self check out stations . The same nice woman who welcomed us was also the cashier at that moment . She was beyond kind and made us all smile and laugh . We couldn't remember our rewards number but she was patient with us . We got a great deal for our candy purchases (as we went to Vons right after and Vons prices for same items were not discounted ). But what was memorable was the nice woman who took the time to make the visit worthwhile :) read more

Avoid CVS. Go with family owned or Costco (you don't need to be a member of Costco to use their pharmacy). Even Walgreens is ten times better. I tried the Camino Del Norte location first before trying this one and both are so awful. My prescriptions are fairly straightforward. I usually hold up my phone so they can see the code. I never have extra questions. I barely say two words (usually thank you and yes please). And yet they still manage to give the rudest customer experience. And it's consistently rude each time. Today, however I have had enough and decided to leave CVS and I have transferred my entire extended family's care to a family owned pharmacy. Not to mention they are constantly OUT OF STOCK on so many of our common medications. I wish I had done this years ago because each experience puts me in such a sour mood for hours after. I was so relieved to come on here and see over 100 one star reviews because I have tried to be patient with them but they are just so rude each time. Had a very disturbing encounter with a pharmacist @ this CVS. I've been taking a blood pressure medication for MANY years and when I recently got a refill, the tablets were much smaller than usual. Wanting to be sure I had received the correct medication, I consulted Adena, the CVS onsite pharmacist. Her immediate demeanor with me was rude & dismissive; she acted like I was a major nuisance. After pressing her with questions, she reluctantly looked into my inquiry but made it very clear she was NOT happy! CVS has signs posted EVERYWHERE about not tolerating rude behavior from their customers. But it's OK for their CVS staff to disrespect and treat their customers with contempt? The woman at the drive through had no idea what she was doing or what the prescriptions looked like. What should have been a quick pick up took over 30 minutes. My biggest issue is that she didn't tell me what the cost of my medications were and she attempted to charge my card $500. I understand my meds went up because of the dosage however with that great of a cost you'd think they would have the decency to check that that price was ok. Pharmacist is ok with patient consuming contaminated medication! Black specks were found on the underside of my medication bottle cap and on some of the medication capsules themselves. I brought this back to the pharmacy and showed the pharmacist today. She told me, without doing any real inspection or testing, that the black specks are from the ink on the bottle caps when they're stacked on top of each other. She said she didn't see any black specks on the actual capsules after pouring out a few of them. I told her I tried to remove as much as I could see from the capsules already but there could be more. I asked her if she believes that it is acceptable for patients to consume medication with these black specks on them and she said yes, "there is nothing wrong with the medication," and gave it back to me. The pharmacist did not do any true validation of what those black specks were, did not care about my concern, and believed I should continue to take the mediation despite the possibility of consuming those black specks. She provided no proof that even if the specks were from ink that the ink was non toxic or edible. She offered zero remedies or solutions. I will be changing pharmacies. read more

Again 0 star. Never fill my prescription here ever again. I was in line to pick up my prescription at 1:15. When I got to the counter, it was 1:25PM. It took the tech a good 4 minutes to find my medication. What is ridiculous is that the system requires the pharmacist to override for a refill because it requires consultation. Why? This is a refill. The pharmacist walked off to lunch at 1:20PM. Restock. Not coming back to waste my time ever again! read more

I used to love this place. But it seems my last two prescription pick ups. The system has entirely changed. I can no longer call and get a hold of a person in the pharmacy. I can only talk to a robot who literally cannot perform the simple task of sending in my doctors request to have my prescription filled. I now have to go out of my way and wait in a long freaking line which takes literally nearly an hour just to send in the request to have my prescription filled. Then I have to wait another freaking long century eternity for my prescription to finally be filled when before I could literally just throw it in and pick it up within the time span of like half an hour now it takes me an hour or two to maybe a couple days . My prescription also used to be automatically filled once my doctor called it in and I would get a text. I no longer get that so I don't know what's the deal with that. Then today picking up my prescription was a total catastrophe. The website for the CVS pharmacy at this location literally says it closes at 11 and I knew in my gut that this wasn't right but I said huh I will trust the system. Big mistake. I just pulled up to their window at 9:30PM when I went in at five, and of course their times are posted on the window saying that they close at nine and again I knew this to be true because i've picked up from them before but I just thought maybe they changed their system and now they're open longer because they know people can't call in their prescriptions anymore and they dont automatically fill those prescriptions like they used to. My prescription was due a little over a week ago and now I have to wait another day to pick it up. It just messes up my entire system and it's so inefficient when it's so easy the fix is so easy and I just don't understand why they changed it and it upsets me because again I've gone there for a while and I like the people there I actually do but yeah, it sucks. read more

Been coming here since they opened, always had a good experience with the pharmacist, one time I was in urgent care and called them and she still filled my prescription 30 minutes before closing. Staff are mostly nice. Lines are always long and short staff but please take down that mobile app skipping the line sign when you still have to be in the regular line! I would give zero stars if it was possible. I transferred an Rx here as I was told they can fill it. Was waiting for a week. Then I was told they need a substitute medication as they don't have the original I stock. My dr denied the substitute. I called CVS back, spent 20 minutes with the Asian male pharmacist who answers the phone and gave him the NDC number from the RX I had. He reassured me that they have this in stock and I can pick it up in a couple of hours. He even told me he found my new insurance and the copay will be $30. When I got to CVS I was told that this med is out of stock. When I asked the gentleman I previously talked to, why did he tell me it was in stock he flat out denied he talked to me. As a repeat pharmacy customer, I was disgusted to see a pharmacy technician dressed in her street clothes use her bare dirty grimy hands and fingers to touch and guide prescription medications into the pill counter. This CVS needs an overhaul and inspection to ensure that the medications are as clean and sterile as supplied by the manufacturers. Omg the proximity convenience of this place almost ALWAYS is erased after you step into line here. Every person that has been in front of me without fail makes the transaction 100% longer than it needs to be. What's the number 1 reason why? The 50,000 coupons they give you on your receipt!!! Everyone is trying to use every single coupon...that's what I encountered today. The previous time I was in the store, there was an issue with a gift card as I stood in line... 02/4/2021 - requested my boyfriend to pick up w prescriptions ready (notified by CVS via text message) for me since I couldnt do it today. Upon arrival, my bf called me and said there are no prescriptions available for me. Asked him to ask again because even on the automated call to their CVS, they tell me theyre ready. He says no, staff member verified my phone number. I called CVS to ask them if there are any prescriptions for me to pick up. A staff member then proceeds to verify and tells me, yes it's been ready for days. Bottomline: Simple transaction, simple verification. Verify the full name, DOB, not phone number. Location: -Convenient location off the 56 freeway/Black Mountain Road; near a gas station/Vons/restaurants -I've never had trouble getting parking here, but I usually come off peak hours. -This particular CVS is much older and more rundown compared to others I've been to. Restrooms could be cleaner and updated. Actually, the whole store could definitely get an upgrade. -I do find this particular CVS has limited stock and have less selections compared to others I've been to. Customer service: Hit or miss - There's always long lines at checkout and limited staffing working the front. However, the few times I did ask for assistance finding things, they were friendly and responsive. I do like that I get coupons in the mail and savings uploaded on my membership card. The absolute worst pharmacy I've ever visited. Pharmacists constantly say they are unable to help or I need to call someone else, however other CVS Pharmacies have no problem helping with the same requests. To top it off, the entire staff is incredibly rude. It takes less time for me to drive 20 minutes (40 minutes round trip) to a different CVS, than work with the staff at this location. I should've read the reviews before we visited the CVS at this location. As it was pointed out in many reviews, the staff was very rude. We went there for my daughter's passport photo. My daughter, who is 5 years old, had to go through constant criticism from the staff while she tried to take her photo. The situation was that my daughter closed her eyes when the camera flashed in front of her face. This is what the staff said in her own words: "You are not a baby! Why are you closing your eyes!" So my daughter became nervous and tried to keep her eyes open really hard. In the second try, she kept her eyes open, but the staff said: "Your head is not straight! This is not going to work. I do not have time for this!" I thought my daughter's head was straight, so I peeked at her camera screen and saw that the photo was really blurry. (They didn't use a tripod or anything.) Even if everything went perfect as the staff had wished, the photo would have been useless. But she blamed the little kid for her blurry photo. Now I could tell that my daughter became scared of the staff. In our third try, she closed her eyes again because of the flash. The staff said: "Again? See? I cannot do this. Just go somewhere else!" In our way out of the store, my daughter told me with tears in her eyes that she was sorry that she closed her eyes. So yes, the staff did make a little kid feel bad if that was her intention. Who would do this to a child or even an adult? I told my daughter that it was not her fault, and we could try it again next time. We took another shot in a different place and got our passport photo in one try. read more

I checked in for my vaccine and the person checking me in was not helpful, I don't know if there's burnout or lack of care for her job, either way it showed through her treatment of customers. Back to the car and got to the drive thru. Only one line for both drop off and testing. After an hour of waiting, the girl told me she had to get an approval from the manager because they don't do the testing after 5pm. Another 10 mins of waiting, I was told to move my car to the side so she can help the next customer behind. Really? Fill your prescriptions elsewhere! This location is exemplary only it it's pursuit of apathy and customer disservice. My wife called in a refill of her medication through the automated system which advised her the meds would be available by 11am the following day. I drove over this evening and arrived around 5:50pm as I was unaware the pharmacy was about to close and my wife had already been without medications for several days due to the bottle having been lost (no controlled substances or anything sketchy). The pharmacist tech assisting me at the drive through window could not find it at first with just my wife's info but once I provided the name of the medicine she quickly located it and advised it could not be filled again until roughly a month from now (we had picked up a 90 day supply). She said I would either have to wait or pay cash for the meds which would've been more than 20x the cost of my co-pay. I advised the tech she could call the dedicated pharmacy services line at my insurance company and they could process an override to get the payment to go through. Right off the bat I was concerned because having worked for a prescription benefit manager for 3 years I knew this was a very common and very easy process. The techs response was "I'm not going to call, we close in 3 minutes". When I expressed my concern over her unwillingness to help she advised me she was doing me a favor by allowing me to pay cash. She then suggested I come back tomorrow after calling the insurance company myself. She lied and told me pharmacy did not have a dedicated number to call with the insurance company. I asked if it was okay that my wife had missed three days and would miss one more. She told my again I could pay cash or come back tomorrow, the implication being my wife was okay to miss another day of meds. As she is not a pharmacist she should not be giving medical advice. I asked to speak with a pharmacist so I could ask about the safety of missing that many doses. The tech refused to allow me to speak with the pharmacist and told me to come back tomorrow if I didn't want to pay cash. As such I was sent away without a response to my medication inquiry simply because she wanted to close up and go home. While I appreciate the sentiment of wanting to leave its wildly unprofessional especially working in the healthcare industry. It's a great way to express a complete lack of empathy. If you want to leave at 6:00, please consider closing your hours off at 5:30 and don't punish customers that arrive inside your posted hours even if it is late. Please also consider training your techs (and perhaps pharmacists if the pharmacist was complicit in ignoring my inquiry) on the legalities of patient medication counseling. The best option at this point is probably going to be a call to the California State Board of Pharmacy as I'm sure my concerns will fall deaf ears. As a side note, about 15 minutes after leaving my wife got an automated voicemail saying her prescription wouldn't be ready until next month. Clearly this was just a CYA attempt by the pharmacy to cover up the fact that their system had already advised it would be ready and failed to notify us other until (conveniently) right after I went to pick it up. So instead of doing their jobs and calling the insurance company to get the override, they instead took the time out to insure that message was sent to my wife's phone. You really have to wonder about the priorities when that is the decision made. They would rather double down on their incorrect stance and send us a proverbial middle finger than step back and choose to try to help out a fellow human being. read more

Pretend like customers don't do your job every day and provide the bare minimum customer service because that would have been 100x what I received today. I asked simple questions because I don't have the inherent knowledge that pharmacy staff does when it comes to shortages and ordering medications. In an industry that requires some level of customer service, it would be nice if they could incorporate some refresher training on how to educate a customer or be helpful for 2 minutes instead of telling me: "Maybe you should go to another chain." Of course they don't care that the replacement medication I have to take is 100% more expensive that the one I've been taking for years. I am obviously not blaming CVS for the manufacturers production issues, but you don't have to be rude to customers that are unaware and trying to mitigate increased prescription costs.
