I frequent the CVS because I pick up prescriptions for my elderly parents at this location exclusively. I want to say that the employees consistently are so helpful, friendly and patient at this location. An area that the CVS pharmacies could improve upon is their online system, including the app. It is difficult to use. I've tried numerous times to get prescription delivery that they claim is offered, I've even had employees at the pharmacy try to help and we haven't been successful in attaining the delivery for my elderly parents. Frequently, we have a hard time getting drugs that we have ongoing prescriptions for. When I've searched on the app for other locations that have the drugs and switched my prescription to them, I have often found they don't actually have the drug either. One pharmacist told me even though the app says they have the drug, I still have to call that location to see if it's true. I feel like a local pharmacy should be able to regulate the drugs that they need on a consistent basis for their local patrons and I feel like there is a better way to be able to acquire those drugs from another location if my local pharmacy can't provide them to me. read more

My go to clinic for minor care needs. They are really kind and on time! My only recommendation would be more up kept / upgraded restrooms like most CVS locations. Also, please work on resolving the lab issues so people don't have to keep coming back. Besides that, I appreciate the ease of scheduling and access to my medical records. read more

This CVS on Alamo Ranch Parkway has completely failed me as a customer, and I feel compelled to warn others. Their so-called policy of refusing to sell insulin syringes unless you keep an active prescription on file with them is not only unreasonable but dangerous. Insulin is a life-critical medication, and access to syringes should never be made more difficult by a rigid, profit-protecting rule. My syringes are normally provided by the VA, but when I found myself in urgent need, this CVS flat-out refused to help. That is not a pharmacy looking out for the health of its community--that's a pharmacy hiding behind policy. The experience itself was just as bad. I stood at the pharmacy counter for several minutes before anyone acknowledged me, despite the fact that there were no other customers around. No greeting, no "I'll be right with you," nothing. Just silence. That's not customer service--it's indifference. What makes this worse is CVS's own marketing line: "Bringing our heart to every moment of your health." That promise means absolutely nothing at this location. There was no heart, no compassion, and no attempt to actually care for someone in need. When a pharmacy cannot live up to its most basic responsibility--supporting patients with life-sustaining needs--it's a failure of both policy and leadership. Contrast that with Walgreens just down the road: they stepped up immediately, no hesitation, no excuses. Walgreens delivered the service and care that CVS refused to provide. That difference says everything. To CVS corporate: if you truly believe in your tagline, you should start by fixing this store and its policies. To anyone else reading this: save yourself the frustration, drive a few extra minutes, and take your business to Walgreens where you'll actually be treated like your health matters. read more

I finally broke down and got my covid shot. I was hesitant to come to CVS mainly because I'm one of those people that feels better in a doctor office type setting BUT I ended up having the best experience here. The pharmacist who gave my shot was incredibly nice, thorough, and even listened to me and calmed my nerves when I told her about past vaccine issues I've had. I ended up having to wait a full 30 mins before I could leave and they gave me water, some snacks/ candy, and a little gift bag for getting my shot. Everyone there was incredibly nice, made me feel so welcome, and the process was super easy. This cvs will always get my business in the future. I loved the environment, the store itself was incredibly clean and organized. 10/10 best experience possible. Also, super excited they had Mr. Potato head brought back awesome childhood memories haha. read more

I'm not going to use them for flu shots again. You need an appointment, which is fine. But then you get there for your appointment and you STILL have to wait for 30 minutes to get your immunization. One time we left without getting our shot as it was standing room only with all of the chairs full as well as 6-8 people standing and waiting. I don't see the point of requiring appointments if people still need to wait a half hour. Maybe the appointment slots are too close together? I will say the pharmacy staff is pleasant and don't seem to get flustered with their work load and obviously disgruntled customers. read more

The reason why people go to pick up a prescription is because they have a medical condition that requires medication. And we usually don't feel well. I've had two issues with the pharmacist at CVS Alamo Ranch that were just beyond rude. The first was in May when they sent my prescriptions through the tube to the outside lane it was a very windy day and they did not staple the bag closed. when I pulled the bag out of the tube it was upside down and everything flew out- my credit card,my ID, and my prescription. I could not get out of the car without moving up. when I did I heard a crunch and realized I had rolled over my bottle of pills. So I'm on my hands and knees picking up all the remnants of the crushed pills and the plastic bottle along with chasing my credit card and ID in the wind. And I give it back to the pharmacist and I get chastised for being careless with my bag. Yet they were the ones that did not staple the bag shut and put it in so it arrived upside down. Very condescending. But I let it go. Today I had to call in a prescription for my husband. He is about to travel so I called it in one day before it was allowed to be refilled. But he would've run out while on his trip. The pharmacist talked to me and said he would do it this one time but he couldn't do it again. His tone was very condescending. I told him we have never asked to have any pills filled early in the past. He said that he would allow it and override it this one time. I did not respond his tone was just so demeaning. I know they rotate pharmacists in and out on a regular basis. Time to rotate this guy out. read more

Went by CVS pharmacy for the first time in agedy. I couldn't believe all that they carry. I had so much fun walking around and getting things I would usually use the internet for. I actually bought makeup in real time, looking each thing over. Found personal hygiene things there I thought I could only get on the internet. What a fun day. Thank you. Not long after my exersion my husband went there to pick up my medication that I needed after my cervical spine surgery. Good to know that there so close. read more

A brand-new CVS Pharmacy at the intersection of Alamo Ranch Pkwy & Alamo Ranch. Brand new means all the new and shiny bells and whistles. This place looks great! The pharmacy looks amazing, the selection of food products quite adequate for a pharmacy, and of course all the nutritional supplements you need; they have the name brands and their own CVS brand. Not a lot to say because everyoone pretty much knows what CVS is and the selection they have. read more

Avoid the minute clinic. I've made several appointments on different days (weekday and weekends) at different times in the day and they have been consistently late for every appointment. My weekend appointment was over an hour late, and my weekday appointment has been well over 30 min late and to top it off their sign in page showing the wait time had me next in line 10 min ago and now it's showing the person listed after me is getting their appointment in even though it appeared I was scheduled first. I went from "next in line" to 10+ min wait. Wouldn't recommend at all read more

Worst place to have prescriptions filled. Rarely are they able to bill insurance correctly, they're slow, and generally don't care. Once, my wife received the wrong pills. Yes, you read that correctly. Considering their "true function" is prescriptions, they are performing very poorly. Target is right down the street. read more

Awful pharmacy service. I just moved to San Antonio and have been trying for days to get my medications transferred from the CVS in California (Downey). You would think that it would be done in a couple of hours since it's the same store with the same information. It has literally taken them days and still are not ready! And their attitude pretty much implies that they don't care! Ugh! Waiting for all my meds to get here from CVS to transfer to another pharmacy!!! read more

I honestly don't know why I continue to fill prescriptions here. They are never accurate with their times. I could understand if it was once in a while, or by a few minutes, but hours is ridiculous! I dropped off a prescription for an antibiotic at 1:45. I was told that it would be ready in about 30 minutes. I came back at 5:30 and was told by a different technician, Rogelio, that the doctor had just called in the prescription. When I told him that I had dropped off the prescription hours earlier, he shut the window and returned saying that they still needed to have the pharmacist "check" it. Then he actually had the audacity to ask me to drive around and wait in the line again because he wanted to "help the people behind" me. I understand wanting to help other people, but there are two lines in the drive through. There is no reason that I should have had to circle the store and wait in line again after their mistake. Yes, I could have gone in the store, but a toddler in a drug store is not fun for anyone. If this was my only problem, I would be able to look past it. Unfortunately, this has occurred more than once. I've also been given partial prescriptions (they filled 2 of the 3) and I got home before realizing their mistake. I will be transferring my prescriptions to the pharmacy down the street. read more

This is absolutely the worst pharmacy in SA! When it first opened I was so excited as it is very convenient. At first the prescriptions were filled on time, correctly and I never had any issues. The last 2 years have been a different story. Prescriptions filled with wrong number of pills. As one person said "you would think they could count", Some had too many pills, other were shorted - like 3 a day should be 90 for the month, got home and only had 30. Then a once a month pill that is usually in a sealed package was handed to me in a baggy! Enough is Enough...Going to new Walgreens store. further to drive but had it with this CVS. I have to be an advocate for my health and to monitor my prescriptions with this store is just too much. they are a heath risk. read more

First time they got the prescription right, but did take an extra day because they did not have enough. The next prescription they had the wrong number of pills in 2 of the 3 drugs. And, it was only 28...think they could count to 28. Then, a 4th was not covered by my insurance as it was available over the counter. No problem, but they did not include how much my doctor wanted me to take. Went back to find that info out and it took the Pharmacist at least 10 minutes to read what they had in the computer and tell me. Really was not sure he had a clue to what he was doing. A bit scary.....convenient location, but won't be back. read more

Unfortunately I was so frustrated by terrible service there. It was time to refill but they checked and did not find any supplements in stock. They told me to wait for 3 days. I said that could not wait and then they lectured me 30 minutes about the nearest store location.
