Some man was acting out. With bad behavior. And CVS took charge right away. And helped me feel safe.

I normally wait to write a review. But I needed to share. A shout out to Lisa for helping me feel safe today. And all the others. Rose and all others. Sorry I have forgotten everyone's names. And also a fellow merchant. Teresa. There was a very unhappy man. And he acting out. I unfortunately have suffered something from the past. So it was much harder on myself. And all CVS cared about was protecting everybody else. They took charge contacted the authorities. Which all was taken care of quickly. This is my second time in the store. I love how nice they are and helpful. Today they went over and above. I am forever grateful to you all

CVS (or Creators of Volumus Sheets of paper) in Rohnert Park is not far from where I live. One might think that such a massive store would have impersonal service that treats you with the same customer service as the IRS. Wrong! On my last two visits I felt like I was visiting Nordstroms, but different. First I had a cashier who was nice enough to say she recognized my ring tone from Star Wars. This isn't easy because I think my son made it when he recorded a fax machine thinking it was an alien invasion (I use it because I hate phone calls). Then yesterday, I visited in a 911 situation. My son's braces had become dislodged and I needed dental wax. I ran to the "Dental isle" and looked. Nothing! I asked a coworker, she said, "look in the dental isel"... I told her that i had searched high and low and couldn't find it. Then I ran into Daniel... he's awesome. He marched over to the dental isle and pointed at the very first item on the shelf. I stared blankly unable to understand how this sorcerer had made something appear out of no where when I was certain it didn't exist. To his credit, he smiled kindly as if he had never seen a customer ask a stupid question. When i checked out, he was again cool and told me that Creators of volumus sheets of paper was in reference for the receipts they printed out which could be recycled to replace window blinds that hang vertically. Anyway, this place is cool, and mostly filled with decent people. I think 3 out of 4 customers are on parole and the parking lot is shared with Safeway (which means it's not safe). However I get what I need there and the folks are nice enough to help me find it, even when I ask stupid questions.

I called to make sure they were ready and was told they were out of one of them. Got a call from my doctor checking in on me and I told her what was going on and she said she would change the pharmacy to Walgreens. I called them to see if they had my Rx ready and they said they did not have the formulation of the 40mcg one but they had 80mcg in stock ( I was to take two puffs of the 40mcg one anyways) so problem solving she got in touch with my doctors office and made it happen. I got there and it turns out that Safeway had already billed my insurance and I was not able to get them filled. She said that she would have the other tech call over to Safeway to have them back out of it and then they would be able to finish the transaction. Went back about 40 minutes later through drive through this time since I had made sure my insurance was updated with Walgreens before I left. Still expensive but it was very considerate that they made the contacts to both my doctor and the other pharmacy to try and expedite me receiving my inhalers.

I was told the Pharmacy Manager wasn't available, so I asked to speak with any manager. The manager told me he thinks the Pharmacy Manager's name was "Lau" (he spelled it) and that the pharmacist answering the phones might be "Shemma." I told him that I had already been disconnected multiple times and was just trying to get my prescription. The manager wasn't rude, but it didn't really feel like I was talking to someone who was concerned about fixing the issue. I expected a little more urgency since why are the pharmacy staff acting like they answering calls and disconnecting them on "accident". Instead, the only solution offered was to transfer me back to the pharmacy and let them know I was waiting on the phone. When someone answered, I asked if her name was Shemma. She immediately responded, "Nope," and transferred me. I was connected to Shemma. I realized she wasn't the same person that had disconnected my earlier calls because her voice sounded different from the employee who had answered before. Since Shemma stayed on the line, I decided to ask about my medication and a possible prescription transfer between Walgreens locations. I explained that my regular Walgreens told me that if this location had the medication in stock, they could request the prescription transfer. Shemma told me, "No, I can't do that. Call that Walgreens to transfer it." This completely conflicted with what I had already been told, and I felt like I was being talked over. My biggest concern is still the employee who initially answered the phone. After one of the disconnections, I called back and asked for her name first because I wanted to know who was disconnecting the calls. I figured if the call got disconnected again, at least I would know who I had spoken with. When I asked for her name, she responded, "Sure," and the call was disconnected. This is another reason I strongly recommend asking for the employee's name at the beginning of the call. I feel like people are less tough when they know you know who they are. If you need to follow up, file a complaint, or reference a specific interaction, having the employee's name can make that process a lot easier. With that being said, I don't need my prescription to be filled here anymore. Goodluck to ya if you have to call this pharmacy.

The reputation of Raley's Pharmacy Rohnert Park has been awful. True, I agree there were times the pharmacy gets super slammed and those times are anybody's guess. Tempers flare after a prolonged wait. Dilly-dallying by a new or incompetent staff in resolving a problem with the Rx refill or insurance would add to the frustration. Maybe I'm retired and am more patient. Who knows I may just be a nice guy! Service did suffer after the retirement of the long time manager Russell. He might be grumpy at times when stressed......who doesn't? But he did get the job done and always polite and apologetic to me. Then followed a period of staff instability when there were frequent employee turnover. A new manager, Ernie, recently took over the reins with the support of a new team. He was a breath of fresh air. No effort was spared to upgrade your next Raley's experience. New pharmacy techs were recruited and would undergo training to beef up the service. Ever since graduating from pharmacy school in 2011, Ernie has been with a Raley's pharmacy and is now a permanent resident manager in RP. Ernie recognizes that quick and friendly service is the name of the game. Plus there will be some permanency and consistency in the staffing!
