My husband went in to pick up my prescription 3 hours after he dropped it off and was told it wasn't ready and that they were short staffed to come back tomorrow. I was just released from the hospital having major surgery and needed my prescriptions he was told they would transfer it to another CVS and they can't do that with a prescription for narcotics there were 2 more prescriptions with the original. They ended up filling them after my husband talked with the manager. We have since moved on to another Cvs so that we don't have to deal with this situation again they were all very unprofessional. read more

There's always a long line at the pharmacy and the pharmacy drive thru is usually closed. The workers are typically not very friendly or helpful. 3 stars cause they still have what's needed there but there's way too many pharmacies to not be on the top of your game. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CVS. If you have the choice go to ROCKVILLE PHARMACY, 42 Windsor Ave. I have been brought to tears more times than I'd like to admit by the blatant disregard for the service or care of their customers at this CVS. They do not seem concerned with their primary JOB which is providing care for the people of our community. My provider accidentally sent some of my prescriptions to a CVS in Danbury and the pharmacist here basically waved me off saying they were prescriptions for "narcotics" and that they couldn't be transferred here. First of all NO, they were NOT. One of the scripts was for a controlled substance but all the others were NOT. I straight up said "Okay, can someone please help me? I need my medication...they are not all controlled substances, please can you transfer the ones that are not??". I literally need my medication to live!!! They were totally unconcerned at all with helping me get my medication that I need to survive!! Eventually the PHARMACIST (who I thought had to go to school to learn about what was controlled or not, but I guess I knew that better than him!) conceded that yes, the one that I needed most desperately was NOT controlled and that they could transfer it here and have it for me in 15 minutes. I think the only reason he double checked at all was because he could hear the catching in my voice because I was about to burst into tears! This is not the first time at this CVS that a moment of care and consideration for their customers would have saved a lot of fear and effort on my part. They told me that I had to call the CVS in Danbury to transfer the medication. I asked if they could just call now and see if they could get the meds transferred and they refused!! Is that not their job?? I don't see how it is my job to call the other CVS pharmacy when I AM IN A CVS PHARMACY RIGHT NOW!! My experiences at ROCKVILLE PHARMACY have been phenomenal. I only had to get these prescriptions filled at CVS because of my insurance but after this experience I will be transferring all the rest of my prescriptions to ROCKVILLE PHARMACY. Rockville Pharmacy have called my insurance company for me, told me exactly the steps I needed to complete to get the medication I needed in a way that is most convenient for me. When they've been out of the right amount for a refill for me they've given me bottles of 4/5 pills to hold me over, just the absolute best, most considerate care for their community members. The pharmacy employees at CVS IN ROCKVILLE do not care about providing people with care. They are incompetent at their jobs which can cause HARM to their customers. Medicine's founding oath is FIRST, DO NO HARM. The CVS pharmacy in rockville has failed to comply with the most basic tenet of health care. read more

I have been going to this pharmacy for years. I've never had issues until the last year. The first issue I had was with meds being electronically sent in and cvs not receiving them. My dr tried three times and I finally had to drive all the way back to get a paper prescription. Next was an issue with my son's medication, which I get every month. The dr called it in and I went to pick it up maybe 2 days later. They told me it was not ready and would be later that evening. Nope! It wasn't ready until the next day when I finally got a text from them. They said it was an issue with them not having the meds. I said "Well shouldn't you have told me that?" They said yes. Today was yet another issue. I went to the dr. And she called in two prescriptions. When I went to get them at cvs. They only had one. So I had to call and get the dr to send the other one in again. The pharmacist is not nice or helpful in any way. After posting about my issues on fb, tons of my local friends posted similar issues with this same pharmacy. I am done using them. I will never get another prescription filled by them again. read more

One star is way to generous of a rating. My wife had her heart medications at this pharmacy and was due for a refill. They never filled it claiming they were waiting for her doctor to call them, which her doctor told told her they never got the refill request. It took CVS a whole month to finally refill her prescription, and when we asked what took them so long all we were told that they did call her doctor and "we're just a pharmacy, we can't force her doctor to fill it" and were totally uncaring in any way, shape, or form. They treated her life saving medications like it was a box of cereal they had ran out of stock and had to order. This in my opinion is highly unacceptable, she has switched pharmacies, and we are going to file complaints with their corporate office and who ever is in charge of pharmacies in the state of CT, and will not set foot in this place ever again. read more

The pharmacist here is 99% incompetent and rude. Picked up my prescription, got home and realized they didn't give me any way to dispense it properly measured. Had to go back and get a children's spoon to measure with twice to get my dosage because they don't have medicine cups. The pharmacist gave me an attitude about giving me one because I could just use a tablespoon measure from home (assuming I have one, which I don't). This stupid spoon is less than ideal because of the viscosity of the meds and it is in a squeeze bottle so you can't use a syringe. Why don't they have the proper items for this stuff! Or at least warn you there is no way to measure it before you leave. Also, I'm nearly out of the meds even though I've been taking less than the max after 1 day when I'm supposed to be getting 3 days worth of relief from these meds! read more

The women that work in this store are the most unhappy people I've come in contact with in a long time, especially the ones in the pharmacy. You'd think when you work with the public there'd be a requirement of friendliness or congeniality, but nope, not here. First, the positive things about this CVS (Rockville) store...the friendly cashier (woman) at the front of the store, the one with the very short reddish hair. She's always been friendly and helpful. Other than that, regretfully, I don't have much else on a positive note. The store is often kind of messy looking, and very often, the shelves are not stocked fully, especially in the vitamin and supplements aisle, and also in the first aid aisle. The pharmacy department is truly where this particular store experience really goes downhill, so to speak. The pharmacy staff as a whole seems to have forgotten the definition of excellent customer service. Heck, I'd even settle for good customer service. But the overall very obvious "we're better than our customers" attitude from the pharmacy staff should not be tolerated and allowed by management. The pharmacy employee, woman with blonde hair and foreign accent (sorry, I can't tell from her accent where she might be from) is downright stern, unfriendly and rude. I assume that she's an RN, because she was giving vaccinations the last time I was there. One of the pharmacists outright refused to match the lower price of the identical non-prescription supplement (calcium) that I saw the very same day at Walgreens for $2.50 less per bottle...he actually told me that they will not price match their competitors price. I have yet to be greeted with a smile from any pharmacy employee. Unfortunately, I have to get my prescriptions from CVS, because my health insurance does not have Walgreens as a covered provider. All I can assume is that this particular CVS pharmacy must be an awful place to work. Why else would every employee in the pharmacy department never smile and not provide excellent customer service? I am very surprised to see such poor reviews here. Based on my experience last night I was thrilled! Amanda went way out of her way to help me! My Mother-In-Law was having issues at home and wanted me to stop by to help her check her blood pressure with the device she had recently purchased there. Of course, she bought the least expensive one they sell, one that is similar to the one a nurse uses in the exam room. I am not experienced in using one so after a few minutes of trying to figure it out, I decided to take it back to CVS for an exchange. Mind you it is now 9:00 p.m. and I'm rushing to get there. I arrive, no receipt, components just put in a shopping bag for exchange. She happily takes it in return. There is an added twist here as well. When my MIL called I rushed out without my wallet! I hoped to use Apple Pay at the store, but it wouldn't work. Amanda went over and above making sure that I was able to process my transaction and get back to helping my MIL. Previous experience at CVS Rockville has always been pleasant as well, but last night solidified it for me. read more

I have used CVS Pharmacy in Rockville for years. Nothing exceptional, just convenient for me to get to. I had a recent experience though, that has left me in disbelief of how my health is definitely not important to the pharmacy staff there. I had gone thru the drive through to drop off my prescription. I was told it would be ready in about an hour. During this hour I stopped home & received a phone call saying my insurance was not active. It was, as my husband is active duty right now and has been for 3 years, but I asked how much without it as it was the weekend and we could not contact the insurance company. They said $11.99 and so I gladly said I'd pay the $11.99 for the antibiotic that I needed. After picking up my three year old from nursery school, over an hour later, we stopped at CVS. I went in the store as I needed a few things. Once at the pharmacy, the same blank staring girl who I had given the prescriction to at the drive thru window & spoke with on the phone, told me it was not ready. She then told me that my insurance wasn't active. I told her it was but that I would pay the $11.99. Not a big deal. She told me it would be another hour. My three year was not about to last in the store, so I went home. It got busy at home and it got late so I didn't go back that night. The next day I got a text saying my prescription was ready. My family and I were busy running around, and on the way home we went thru the drive thru, to pick it up. Same girl at the window. Told me my insurance wasn't active. !?!?!? I started to lose my cool, telling her I already spoke to her twice and said to fill it anyway and I would gladly pay $11.99. She told me it would be another hour then realized they would be closed by then, so pretty much that I was out of luck. I told her I got the text saying it had been filled and was ready. She looked at me like I was from Mars, so I showed her the text. At this point a very rude, pompous pharmacist crassly tells us to come inside because we are holding up the line. At this point, my husband went in, with my phone and I stayed in the car with my son...I was really annoyed. My husband returned, without a prescription. The man had given him the run around, acted like we had no insurance, to which my active duty husband sure as heck knew he did. I guess the smug pharmacist gave him a spiel about how he was ex-military and knew how tricare works, incinuating that my husband was lying I guess. Then he said to my husband in a demeaning manner, "It's only $11.99.". To which my husband responded that yes! He was fine to pay it. The pharmacist said it was not ready. My husband said we got a text saying it had been filled. He said to my husband that that was not possible. So my husband showed him the text. The pharmacist then said that there must be a glitch in the computer system. The pharmacist then told him that they were closing in twenty minutes so there was nothing he could do. I don't know how long it takes to count out like 10 antibiotic pills, but apparantly it takes a very long time at Rockville CVS. We called the 24-Hour Vernon CVS and they were able to get the prescription and fill it within a half hour. I am still shocked at the cold and uncompassionate customer service as well as unsure of the mind set and capabability of the pharmacy staff..at least of two of them!! I do not trust them for filling my prescriptions or anyone else for that matter!! I also don't feel like revisiting the twilight zone! Lol! read more

I agree with all the reviews stating bad customer service. I now have Walgreens located near them. Few years ago I had a prescription needing to be filled. It was a new item but had been out on the "market" for 9 months. They said they would order it for me and call when it was ready. Didn't hear from them for 2 weeks. I went down there to see if perhaps they forgot to call me. When I asked to pick up the prescription they said they couldn't find it available. I was furious. Asked why they didn't let me know this sooner and all I got was shrug of the shoulders. Took the prescription to Walgreens. They checked around and within 3 days I had the prescription. The pharmacist was Sarah . She was very helpful and caring to my family member's needs. She helped me many times with concerns about medications and dosages. She is so good and Walgreens knowing this promoted her to manage another pharmacy of theirs in another location. I wish her the best as she is the best. You can't even compare cvs to Walgreens. It's like comparing cooked meat to uncooked meat. It's in black and white. CVS staff in the pharmacy just doesn't have what it takes to get my business any longer. Walgreens even did the transferring of all the prescriptions from all 4 of my family members. So I suggest instead of wasting your time and getting your prescriptions right and in a timely manner with helpful, friendly and caring staff to go to Walgreens. You'll be much happier there!! read more
