I'm not a local but have traveled to the area for a number of years on business so I am familiar…read morewith Big Y, although this was my first time stopping in at this Big Y Express. I decided to fuel my rental car here before heading back to my hotel being I had a 5:30 AM flight out of BDL and didn't want to delay my trip to the airport in the morning to fill up the rental before returning it. I paid at the pump using Apple Pay and got a receipt without going inside so I didn't interact with any of the staff, this place is definitely popular with the locals it seem the gas prices are competitive and I'm sure really very competitive if you're a rewards member. Getting out of the parking lot and merging into traffic was a little challenging being it was about 6:00 PM even if you exit on the side street to use the traffic signal. This place was clean and I had no issues with the fuel island and the receipt dispenser worked fine - this is a great option to fuel up with or without using your rewards...

Great new gas station, the prices are much lower than other stations in the area. Only downside is the points down accumulate from shopping trip to shopping trip, the way other stores do it, so if you don't hit a certain spend threshold in one trip you start at zero the next time you shop..

This is a pretty amazing location, it goes to show it's all about the people and little to do with…read morethe branding. This little convenient store is staffed with happy and out-going employees, my first visit was fun yes I said fun as strange as that sounds being this is a C-store where prices, efficiency and the quality of the product should be the determining factor to be a frequent visitor here. I am not from this area so I originally stopped in because my friend told me this was the best coffee bar around, any size hot or ice coffee is ninety ninety cents and it's totally free on Friday and that's a great perk, but it's the selection and freshness that hooked me along with the interaction with the staff. I never ready prepared my own iced coffee since I usually prefer mine hot although in the warmer months this is an option I frequently choose. Creating a great iced coffee is a process which I understand now but never appreciated and is probably one of the reasons I've never been a fan of it from a drive-through (it definitely requires some thought). The recipe for a perfect iced coffee in my opinion: Grab a large plastic cup - add granular sugar into the empty cup - add a few inches of hot coffee to completely melt the sugar I prefer the Rwanda blend to accomplish this - fill the cup with ice this will prevent the cup from melting - add fresh cream - fill the remaining space with more hot coffee I pick a second type for this, today it was a bold blend, stir to mix and chill, pop on the top and grab a straw... I do a lot of drive-throughs out of convenience and hope for a nice cup of coffee - this is a guaranteed way to ensure you get it your way for a fraction of the price and it also slows the world down for a few minutes. I'm learning we don't always need to be in such a hurry and this place helps instills that mind set...

Stopped in for the usual coffee and two hot dogs but ran into a buddy who recommended the Angus…read moreSteak, Egg & Muenster Cheese. I gave that bad boy a shot and it was great. I took the first bite and it was actually hot all the way through, not like Dunkin sammies. Busy store and getting in and out was kind of a pain but for good coffee and grub at a reasonable price I'll put up with it.

I absolutely love this place! This was our first stop for the Hartford Coffee Crawl, as we wanted…read moreto start North and work our way towards home. It's a really cozy vibe, and I can only imagine watching the snow in the winter come down as you're sitting looking out the window! The 2 employees that were working were very friendly. The gentleman on the bar was very helpful with questions we had. All of their syrups are house made, which i absolutely love. With that said, I ordered myself their pumpkin latte, and paired it with a chocolate croissant. The flavor wasn't overwhelming, nor was it overly sweet. Just perfection! The aroma was out of this world! I wish I could bottle it up and keep it with me all Fall! The only downfall is that it was a 40-minute drive from home, but it just means we plan ahead and make it a nice date day in the future!

Still good coffee, but not as great as before…read more I go to this specific coffee shop quite a bit. They do a good coffee, and they got a reasonable selection of baked goods. I'm removing a star because the standards seem to be slipping a bit. They switched their bakery and although recently they've been experimenting with their in house baking there's a notable difference between what they outsource and what they make in house. The in house stuff is significantly better in terms of quality and freshness, and although priced high they are usually worth the price. The outsourced items don't seem as fresh and it's hard to justify the prices. The coffee is still balanced between the earthy coffee and the house made flavors for their lattes. The experience has been a bit colder as of late, which is fine if you're grabbing a cup to go, but not if you intend to write some reviews while enjoying a cup. That coupled with the multiple times there's been equipment failures which forced me to go someplace else. I honestly cannot state this is worth the trek to try only because there's a chance you can't get coffee at the cafe. I think it's time for myself to trek for another place. For those who want a good cup of coffee, this place is still good for that. Focus on the house-made stuff, order to go, and enjoy.
