CVS pharmacy is excellent. As a licensed administrator and owner of a residential care home I am a frequent flyer at this establishment. The employees including the pharmacists are very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and just good people. I have had problems with prescriptions for various patients over the years but they get it fixed. Needless to say, if you show kindness and patience, they will respond the same. I trust them. I go to CVS Pharmacy on 7th St. only because I am disabled and need to go to the drive-thru. There is a female employee there that is so rude and unprofessional every single time!! She has dropped my prescription on the ground while passing it through the window, just so I would have to struggle to pick it up. She acts as if she is doing you a favor by doing her job. She needs to be terminated. It is not just once of twice that she has been rude... we all have bad days, but she is so unprofessional every single time!! I do not know her name, but I believe she is Philipino. Her behavior is appalling! Most people that visit a pharmacy aren't feeling well, and she has no business working somewhere that requires that she deals with people... nobody needs her bad attitude, especially if they aren't feeling well!! I went to this CVS today to get a passport photo The first person to greet me was Brittany. She was extremely professional, helpful and courteous. I got my photos very quickly. I had high hopes for this place. It's been through so much, got a huge facelift. But there's something wrong and I'm switching my prescriptions to a different drug store altogether. My husband went to the ER and had his prescription sent to this CVS at 5 pm, not realizing that the whole store closes at 6...6?? They're the only CVS that closes this early. So he had to hunt around for a pharmacy and bug the ER to resend the Rx. But bc the CVS script was still "out there" and unable to be cancelled (bc they were closed), he had to pay out of pocket and will now have to go through the headache of being reimbursed by his insurance. Wow, guys. Do better, CVS 7th St. I'm switching my prescriptions to an easier pharmacy tomorrow. Btw, the pharmacists at this CVS are great. Not their fault at all. My guess is that the company is not treating them well and and they're short-staffed. read more

It has been a month since this store re-opened and I do have to say, it is a million times better than the old creepy version. I have never actually used the pharmacy here but they have had everything I go to the store to buy, so far. And things are now labeled as being on sale so that's much better than last visit! read more

If you use this pharmacy, plan on standing in line for a ridiculous amount of time nearly every time you need to pick up a prescription. They are grossly understaffed to the point that they have to speak loudly to each other from across the room for information when working on a prescription. Forget about privacy here...I can tell you exactly what illnesses the two people in front of me had (one was an STD) and what prescriptions they were picking up. I'm pretty sure they both wanted that information kept private. Yikes CVS pharmacy. Do better. read more

staff ishelpful and courteous. except for one cashier who we call The Mean Lady. she is always nasty. we like to use our cash register coupons on candy on the way out but if the mean lady is at register we throw our coupons away and run out the door. It is not necessary to further describe her. She is the only nasty employee. I don't know why they keep her. When we are not sure which of our two accounts the coupon goes to we cannot use self check because if coupon doesn't match account entered we basically need to void it and start over. If the mean lady has to void for us she yells at us The mean lady gets very angry if we don't know which account the coupon will work with. I once watched her be rude and nasty to a black man trying to make a return. She basically said she didn't believe him and ttat he was acting suspiciously. It's hard to say for sure because she is mean to everyone but it did seem racist. We keep coming back because this CVS is our pharmacy. I am a health insurance broker. These people have no clue what they are doing. They spent 20 minutes trying to verify my insurance and told me they could not locate me in the system. Not surprised...this is par for the course with CVS. If you need a pharmacy, don't go here. read more

It would really help if the people working in the pharmacy were a bit more polite and courteous rather than just open up the drive-through window and look at you with a stern face and ask for your name without a hello or how are you? I could barely get my first name out before she started asking me for my last name. I don't know what's going on with this place but the pharmacy is terrible. I turned in a prescription Tuesday and said I would pick it up the next day. After waiting in line for awhile I got to the window and the lady told me that I had no prescription. I told her I did and you guys have it. She just looked at me and said there was nothing she could do because she was just a cashier. She told me to go to the drop off counter. I stood there for ever and know one showed up to help me. The staff seemed very unorganized and overwhelmed. There was a customer there loosing it because after days they still didn't have his prescription filled. The CVS pharmacy at 7th and Keystone has the worst customer service ever! I went down for B12 and it was a "buy one get one free" sale, but they only had one bottle. The manager (I think her name is Denise) rudely told me to pick something else. I told her I wanted two of the same thing and could I get a rain check for when they are in stock again. She had her employee initial my receipt and write that I get a free one when they come in. I went back about a week later and she said, "sorry, we don't honor those any more"! Cut me off mid sentence every time I tried to speak. If she had let me speak even just once then the time it took us both would have been cut in half but she chose to be rude. It's OK. I almost rated it two stars because it is really old and a bit creepy looking. It is a repurposed grocery store so the space is huge but the layout just seems - odd. I came to this store because it was convenient (we were shopping at the Raley's across the street) and I needed to get a flu shot which I have been putting off for a VERY long time. The pharmacy staff were pleasant to deal with and the pharmacist who administered the shot, was friendly and professional. The actual injection was almost painless. The only downside was there was no "private" area for the procedure. Well, maybe there was, but none was offered. Not a big deal as there were very few people around. It just seemed odd to me. So it was just OK. No prescriptions filled, no other purchases made, and minimal time spent here. read more

Ugh... I have a migraine from this store SMH Business hours are clearly posted and since its a corporate giant you would expect normal operating hours to be a pretty standard practice. Pulled up on a Sunday night store hours was 10 PM arrived at 9:45 PM to do one transaction at the register. CVS is an authorized capital one card reload center so here I was ready to do a simple barcode scan and hand some money over. All Registers have signs up displaying their clothes. The woman working stated that if I want to do a transaction like this I have to come early in the morning mind you I've done this many of times at meaning of CVS locations and this is not a requirement. If the store closes at 10pm that's when you should stop doing business, not whenever you want so that you can go home early. I leave the store and watched them lock up so no customers can come in or out before 9:50pm even though there's customers waiting to make purchases whom were also asked to leave, as well as others trying to come inside. The woman working who refered to herself as the manager Which is even worse because she was the ringleader of kicking everyone out and saying they can't accept transactions because their drawers are closed out.This is a very busy area so it's pretty sad that the foot traffic moving through here can't use their neighborhood market because of the few lazy employees that work. Funniest part at 9:50pm I'm on my parked in front of the store looking for an alternate location to do what I need too. The "manager" comes up taping on my window insinuating she's concerned about my car because I'm there lol. IM THERE TRYING TO DO A TRANSACTION I WAS DENIED During normal hours. To act like she didn't just remember speaking with me 2 minutes prior was weird but most of all, if you're in a big hurry to leave then leave and mind your business! Two years with this pharmacy location, didn't think they could get more error-prone, condescending, nasty or unwilling to assist customers but was mistaken. Yes, they had an onslaught of customers when the Raley's across the street closed and Yes, it's got to be a drag working in a single-wide trailer in the middle of a construction site while your new store is built, and No, none of that excuses the Couldn't-Care-Less, Aren't-Going-to-Answer-Your-Questions-or-Assist-in-Any Way approach. I once waited so long on hold I was able to get dressed, get in my car, drive to this location, stand in line and make it to the front of the line while still on hold. In another incident I was given a controlled substance in an unlabeled bottle. This month a new Rx with a new dosing schedule wasn't filled due to an input error but correcting it was stupidly difficult. First step: convince the pharmacist I am neither a moron nor intellectually impaired, before I can convince him to take a second look at his records. Yesterday I failed at updating CVS with new insurance information as the pharmacy assistant refused to even look up what insurance is on file. I guess that's super great if not Orwellian that CVS has the info on my new insurance BEFORE I DO as was indicated but your employees' refusal to answer a single, simple question is again incomprehensible. 7th St CVS is right up there with the DMV, but more infuriating in that what they give or don't give you or tell or don't tell you could have life-altering consequences. What will it take to change this staff's attitude and behavior? It's been 2 years. read more

This CVS is old school but for me it's centrally located. They have everything you need when it comes to a drug store. Why I give it a 5 rating is all the pharmacy staff was super duper nice. They speak to all the costumers as if you are the most important person on the planet. They order was prompt and I was in and out of there in no time with my prescriptions and my aching head! read more

Update 7/11/2020 The staff here are super nice and very helpful. Especially Joey. I stop in regularly to stock up on my drug-of-choice, Diet Pepsi, and Joey always helps me track some down if they're running low. No one wants to witness me withdrawing from Diet Pepsi; it's pretty gross. *************** This is definitely not my favorite place to shop, but it IS the closest so it's convenient. Their makeup selection is broad but I find they are frequently sold out of, or don't carry what I'm specifically looking for (and I don't use obscure brands or items). If you have a CVS loyalty card you can save money shopping here, and the prices are pretty fair - lower than Walgreens in my experience. The staff had *always* presented as warm and friendly, but what prompted me to leave a review today was the staff member who checked me out was all up in my business asking about who my stuff was for - I was getting wrapping paper for a birthday gift and two Cadbury Halloween eggs. I don't mind employees at drug or grocery stores making the occasional comment about an item or items I'm purchasing, but this employee was just taking it too far especially because I just wanted her to shut up and help me deal with my credit card which kept saying "chip malfunction" when I inserted it. Maybe I'm grumpy today but I don't think it's anyone's business who my wrapping paper is for nor whether I'm eating Halloween eggs all by mysetonight. read more

I don't know how I always wind up in this CVS when I am Reno, but for whatever reason, I do. And this is seriously the creepiest CVS I've ever set foot in. It's a total throwback to something out of the late 70s / early 80s - and not in a hip, retro way, but in a scary, horror movie way. I had such a horrible experience with the Walmart Pharmacy on 7th St. My doctor had called this pharmacy to see if they had a drug for me in stock, which they did. When I went in, I was greeted and Jericho helped me and had spoken to my doctor. They filled my prescription quickly and painless, unlike Walmart and I want to say, moving forward with all my prescriptions, I will be utilizing this pharmacy. This isn't my first time here I live fairly close by. I'm not impressed. The manager with the longer brown hair tan skin is so rude. I asked to use hand sanitizer since I was with my little I wanted to clean my cart and she through the hugest fit. Then at check out she was no where to be found so I left the cart unattended and proceeded to Leave the store. I hear " didn't get anything" accusatory AF and I kindly let her know I couldn't wait. She then replied with some snotty comment. I know this is a minute issue, but customer service is everything. Leave your problems at home and put a smile on your face. Spoke to the manager about getting my photos order. She informed me that they haven't had paper for 2+ weeks. Seemed completely unconcerned that everyone ordering photos weren't going to be getting there prints anytime soon. She told me I could transfer my order to the other location. Wasn't able to show or tell me how to do it. So I called the other location and was informed they could just borrow paper from the other location. I called the manager back from the 7th St location was completely rude and nasty when I suggested that she could borrow paper form the other CVS locations so that she would be able to remedy the problem of having no paper for people ordering photo orders. She wanted nothing to do with that idea and was super rude and unprofessional and said "our truck supposed to be here Thursday" so if it's not there by then maybe I'll do something else. Maybe rethink management? Or professionalism and conflict management/problem resolution classes are needed. Update called back and asked for the corporate number and was hung up on. Im gonna tell you it is not this store (it's the service) that handles all Reno Stores There is a call center for Dr's to file prescriptions for us it's our insurance approvel center. My insulin goes from $40.00 to $300.00 every other month. The same with certain Meds I have been taking for years. Please is anybody else have this problem Month after Month ? I try to explain this poor service to my various Dr's only to fall on def ears. The insurance Co. gives you the run around instead of investigating. CVS tries to fustrate it's customers by turning the tables only to cover up there bad behavior. Price fluctuations on the same monthly product from $40.-to-$200. dollars all the time. They always try to over supply you. Oh this store most thier perishable goods are usally 1 week from expiration or it is stale tasting already. read more

I just had a bad experience here. My doctor's office sent this location two prescriptions, call them Med A and Med B. After a day or so, I stopped by and was told they had never received the prescriptions. My doctor's office sent them again and I was notified they were ready. I went there last night, but the cashier/clerk was so disorganized that after 20 minutes in line, it was going to be another 20 or more, so I left. I returned tonight. I was told they had only one prescription for me, Med B. This was a concern for me because I was out of Med A. The clerk checked and he said they had no record of my doctor's office sending a prescription for Med A. I said I would call the doctor's office again and paid for the one prescription. It was marked with a printed tag on the outside of the bag as being Med B. When I got home, I opened the bag and inside was a bottle of Med A - the same medication the clerk said they had no record of receiving. I will be taking this up with CVS' management. read more

On Friday, April 7, 2023, my husband picked up several medications for both of us through the drive up at CVS Pharmacy at Northtowne. We always get our medications from the same pharmacy so it is easier to keep track of possible drug interactions and changes as medications are added to our profile. As it turns out, this pharmacy refilled this medication using my old dose and not the newer (current) dose. I discovered the problem just now and called them. They said they couldn't take the meds back even though they remain sealed in their original packages. I understand that, but they refuse to return the $50.66 that we paid for their mistake in filling the wrong dose. I cannot use this medication and I have to pay for it too? This pharmacy did actually fill this medication earlier with the correct dose, so it is not like they weren't aware of the dose change. This frustrates me. We don't scrutinize each and every medication when we pick up several at a time because there is always a long line of cars waiting in the drive up. If we were one of the many people on a low or fixed income, $50 could be the difference between eating or not. This is very poor customer care and, even though we have been using this pharmacy for many years, we will be changing pharmacies. read more

First the Rx in question was sent to the Northtowne CVS. First they said it would be ready at noon. I called at noon to be sure, as my experience has been to confirm it's actually ready. Then I'm told they don't HAVE ANY of the medication, and was told with a snotty attitude to call the NEXT day at 4:00 to see if they got the order. They didn't. I had the doctor transfer the Rx to the CVS on Seventh. They also didn't have the medication in stock! Since the doctor had already gone to extra trouble I couldn't very well ask him to transfer again. The nurse at the doctor's office suggested calling and speaking to a supervisor, which I called & asked for. Turned out there was no supervisor available, if they have one at all. I ended up reaching the same pharmacist I'd spoken to earlier that day. I was so angry by then, being the Rx was 3 days late that I told her the medication was needed and it was unacceptable that they weren't even capable of ordering enough medication for what's needed. It's not like a grocery store being out of my favorite ice cream. Finally she said she had some, 30 tablets out of 90, and that she would fill it partially. Here we are now 3 days later with no phone call saying the rest were ready to pick up. However it goes, as they're closed until 9 ( the site says 8:00 ) and if for some miracle the prescription is ready I'm changing pharmacies. Not to a different CVS, that's for sure and never again. To a completely different one. I only gave 2 stars because the pharmacist was patient and understanding. Whoever runs this place needs an education in medicine. It's bad enough they have almost as much power as the DOCTOR, which fries my a#+, but certain medication, as a matter of fact many medicines carry a warning not to stop the dose under any circumstance. If they want to have this power over private medical decisions, then it would follow that they weren't completely uneducated when it comes to these important issues. A person could end up in the hospital because of their negligence. I won't be taking these chances again or put in the position that I'm the one who is made to look unreasonable. I'll be contacting the Board of Pharmacy and any other authority relating to this kind of moronic mistake. read more

Several months back I was driving all over Reno to every drug store pharmacy type place I could think of.... I needed an (apparently) very obscure hair product that was probably much more popular in the 80's (that crazy spray on temporary hair color stuff - a great addition to any costume or themed party!). So now I'm somewhat of an expert on CVS stores and Walgreens. This CVS was a creeper.... even at 3 in the afternoon. Its in a bad neighborhood, and the parking lot is awkwardly huge, so it makes the neighborhood look even worse because there is a ton of asphalt with this square CVS building in the middle. There were kids loitering with their ADORABLE white bulldog who I wanted to pet (but I was scared of the kids lol) - They were getting eyed by the employees the whole time. I got the feeling like theft and general criminal acts might be a common fear of the employees. Everyone seemed a little on edge. The store is much bigger than the others, but half of it is devoted to beer and liquor so it doesn't make the selection any better than the other locations. That being said, they didn't have what I needed :/ So I walked out.... the wrong way.... I ended up in the entrance turn around thing that I wasn't supposed to be in - so the layout out is a bit strange. A while later I was in the neighborhood and needed some Tylenol and figured it would be MUCH cheaper at CVS than the Raleys across the street (it was like 10pm this time, and MUCH creepier). I asked to use their bathroom and they said No, only for paying customers. So I grabbed my Tylenol and asked again at the checkout stand (since I was a paying customer). They kinda looked at me, and looked at each other, and said, no we locked it cause we are closing in 30 minutes. Oh darn :( Honestly its totally understandable since I bet they have bums trying to use their bathrooms all the time - to take showers in the sink and stuff - but just so others know, if you have a potty emergency don't pull into CVS, drive on down to the McDonald's maybe :) All in all, it is a CVS almost like any other - but I say keep on driving to the next nearest pharmacy (I like the one on California/Mayberry). read more

I had stopped using CVS because they stopped carrying our favorite beer. We really liked the customer service and were sad to leave them for another store. I needed a phone cord/connection and seen them here before at the register. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. The phone charger was well made and braided for strength. I am so disgusted by this CVS location. I dropped off a prescription and was told 30 minutes to pick it up. I returned 1 1/2 hours later, and it still wasn't filled. I returned today to pick it up. It took them a couple minutes to find it. The clerk was rude, and practically threw my meds at me. It is a new prescription, so a consultation was required. Didn't get that either. Sadly my employer requires prescriptions to be filled at CVS. So...I will try another location. Hopefully one that is friendlier...and cleaner!! read more

A young guy with a shaved head working around 9 today 7/6 helped me , it is very rare to meet someone who gives you faith in humanity. This gentleman greeted me when I arrived helped me get stuff from a locked case and was extremely helpful. He should be working in a 5 star hotel in hotel hospitality , it was a stellar experience that I have never had at any cvs in California or Nevada! Kudos to the entire Pharmacy team at this location i was visiting the area from the los angeles on a motorcycle event when i realized i left an important medicine at home so the next day i walked up to the pharmacy counter and explained my situation and that i really needed my medication. they could not be more accommodating and empathetic with my concerns. they said i am not the only one asking them fir help so they asked if i could wait for my meds and would be filled within 15 minutes well low and behold i wasn't even there 5 minutes when they called my name i could not be happier with service and their handling of my situation My hat is off to them for a job well done and recommend them highly read more

My prior employer required us to change our pharmacy to CVS and get 90-day prescriptions OR we would be charged a premium fee (in addition to the normal prescription charge). I didn't want to do this as I was very happy with Costco. CVS prices are very high and customer service leaves much to be desired!! Fast forward to today; 8-9-21 10am, I had been let go at this job. I called the 7th St Reno CVS to find out what I need to do about the lack of insurance, could I fill today as a cash patient, were there any discount cards they could offer, could I transfer back to Costco? Etc. The pharmacist on the phone was very terse and short telling me he couldn't help me until we ran it in 2 days. I said "ok, how about some general advice?" Nope. I would have thought he would want to help keep a customer at a location that has been steadily declining in the last few years. I thanked him, hung up and called Costco and begged to transfer my stuff back. read more
