I've used this pharmacy for about 15 years and shopped here as well. If I thought for a while, maybe I could come up with a bad experience. I guess there was the time we had trouble getting the twins the same med when they were babies and couldn't at first because they have the same birthday. Before and after that, I can report weekly positive experiences. My elderly mother was on several meds and they got it right. Dane for the rest of the family. Problems were usually solved within five minutes and for sticky problems, I got in Yvonne's line. The woman is a magician. If I needed a med for Mom, she made it happen (unless it was in the doctors end but even then she got it done ASAP). You don't many people like her. Of course she often isn't working and the others are good, too. I appreciate that the retail section is best and clean. It's better stocked than many other drugstores and if I see it on their website or app and it's supposed to be at this location, it almost always is. Again, unlike their competitors. At this location I am shears greeted at the door. People are helpful. I wanted a tiny tube of Vaseline for my lips once and an employee walked the store with me, checking five location as well as digging through the inventory in the back. I'm sure issues emerge with about-to-be-fired staff or others having a bad day. People steal items so it's incorrectly listed on the app. Compared to other stores, this CVS is leaps and bounds ahead. read more

Regarding the CVS Pharmacy on Placer. Often times the service is fine. Today.......Not! The clerk dealing with customers, her name is Kelli. Completely Rude! ...and that would be the nicest way to describe her customer service and attitude. Service was beyond disappointing and she should not be in that job. read more

CVS Pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - REDDING, California

Today I received terrible customer service from the Pharmacist working the August 25th shift around noon- this gentleman had maybe a russian accent? Not sure - he was different than the other Pharm I've talked to before who was great. This guy was so rude I am contemplating taking my prescriptions elsewhere. I had a straight forward question - "Does the price of my non-generic prescription change whether I buy a 60 day or 90 day supply?" (in other words...will I save money if I buy a 90 day supply vrs. a 60 day supply? ....my prescription is very expensive and it was a reasonable question he should have been able to answer quite easily as a pharmacist.) He proceeding to not answer me and tell me several times he had other people to help and had to go - like I was "keeping" him on the line. I could not believe the absolutely sub-par and horrible service this fella thought was professional. I finally said...I am not keeping you on the line- I am asking one reasonable question you are not answering me. Then exasperated he said he would have to grab his calculator and figure out my question.....um....exactly....THANK YOU for doing your job - finally! He could not have been more rude and out of line and clearly communicated his priority was not good service and that his customers were a waste of his time. This CVS location is not what it use to be. For years I got my prescriptions here and they were always great. This guys was truly awful.... spare yourself the experience. read more

They all go to lunch at the same time!. It's common business practice to take turns for lunch. Most people have to do errands at this time. Also they always have a long wait. The CVS I want to in another location would just have one tech for checkout but she would move everyone quickly. This place never does. Expect a long process. Very upset about my experience today. I went in to CVS this morning to look at their Easter basket stuffers with my family. The older man working there kept watching us like he was trying to catch us doing something we weren't supposed to? Made me incredibly uncomfortable. I was ready to buy a bunch of items but because of his behavior I only purchased 3 small items. While using self checkout he was hovering over us. The Pharmacists that is a lady at this location is awful. She has terrible customer service skills. There was a problem with a connection between the hospital and the pharmacy and it was an issue on the pharmacy side, There should be a a policy where the pharmacy can take a paper prescription from the hospital emergency room doctor if there are technology issues. But, she wouldn't do anything. I called the hospital and they said have her call us and we'll verity the prescription but she wouldn't do that either. She just flat out would not take care of the prescription for my husband who fell from a rooftop and needed the pain meds. This is not the first terrible interaction from this same pharmacist who did not understand the difference between a rescue inhaler and an every day inhaler. I'm done CVS, your service is the worst. I won't ever get another prescription filled here or at any CVS. read more

Tried CVS on Placer a few years back & couldn't get my prescriptions because they kept messing up the insurance, then demanding I pay cash. Had to fight for every single prescription I got, and didn't get 95% of them, ever. I think they did it because I have Medicare & they can get more money from private pay. So I switched pharmacies and never went back. Now CVS has bought out Owens. Since we'd been told it would be the same staff, I told my doctor (yesterday) that I'd give them a try before switching. Had to call today because they shorted my arthritis medication, so I ran out 3 days early. I know I didn't take any extra because my care provider puts them in those little days-of-the-week pill containers, so they're all set up correctly & I don't get confused. And I had 3 left over when she picked up the last prescription, so I'm short at least 11 pills. One call, and I can already tell this will be a nightmare. They didn't set things up so when you call the old number (the only number I had), it just hangs up instead of giving the new number. Had to look online to get the number, and when I called, they forced me to listen to a whole list of ads before it rang through. Then a very rude women just said, "Putting you on hold, one caller ahead of you" and just hung up. Back on hold with more loud music & endless ads for stuff I'm not going to buy anyway. I have a brain tumor, so the kind of noise they have playing while on hold is unbearable to my poor brain, and I had to hang up because I was getting an aura from it--that means I'm about to have a seizure. So since my prescriptions for this month has already been sent to them (and I need special forms filled out for some of it), I'm stuck with them for this month. Guess I'll have to do without my arthritis medication for a few days, because I can't call them. In my considerable experience, CVS is the WORST PHARMACY EVER. Check the news & you'll see they're one of the greedy businesses which illegally contributed to the current opiate addiction crisis in this country because they handed out literally MILLIONS of pills more than they're supposed to without reporting them. There are better pharmacies out there that actually care about customers and aren't so greedy or unscrupulous. I urge you to avoid these crooks and find another pharmacy. It's your choice whether you want honest, caring service from your pharmacy, or the nightmare you will face at CVS. Of course, as long as you have excellent insurance or can afford to pay cash---or if you're addicted to pain pills---then you'll probably LOVE a "pharmacy" like CVS. read more

Always not enough help. 20-30 minutes is an average wait even when the Dr. Calls it in ahead and CVS tells you it's ready. Some of the staff trys to help but others don't care and will take a break even when the line is 5-10 deep. I'm looking for another pharmacy. read more

This pharmacy has got to be one of the worst pharmacies I have ever been to. The line is very long and you have to wait. Each time I would put my perscriptions on auto refill, they never had them filled on time. I would have to call and make sure it was ready before I drove to pick them up. However, if you want to get ahold of them on the phone, be sure you have time to wait on hold for 30 minutes or more. I usually end up hanging up after 20 minutes because I don't have time to sit on the phone. As for the people, that's the only reason they get two stars. They are nice to deal with and some of their pharmacists are also very polite. I have had one who was very rough and never seems to like to answer questions. However the lady pharmacist is very nice and informative. read more

I hate to write such a negative review, but after years of poor service I must. I've continued to go to CVS because it's convenient, but on principle I need to move on. There is a long time pharmacy worker who is spectacular and one of their current pharmacists (gentleman) is good, but their other pharmacist and techs are so awful they cancel out the good staff. I recently picked up a prescription for my daughter and it had half the number of pills required. The pharmacist made a "math error". Thankfully my daughter counted the pills in the car and caught it before we left. I never would have done that and now I wonder how much I've been shorted over the years. There is always a long, long wait. They never have enough staff working. This was exasperated by a recent change to provide even less customer service than their already abysmal level. I have prescriptions on auto-refill and received a text letting me know I had 2 to pick up. After waiting 20 minutes for my turn, the pharmacy tech told me there was only 1 prescription ready. I asked her when the second would be ready and why I got the text saying 2 were ready. She told me in order to ask any questions at all I would have to move from the pick up line to the drop off line. I had already been in the store waiting for 35+ minutes at this point. The pharmacy tech said her computer would not allow her to see any of my prescription information. I find this hard to believe since I had just been in the pharmacy and talked to a tech at the very same register a week prior. That previous tech (the one good one) was happy to assist me and miraculously was able to access the information from the very same terminal! This is complete BS. The woman I interacted with was brand new and she could obviously care less about providing any kind of customer service. She was rude, rude, rude. Never again. I don't care if I have to drive across town. I will go to Walgreens where they have qualified staff and I can wait in the drive thru to keep my blood pressure down. This pharmacy is horrible! read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I stood in the drop off line while people behind the far rear counter looked at me like I was an inconvenience to them. After several minutes watching people go straight to the pickup line, I got in that line. After twenty minutes in the pickup line, I asked to drop off a prescription for nausea and pain medication for my wife that has cancer. The girl promptly announced, "you need to be in that line" and pointed to the other register only three feet from her location. I explained that I had waited at line but no one was working in that area and pharmacy employees in the back saw me but no one came to help me. Just then, I different lady from the back walked up and started helping another customer that had apparently arrived in the drop off line while I was waiting twenty in the pickup line. The two lines are separated by an aisle so you can't see the other line(s). Then, the employee I was talking to sarcastically pointed to the other register and said with her snotty attitude. "well there is someone at that register now". I am a fifty seven year old retired US army combat medic. If CVS pharmacy wants me and my wife's money for prescriptions, they are going to have to figure out the logistical problems they have they have and address the clueless employees with snotty attitudes. All I want is to give CVS my money and get cancer medication for my wife. read more

As the others have said, this pharmacy is the worst. I don't know why I keep coming back besides the fact it is extremely close to my house. The lines are always long. There is only ever one person at the counter. I typically wait 20-45 minutes in line. Probably about a half a dozen times I have received a text or call saying my prescription was ready when it was not,. Therefore, I waited in line, found it was not ready, then waited in line again when they called my name. FRUSTRATING!! They are rude on the phone, when you can get someone to even pick up. They are unwilling to work with you on customer service issues (i.e. to be the liaison between you and the doctor if a name brand, or refill is needed, or other typical things other pharmacies do). The only bright spot at this pharmacy counter is the pharmacy technician Brandon who is always polite and helpful no matter how busy they are. He always has a kind word or smile, which makes all the difference some days. read more

To top everything off, they have shorted me on my pain med twice and when I complained I was told that the pharmacist counts them himself and of course they would not replace the amount that was missing. I'm very ill and I wanted a nearby pharmacy that was open seven days a week, so I switched to CVS on Placer St. BIG mistake. Since I have a lot of prescriptions now, I opted for phone notifications and found myself harassed by recordings that came every hour, all weekend, disturbing my rest even AFTER I had picked it up. The store told me the only way to stop it was to go to their website and opt out of ALL notifications, which means I had to call their pharmacy every time (and wait endlessly on hold) to see if something's ready. Yet even when I called ahead of time, there was a problem nearly every time I sent my care provider to pick something up. I've run out of medication several times due to their ineptitude. Today was the last straw. (This is a long story, but typical of my dealings with CVS.) I called in a refill two days ago, and it was supposed to be ready at 2 pm yesterday. I sent my care provider on time, and they gave her a different prescription instead of what I needed. I sent her back today, and she called me because they told her I hadn't called anything in. So (once again) I called them and the person I spoke to was clearly just making excuses to get rid of me and had no idea what she was doing. First she told me I had no more refills; I told her the bottle said I had five. Next she told me the refills had expired; I told her my doctor had just called in a new prescription a month ago, and that my bottle said the refills were good until next year. Next she told me that my insurance wouldn't cover it; I responded that they always had before. Then she finally figured out that she was trying to charge it to my old insurance plan which is no longer active. Finally, she told me they were out of the medication (a frequent occurrence) and they couldn't get it until late tomorrow, which meant I'd have to go without it for two days since my care provider would be off work by the time it arrived and I was already out due to the delay. I asked to speak to a manager and he was extremely rude, making it clear that he considered me an irrational female. Finally, he called back and told me he could give me another--supposedly comparable--medication, though I feel uneasy at taking something other than what my doctor has prescribed, especially since CVS seems to be staffed by the Three Stooges and certainly isn't medically qualified to treat me, since I have a serious & complex condition. However, because I don't want to end up back in the ER, I have to take what they give me or do without. My care provider returned empty-handed and begged me, "Please go to L--'s Pharmacy instead!" Since I don't want to put her through any more of this crap, can't afford to waste the hours she works, and can't deal with this stress any longer, I called the other pharmacy and started the process of switching. Better to drive a little further than deal with CVS one more day. This will be the last prescription I EVER fill with these boobs. They don't care about their customers, they're poorly trained, rude, and it's plainly just a matter of time before they kill someone. Apparently, they don't understand that they're dealing with sick people who sometimes need their medication to survive. I know this review is long, but it's the only way to make clear how dangerous CVS is. If you value your life, stay away from this pharmacy. read more

I am surprised to see so many rude and negative comments from these people who obviously do not understand how medicine works. Being a pharmacist and support staff is a very challenging and demanding job. As a medical professional and a patient of this CVS, I have always been satisfied with my care here. Each of the pharm techs for the last 5 years have been kind, professional, communicative and go out of their way to assist me and my patients. They can't control the timing for a response from your medical provider or insurance. The lead pharmacist Dr Ted is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely cares about his regular, respectful customers. And if you go at a logical time to pick up your meds - you don't have to wait in a long line. I've never had a wait issue. If you go when most adults have time to go to a pharmacy, you're going to have to wait, that's just common sense... This is the pharmacy that I recommend for quality care and quick med fills. And I am grateful to work with their wonderful team. read more

I used this pharmacy for 6 months. Every month they called to say my prescription was ready. When I went in, only one would be ready. They would tell me my Dr. did not refill the other one. Dr. office would tell me they had called it in 2 or 3 days earlier. Every time the pharmacy staff would check and find it and then say, "Well, we are really busy." One day I stood in line for 20 minutes to find out they had refilled one prescription twice and not filled the other. When I complained, the man told me, "We have sick people who need their medicine and they come first. We are very busy." Do them a favor. They are understaffed and overworked and incredibly rude, take your business somewhere else. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We needed a refill for a rescue inhaler for a patient with stage 4 COPD. Unfortunately, the caregiver failed to realize the patient was out of refills and when we attempted to refill the prescription on a Saturday we were told they would not be able to refill her prescription and would send a refill request to the physician. Mind you this is a rescue inhaler and something vital to the patient's ability to breath in emergencies which is often given her stage of COPD. In the past when problems like this have arisen the pharmacist (with another pharmacy, not CVS) was able to send a request for a refill to the physician and document that they provided an emergency refill to the patient. This perfectly legal when it is in the best interest of the patient. The pharmacist, Ted at CVS was unwilling to do this despite knowing that the patient's safety and well being is dependent on her inhaler. Ted was concerned that we would not return to his pharmacy to pick up our other prescriptions despite explaining to him that he would be able to bill for the prescription when he received the refill prescription from the physician on the next business day. So disappointed that our local pharmacy sold out to a big corporation and that they have zero concern or connection with the community they serve. read more

Horrible service, I asked to transfer a prescription and was told they could take care of it. Two days later, found out they failed to fax my information to complete the process. Asked again and was told they would take care of it, failed again. Spoke with them again, asked them to call as I was leaving for several days...no problem, they would take care of it. No phone call, no meds, out of luck for me, no big deal to them. Had to reschedule with my mail order pharmacy cause these people totally failed to do their job. Now I have to wait. I agree with previous reviews. However, I really doubt that anyone has waited 20- 45 minutes. In order to assuage my angst, I often start my stopwatch when I start my wait. 9 - 13 minutes would be the longest..it just feels longer. The most frustrating is the lack of help available. The one person who is on the counter has to put up with all of us who are tired of waiting. The two people on the phone with insurance companies is really aggravating. (Yes...I know they are working to get the medicines processed so that insurance will pay for it. The fact that the real, live people who have come through town, braving the 100 degree (plus) temps outside are feeling like someone really ought to pay attention to them, is a recurring theme while in line.) In CA if you have a new prescription you have to declare that you don't want to have a consult with the pharmacist. However...you can't do this if they are at lunch. REALLY? Is there only ONE pharmacist in this town? Could someone schedule 2 pharmacists in the morning so that when all of the people who only have their lunch time to pick up a new drug would have someone available to them? REALLY????? The lack of customer consideration is painful in this pharmacy. One day, I was so frustrated with the wait that I took my prescription across town to the other CVS. Well that turned out to be a huge goat screw. Now I have to go between 2 stores that frustrate the hell out of me. I, too will be going to Rite-Aid with all of my prescriptions. read more

Don't use this pharmacy unless you want to spend extended periods of time standing in line. I have 7 regular prescriptions I have to have filled at different times, and the waiting in line frequently goes beyond 40 minutes. It's not uncommon to have 10 people in line and only one person working the pick up and drop off window. The staff is nice enough, but you will pay dearly with your free time if you choose to go here. read more
