Sadly I'm not a huge fan of this CVS location. It's the closest to my house and I stopped here on the way home from the doctor's office after having my infant seen. The doctor had recommended some probiotic drops and I figured CVS would be a good bet. Now it had been years since I'd gone inside of this location as I usually go to the Walgreens across the street, but this was more convenient and I had kids with me so we popped inside. I feel like all pharmacies are kind of like this but I find the navigation of them to be a bit insane. Why it's so hard to find what you're looking for is beyond me. Once I found the right aisle they didn't have what I was looking for, which was super annoying. I actually ended up having to order it off of Amazon, and I left with a four year old screaming because I wouldn't purchase her a toy. I know it's likely by design, but whoever decided to put kids toys on the same aisle as kids medicines is clearly not a parent. read more

Have lived in Kansas City my whole life and this is the worst pharmacy I've been to. Will be changing it next opportunity. Did not have steroids ready for our child after 5 hours. Always claim they are short staffed or other excuses. Do yourself a favor and do not come here. Top notch service today, which is usually the case! Went in to pick up a prescription and get my flu shot. There was a constant line, but the patrons were smiling because they could see that the awesome pharmacy manager and the most excellent technician were handling everybody with amazing precision, and smiling themselves. As a pharmacist not in the retail pharmacy industry, I could tell that there was probably a staffing issue, but they smiled through it and everyone seemed satisfied. Sure I had to wait about 10 minutes for a flu shot, but you know what? I didn't have to make an appointment with my doctor and drive 10 minutes there and back! In addition, and this is just in general, insurance issues are like 97% the responsibility of the patient, not the pharmacist. You must be prepared with what your insurance will cover or not, and what your copay is. The pharmacy processes the information you give them. Don't act shocked when you get an unexpected denial or high copay. I say 97% because, well, just look behind the counter. So much of retail pharmacy is still done by hand, and when they process hundreds and hundreds of prescriptions a day, there will bound to be an oversight. There were a few patients in line acting shocked that their refill request was deemed too early (by the insurance company!) or the copay changed (yes, the insurance company!). Don't dare take it out on the pharmacy staff! If you want to express dissatisfaction, please take it out on your insurance company, or the corporate offices of the pharmacy. This CVS is the closest to my home and most convenient however I will be taking my business elsewhere. #VoteWithYourDollars My beef is with the Pharmacy. The Pharmacist Matthew is great; very pleasant, helpful, there when you need him, etc. The problem is with his wildly useless staff. Slow and inconsistent would me being nice. It's a chore to go through the drive through. If you can't hear me through your PA system and need to know my name, you have to check my damn I.D. anyways, so why waste your time. Better yet, why waste my time? The last two times I went they didn't even fill one of my rXs bc they said insurance didn't cover it. Under further inspection, they assumed - they didn't know. So they just didn't fill it. Lazy. Incompetent. If you get what you pay for, CVS must be paying pharmacy techs less than I pay my son to cut the lawn bc damn! Update... my doctor called in a 7-day rX at 9am. When I waited and called at 4pm, their automated system said it wouldn't be easy until 6:30. I show up at 6:30 and they say it'll be another hour because they're three hours behind. The lack of a consistent experience is the only consistent experience they can provide. And I've now heard 2 different pharmacy techs use vulgarity as if I'm not sitting here. Done. read more

Extremely rude and unprofessional. I went to the lane that said "full service" to pick up a prescription, as the other lane says "drop off only". Once I pulled up they said "you here for a Covid test?" I said no, and they replied "go to lane 2" then click. I had to pull around and get in the back of the long line. No "we're so sorry, but at this time lane 1 is only for Covid testing" Just unnecessarily rude. This is the second CVS pharmacy I've dealt with overly rude employees. Taking my business to Walgreens from now on. read more

I am currently on hold with the pharmacy and have been for 58 minutes! Do they not have enough staff to pick up the phone? Ridiculous!

I stopped in to pick up several items for a couple of customers. I used the restroom prior to shopping (during COVID-19) and I must say that this location did not take the time to clean or wipe down anything in this store. The doors to both bathrooms and the door where employees are allowed was a dirty mess! The dirt and germs was so bad it looked like mud. After using the facilities and having to wash my hands, the sink and the handles were a mess! I used toilet tissue to turn on and off the faucet. read more

Terrible customer service, and no one seems to care. I was on hold for 1 hr 15 mins and no one answered the phone. When I called the front of the store I was told they were short-staffed (this is frequent) so they cannot answer the phone. If that's the case, this should be communicated somehow. I don't get the impression the staff behind the pharmacy counter are very concerned about customer service. read more

I went for a quick visit and had a few items I wanted to pay cash for. A lady there (whoever was working at 3:30pm on Sunday November 22nd I believe her name was Lauren) was so rude and didn't want to help check my mom and I out. She told us we have to learn how to use the self checkout, which we knew how just didn't want to to ensure we got to use our coupons/my mom had heavy items/and I wanted to pay with cash which you can't with the machines. I tried to make things go smoothly by using self checkout as the lady was incredibly rude to my mom, then i realized it was cash only and she had to have another gentlemen (HE WAS SO KIND. And amazing and helpful btw) ring it up 3 times to fix her simply not wanting to do her job. Thank you to those who want to provide assistance safely when needed. We will not be back to this location however if we have another experience like this. read more

I've been here over an hour waiting on prescriptions they put back on the shelf 1 week after filling them. WTF. The lead pharmacist on duty was nice enough, but couldn't seem to get it together. That said, there is one pharmacy technician here who is always kind, courteous, helpful and offers top-notch service. He's honest and apologetic when things don't go quite right, but as long as he's the one serving me, I can pretty much guarantee things go well. read more

I've been going to this pharmacy for years and it's never been managed well. Today I go to the drive thru to pick up a prescription that my DR transmitted to them over 2 hours ago and they tell me it will be another hour before it's ready as they are 4 hours behind. How can you mismanage your pharmacy so badly that you can't fill a prescription that you're had for 2 hours and someone is there to pick it up? Prioritize that one over others that may not be picked up for days? Why can't this pharmacy ever have my prescription ready when i get there? Please find someone to fix this pharmacy's throughput and customer service. It can't be that hard. No other pharmacy i've been to operates like this. Corporate culture problem that this is acceptable. I guess i'll finally switch to walgreens. Its a bit more expensive but it's just not worth the hassle anymore to stay with CVS. read more

Pretty sure I left with more germs on me than I needed getting through the drive thru interaction. Yelling my name, spelling my name and stating birthdate into the parking/drive line feels less than comfortable due to difficulty with microphone. Interactions with attendant were challenging as she multitasked wuth handling Covid test samples and running credit card payments shooting and sucking the dirty tube through the air vacuum deliver tunnel. Yikes- Covid testing arrow this way, and prescription pick up that way signage was strikingly similar to poster board tri-fold for science fair. It doesn't weather the KS seasons well. Corporate maybe step up and help your hourly employees. Do fund the signage at the least, because it appears Covid has been more than what would be considered for a temporary makeshift sign. Just shy of March 13th, 2021 now. Sorry to complain publicly, definitely not my style, but sanitation and clean is necessary at the least when picking up a prescription in drive thru, which is somewhat the reason for less interaction during Covid. But felt closer and less safe in doing that. Sorry after 20 years with CVS, gotta transfer. It will be obvious when changes happen because it's all hung out there at the drive thru, literally. I had to give my mother some medication and because it affected her so quickly, I got concerned and called the pharmacist. A technician answered the phone, consulted the pharmacist, and relayed the message to me. The pharmacist herself called me right back to give me explicit instructions on how to monitor my mother's blood pressure and heart rate to make sure they were in the appropriate range. I appreciate the pharmacist going the extra mile to talk to me directly. read more

Downfall pricing is way too high without a card. They don't even offer a card when you checkout. I paid 50% more for cold medicine and i don't realize it til I got home and was too sick to go back. read more
