I know I'm supporting an individual family who take pride in what they do, and are willing to go the extra mile when needed, as opposed to a corporate chain who does everything as cheaply as possible and treats me like a number.

You see, I run, and running makes me want ice cream. So this time instead of stopping at Sonics.... I went in, and was surprised at the weird empty shelves on one end. The other part is a long old time 50's looking ice cream soda bar. There was '50's music playing. There are some booths. The menu is not large, but there's only one woman serving. I ordered a hot dog which was 3.50 and a strawberry ice cream soda. I was hoping for strawberry topping in the soda, but she used strawberry flavoring. I was hoping for whipped cream, but it wasn't offered. The soda was good. The hotdog was common. It isn't like Clintons Soda Fountain in Independence which is really good and uses toppings and fruit. Fox's was fun for an outing. But I'd rather go to Clintons Soda Fountain. The service, though, was spot on and enjoyable.

It has a counter the length of the building and some tables. The vibe was definitely the old school fountain, neon, oldies in the radio, fizzes, ice cream, etc. There menu is very limited for food. Hot dogs, tuna salad, egg salad, grilled cheese, and chili. They have a grill but when they reopened the health department said they needed a new hood limiting the options. I had a inbetweenie weenie, Frito pie with a hot dog, and a chocolate shake. The hot dog was ok. Nothing fabulous, not bad. A little bland and no heat in the chili. The chocolate shake was good, but not wow. Service was very friendly although some comments made me uncomfortable and responding with a nod and smile seemed best. My bill was $11.11. not ridiculous, but sure seemed high for what I had. I don't think I'll eat there again. Maybe go with a group to enjoy the fountain experience. They close at 4. Later hours could really help the I've cream side of the business.

Other things? It totally depends. I wish there was a kiosk like at Ikea where you can type in what you are looking for and they tell you which aisle. I also wish there was a self checkout. I feel like I'm always waiting behind loads of people just to buy one thing. At any rate, I found what I was looking for here, and it was fine, but nothing to really write home about.

The pizza guy gave us some good intel on what to get and not get, and our pies were made perfectly and brought out hot to us. The bakery has a great selection of freshly made cookies, cakes and other fun items and they were all reasonably priced. I had a peanut butter explosion and the other ladies had some fun frosted sugar cookies. For me the cookies were too crumbly but they loved them. The reason for 3 stars was lack of customer service. I had to go to the front to get cups for soft drinks. The woman I approached didn't say 1 word to me when I told her what I needed. She just walked away to a register where she rang in my purchase. It would have been nice had she said, "follow me," or "I can help you with that." But i figured out what she was doing and paid at the register and then told her I had a problem. She said, "what?" with an irritated tone. I told her I needed the cups I had just paid for. Again, she walked away from me, apparently expecting me to follow her, and I did. Then she asked another employee to hand me the cups. The other woman did that and I thanked her. The cashier who rang up our few groceries was pleasant and the bagger actually joked with me, so at least I had that as I was leaving.

The Robot service has become useless! The Scripts needed for renewal are not the ones in the que & then you are told they cannot renew & suggest you call your doctor . First of all let's be clear, this is a Walgreens, it doesn't need to be the best thing ever, it just needs to be an efficient pharmacy, that's friendly, and gets your medication to you in a timely manner. While overall my experience here has been ok, there have been a few things that have been problematic. The biggest issue I had with this location came a few months ago when my daughter was prescribed a specific medication that needed to run a certain amount of days to be effective. When I pulled up to get the medication I saw them pour some out of the bottle before they handed it to me, which seemed odd but I figured they were trying to ration what they had or maybe it was policy to not give you too much? either way, I paid and went on my way. When we had about two days left we straight up ran out of her medication which elicited several calls to the pharmacy and to her dr to find out what to do. Long story short, she was fine, and the pharmacy offered to give us more at no extra cost but it was a massive pain to have to do all of this when they could have just filled the prescription correctly the first time. I've had a few other smaller issues with this Walgreens but it's the most convenient location for me so I'll likely continue to go here and hope they can make some improvements.

Depending on what hours you work, it can be really difficult to make it here when they're actually open. Also, I have had a specific medication backordered several times. Last time, it wasn't backordered, but they were only able to fill one month of my three month supply. Most recently, even the drive-through was closed and upon entering, there were four or five people in line to be checked out by a single person. The computer was slow and everyone waited a while. There is not anything efficient or convenient about this location. If I didn't get a discount for coming here through my insurance, I would have changed pharmacies a long time ago.

It was a pricey one which they acknowledged so they ask me would it help if they could give me a coupon to bring down the cost which I thought was very thoughtful, especially when it was very busy they took the time. This CVS is very thoughtful and all the staff normally goes out of their way to help me. I really appreciate it. Thanks for stepping up! Hard to find nowadays.
