I shop at CVS frequently and am an ExtraCare member. Fortunately, I have three CVS locations to choose from, but I often stop at this store because it's conveniently located on my way home from work. On my most recent visit, I arrived at approximately 9:42 p.m. knowing the store closed at 10:00 p.m. I only needed two items and intended to be in and out quickly. As I entered, I noticed Todd standing by the partially closed entrance doors, which I understood as a reminder that the store would be closing soon. Within a minute, Charlotte made an announcement that the store would be closing in 15 minutes, which was perfectly reasonable. What made the experience uncomfortable was the repeated nature of the announcements and the overall atmosphere. While I was searching for an item, Todd remained near the entrance and appeared to be watching me closely. A few minutes later, another announcement stated the store would be closing in 10 minutes. Since there were only two customers in the store, the constant reminders made me feel rushed and unwelcome. When I couldn't locate one of the items, I showed Todd a picture of the product. He told me the store did not carry it and that he had never seen it before, despite the item appearing in CVS advertising. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have visited this location looking for advertised products only to find they were unavailable or not stocked. As closing time approached, additional announcements continued. By that point, I was hurrying through the store trying to locate products that were not available and felt increasingly stressed by the repeated reminders. At checkout, I overheard Charlotte explaining to another customer that employees have difficulty leaving on time when customers enter shortly before closing. While I understand the challenges of closing a store, customers who arrive during posted business hours should not feel as though they are inconveniencing staff simply by shopping. I also want to note that customer service at this location often feels unfriendly. Todd has never greeted me with a smile during my visits and frequently appears unhappy or disengaged. There is also a manager who is often working evenings who has come across as similarly unapproachable. When I ask for assistance, I often feel as though I am interrupting or burdening employees rather than being helped. The combination of limited product availability, difficulty finding advertised items, and consistently unwelcoming customer service has left me questioning whether I will continue shopping at this location. I hope management will consider this feedback and work toward creating a more positive and customer-friendly experience. read more

This is a terrible terrible terrible store due to the intentionally unhelpful workers who clearly don't like people, especially the young girl cashier with the eternally furrowed brow. My experience centered on the supposedly 1 hour photo. Ordered at 4, arrived close to 7 and photos still not ready. Girl tried to avoid helping and went to unpacking boxes. Approached her and she checked computer and asked when I need the photos. Obviously tonight if I wanted them within 1 hour. Bunch of people needed a real cashier that Goofy and Goofier ignored. Eentually I got my photos. Boy tries to ring me up and I inform him I paid online. He says, "no you didn't." Like what?? He scanned the photos, saw that I paid, and handed them to me. The pharmacy workers are very judgmental. I come to pick up simple ibuprofen and I feel like I'm somehow dirty for picking something like that up. Like lady it's ibuprofen!!!!! Also if you have any other prescription other than ibuprofen they might not even have it in stock when you need it. I had the worst experience ever at this location. The pharmacy cashier is very rude and disrespectful and closed the gate without answering my question. Unbeknownst to many, because there is no sign to inform the public otherwise, they shut down for lunch at 1:30 to 2, regardless if patients are waiting in line. The appropriate thing to do is: @service the customers that are in line; @post the lunch time schedule to properly inform the public otherwise; @change the hours online so that the public is fully aware of the pharmacy hours @train the employees to always behave in a professional and respectful manner. @scatter lunch time so to always have a person available to allow pickup of medication. Called today regarding an ongoing issue with a prescription and the girl answering the phone was extremely rude. Was not trying to even resolve the situation or listen to what my concern was. Just said well I'll just put this back on the shelf and you can call when you need it. I explained that's not the issue I do need it . I finally asked her if she was going to stop being rude and listen to what I was trying to explain and I was hung up on ! Never had such a bad experience with a pharmacy tech then with her. I have gone to this pharmacy for years and it is always the worst part of my day. They are so painfully slow but I haven't bothered to switch my prescriptions to a different pharmacy until today. I went to pick up my prescriptions which were ready, waited in a slow line even though there was only one person in front of me, waited for the employee to slowly get my prescriptions and ring me up and then was told I couldn't have the medications because the pharmacist there didn't have credentials. So I was told to come back in an hour or two. Save many years of your life and do not use this pharmacy. It's the worst. read more

The worst Pharmacy "service" EVER. The staff needs more training overall. Their collective general lack of drug knowledge is astounding and their customer service is abysmal. I've been to the Pharmacy only 3 times and each experience has been frustrating. NEVER AGAIN. Posting on my mom's behalf- Flash to Christmas Eve when my mom has driven to 6 stores looking for candy canes (our Elf does a "candy cane hunt" on Christmas morning). Thank goodness for CVS, they had some, Yay! My mom grabs 2 boxes and goes to check out. She tries to pay with her EBT card (candy is allowed), and the cashier, Nicki (not sure of spelling), says "oh, I don't have time for that right now" in a very condescending voice. My mom patiently explains that she just charges the card like a debit card, and it doesn't require additional steps on the cashier. Nicki said "well we don't have time to do that or figure it out". My mom asked for a manager and was refused, but Nicki looked to the other cashier who ask confirmed that they were too busy... yes there were 3 people in line behind my mom, but they truly designed the EBT cards to act like any other electronic payment (fast and easy). My mom was disappointed, embarrassed, and then pulled out the last $5 bill to her name... yes, she literally lives day by day, and paid cash for the candy canes. I am saddened that anyone was made to feel less than due to their method of payment and hope that a manager would look into this and properly train their staff. read more

I don't know what it is, but each time I go to this CVS the service is straight up laughable... SPECIFICALLY the pharmacy staff. Each time I'm helped out by any of the female employees, they are incredibly rude, impatient, and they make sure you're aware that your time is not valued. If you ever want to see employees thay hate their job, look no further. I loath each visit and if it weren't the most convenient location for me I would have stopped going a long time ago. I would not trust this pharmacy with your health or any sort of consistency. The staff is extremely rude and I hate to say it--they do not do their job well. They always place me on hold for an average of 20 minutes. It goes like this: (1) they will only pick up after 10 minutes of me being on the line so as to put me on hold again (2) They pick up to hear my question and put me on hold for another 10 minutes (3) they don't properly answer my question(s). I deal with that every month because they are the closest pharmacy to me. This past month they did something which I thought was inappropriate. They could not fill my prescription and after a whole three weeks they tried calling my doctor in attempt to get it switched to something they have available. Who does that? Do they not understand that our chemistry doesn't simply change because they can't fill my original prescription? That was off-putting. These people are a disappointment. In addition, the pharmacist and her assistants have thick accents that are very hard to understand. I am not being prejudice but it is a concern when I'm talking to someone about matters of health and I feel like we don't understand each other after. This sucks. read more

The staffs here work very slow, they literally will have you waiting in their drive through for over an hour because they are that slow. The girl in pharmacy said I'll be right with you and stood there for a minute and a half before filing away two prescriptions. She then stood there another minute, behind someone on the phone. Never once asking what I needed. I ended up going to the front cashier to get my question answered. Extremely poor service! I had a 12pm appointment for a flu shot with my son. My son got his flu shot. I was asked to wait l.And I waited and waited for 35 minutes while the pharmacist kept taking other people ahead of me for vaccinations. I asked multiple times why I was being made to wait. No one could give me an answer. This CVS Pharmacy is terrible. I was here for 40 minutes waiting to get a flu shot even though I had an appt!!!! And no one would help me. Let me start by saying I was going to create an account to write this review, that's how dispassionate and rude the pharmacist, Sevin, was in handling my situation. Another 1 star for her Pharmacy. I walked up to the Pharmacy counter at 8:54, as Sevin was in the process of closing the checkout window early. I try explaining that I'm sorry for coming in so close to closing, but I simply need a flu shot; she simply looked down to continue closing the window as I tried explain that my parent is sick and I need a flu shot tonight. She said it would take about 5 minutes to prepare a flu shot. Ok perfect, i think she'll help me. I show it 8:55 and that i think we have time. I explain it's an emergency as I'm taking care of my parent who has the flu pretty badly. Sevin, treating me with little patience, putting her hand on her hip and rolling her eyes, simply changes her story. It now takes "10 minutes to prepare a shot" and that she "cant keep the pharmacy system open past 9." Despite how blatantly rude it was to lengthen the time she quoted. I work in an animal hospital and know intimately that it takes 1 minute max, to draw up a vaccine. It shouldn't take more than 30 seconds if you know what you're doing, less even. She is either lazy or uncooperative. She then reccomend I go to a 24 hour pharmacy. I say thanks for all your help, and walk out. After I came back in to ask for the pharmacists name it was past 9 and they still hadn't shut down their computer systems like they claimed needed to be. Sevin, then proceeds to explain how vaccine immunity works after ignoring my request for her name. Sevin explains that I'm "too late" to get a shot as it takes two weeks for immunity to build completely, I'm wearing my hospital scrubs btw. Thats a common sense fact in our line of work and i know that a moderate amount of immunity builds before that point and that may be beneficial in situations exactly like mine. She give me her name after I ask again, and l thank her and leave. This is a horrendous display from the pharmasict Sevin and I hope that management of this pharmacy would staff more compassionate and helpful people. I hope she isn't this rude to all the customers, what If someone needed their heart medication and came in last minute, I hope she doesn't turn away someone who might suffer more than I. P.S. It seems like Sevin is the issue bringing down this CVS's rating and most likely business; just from I can tell of the other reviews. read more

Went today to get some prints off my Iphone and the software on the Kodak Kiosk was acting up. Bianca & the store manager were very attentive to my needs and after some nifty manipulation on the equipment/software they delivered my prints as ordered. I'm with Fia R.!!! Wooo hooo its about time Los Alamitos has their own CVS! Im not a huge fan of rite aid (No ice cream and their CS is pretty bad too). This location is across from the Shell gas station right smack on Blvd. Unlike their sister location (Rossmoor/Seal Beach) there is plently of parking and the store is never really busy. Everything is clean and stocked well. Customer service outstanding and whenever you walk in someone is there to greet you (how nice). read more
