There was a line of 4 people waiting in line with one register open. I detest the time the cashiers spend quibbling over the insignificant rewards card, but this is what delayed the line. She was considerate & observant enough to call 'Casey' to the front. Another minute or so & he finally shows and announces for the "next person in line". By this time, two more people are in line & zig zagged in the aisles. When Casey rings up the woman ahead of me, the last person in line decides she should be next at his register. This is the person that's been waiting the least amount of time. As soon as he wraps up the transaction, I walk up to Casey's register to get checked out. How shocking to find out that Casey, 1) was so rude to snatch the bill out of my hand, then shove the change into my hand because I was due my turn in line and double shocking to find out 2) he is a manager. My judgement is that Casey is an example of MANAGERS BEHAVING BADLY.
Advice for all cashiers everywhere. When you announce "next person in line", ensure it is the next person waiting the LONGEST in line and not the one at the end of the line or closest to the register.
I mainly use CVS for prescriptions only. I am always amazed about the amount of time & delay over their stupid useless invaluable rewards card. That seems to be foremost, the most important aspect of the cashier's transactions, since that is what they utter instead of a greeting you like a human. read more
