She works at the Huntington Beach CVS Pharmacy at the corner of Garfield and Brookhurst. Tara always appears to be focused and friendly. Recently she helped me with a couple of prescriptions. They were a little challenging in terms of refilling them, and I felt like I had a friend on the other side of the counter, looking out for me. I have been coming to this CVS in Huntington Beach for years to fill my prescriptions, and my experience has consistently been excellent. It is unfortunate to see negative ratings here. I truly believe people only think to leave a review when they are unhappy, while the many satisfied, long-term customers stay silent. The entire staff has always been incredibly friendly and helpful to me. I especially want to recognize a pharmacist named BRIAN. He has personally helped me with my medications on two separate occasions when I really needed assistance. Sadly, this establishment (Beach/Garfield, H.B) does not live up to their adds that emphasize their kindness and care for their patients. I went in to ask a question about a medication for my ailing brother. All I had was a picture of the bottle with the name of the medication. I knew chances were slim to none that I would be able to get anything done, but there is a way of treating people with kindness and patience; this pharmacist was none of that. She was short and her face showed a basic annoyance when I asked her for help in getting some advice as to how to move forward. It was as if she "couldn't be bothered," even though there was no one else around. I hope that there is training available to these young pharmacists to help them treat their patients with kindness and respect and just basic courtesy. read more

The pharmacy is horrible. Tried to get same medication three different times. Each time I show up they haven't even begun to process it. They just say they'll get it started, but never seem too. I would give them a zero but that isn't an option. My wife recently went in to pick up a prescription medication. There was confusion as to her prescription and coverage for the medication. My wife was asking the girl working the register questions and she kept being short and dismissive to her as though she was ignorant. It's been multiple times that my wife has delt with this woman and she is always short and rude with her. Unfortunately she forgot her name but next time we are in we will get her name and report her. She needs to get another job where she doesn't work with people. She has terrible customer service. We will also be going to another pharmacy that has better employees working (not angry women anxious to go home). She is petite with brown hair and always has a stank face on. read more

Today, 12 April, I attempted to pick up a prescription in the early afternoon. Signage at the drive up stated the system was down an d would reopen at 3:00 PM. 3:00 P.M. not open and didn't have a target time to reopen. I called at 5:00 PM...had to deal with an annoying " Bot" that couldn't address my question. Called again,a bit later ...phone rang for 6min 45sec..then disconnected. Wow..I must assume customer service is something their corporation is totally unaware of...or just doesn't give a " fig" about!! read more

I've been coming here for years and never had a problem. Recently, I had an atrocious experience where an employee (Romy, (short, chubby Hispanic girl with glasses) was talking horribly about me behind my back and I found out. I confronted her about it and she was not apologetic at all and instead doubled down on it trying to excuse her behavior. I opted to talk with the manager, Chris who happened to be listening in on the entire thing and excused her behavior saying it was a private conversation therefore it was ok that Romy was talking negatively about customers to other customers while working the cashier stand. I addressed this with customer service and after a few weeks they sent me some generic letter showing no sympathy or care in what happened. What an embarrassment. I'm going to continue to press for higher level staff to get this addressed properly. read more

I normally do not write reviews. I got there at 2:01AM and there was a sign that says closed for lunch break will reopen at 2:35AM. There were 2 other costumers waiting. 1 was on foot. I knocked and the worker said this is state law and for us to come back at 2:35AM. I waited and was back in front of the store at 2:35AM, at 2:48 AM is when they opened the store back up. I took a picture so I can send to corporate. It turns out that there were 2 employees there. Very poor customer service. At the very least if there were planning to take long lunches they could at least help us first or write a correct time. I need to go back to bed. Or better yet not take long breaks together at the same time and turn customers away. read more

The entire team of pharmacists suck, their customer service is horrible, I'm not sure why they all have attitudes. I came to pick up my prescription 2 hours after my doctor placed it, I still had to wait a extra hour for them to fill it once I got in the store and then after waiting those 3 hours, I didn't even get my full prescription, I was told they were out of stock and it would take a day for the rest of my prescription to be shipped. Customer service is excellent here. They had a sales associate hang out at the front entrance to greet all the customers. She was soo nice and helpful, and pointed me to two gender neutral restrooms located in the right corner by the entrance. I had to drop into the MinuteClinic so I browsed around and got myself some fancy alkaline water and a snack. To my surprise, the seaweed sesame chips were great and hit the spot! My wait time for the clinic was over an hour and a half, and when I came back, the greeter still remembered me. Checkout was smooth and there were three cashiers available. The cashier was very professional and even asked if I needed anything additional when she already completed the transaction. Happy shopping! read more

This is one of the worst pharmacy to go to. The technicians here are rude. Went to get painkillers and antibiotics as I have severe toothache and I mentioned to them to expedite. Pharmacy asked me to wait for 30 minutes., it was noon. Went in 30 minutes @12:30 they were closing for lunch and asked me to come back after their lunch time 1 pm. Never even mentioned to me that they closed for lunch. Had to wait for an hour 15 minutes. This technicians are rude, no sympathy for anyone. There were other people who had similar issues and complaining about it too. Go to cvs pharmacy in Target on Adam's Ave, people here are much polite and give right information. read more

I wish I could give them a 0 rating. I had to change my pharmacy to cvs or another small pharmacy. I chose this cvs because of convenience. I have been treated so poorly. The pharmacist and their staff are so rude. I ran out of a medication that was due to be refilled on Saturday. They told me when I called them they were out of the drug and had been for 30 days and they didn't know when they would get it. They put me on a waiting list. They did not call me or my doctor to allow it to be transfered to another pharmacy. After 2 hrs with my insurance company I was finally told I had to have a new one from my doctor to get it filled because it had a hold on it. They could have told me that 2 hrs ago. The Chinese woman 50+ yrs old in Pharmacy REALLY NEEDS TO BE TERMINATED STAT, or given weekly training until she's terminated. This has been my occasional pharmacy for over 30 years. EVERYTIME she's the cashier, she argues with me and is verbally combative. She clearly makes her inability to complete simple pharmacy transactions my problem, thus creating a miserable, hostile environment. It's not a language barrier, it's more like a I hate my life barrier. Here's the problem, I would give 5 stars to all the other staff. They are kind, thoughtful, and patient, even in the face of being super busy. It's just this one staff who somehow manages to be employed here. This woman's hostility taints and ruins my 30 years experiences at this CVS to the point of actually bringing it to ZERO stars. I never want to go back. Worst pharmacy I've had to deal with. Whomever is in charge of running this is not doing their job very well. Their systems are always down, there is always a long line and wait to pick up prescriptions, and every time I call I sit on hold for 10+ minutes for someone to pick up. Three different times I had them update my payment information for delivery services, and every time I get a new prescription they say I have to update my payment information. There is nothing convenient about it. Today my doctor sent a prescription at 11 am for a medicine I MUST begin today, it's now been 6 hours and they have still not filled it. I've spent an hour trying to call to see if it is ready because I need to get a ride to go pick it up. Finally after sitting on hold for 35 minutes, they pick up and then hang up the phone. Called back, waited another 25 minutes. They answer and were extremely rude. I calmly tried to explain that I had spent over an hour trying to reach a pharmacist to confirm my prescription was being filled and they cut me off and said they don't have time to hear me. As soon as I said she was being rude, considering I have been trying to confirm this for over an hour, and waited over 6, she then finally apologized and said she will try to help. Although I appreciate her making this effort this should have been how I was treated from the beginning of the call. Either way, I am changing pharmacies and will not use this location any longer. UPDATE: even after all of that, the pharmacist told me 30 minutes. I gave them an hour and a half, went to pick up the prescription and they still told me it was not ready. They then told me that they would expedite it and to wait. I waited 25 additional minutes and got back in line, and another pharmacist told me that I needed to wait another 25 minutes. After waiting on hold for an hour being told 30 minutes, giving them an hour and a half, it still took them another 50 minutes to fill my prescription. I thought it might have just been one of the staff, but clearly it is the entire staff at this pharmacy that are absolutely inconsiderate of people's time. read more

Hands down best vaccination experience for my family to date. My wife and our three kids ages 9, 6 and 2 went to get our vaccines. Our six year old was very afraid of the needle going in but the staff were all so understanding and caring that it went very well. When we left he said, "They were all so nice there! This is one of the bigger CVS stores in the area. My elderly mother and I went there today to do a "big shop." Because she is nearly 86, she needs a shopping cart to steady her a bit. Plus, she can't carry everything she's buying in a basket. Frankly, neither can I - we'd planned on big packs of paper towels and toilet paper. Get this: there are two shopping carts in the entire store. TWO. As kind as the employees were, they couldn't produce a shopping cart for us to use. Apparently, the carts have all been stolen by unhoused people. I can understand why they haven't bought more of the same carts, but why not employ anti-theft measures like a security guard, anti-theft shopping carts or, I don't know....anything? It very much felt like "Oh well, that's just the way it is." Without me there to carry the basket, my mom would have left without spending a dime. This store has a much better selection than the CVS location near our house, but we won't be back. read more

These guys suck! I bought a $25 Starbucks gift card for my wife. We later found out it was never activated and now they are telling me they will NOT refund or replace the card. The store sent me to a corp phone# and they sent me to 4 different depts until I finally got to the Gift Card support. They told me they ONLY handle internet orders and not in store orders and to go to the store to deal with the issue. So I went back too the Manager @ CVS and he basically told me I'm screwed!! He said that the store location WILL NOT help me that ONLY the corp can. So it sounds like a scam going on! They charge you for your card but never activate it ... you can make some good money doing that! October 28, 2021 vaccines being given by "nurse" without mask in small enclosed room. When I informed her I have a problem with no mask. Also Informing her reason "my family trying to survive covid during a cancer diagnosis and bone marrow transplant". Still no attempt to follow CVS policy and public health guidelines. I will never go back to this pharmacy and would highly recommend finding a community pharmacy that truly cares about community health. Too many local pharmacies to put up with this. At City of Hope today for continued treatment and one look at all the children as well as adults fighting for their lives made me realize how important it is to speak up for them.
