I like the organized order of picking up your prescriptions now they've got a service where you can actually pay before you pick your prescription up. I didn't have any luck with the app, but lots of people are using it and enjoying it place a double confirmed that you are the right individual for whatever the prescription is that you're picking up. Loved this pharmacy! The staff is amazing and helpful. Theresa and Janice were both nice and helped me with my prescription. It was my first time at this pharmacy but they made my visit easy and quick. I dropped off my prescription, they took down my information, and was told it would take about 20 min. I was waiting across from the prescription pick-up area. They have a few chairs. 15 minutes later I got a text saying my prescription was ready. I got in line, picked it up, paid and was on my way. Really good experience at this Pharmacy yesterday and I learned something from the staff on how to save money sometimes on Pharmaceuticals. First, my contact with an associate and a pharmacist were both very pleasant and helpful to work with even under Saturday pressure. The line to pick-up was about a 10 minute wait with about 3 people in front of me. You will almost always have a line at the Costco Pharmacy. You can manage your Pharmacy account online at the Pharmacy Website which is separate from the Costco Store website--requires a independent log-in: https://costco.web.medrefill.com/csweb/#/home What I learned: They processed my Rx using my Blue Shield Health Insurance plan, same plan that I have had a for many years. But the Costco Pharmacy negotiated rate for the same med was about 25% less in cost that the Blue Shield negotiated discount rate. Asked the Pharmacist about this--why Costco is less than Blue Shield rates. She said it's just the contract the Insurance Company negotiated for that particular generic is not as good as what Costco negotiated. Varies from med to med and month to month and generic pharmaceutical company to company--no set rules. It's like a commodity. So I was happy that Costco Pharmacy charged me the lower price. Probably the only negative about Costco Pharmacy unlike the store--they are always closed on Sunday--every single one of them. Not only will you depart with fewer meds than your doctor prescribed, but you also will BE FORCED to take whatever they deem is "SAFER," which makes you violently ill, vomit, have migraines, and costs 6X more on a fixed INCOME! They don't realize, as pharmacologists, that after 30 years, elders can't be experimental drug rats! IF IT'S NOT BROKEN, DON'T FIX IT! Patients who witnessed this scene said they'd never heard of or seen this before! I have 0 abuse history; fill on time; and don't drink! I am sick of being abused by these rude, self-appointed control freaks whose job is to follow my doctor's order and fill my script as they've done for years! They've suddenly caused me so much friction the office doesn't want me as a patient. JUST BECAUSE THEY FEEL THEY HAVE SUDDEN SUPERIORITY! THEY'RE EMBARRASSING!!!!! All of this, after JP at Cypress, whom Valerie in HB SUDDENLY conspired with to "taper me off ALL of my medicine," REFUSED my usual 120 script, dispensed only 100, and threatened I'd get that or NOTHING THAT MY DOUBLE BOARD CERTIFIED MD PRESCRIBED that I am compliantly taking, and having a good result with! Cypress also lied in April they "didn't have it in stock", forcing me to drive 30 miles round trip the 23rd, when dated and due the 22nd, as was another med they released (both now refuse; I'm filling elsewhere for half price!) JP said it wasn't there when I called the next day, and then it "suddenly arrived." My Dr. asked, "Why, just to make you suffer?" WTH??? HB states: "We are WORKING with your PA to cease all of your pain medicine, give you what we want for 6X more and make you ill!" (The same PA, who after writing my original script for a year, now suddenly calls me a "drug seeker" for attempting to fill the same script my MD writes, and requesting my yearly vacation override to leave the state!) They also lied I was "Filling in the wrong area, as one Dr. is out of town, even though all pharmacies fill it, as did they for years! And they also lied: "YOU NEED A NEW DOCTOR, AFTER FIVE YEARS!" MORE LIES!!!! THREE DMs stated this is unacceptable; Dr. is boss, but so far, no change! I couldn't see him today, and Eric, the PA, is convinced now Costco is in charge! I went here because their pain med brand is the best, and I even paid double for my other meds until they refused those, too! And now suddenly, "fill day" is no longer day 28 for years, at all Costcos, and sooner at other pharmacies! Why I used Cypress, until they cut my script, which HB threatened my PA to cut again! The DM who promised to handle this is on vacation. Also, HB will waste gas and time on day 29, after driving 3 hours to your LA MD, every 4 weeks, when they're on the way! Then stagger fills by saying "they're out," so I must return 3 days in a row after I finally coincided them. THEY DERIVE JOY IN CAUSING AS MUCH COST, INCONVENIENCE, PAIN AND TIME AS POSSIBLE! THEN INSULT, VILIFY, AND FEEL THEY MUST MONITOR YOU SUDDENLY AT 69, AND CHANGE MEDS, FEELING SUPERIOR TO MY DOUBLE BOARD CERTIFIED MD OF 30 YEARS WITH TWO PRACTICES! EVEN AFTER FORCING MY PA TO DECREASE MY SCRIPT 25% BELOW MY MD'S ORDER, THEY STILL REFUSED MY FILL TODAY, STATING THEY NEEDED "MORE INFO" FROM THE THREATENED PA WHO'D LEFT FOR THE DAY, AFTER I WAS WAITING 5 HOURS!!! Then calls finally at 6 PM; I can pick it up. WHAT A NIGHTMARE, more anxiety and wasted gas!!!!!! THEN SAYS: "THIS IS A MONTH'S SUPPLY" INSULT AFTER INSULT! I am getting my script reinstated elsewhere, and you can "play doctor" on someone else. I've never encountered the LIES, SABOTAGE, AND OBVIOUS MASS CONSPIRACY TO DEPRIVE you of your meds you've RESPONSIBLY TAKEN FOR DECADES THAT ARE NECESSARY TO DO YOUR BUSINESS, EAT, SLEEP, AND FUNCTION. THEY SUDDENLY DISRESPECT AND TREAT YOU LIKE A DRUG-CRAZED MANIAC. THEY FEEL THEY MUST SUDDENLY EXERT CONTROL AND SUPERVISION OVER YOU AND YOUR MD, WHO HAS YOUR MRI's, LAB TESTS, AND SEES YOU MONTHLY! I'LL USE A LESS EFFECTIVE BRAND AND A MORE EFFECTIVE PHARMACY! PSYCHO PHARMACISTS AT CYPRESS AND HB LIKELY BLACKLISTED ME FROM EVERY OTHER STORE WITH THEIR MENTIONED "NOTES!" I've been a loyal Rite Aid customer for over 20 years. They just closed my local store due to going completely bankrupt. I went to CVS and Walgreens in search of a new pharmacy and was majorly disappointed. I never even thought of Costco for my medication needs, even though I'm a member and love the HB location. Well, now I'm a huge fan of their pharmacy. Top notch pharmacists (Theresa for one), fantastic service, incredible knowledge about my particular script and beyond professional service. They treat me with dignity and compassion and are the absolute best. Quite honestly, they are even better than my previous pharmacy even though I'd been going there for so long and they knew me well. As much as I love Costco, I hate their pharmacy even more. They allow one to transfer IN prescriptions, but make you jump through loops to transfer prescriptions OUT. Furthermore, they don't offer deliveries except through Instacart - which for a retiree is usually a hassle. The cherry on top is that you go there to pick up some meds, and the next day, or later that SAME DAY you get a text to go pick up another med. And they're closed on Sundays of course. They suck! Avoid the Costco Pharmacy! (not the rest of the store!) read more
