Unfortunately, the terrible reviews are true. While the CVS itself has a great supply of things you might need, everything from deodorant to leggings, the pharmacy is a disaster. They don't hire enough staff to help them, so they can never meet the demand. There is always a long line down the aisles of sick people coughing and looking miserable. The people who work here are very kind,l - they just cannot keep up because there are enough of them, and they are overworked. If you designate this CVS as your pharmacy of choice, make sure to bring a mask and magazines to prepare for the long wait. read more

I usually have no issues with CVS, but that changed quite fast when I was highly offended by one of your pharmacists. I went to pick up my prescription and while the pharmacist looks at the screen after I gave her my name she proceeds to say "that's an interesting name" with this exact look on her face: . I think comments like that are not very appropriate when all I wanted was my prescription. My mother was also offended considering she named me. Please have less judgemental employees. You have to love CVS in Hanover and I will tell why I feel that way! What store allows you to buy paper towel, a little foldable stool for your kitchen to reach the top cabinets, a swifter kit, a square non stick cake pan and your favorite summer rose wine??!! ( Kin Crawford Rose from Provence France, but they also have whispering angel and others if you prefer a sweet note!). I have had opportunity to call CVS stores in other areas to reach the pharmacy, with virtually no waiting. For this pharmacy, it is truly unclear what the wait is. I give up after an hour. The failure to pick up is so singular to this location that I called the front store and got a manager. I asked him if there was a problem with the pharmacy phone. HIs answer was, "No, it could take an hour. They are very busy." This may be true, but when I am there, they seem no busier than other CVS stores that look much busier. In fact, they do not look nearly as busy as other stores I have gone to with far less waiting when I have to call. Let's just say this in an area where they need improvement. read more

How does the only pharmacy in a college town remain hostile and unfriendly? BECAUSE it is the ONLY pharmacy in a college town. The great news: CVS's front end staff is reliably helpful, cheerful, efficient, and friendly. The bad news: The pharmacy staff is reliably as unpredictable as a rabid possum. Some staff are pleasant and helpful but many are not. Specifically, Kristin, the pharmacist, would do well to learn about all things customer service. Specifically, listening to her customers, speaking to her customers instead of patronizing her customers, making her customers feel welcome instead of making them feel like an irritant or bother. Pharmacists are vital members of any community but have an extra obligation in college towns. The Hanover CVS has had several past fine pharmacists and may now. Kristin is not one of them. I'll be honest. It was the worst customer service in my whole life. And by telling that I mean that it was the worst customer service in general. Highly disappointed. Your supervisor was really rude and she was following me like I was planning to still something. Couldn't even focus what I really need and where I can find it. And when I have misunderstanding with one deal, because tags were moved and didn't belong to the right items, she was happy to show me that I'm wrong and she is right. Come on, that's not my fault that someone mess up with tags!!! read more

This is a very busy pharmacy. Lots of different people come in with complex issues and incomplete information, missing insurance cards, etc. For the most part, the pharmacists and pharmacy techs do a great job. Every once in a while, something is less than perfect. But overall, this place has filled numerous prescriptions over the years perfectly and almost always with professionalism, courtesy and speed. read more

This is the worst CVS I've ever been to. Disorganized, half of what I need is always out of stock, employees don't know anything, ridiculously high prices, checkout is confused and inefficient. The pharmacy is absolutely terrible - incompetent, and unsafe in my personal experience and opinion. For example I had to pick up a family member's prescription, and discovered that the pharmacy had switched the prescription (a venerable cheap immediate-release generic) to a much more expensive drug that is dangerously ineffective and should never be used for this situation (a time-released specialty drug which cost about $50). They did this without informing either the prescriber or the patient. In my opinion, this is a horrifying and disgusting example of profiteering at the expense of patient safety. For customers, it is extremely important to carefully read the CVS label, compare it to your doctor's prescription. And most importantly, before taking a single dose, remove a pill from the bottle, and look it up online or in a reference manual (there will usually be a code stamped on the pill), to make sure it's the correct drug. Another piece of advice if you're doomed to use this godforsaken pharmacy. It takes them FOREVER to fill prescriptions, and there's always a maximum of confusion. Don't even try to do it in person. It's better to have your doctor's office submit it electronically. Then you can just keep calling the pharmacy over and over, until they tell you it's ready to pick up. Unfortunately this is the only drugstore/pharmacy in a town which is mainly car-less college students and relatively mobility-challenged elderly people. So they have a captive clientele and can pretty much do whatever they want. Also, many local employer-based insurance plans require people to use CVS, and do not cover prescriptions from other pharmacies. For people who are able to drive to another town, I'd say any of the West Lebanon alternatives are better than this, particularly for OTC drugstore items. West Leb has Walgreens, another CVS, Walmart, and I think even Hannaford has a pharmacy. read more

I put in a request to transfer a medication from one pharmacy to another last night, this morning I was told my prescription would be ready at 12, however this was not the case, however I gave a large window of time before calling because I'm used to CVS NEVER being on time anyways, so I called around two pm and all the pharmacist would tell me is that there's a 24 hour period of time, although asking her to put it on her priority list because my life depends on it, she told me that I could call somewhere else and try if I wanted but that essentially she would get to it she she did. Minute Clinic in the CVS Lebanon, NH: Very, very bad. Wrong diagnosis, wrong treatment (which did not work) for a $100.00 prescription cream not covered by insurance. Conflict of interest? Check. Poor care? Check. CVS customer service had absolutely NO interest in hearing a complaint many months later after going to a real doctor. In fact, the person I spoke with said they had no way of knowing that the condition that was successfully treated by DHC was there when I visited Minute Clinic. Wow. Shocking. I will never spend another dime at CVS. read more

I would give this pharmacy negative stars if I could. My experience has been one of an unhelpful, incompetent pharmacist. A prescribed med was back ordered, which happens, but he then insisted I contact the urgent care and ask them to call him with a different medication. They sent over a new prescription which he said he never got. Upon checking with the urgent care, AGAIN, they checked and had indeed e-prescribed the med. When I returned to pick up the med, AGAIN, he told me that the provider "never called" him. I told him they had eprescribed the med and he told me they don't have the ability to eprescribe! I am ready to scream and had I not wasted so much time already - I would have just gone somewhere else. I will never go to CVS in West Lebanon again! read more

Awful, awful experience. Spent AN HOUR waiting to talk to someone to be rudely talked to, sent to the other line, just to be met by the same rude woman who was at the drop off section. Just wanted to get a prescription taken care of that I am in the system for, and was told that I would have to deal with it myself. Again, waited AN HOUR to get told off by employees.
