I needed to refill my dog's prescription. My vet mentioned CVS could fill it so I asked them, in person, and they confirmed they would fill this prescription specifically. CVS is 2 minutes from my house and the vet is 30, so sure. But they had to special order it. It took a week. When it came in they texted me I could come pick it up. So far, so good. I get there and the pharmacist is standing there with the bottle in his hands and proceeds to tell me they can't "dispense" the meds because it is a non human, pet only drug. They won't sell it to me. Really? You couldn't tell me that a week ago when I asked? They're literally messing with the health of my dog. Never going back. read more

The lady pharmacist (black lady clarifying her not only by race just because the other pharmacist lady is not black and I don't know her name) is so rude. I went in because I got my monthly prescription of levothyroxine (for hypothyroidism not a controlled substance) and the count was short. I was 4 pills short. She gave me a picture of a thirty count of pills and stated that was your pills. She was admit that I lost the pills in between driving home and putting them in my monthly med counter. She was very quick to anger, very quick to stating she was the manger, very quick to stating call corporate when asked what I should do when she would not fill the 4 pills that were short. I was very calm and just trying to figure out a solution and she was just very mean and acting like a was drug seeker and a liar?? When this drug literally just controls hormone levels? I've experienced this issue at Walgreens before and they fixed the missing count right away no issue. Will definitely be switching pharmacies. Just posted this as a warning. The manager, some young guy, proved he could not have cared about me any less. I was in need of a medication that I needed or I could have been in serious trouble. I told him this several times and waited 2 hours but he never even stopped to look at me. He kept doing other things while I was having a full on panic attack with my 2 year old. This is one of the closest CVS near home, so I usually get my prescription and small pharmacy items at this location. My overall experience at this location is fairy average. I've had visited better and cleaner CVS locations than this location before. However, it's pretty conveniently located in the corner of Aversboro Road and Timber Drive. The inside feels slightly unorganized, but you can pretty much find everything you need here. I actually LOVE their self checkout stations because sometimes I don't want to interact with anyone when I'm buying something at CVS. Pharmacy section can be slow at times, but I usually have a good experience with the staff there. This location is much more convenient than the ones inside Target (there are 2 off on Timber Drive), so this will continue to be my go-to CVS :) read more

I went in to have my blood pressure checked as it's been high, and also to see if I could get put on medication for it. Rebecca and Tuwana took a lot of time with me asking me questions and listening to my concerns. I was given a prescription and Tuwana also gave me advice about getting another type of medicine and how I could save money doing it. She gave me detailed information about the medication prescribed and answered my What If questions about side effects I might encounter, when to take it, and what if my blood pressure got too low, then what should I do? These two kind and caring women seemed more concerned about my health than any doctor I can recall seeing and spent way more time advising me and listening to me too. The pharmacy staff at this location is highly unreliable. I needed to take my medication at exactly 9 AM, and while the store was open at that time, the pharmacy itself didn't open until an hour later. The reason? The pharmacist was "running late." Being an entire hour late not only delayed my medication but also made me late for work. This isn't the first time I've had issues here this location consistently lacks adequate staff and fails to provide a positive experience. Just as the rest of us are expected to be on time for our jobs, the pharmacist should be held to the same standard. read more

Went in to get the take home covid tests, as my daughter tested positive so we need to test the rest of the family. Insurance is supposed to cover buying the tests. However they said it would take them a day or two to process the insurance claim, even though they had full shelves of the tests. So I went across the street to Walgreens who processed my insurance and gave me the tests in 10 minutes. Way to help fight a pandemic, where timely testing is crucial, CVS! read more

Poor customer service. The pharmacy will not pick up the phone when you call them. The person who is taking the store manager calls hang up on you to not deal with the problems. Never, ever see such incompetence. My doctor ordered a script for me on 10/3/2021 and it was not filled until 10/6/2021. I was never notified that it was sitting there. I did not need the script at that time, so I was unaware that it was sitting there filled. I started getting low on the medication when I checked the app to see what I needed to have filled. It stated that my script had been filled and sitting there. So unprofessional. How is this place even in business. They deserve no stars. It is that bad. read more

Very unhelpful staff. Even though the Covid emergency ended on May 11, 2023. Medicare will still pay for COVID-19 test when ordered by a doctor. Following this instruction, my doctor order two home test kits for me. Even though I can see the prescription in my chart at WakeMed, this CVS pharmacy refused to provide the tests because "it is not in our system." I have no idea what that means. I am going to contact Medicare on this matter. read more

This review is for the Minute Clinic located inside the CVS. I have never been to a Minute Clinic before so I automatically assumed that it was located in the pharmacy, it was not until I started asking a few questions about my insurance that the Pharmacist mentioned I should check with the Minute Clinic which is located near the front of the store. I walked up, signed in at the kiosk and was brought into the room to get my flu shot. This service was quick and convenient, I would recommend if you need to get your flu shot (they offer tons of other services and keep adding more every year). Plus, you get a 20% off coupon to use in the store. My only complaint would be that it took a while to sign in at the kiosk. read more

Boy did I get lucky! I thought I might be getting pink eye so I went on my lunch after holding my place online. By the time I got there and put my name and some info in a computer I was called. (Remember to bring your number they give you when you check in online.) Lori (NP) was extremely thorough and efficient. She asked great questions and answered all I had. I was able to get eye drops right away at the pharmacy so it saved me a trip going to my usual pharmacy. I received a print out of my visit with instructions and a note for my school (I'm a teacher). It only cost me $10 for the appointment with my onsurance. The only problem I have is that I tried to call with a clarifying question and I could not get her even though she gave me a number to call. I guess that's what you get when there's no secretary. It was not important but if you think you might need a follow up it might not be the place you go. Well, my bill came and it did not show a $10 copayment I made. I called once and was on hold for 20 minutes and then told they were closed after saying on the recording that they were open from 10-6:30. Then I called at 10:15 on Wednesday and had an awful time with voice activation. After talking to one person he says, "oh you need billing." 35 minutes on hold to a very nice woman only to find out that copayment written down was $10 less than what my insurance charges so the $10 was already deducted with no mention on the bill. The savings of time and convenience is lessened by their horrific handling of telephone inquiries. read more

The pharmacy is a total joke. I have had nothing but trouble with this pharmacy they are not able to get my prescriptions right for some reason. So I went in and picked up a prescription and got home and they had filled a prescription that was over a year old . Never opened the bag that was stapled and was pretty much told that it was my fault that I didn't check before leaving. Was told by the pharmacist that it was my problem and he could not refund my money. It really is bad if you can't trust your pharmacist to get his job right. Me and my sister we're doing the self check out & we got confused, we where waiting for assistance and Since my sister was in the way, the lady said "can you move out the way" in the nastiest way ever, she didn't say please or nothing. MinuteClinic Absolutely horrible experience with these inept "health care providers". First they can't figure out how to run my insurance card, so I conveniently have to pay the full amount out of pocket and do their job for them by filing with my insurance company later. Then their lab falls so behind on cases that I am forced to expose my family, some of which are immune sensitive, to obvious strep without medication. RUN don't walk away from this pharmacy! If I could leave zero stars I would. The entire pharmacy staff is the most unprofessional, incompetent & uncaring group of individuals I have ever dealt with. After running into issue after issue with them, I recently switched my prescriptions over to another location & the difference in level of customer service is remarkable. If you prefer to stay in Garner, there is a Walgreens across the street from this location as well as a CVS inside Target on Timber Drive. The place is a joke but the Most irritating habit they have is clock watching. More than once I've come in to pick up , not fill, a RX and they were all standing around watching the clock and said to me "We close in 20 minutes" inferring that they couldn't help me and I replied back "doesn't that mean that you're OPEN for another 20 minutes?" They tried the same crap with my husband too so I know it wasn't me. Do now that I have new insurance I can go back to Walgreens TG. Oh, this is important info here, the efficacy of their generic medications is very low! Due to availability I went to a Rite Aid for my Adderall RX and the difference of the efficacy was Very noticeable. Came into this cvs on a sunday, there were only two pharmacy techs working in the pharmacy and one cashier and one manager. The manager had to run between the front and the pharmacy every few minutes. Then one out of 3 pharmacy computers crashed and another one began to act up. Not sure who the GM is of this cvs but the planning of employee time off seems to be lacking as all of the 4 employees seemed to be worn out and the manager seemed to not be able to get two things done before being called to the front of the store by the one cashier. People are always nice and always very helpfull. I really like this cvs but they need to rethink how they treat there employees with being short staffed on a sunday which to me seems to be the busiest day for pharmacy pick up. read more

I come to this cvs rarely, but on this visit i came in to pick up a prescription.i walked in and there was a women standing at the counter as if she didn't want to be there, and i was wasting her time (no hello by the way). Unfortunately i came in when they were preparing to close(which i didn't know at the time). As i walked through the store i felt as though i wasn't supposed to be here, from the dirty looks. As i arrived at the back i noticed the pharmacy counter was closed and headed back towards the front of the store and grabbed some chips. I approached the counter and she was gone. I stood in the front for a good 5 minutes and she returned to announce that the store was closed! Huh? Wait what!?!? They are slow in getting to their customers, but the people are nice when they finally get to you. But you're so aggravated by that point. I suggest get 2 people to checkout at the pharmacy during high traffic hours, especially when Walgreen's is across the street. Good job CVS! I had had a bad experience trying to get passport pictures at "another area pharmacy" chain photo center and the experience was less than desirable for me and my six year old child. When I came to CVS to get the passport photos I was rewarded with exemplary customer service from the beginning. They were wonderful!!! I wish I had started with them in the beginning. They are convenient because I drive down Timber Drive on my way to White Oak. But I expected better service at the pharmacy. They did not offer to call the doctor to get the 90-day prescription. My Walgreens pharmacist always makes the call for me, which is what real convenience is all about. In the end, CVS is not at all convenient for me. read more
