I made an appointment get my COVID booster shot. The appointment was made easy online. All I have to do is to show up at the scheduled time. I thought the process was going to be crazy since the store is always crowded. I started by getting inline to the window to let them know I am there. Then I found a chair, sat down, and waited for my turn. Luckily, the wait was short. I'd say I only waited about 5 minutes or so. Soon, the nurse came out with my shot. She verified my information, rolled up my sleeves, gave me my shot, and filled out my covid card. The entire process took about only 3 minutes. Overall, the entire experience was pleasant. They are well-organized in taking care of the covid shots. I guess after all the time, they become pretty used to the process. If I need to get the 4th shot while in NY, this would be the place for me. read more

I'm switching pharmacies soon. It's usually impossible to reach the pharmacy on the phone. They're not helpful when you're at the store in person. I've had to call the 1-800-SHOPCVS number quite a few times in order to get anything done with my prescriptions and even they weren't able to reach them many times, even telling me i should switch pharmacies. They constantly lie about trying to contact doctors. They're out of stock of pills often and don't notify you. I've asked them to call another pharmacy to see if something was in stock and they refused, even though i was trying to reach them for hours and really couldn't bare being on the phone anymore. I have other things to do than try to reach CVS for hours a day. As for the rest of the store, they have everything either locked up where you have to wait for someone to help you, with even miniscule cheap items, or else they're out of stock. They still have a mouse/rat problem so i suggest not getting food items if they're sitting on shelves. I've seen bags and boxes bitten through. Try to avoid this place is possible. read more

Came in to do some light shopping with my own bag, which I've been doing for years. Rude staff member yelled at me to use a basket like I'm some kind of criminal. If she had asked nicely, I would've been happy to do it. Instead, I left to take my business to Lidl and Walgreens, where they are nice to customers, and will never come back here. Took my original picture here and the picture was rejected by the government (frustrating) so unfortunately so had to return for a second time for the photo department to try again. Maychelle helped me out this time and her customer service was above and beyond. Seems like at this location it's hard yo get a smile out of their employees, but Maychelle's smile and service seemed so natural. I would definitely recommend her for your passport picture needs. CVS is known for those long receipts with coupons but the machines were broken for quite awhile. It works now and you can scan your items. I came here to look for Hershey's Cookie Bites Cookies and Cream but they don't carry it here. The employee said "it's whatever we have there." The selection is not great as you can see from the photos and it's Halloween coming up! You'd expect there to be a wide selection of candy. Sometimes the items on sale are gone by the next day. The shelves are not restocked with the items until the following week when it is no longer on sale. They also they do not sell the QTips brand cotton swabs, only the CVS brand. There are some items that you can't buy generic or else you'll lose the quality. read more

I read the comment about the pharmacy staffs and o have to agree with the customer. I went there 2 days ago looking for possibly medical glue or butterfly bandage. I asked one of the staff and I couldn't get an answer, so I walked to the front and asked the front. However, nobody can tell me anything. All I could do is look for the product myself. If I didn't see it, it meant they didn't carry it. At the meantime, nobody were trying to help even though there were people in the pharmacy department, they couldn't care less. I believe customer service is not a thing since the staff are not the one that needed help. read more

Honestly this CVS pharmacy has never been good. Been here countless times and I'm never impressed by the pharmacy staff or the stores selection of barely stocked items (especially in the fridge section) Maybe the staff are overworked and underpaid so I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt but they can learn to be friendly or at the very least approachable. Most of them look worn out, burned out, and miserable just to be there. I truly hope their managers aren't cruel to them because I do see them work although they can be better. Usually work ethic lowers due to being overworked, underpaid and dealing with bad management and cruel higher up leadership. Maybe more staff would be helpful. Unfortunately the cvs i always preferred was on 42nd and it is closing so this cvs on 188 is going to get more of a work load. It was nice being with cvs for so many years but I'm not going to be forced to go to 188. The one on 42nd was slightly better and slightly more friendly at least. Re-trained your pharmacy staffs member. The young pharmacist, her name start with an S that I dealt with has absolutely no passion nor knowledge in the pharmacy world! She was raging and mentioned in these exact words, "I'm not comfortable and I don't care if he had surgery or not. It is my license on the line." This show how incompetent she is and not able to contact the doctor the liquid form she has available and her intern had to step in and suggested a medication I wouldn't feel comfortable of giving either. She could have say the med was prescribed, but not suggested because it was "contraindicated." To make it worse it was pouring hard today too! read more

I have been going to this CVS for decades. When I stopped in a couple of days ago, one of the managers told the loss and prevention person named Robert (has a mohawk) to attend to a customer. Robert then asked what kind of complexion the customer had as an identifier. It doesn't seem that it would have affected Robert in helping the customer but there are many other ways for him to make sure he's helping the right customer and it still feels like othering. This pharmacy is trash. Picked up amoxicillin for my baby. Take it out the bag at night and they never mixed it! Never gave me a syringe for me to mix it myself ! Never gave me a dosing syringe! No information at all- 8pm and I'm sitting with 2 bottles of powder. Needed to mix it with 51mls of water- thank god baby bottles show the ml's... or she wouldn't have had milk! They don't answer phone calls, so you end up going there and they don't have your stuff ready. Also, the line moves very slow and is often quite long. The store itself is rather well kept, large selection of stuff at decent prices with gave it a star. read more

Ok, so I never buy anything in a retail store full price especially ice cream. With all my CVS visits this week I knew SkinnyCow and Nestle Dumbdums were on sale for $3.99. Do on our at home from the epicurean delight of Arby's, it was ice cream time. The selection of ice cream was slim pickings because the sale started Sunday, but it was enough of a selection for tonight. Check out was easy as the back of the store has self service and there was no line. One box of Dumbdums and a box of Skinnycow ice cream sandwiches and we are on our way home. My surprise happened when I opened the box of Dumbdums. Either I got a lot bigger or these things got a lot smaller or both. So 4 stars for CVS and 3 for the small ice creams. The staff here will flat out ignore you and will be incredibly rude to you. One a**hole running the register at the pharmacy was rolling her eyes, interrupting customers, and being rude to people because she couldn't understand a customer's accent. Absolutely disgusting. The customer was asking her about payment and the girl interrupted her abruptly and said "I know what I'm doing!" Not to mention I get a call at 5:00 saying that my prescriptions will be ready in 30min. And I get here and they tell me to wait five minutes. Five minutes is definitely not a big deal at all but I ended up waiting for over 30 min while the children running the counter were laughing and f***ing around. It's now almost 7pm..... an hour and a half after my prescriptions were supposed to be ready and I'm trying to be nice and wait but these people make it impossible. read more

Do not try to buy cards from the photo department here! I got burned twice! I tried to order cards for special occasions and I spent hours creating them. It's been 7 months and they still haven't completed my order! I got these bogus calls months after saying my order was ready just to be told that it wasn't and they don't know why I got the call. Apparently I wasn't the only one that got the call for that day and they told the other person that they also didn't have their order ready. When I talk to them they give careless answers. The pharmacy 3 times out of 5 do not have the medication I need in time. It's placed on backorder for at least a week, and they mention being out of stock. It's probably a problem with how it is managed, because you can see the area where they keep everyone's medication for pick up is poorly organized and very messy. I called them for my medication, which according to their automatic phone service, would be ready by this evening. I called in the afternoon, where the pharmacist told me it would be ready within an hour. Five hours passed, and my medication was still gone. I called again, and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. Two more hours passed. I called them one last time, and was told it will be ready in an hour or two. Jury's still out on that. If you live near the area and have to pick up medication that you don't need that urgently, then go ahead. This is the closest pharmacy, within walking distance, to my home. But if you have a prescribed medication that you absolutely need that impacts your daily functioning, like ADD medication, pick up your medication elsewhere. There's a Rite Aid nearby, it might be a bit farther away but anything is better than having to deal with this pharmacy. Even the CVS in Francis Lewis Blvd is better, and I wish I had my medication picked up there instead, despite the fact that it would be a 40 minute walk from my home versus the 10 minute walk this CVS is. read more
