This pharmacy is frequently out of stock on many medications. You can request delivery online but do not count on it. Twice they charged the delivery driver's tip to my card but did not even send the prescription out for delivery. And trying to reach the pharmacy by phone means over one hour on hold and still nobody picks up. read more

I have had it with this establishment after 10 years. The front door has been broken forever, no repairs. The escalator to the pharmacy is broken currently and regularly. Been a customer here for years for the service for the pharmacy has gotten so bad. ICalled 4 times to be hung on, put on hold for 45 min and then on speaker where i heard every trasaction at the register for 40 minutes while no one spoke to me on the phone. guess They really protect people's private information.... just hear a bunch of the people's birthdays and last 4 phone numbers. Anyway, i called because i ordered prescriptions for refill and I had changed my insurance during this year. I submitted my new insurance in the app before ordering my meds but yet i keep getting the kickback that they cannot find my insurance. Finally at 4ish I get this rude dismissive hard of hearing lady who picks up, didn't hear my birthday correctly and then says insurance no work. It expired. But the expiration date she gave me was my old insurance. I was trying to read off my rx bin number for my new insurance when she hung up and said sorry can't help you, too many customers and you have to come in person to resolve with the physical card.....what's the point of the app if the idiots at the pharmacy can't see what you submit... read more

1. Wait time to pick up online orders is too long, even if the packages are right behind the counter, do you really need 10+ min to find it? Happened to me three times in a row. 2. Horrible manager and management, both in-store and online. My store credit (a physical card) was declined in store, and I was told to call customer service. Then I was on the phone for nearly 2 hours, being transferred countless times, and was told to "go back in store, get a new card, and have the balance transferred over". I went back, explained everything to the manager, but he quickly denied the solution and walked away with an obvious attitude of I-couldn't-care-less. I then realized their only job was to fool customers back and forth between store and online, so I decided to write an email to higher level management, hoping problem would be solved smoothly. I like the convenience of DR being open 24-7. It's perfect for those early or late night runs. The prices are moderate for the location. This store seems to be well stocked. Employees are not rude but don't expect them to go out of their way to speak and smile. Although, I must admit that the cashier that rang me up did speak. Finally a mega drugstore plus more with a minimal food market newly opened in summer 2011 serving Flushing, Queens to operate 24/7. It sits directly on the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and Main Street on the #7 train station. Fully stocked that is never short on life's basic amenities for the daily deal. I was finally able to obtain breathe mints (NOT chewing gum) without the hunt down or run around from aisle to aisle like a typical retail space layout. The layout is nicely configured and easily understandable with the use of common sense. A self-service coffee, pastries, and fruits by the foyer's entrance to welcome customers is a warm invitation. The pharmacy within is also operate 24/7 as I am able without agita to obtain medical assistance for this gargantuan Duane Reade store #14438. Retail space is clean and there is no shortage of snacks, preserve or package foods. This space was the former home to Old Navy, thus out with the old and in with the new Duane Reade for Duane Reade's new home from the move across the street. Four stars as the drawback is the usual long bread lines at the register with only two cashiers to man the fort. read more

Don't do it to yourself. This place is messy, dilapidated, and just uncleanly on so many levels. The staff is beyond useless. I happened to be on the 2nd floor and decided to check out at the register. Yes, 1 item. Just a bottle of water. Guess what! The cashier at the pharmacy refused to ring me up. Really, GURRL!!?? I understand the pharmacist makes 75K (not the regular cashier), but the pharmacist. She tells me the register can't ring up any items. Really? Is that so! How do people pay for prescription meds then? She is an UTTER JOKE and a LIAR! She has a useless bachelors degree, when she should have gotten a BA from Baruch College in COMMON SENSE!! Pharmacist ring up customers all the time at multiple Duane Reade locations. I've had them ring me up. However, this one was lazy and lied that the register doesn't work, and can only ring up medication! She clearly wants to see Duane Reade close down because she's too lazy to do any work. When this Duane Reade location finally shuts down and she is unemployed and can't pay her rent...she'll finally learn her lesson & that's what she gets for being LAZY! The store manager at Duane Reade/Walgreens in Flushing at Roosevelt Avenue is the most disrespectful person I have ever encountered in this neighborhood. His name is Tom, tall, skinny, white hair and wears glasses. He follows people around the store and profiles young teenagers staring at them especially if their African Americans. He screams at senior citizens for no reason. I was a victim of his behavior and disrespectful manners. He told me once to get out of his store during winter when I went to pick up medications. He has anger issues. He ordered an Asian senior citizen to leave his store because he had assaulted a cashier which did not happen. Where's the corporate CEO when this happens? Worst customer service ever. Went to pharmacy section, the staff was standing behind the counter doing absolutely nothing. Went up to ask do they provide flu shots, a simple "yes" or "no" answer and a probable follow up of where to get it and how to make appointment. Instead the staff replied with another question "what do you think? Do you think a pharmacy provides flu shots?" Well of course pharmacies provides flu shots that's why I went up to ask, but do all pharmacies provide flu shots, no. And I went in kind of late, who knows if their flu shot section is still opened. Recently used this location for pharmacy pick up and while waiting for their break to finished sat down on an empty chair not in use. But, I guess it's not for sitting coz of the signs. Anyway I know I'm a senior citizen retired and I get tired easily so, I sit down. From nowhere this guy came to me and said I cannot use the chairs. I was treated rudely and scolded like a kid that did something. Surely I answered back and ask who he is. He proclaimed himself I'm the store manager. Cut story short argument ensued my nice day ruined my hypertension went up I almost called 911..Anyway my mistake or not I'm a paying customer and entitled for some respect. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. Pros: open 24/7 and good variety of products. Cons: always out of stock of whatever it is I need, inconvenient layout of the cashier area and attitude of some cashiers. What bothers me the most is that they are ALWAYS out of something I needed or went there for in the first place. Prime example was yesterday's shopping experience. I needed regular aspirin and couldn't find any. This wasn't a fluke where they happened to be out of it that day. On another day i wasted time looking for it because even though I was in the right section there wasn't any. Sure they had tylenol, advil, etc. And every other iteration of aspirin except for plain ole generic or bayer. The other thing I needed to get was an apple gift card. I usually buy it here and it's the one thing I "thought" i could count on to be in stock but Lo and behold the whole section for Apple gift cards was completely empty. Overflowing with other ones though. Never had I felt so defeated and disappointed in a store. I ended up buying Pepsi (cause they were out of coke) and whatever food was in stock to get something out of my trip. Fortunately I had a nice cashier who was willing to bag my groceries with my reusable bag. There are other cashiers who refuse to do it. I don't have a problem bagging my own but the problem is there's no room on the counter and a plastic window in the way. You're totally screwed if you're buying a lot of stuff. It's a circus with the cashier handing me my stuff around this divider for me to bag while I'm also busy unpacking and handing them stuff to be rung up all while trying to keep track of whats ready to be bagged or not. So much easier on everyone if they just bag it as it's rung up especially with such tiny counter space. That's what they used to do until they boycotted plastic bags (which is mostly a good thing) but now it's more work for me and non-existent customer service. This is the new location of Duane Reade at Roosevelt Ave. and Main St. in Flushing. Their old location is closed, and this new store is about three times bigger. It's the hugest Duane Reade I've ever seen. It occupies the space where Old Navy used to be, and it is also open 24 hours just like their old location across the street. I was here at around 9:30 or 10pm, and unfortunately, they still only had two registers opened to process a long line of people, even though there were, I think, five registers available. read more

while making my way back to manhattan after dropping off a friend in flushing i notice a 24/7 duane reade/walgreens in the area and ran in to get some paper towels and snacks and i aint in a rush so maybe i can scan look at the trashy mags while sitting at the closed pharmacy section .overall the store is well stocked with the typical stuff and for 1045 pm the place is crowded with customers . the folks who work here seem ok and the lady who rang up my junk food snacks gave me a hello and have a nice evening with ease. overall a decent 24/7 duane reade/walgreens that serves a purpose for the flushing locals and non locals like me. read more

New! Clean! Shiny! My Duane Reade how you've grown. I remember your store across the street from this one. Let's just say, it wasn't pleasant. But now your uniforms look great, the employees are sweet, and you always have what I need. I come to this Duane Reade almost every day. This is my one stop shop for everything my apartment needs. Hungry Man dinner at 1am? Pet food? Milk? Eggs? Makeup? They've got it all. And they're 24 hours INCLUDING the pharmacy which I think is just fabulous. What more can I say. They rock. Albeit expensive, it is conveniently located at the hub of Flushing, new and shiny, and opened 24 hours. It had a really nice photo center too that got closed down recently (I guess not many people were using it). Inside, there's a Blockbuster Rental machine by the cash register. And though the cash register is long and accommodating, there's usually only 2 cashiers there. One issue I had with this place this that they never pick up the phone. Don't bother calling, customer service don't really exist. But you can totally just walk in and buy stuff via the automated human-like cashier. =) read more

If I could leave a 0/5 stars review I would. Last Sunday, I came in for a quick purchase and witnessed the staff be disturbingly unprofessional, disgusting, aggressive, and simply lacking human decency by the way that they treated an elderly Chinese woman. Upon coming in that night, I saw the elderly woman quietly and patiently waiting by the register to be helped with can collection. From the moment I came into the store, browsed, and made my way to the register, a total of 15-20 mn went by, yet the woman was still waiting. There were 3 employees present and upon my completing my purchase 2/3 said employees were available and yet actively ignoring the elderly woman. I waited to see what would take place, when she would be helped; when a male employee left his register, passed by the elderly woman who signaled towards him for help, barely acknowledged her, shook his head and made his way to the second floor. I was confused but thought that there had to be a reason for this, maybe a specific employee was responsible for can collection? I walked around the store a little more and once I came back what happened was much worse. The third employee had begun "helping" the elderly Chinese woman. This woman employee, was middle-aged, with glasses and of Indian descent, she was barking at the lady while she was putting her cans in a clear bag for the store to count. Saying: "Pick it up!!! Pick it up right now!!! We don't take that one!!! I'm the only who helped you, don't make me mad!" The employee wanted her to take back a can that was dented in and the store didn't take (?). The elderly woman was obviously confused, evidently not speaking English yet the employee continued to mistreat her. Berating her and shouting at her in a manner that was aggressive and disgusting--as if she was doing her a favor??!!! This behavior is UNACCEPTABLE. Not only was it directed at a senior citizen but one that was in obvious need for help but could not understand what she was being berated for. Yet she took it, quietly waiting and giving in her cans because this is HER LIVELIHOOD and is probably used to his abuse. These employees must be held accountable, NOT ONLY the woman who behaved in such a disgusting manner, venting her anger on this Chinese woman, but those that actively ignored her and did not help her although they were free to do so. I know that the service industry is difficult, that these employees are beyond exhausted at the end of the day but nothing excuses abusing an elderly woman that came in for a service THAT YOU PROVIDE. Address this and reprimand and train your employees to be better. Respect all clients, young or old, or any descent and sex, and whether they speak your language or not. read more

I am soso glad they have finally expanded Duane Reade in Main St!!! This newly opened Duane Reade now has self-service coffee, pastries, and fruits by the entrance. They also have a lot more items than the previous Duane Reade. My only complaint is the long lines but it is just the same from the previous Duane Reade anyway so I am used to it already. One thing that has NOT change is the 24-hour store operation which is a huge A-PLUS! read more

First off, I would like to give a shout out to the cool staff that has seen me walk in many a nights anything but sober yet still been super helpful: you guys rock! Having a 24 hour location right next to the subway is awesome, and I definitely make use of it when I'm making my way home from the city and need some water or a snack before continuing the rest of my trek home. I did have to take off one star though, as I saw one of the wildest bugs I'd ever seen on top of one of the complete cookies I was looking forward to buying before heading on out. I have no idea what it was but it freaked me out! Like, they got some scifi level mutation stuff going on in the back or something I don't even know. I think this is officially my new favorite place. I have some unreasonable love for Duane Reades & CVS's alike. They're just so convenient and fun and great to kill time in. I stopped by this Duane Reade for the first time since it opened on my lunch break to pick up some allergy meds & eye drops. The location is across the street from the old place (where Old Navy used to be). OH my, its SO big & SO clean & organized! I LOVE IT. The aisles are easy to find, and the floors are clearly labeled. When you first walk in, to the left is section with fresh baked goods. I haven't tried yet but I definitely will. If you walk further in, the first floor is basically filled with goodies, candies, snacks & drinks. If you ride the escalator up to the second floor, its where the Pharmacy is (and other things Duane Reade usually has) I hope that the quality & cleanliness of the store remains the same ! (Cos you know, in Flushing some places are just so dirty & grimy :[ ) OH, the only thing inconvenient would be the no parking factor. If you're walking around Flushing, getting on the 7, or transferring off of one of the many buses in the area this is a prime location. If you're traveling by car I guess you can park in the municipal parking up the block. Otherwise it will be near impossible to stop by here. read more

Good that it's 24/7 and pretty organized. It's a pretty big Duane Reade and have quite a few different items and brands but as for food it can sometimes still be a bit lacking but it's alright. Decent service and attitude but that really depends on the day and the staffs. Some are nice some are just really impatient and rude. I feel like DR doesn't need a review. But I seriously don't know where I would be without this place. I go here all the time for so many random needs and the prices are always great. Protip: there snack selection is incredible. Specifically, their DR brand maple leaf cookies are honestly the best packaged cookies I've ever tasted. They taste like golden oreos only with higher quality ingredients and a delicious maple aroma; in an adorable maple shape.
