Yesterday I went to pick up my husbands medication (3x). The first time it was an insurance issue and it'll take time because they never seen the insurance card before (which is a lie because his mom came the night before.)then they said the doctor had to verify it and lastly the pharmacist on call told me the patient has to come in with a valid ID (never heard that before.) The day before that his mom went and they gave her the wrong meds. This is over a course of a week, so my husband finally went and explained he's been needing this medication for over a week and it helps him stay clean from opioids which he's addicted to. I don't know how much longer they're guna make me run before my husband can get what he needs. read more

Austin gave me great service when the place was full of customers and he recognized me sitting there w a hopeless face! He dashed over and helped me with a photo I was trying to develop, then darted off to take care of the customer before me and the one after me. I must add that all the other employees working there were also busy helping others. They had to do some rushing around, and yet they remained very courteous! I could see them trying to take care of a couple people at a time and doing so as if we each were the only ones who needed attention I've always had fine service at this CVS ever since I moved here in 2013. read more

Got my covid vaccine here, the entire process was very streamlined and efficient. I was in and out in 30min for both doses, and that included the 15 min wait after the vaccine. pharmacy staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole process was (nearly) painless! of course my arm hurt like hell the next day but that's another story ;) read more

This is a terrible pharmacy. I use this location because it is the only 24 hours location near me. Nobody ever picks up the phone (I wait for 30+ minutes on hold and then someone picks up the receiver to hang up on me, it has happened multiple times). Pharmacy lines are over 45 minutes long unless you show up past midnight. read more

The employees are friendly, just maybe a little bit confused. One time, I went to buy several items and had the 25% coupon. The cashier accidentally messed up the transaction and did not apply the coupon. I was not mad, it happens, but nobody seemed to care. The manager readjusted the transaction for me. Thanks for that ! I got my 25% off. The store is dirty, mainly the carpet. Must be an old store. Last time I went, the carpets were COVERED in stains, throughout the store. It was very off putting. When I first moved to Fremont, I chose this CVS as my pharmacy, since I had been using CVS Pharmacy for years. I started to notice that every time I go call and ask a question for the pharmacist, I am put on hold for 30 minutes to over an hour. I gave up. I tried going into the pharmacy in person, MULTIPLE times, and the line was always at least 6 people long. I could see medication bags literally spilling out of the shelves. They look overwhelmed and understaffed. None of the employees there were rude. I just end up taking my business to Walgreens near my home and transferring my RX there. They are so much faster and I always can get a hold of them in person or via phone.\ This is not this stores' fault but I HATE the long-ass receipts that are given at CVS...it seems wasteful and they expire too soon....CVS in itself is expensive/ I only go there to buy cosmetic or hair items that Walmart or Target do not carry. So employees are not bad, but the store is dirty and the Pharmacy is ridiculous; I feel bad for the elderly or sick kids waiting an hour to pick up a medication. CVS Fremont 4020 Fremont Hub California 94538 Time: 9.31 pm (July 13th 2023) Extremely poor service. Irresponsible very careless, unreliable Pharmacist. My doctors orders were sent @ around 4.56pm. A very important medicine, I am a asthma patient and it was pragnanzone tablets prescribed for me. When it was around 9pm and I still did not receive any notification from CVS I finally called them and the Pharmacist told me that they did not receive any thing from my doctor. After insisting for 10 minutes she the pharmacist said that she's going to ask the other pharmacist on duty if she has received anything. I was than on wait on the call she came back after a good few minutes and said yes we have received it and it's now going to take an hour for them to get it ready. I will never come back to this pharmacy. They made mistakes giving me the wrong dose of a controlled substance, they have lied to me about communicating with my doctor, refused to fill a prescription (even though they filled it twice before) and didn't give clear instructions on how to remedy the situation. The staff is horribly rude. I've had to jump through hoops with skeptical pharmacies for pain meds before, but nothing like this. Their incompetence & lack of ability to clearly communicate caused me several hours of intense post surgical pain. There is a 24 hr Walgreens in Fremont that has a much better staff & pharmacists who want to work with you as a patient instead of treating you like an inconvenience to them. Terrible Place I don't wanna even imagine of going to this place ever again. So slow that it takes almost 3 hour to bring out that one eyedrop. Like why? There was only 3 people and it takes 3 hour and I coudn't even receive it because I had to go to my meeting. So terrible. Worst pharmacy ever in my life. Some people will say that why don't you just ask? I did 4 times and in all four times the answer was wait for an hour. ??? like what is this place. They are open 24/7. That's the best part. Considerably good service. Photo service whether its passport size photo or any other prints, their service is really good if you are doing at store. I have some bad experience ordering it online and the store never received the print orders also. I prefer to do it at the store. Their Pharmacy department is good. They are friendly and really helpful. But with the volume of orders they are handling, they are terribly short-staffed. Wait time is high, and long queues are not unusual. Most of the time all the checkouts are really slow. Even had to wait for 10-15mins, just to get some over the counter medicine. Something they have to improve and haven't done for years. But the staffs there are friendly, even they are helpless as they don't have enough people to handle the customers. Shop accept Apple pay and CSV Pay. Overall OK place. read more

We wasted an appointment because the system did not update the store in time. And they clearly don't take or want walk-in appointments. The pharmacy manager was rude and condescending. She even made sure to let us know we were not welcomed by sending us a cancelation notification after we left the store! It was a slap in the face. Book your vaccines with some days upfront. But you should use this store as a last alternative. You don't want rude people sticking a needle in your arm. read more

Worst. Damn. Pharmacy. It doesn't matter if you order your prescription 2 days in advance- it still won't be ready. What makes matters worse is that they have terrible pharmacy techs and people working the counter. They never have an answer for why your prescription isn't ready. I once had a pharmacy tech from here tell me to cut my pills up to still make use of it, but then say it wasn't a good idea because it probably wouldn't be an accurate dosage. I've been here a few times and parking is plentiful (no matter what day and time it is). For some reason, this location always have a long line to checkout. Every time I come here, something always goes wrong at checkout (either coupon doesn't scan or the system runs my coupons incorrectly). It usually happens when I get the same cashier (I'm wondering if she's new). Since I can't use extrabucks to pay taxes, I'll ask her what my subtotal before tax is and she'll always give me the grand total. This happened at least 3 times already. So when this happens, the system will reduce the amount of my extrabucks. I didn't know that this had happened until I left the store. CVS needs to train their cashiers on what their coupon/extrabucks policy is! They also need to hire more people to cover the registers! read more

Pharmacy Department. Knowing and understanding that they're always busy so I get it, so I would try to come during non peak hours for example Wednesday night around 9pm but even so they're still busy at that time too, there's always about 10 people waiting in line. It's not the Pharmacy Technician's fault for taking so long to find patient's rx, it's the department's manager/lead that should be held responsible for the way their alphabetical system is laid out. Everything is in disarray. Came my turn about 25 minutes later (yes, I timed it), the poor girl was scrambling in every bin looking for my son's rx. She finally finds it and then I told her "ok, I know you're busy but my insurance has changed, can you please update it or tell me ways to update it and the cost should be less". Then she gave me this blank stare I can read her mind lol..she's probably thinking "are you serious but we're busy". So I get it that they're busy so I said, "you know what, it's fine, I'll try to come back another time or I'll call to get the insurance updated". She said very appreciatively "thanks, yea save your receipt in case the price is different." I just said thanks and left. Then I tried to call in to pharmacy 2 times both times I never got anyone. I tried and I'm tired of waiting for them. They need to fix their system and get more organized! It is a disaster. If they hire me to come in to fix their "system" (not just computer, they way they do things), they'll have an efficient and quick running system in no time and everything will be smooth. So I still can't reach anyone to update my insurance, sadly. I am thinking of going somewhere else. Update 3/23/19 Yes, I finally got my insurance updated and the staff are super nice but I had to make a scene for this to happen. I'm glad it worked out. We're all good now. read more

There was a STONE in my bag of their Gold Emblem Sea Salt and Pepper shelled pistachios. I am NOT kidding. Fortunately, I spit it out, after being unable to chew it. It looked nearly identical to the pistachios. Warning: It was on the bottom of the bag, I guess because it is heavier than pistachios. And what is so bad about this product is that the stone was completely covered in the ground black pepper, so that made it look just like a nut. I purchased this in a Miami Beach CVS. I went to the CVS website and followed their instructions to contact them. I even gave my receipt #, date of purchase, register #, and the product lot #, so they could at least investigate or recall this lot from their shelves. They claim they respond within five days. It has been ten days, and I have heard nothing. I still have the bag and the rock. I guess I should contact an attorney or some food regulatory agency? read more

I would have given CVS a negative star but that is not available. CVS has the worst pharmacy leadership and online applications. The pharmacists are great, but they are definitely short staffed all the time. I have to assume the reason is to save money, with leadership not caring about customer safety or experience. The phone system is not usable, CVS website is poorly designed and I do not think any of the background applications are properly developed or tested prior to release. Getting my prescriptions filled by auto refill or when the doctor sends a new one in, is consistently not processed properly. I feel sorry for the way too busy pharmacy staff, they have to stop working on filling orders to Immediately help customers get the drugs they need. We have been told lots of benefits for Joining CarePass Membership during our last visit to CVS store in Fremont Hub and we took that membership trusting the words of the representative. First month they offer a $10 for free to lure more customers and from next month you have to pay $5+tax as monthly fee and in return you will get $10 balance in CarePass account which can be used anywhere as per the store representative who made us sign for CarePass. She told us that I can get my medicines delivered at my house on instant basis and can use that 10bucks too for prescribed medicines. As I had selected that store for my prescribed medicine I thought it's okay to spend 5bucks monthly if I am getting my meds delivered at home without any hassle. But yesterday when I tried to use that facility I got completely disappointed. At first as I was unable to do it using app I had to contact customer care. After wasting a gud time in contacting customer care I got a reply that it's doubtful regarding delivery as my medicine is in liquid form. After discussion she got agreed and advised me regarding how to do it using app. When I tried to do it I saw the option for delivery is for next week. So, I was left with the options either to wait or to go to the store. I chose second option and went to the store where I got surprised again by knowing that I can't use CarePass balance over prescribed meds. I tried to describe them that I have been told so during registration but the reply was they can't help anything. So, in short the lesson I got is not to trust words of CVS representative anymore for any scheme and to read all T&C yourself without joining their programs but again I would like to ask is that possible everytime for a general public to go through all details before any enrolment. I think it's the duty or responsibility of the store representative to provide customer with genuine facts. I am writing this review not for saving a mere $5bucks but to save the public from wasting their time in such a waste program. read more

Eventually went to store and had to wait for them to fill RX after it had been called in several days before. Also, not to mention quite dirty - I picked up something and got a layer of black dust on my fingers. What? Also they have long lines at the registers. I signed up for a vaccine appointment online. There were appointments available early in the morning like 3 AM, 4 AM, and 5AM. I picked 3 AM and waited up until my appointment. When I got there they told me that the system was incorrect, and they only gave them out from 10am to 6pm. Fix the system then! CVS on Washington Street in San Diego is the worse pharm. Why? Filled an old Rx then called my doctor and I a liar when I told them this was not correct. The female head pharmacist went on to belittle me and my doctor. Make a mistake? Apologize. Don't blame the customer or the doctor and NEVER belittle a customer. She shouldn't even have a job. Apparently she's not running her pharm correctly. If you're using the drive thru for quick service... think again. you will be waiting there too. Maybe you will have the pleasure of being chewed out for shopping with cvs. I called the El Cajon store and Nicole was very helpful and customer service oriented. Perhaps promote her to senior Pharm position. I think she would do a much better job and she did represent her company well without belittling me or my doctor. read more

I have confirmed that this CVS deserves the 2 star average on Yelp. Came here after work yesterday to pick up eye solution, thinking it would be an in and out (or even an in, mosey around for as long as you can in a CVS, then out... NOPE. First, the pharmacist Ali had terrible "counter-side"-manners. Just typing away on another patient's stuff, even though he motioned for me to go up. Then, after putting in the order, he just states "It's $200." Uh... I believe the correct way to approach this financial question is asking the patient whether or not they have insurance. I handed him my insurance card and asked him how long the wait is because I have to get home for a meeting, and he's like "it's 30 minutes." I asked him how I would know when my prescription is ready and he tells me "we'll page you or we will text you," proceeds to ask for my phone number, so I go wait in the car. 30 minutes later, no texts, so I go back into the store and lo-and-behold, there's a line of 10 people waiting to pick up prescriptions. Now, I'm not completely blaming the CVS for having lots of customers after work hours, but dang, can you get more than 2 pharm techs in the front to help?? I wait in line for another 10 minutes (at this point, I've been at CVS for almost an hour) and I tell the nice Asian guy pharm tech that I'm really upset at the way this CVS handles this whole process because I never got a notification that my prescription is done. And he apologizes and asks me if I want to be set up in the system to get the text notification because YOU HAVE TO BE SET UP IN THE SYSTEM TO GET A TEXT. Well..... thanks for nothing, Ali. I literally could have been sitting in the parking lot for an hour just waiting for them to notify me because you told me I would get notified. I expressed my frustrations to the Asian guy pharm tech and told him that it was my first time and last time ever coming to this CVS. What a horrendous experience. So this one Yelp star is for the Asian guy pharm tech - I wish I went back to tell you that my anger/frustration was unfairly directed at you and thank you so much for being patient and listening to me rant.
