Alex was amazing! I have a full sleeve tattoo, so I'm always a little nervous about getting poked but he made the whole experience so easy and comfortable. I really appreciated his technique of actually feeling for the vein instead of just relying on sight. It was quick, smooth, and barely felt like anything. On top of that, my doctor had submitted my order under the wrong code, and Kevin was able to fix it on the spot. That honestly made my day because the out-of-pocket cost would not have been great. I checked in twice for my lab tests and no one called my name. I have been waiting here for 2 hours and 24 minutes, and when I asked for help, one of the nurses simply told me to check in again. This is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Patients should not have to repeatedly check in after waiting for hours without any communication. There was no explanation, no apology, and no effort to resolve the issue. I do not recommend this location. Management seriously needs to review their check-in system and staff responsiveness. Last Tuesday, the first time I went to Quest Diagnostics for a blood draw and it's the most terrifying and painful blood draw in my life. The phlebotomist was probably still in training, clumsily inserted the needle into my arm, causing me so much pain that I scream out but she quickly pulled out the needle from my arm and then inserted it back the second time. Without saying apology she muttering in her mouth "everything was normal as I did for other people"! I was very upset since she didn't offer any apology. read more

Came 1 hour before my appointment and as I'm waiting I am watching almost all of the phlebotomist open the door to call people for their appointments with gloves on. I get trying to save time but as a patient we are not aware if they were truly changed. I work in healthcare and I would assume they need to follow the same guidelines as a hospital or even a SNF. They are drawing blood and the gloves she be removed and hands sanitized after the draw. I do not recommend this location whatsoever. I had an appointment at 12:40 pm. I checked into a kiosk was assigned a number and was told by the kiosk someone will be with me. I was able to get the attention of a worker and she told me its too late for my appointment as it is 1:05 and i let her know I had been sitting waiting for someone to approach me and she said that i should've told someone. THERE IS NO ONE AT THE FRONT DESK TO HELP WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR PROVIDE GUIDANCE. She then proceeded to tell me she is on lunch and someone else would help me. This location is not only dirty, understaffed, unorganized, but it's also always very crowded. Took my son here a few times in the past, but these last two times were the worst. The lady somehow managed to get "the wrong tube" and it got messy! His blood everywhere. Although she's a nice lady I'm not so sure how experienced she is or if she was having a off day. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Having an appointment means nothing. You still sit for over an hour after checking in 20 mins early. If you have been fasting for 12 hours prior, tough luck. You still have to sit and keep starving even if it makes you sick. Again, an appointment means nothing when 50 other people also have appointments. To add insult to injury, the tv in the waiting room will repeatedly tell you that appointments dont wait when they show up. Meanwhile, you have been waiting over an hour for your appointment. If you just look around the waiting room it's clear they are fully out of touch with the reality of their business. I went there for a blood test today at 11 am. I had an appointment, waited 10 minutes and when I got called in, I was told that their computers are down so no blood tests today. They knew about this problem since 9 am. I asked why did I not get a call? I had to get out of work, drive 15 miles each way, so overall, they wasted more than an hour of my time. The woman just looked at me and shrugged. I then asked, what about the people waiting on standby? She then said, I will tell them once they get their name called. I was like, why not tell them now? I can't state how badly I didn't want to get routine bloodwork during a frickin pandemic! New doctor who I haven't met due to the Covid19 pandemic. They're only doing phone appointments (loving that tho!) He wants blood tests done so I have to stop putting it off. Darn... I know I can make an appointment since I have done that in the past and feel it's my best bet, but... no time! I walk in check in on a computer screen it says they will text me and I can wait in my car! I'm super excited not to have to be near people! After about 30 minutes of waiting and no text I go inside to see what's up... They've been calling my name? Whoomp whoomp why have a computer with bad info?! Well I guess it wasn't the whole story; There should've been someone standing by the door the first time to check my temperature and give me a pager... she had stepped away, so slight misunderstanding... But she was there to take my temperature offer me sanitizer when I came back in, she gave me a pager like you get at restaurants. The wait was quite short after that... The phlebotomist Brienne (hope I spelled that correctly) was lovely and very personable. I am a very hard person to get blood from, even in October... No vampires. (Silly Halloween joke) But they brought in Dana a specialist and between the two of them they made up for the wait and made me feel comfortable being there in the middle of the Covid19 pandemic. I wish there was an option for negative stars. I'd give -10 stars. They have No regard for appointments and force by almost yelling at the clients "If you don't sign in on their iPad they don't call you". Sadly, their iPad wasn't checking people in. I tried three times and it gave me 2 hours later appointment. I witnessed the staff yelling at talking to people in a loud voice to sign in. While I know most of them did but it didn't work, including mine. The staff lady Fiona who was supposed to be in-charge of the location in the absence of a manager, was condescending to all customers, short tempered, dismissive and rude. They miserably failed to provide professional service and Fiona was dismissive and rude to me too. Sadly, it didn't cost her anything but they delayed my timed test and it cost me serious consequences! Even though it isn't my job to keep track of time, but I still did because I didn't trust that the phlebotomist would. I reminded Fiona way in advance, she and multiple other staff members response was, " Mam JUST wait outside". I could see that the lady who set up a timer for me was stuck with another customer so I was trying to tell Fiona to arrange for an on time draw by someone else, but she didn't hear me out and rudely dismissed me and sent me outside. Even when they took me in, I said please draw the sample on time and deal with technical error later, to which Fiona rudely responded, "MAM JUST Wait" and they drew my blood LATE Fiona also didn't provide any support to the phlebotomist and made her nervous by saying, "you did this wrong and that wrong and well good luck!" Meaning I was upset and it's my phlebotomist's problem. That lady should NOT be put in charge if she doesn't have any Concept of teamwork, supportive environment and customer service. My phlebotomist had poor time management but at least she was remorseful. But Fiona made her nervous Which caused me a very painful blood draw and bleeding after the draw. I just cannot believe they didn't draw my blood on time even when I reminded them MULTIPLE times because Fiona refused to help out a colleague and my phlebotomist had poor time management and critical thinking skills. I am extremely annoyed with their service. It caused me so much pain to unnecessarily wait for 5 hours while I did make an appointment and if Fiona listened to me, she could've given me the glucose drink at 9:30 and I'd be done in 1 hour. I am suppose to be on a bed rest. It caused me to sit there for 5 hours and fasting for 13+ hours. It sucks that they hire incompetent staff who don't know what to do under pressure. I will never be returning to this location. And unfortunately they have no consequences and only I'll be suffering because of their incompetence! read more

Quest Diagnostics during the time of COVID- lots of distancing protocols in place. First thing upon entering, someone is next to the door directing you to use hand sanitizer which they provide. You have to wear a mask. You check in on the right- And then you can wait in one of the socially distanced spaced chairs or in your car. I made an appointment to get my tests done, but they take walk-ins. Not sure if the wait is longer if you don't have an appointment. Nothing remarkable about the actual blood draw. Fairly short the between check-in and being called in. I'm guessing the short wait time is because of quarantine- fewer people taking tests maybe? Anyway; good experience overall. read more

I have some tips for walk-ins! Tip 1: While checking in at the iPad station, there's a choice to either "Wait on-site" or "Make an appointment/wait outside". My recommendation is to only choose the "Wait on-site" option. For the wait outside option, the mobile software does not work and the link is a broken link. (This happened to me as well as one other person that I was talking to in the waiting room, so it was as if we had not checked-in at all!) Tip 2: Double check to see that your name is on the tv screen. (If you don't see your name, redo the check-in process.) If you don't see your name, you're not on their list! Tip 3: Right before you're about to be called in, your name will disappear from their screen, and that's normal. For me, I had a frustrating experience. I selected to "Wait outside". Don't choose "Wait outside", only choose "Wait inside"! The link I was sent on my mobile device from Quest didn't work. I waited longer, thinking that maybe the link would work if I clicked on it closer to my check-in time. (The link ended up never working.) I waited outside for 1 hour until my check-in time arrived. I returned, and saw that my name was not on the screen! I waited 20 more mins (thinking that maybe walk-ins were on a separate list). I asked the tech if I was on the list, and I wasn't!! I guess I was never on the list. I think she took pity on me and helped me re-register on the iPad. To be honest, I cried in the waiting room because I was so frustrated. After the tech helped me, I did see my name on the tv screen. However, once I did see my name on the screen, I didn't actually have to wait very long and the phlebotomist was nice. My parents went into due lab work for my mom that has neurosurgery Friday and the Phlebotomist PURI T was so quick to try and turn them around to find "somewhere else that can take them" in her own words. They were there early which in regards to time they accepted them earlier than their appointment time (20mins). She called their insurance and where "unable" to connect with any one or validate any other way my parents' insurance besides the phone, which when I called it said specifically they are able to validate online. I called their insurance and they verified that their insurance was active and in force. I even suggested Puri to check online and she clearly said, " I can't, I called 2X and already WAISTED 10 minutes on trying to verify her insurance" even though she heard the worker at the insurance verify my mom had insurance. I was super upset by this time because she was rushing the whole process that shouldn't even be stressful! At this time, she repeated to tell me she can "go somewhere else or pay out of pocket." I then asked her price, and she came back with an amount of $165 and that was "including" a 30% discount. I advised her to hand the phone to my dad and she assumed "ok so we aren't going to do it right" i told her no i just need to advise my dad of this and check if has able to make the payment. Purvi really did NOT give a first great experience at this quest! I felt for my parents as there was a language barrier and she made the whole experience feel rushed and not soothing at all. read more

Krizna at the front desk is rude and had an attitude problem. For someone who has to deal with customers as her job, she sure should has NO IDEA how to do so. She needs to be retrained to not think every question being asked is considered an attack on her personally. We arrived 45 min early for our appointment in hopes to get seen early with the expectation of waiting for our time. We were informed that they prioritize appointments over walk ins. A gentlemen walked in before us and checked in as a walk in. He got called before us so I politely asked her why he was called back first. She asked me his name. I don't know the relevancy of that. She didn't ask us for his name or to check on his status. My dads name wasn't on the screen so he asked them why after being here for 30 min. Krizna told us, I don't see your name you'll have to register again. I asked why she didn't check before after sitting for hella long. That's when she began her temper tantrum like a 4 year old. She kept running her mouth saying what is your problem, and even when I started talking to another employee she kept talking and running her mouth. She said quit telling me how to do my job... Only reason I give 3 stars is because I didn't see anyone change gloves. I work in a dental surgery office and glove changing is huge. She was touching all her keyboard and opening doors that everyone touches. I was nervous because it was my babies first time drawing blood he's only 5 and didn't even say anything but she drew blood and didn't change her gloves even after we were done she went back to touching her keyboard. I was greeted by a wonderful receptionist on my arrival and the check-in was prompt. In a few moments I was led into a room where one of the bay area's finest phlebotomist named Annamarie made me feel extremely comfortable and helped curb my anxieties. She indulged me with stories of my favorite television programs as she withdrew what seemed like 16 ounces of blood that felt like 16 seconds or less. A prompt urine test followed which was expedient and inobtrusive. I was done within 20 minutes and they even provided me a bottle of water to help promote urine production. I booked an appointment in advance, came 5 minutes early and checked in on time only to see a huge line. A technician told me that they were 1hour behind, and I'd have to wait an hour. I got there 10 min early for my blood test.appointment There was a security guard present that was helping everyone, and made sure I registered properly. I got in immediately. We've been to a lot of their locations mainly from Hayward and Fremont but I usually try to make our appointments at this Liberty one. I find this location to have a bigger waiting area, more staff and more than one gender neutral restroom. It's best to always make an appointment online, a few weeks in advance, if possible that way you get the time slot you prefer especially if the blood work requires fasting. The wait time is quite minimal when you have an appointment. Saturday is the usual day that we go and it's also their busiest. I like that you can easily check in using their iPads that they have available right when you walk in. Once you check in, you still have to wait for your name to be called since they need your lab work from your doctor, insurance and copy of you CDL. After that, back to your seat in the waiting room you go since you still have to wait until the can get you inside. This location has plenty of parking spots. I arrived for an appointment and checked in at the kiosk. I wasn't certain it had gone through because the last screen froze with the circle spinning. The person checking in at the same time on the kiosk next to mine was also spinning. They both completed and returned to the sign in screen. As I was waiting I noticed the other person's name on the checked in screen, but not mine. Since no one was working at the counter or coming out, after 5 mins I attempted to check in again. Still my name was not on the checked in screen. Finally when some one came out after 15 mins of waiting I told her that I didn't think my check in went through. Acting like I was wasting her time she entered my phone number at the kiosk and it said I was more than 10 minutes late. I told her I'd been there for 15 mins, arrive on time for my appointment and had attempted to check in twice. She said that my check in time clearly shows that I check in 15 mins late(that's when she checked me in). She rudely told me that I was late and that I had to wait as a walk in. I said fine, again trying to explain to her that I was on time and attempted twice to check in and it didn't work. The third time when she did it is the time it's showing as my check in. Finally after waiting as a walk in, she rudely tells me "the computer doesn't lie" and shows me a print out of my check in time(the time she checked me in) and that I needed to leave that they were closing. This woman's name is Krizna. She was extremely rude and impossible to talk to. She never once considered that the computer failed to acknowledge my two attempts to check in. I also see that my complaint against her is not an isolated issue. There are a number of complaints on yelp specifically about her and for similar situations. This is not how you treat customers. I had to reschedule for the next day and again get off work early. I'm glad she was not the person who drew my blood the following day because I see complaints against her about how rough she is, bruises and pain. I came in yesterday during the COVID-19 pandemic (no, I'm not sick) for some scheduled blood work. I had some concerns about being here beforehand, considering the gravity of our current situation. Nonetheless, I had to do what I had to do. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by a worker in pretty thorough PPE (gown, gloves, mask and face-shield) whom asked for my paperwork and insurance card and also asked me kindly to stand right where I was. After returning with my card, I signed in on the tablet which was right next to a table of gloves, masks and hand sanitizer. In addition, I was the ONLY one inside of the lobby (which I found out later was intentional as they were staggering the appointments) and there were only about 8-10 chairs which were spread-out according to the 6-foot recommendation. The aforementioned details helped put me that much more at ease. I was called in by the Phlebotomist roughly 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment time, which was awesome. Once inside of the room with the Phlebotomist (whom was wearing gloves and a mask), I was reassured that the proper items in the room were sterilized prior to my arrival. As for the process of drawing the blood itself (which I hate with a passion), she made me as comfortable as possible and it was over before I knew it!
