I have had mixed experiences in this Black Mountain, NC CVS. Today's experience was one of the…read moreworst. Last week i called the pharmacy to request a refill on medications. Two needed Dr's authorization or a renewed script. After several days with no text from CVS that medications were ready to be picked up, I called my Dr's office. They had not received requests from CVS for the medicine. Within a short timeframe, the dr's office called the refills in and I received texts from CVS that they were ready to be picked up. I went today to receive the meds. One med wasn't filled and the cashier (pharmacy tech?) was beyond unprofessional. My husband, a physician, asked about the unfilled medication. Apparently the manufacture was "out" of the very common medicine. This cashier became defensive and didn't answer the question but instead raised her voice, chose to be condescending and forcefully slammed the window closed. (The receipt identified the cashiers name and i will provide this if CVS management or corporate would like to have it. )The receipt indicated that her cashier # was 1922000. As stated, the rude and unprofessional behavior of this employee takes the cake. There have been other incidents that one overlooks or puts up with. One was a medication error, a few years ago, and it could have had disastrous consequences. Instead of mosquito prophylaxis, an unrelated drug (that i was not on or prescribed) was filled. Had my husband not picked up on the error, I wouldn't have known, wouldn't have been protected from malaria, and could have had rxns to the substituted medicine. Contrary to other reviews here, I have found Alisson, pharmacist, to be courteous and professional. She has even"gone the extra mile" in terms of trying to locate an out of stock med at another store. She sometimes asks if we need anything else from the store. So, I do not have a complaint about her.

I honestly hate leaving a bad review but I have had it with this pharmacy. Allison is an amazing…read morepharmacist but her co-workers leave so much to be desired--every time we refill a prescription, there is some fiasco, wrong refill, unnecessary calls to our doctors who have done their part, changes that they fail to notice or notify us of until we call them on it. Plus there is a giant, car-swallowing pothole at the drive-thru that they truly need to fix. All the other people who work behind the counter there can do is whimper a meek 'sorry' when they screw up.

I have been using this Pharmacy regularly for my husband's prescriptions since 2022. I can truly…read moresay I wouldn't have made it through the first year of his illness without them. They were always kind and very helpful and always willing to offer suggestions and go out of their way to help their customers. The last several times that I have been there I have noticed the level of professionalism and knowledge of the front line staff at the counter has diminished greatly. Now instead of being helpful they seem to just be running people through and usually are very short and snippy. I have been in twice in the past week and found this kind of attitude on both occasions. While standing in line today the girl at the counter was very short and basically rude with a gentleman. When she asked if he wanted to add his number he said he didn't have one but his wife probably did. She then asked if he wanted to add that and he said he didn't know what it was. A customer in line had to tell him that she was talking about her phone number. When she rang it up she told him it would be 426. He handed her a $5.00 bill and she said that is $426.00. You could tell that this took him by surprise and he was not prepared to pay that amount and didn't understand why it was so much. He left the prescription and said he wasn't paying that much. As for my situation I finally just left because it was obvious I wasn't going to get any help and no one was going to go out of their way to help me answer my question. CVS Pharmacy you are better than this. Do Better!

If you want to be treated poorly this is the place to go. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever…read morethat a store manager should treat a customer like they are an idiot. A really snide attitude for no reason. I don't care how bad your day (24 Dec 25) was/is. I ordered 4 items ($76) online for pick-up. I specifically selected in-stock items. I picked up my items only to find out there were only two of four items in the bag. Nothing was said about it during pick-up, nor was there anything said or printed that would tell me I was only charged for two items and not four. I asked the cashier about it, but she had to have the manager (female, long hair, slender) come out. Rather than talk to me, she talked to the cashier as if I wasn't there. Zero eye contact. I asked about the charge because the only thing I have says I paid $76 for four items. The manager says, "you were only charged $35." I asked how I would know that as she held her electronic device in her hand and said, "this says you were only charged $35 for two items." I asked if I could get something showing I was only charged $35. She acted as if the device she was holding was Top Secret and wouldn't show me anything. I know what Top Secret is and it's not a handheld device at CVS! I had to walk out at this point. No wonder why you only have 2.5 stars. I would give -5 stars, if I could. Poor service and bad attitude. This is the same place that refused to give me a COVID-19 shot because they didn't know how to enter a veteran in the system using Tricare. A little bit of delayed effort by the pharmacist who sat there listening for 30 minutes and did nothing to resolve the issue.
