CVS stands for Convenience, Value, and Service.. I would like to suggest a name change to Overpriced, Low Quality, and Poor Service. The store itself was relatively clean, but could definitely use some tidying up. There some items just lying around--which could be a safety hazard as people trip over them. The prices are pretty pricey. They do have some sales going on for various items at different parts of the month--but there weren't many promotions at this location compared to a Baltimore location I'd go to during school. The week I went in, they had a promotion on 2 liter sodas. We got a 2L Sprite for $0.99--unfortunately, when we got home and drank it...it was very FLAT and we had to end up throwing it away. This location needs work. TIP: get the care card to receive deals, discounts, and promotions--its free to get the card!

As I was…read morestanding in line I observed the cashier, Brandon (# 2590721) be friendly and greet the two white customers in line in front of me and the one behind me with with "Good Afternoon" and "How is your day going". When it was my turn to be waited on instead of greeting me he coldly said "Last Name", FN, DOB. Each time I started answering he rudely cut me off and the 3rd time he cut me off to assist a white customer who walked up to ask him a question. I asked to speak to the pharmacist so that I could inform her of my experience in how Brandon treated me compared to how the white patrons. The pharmacist is Yiftusira Wondimu who reluctantly walked over to me and when I began sharing my experiences with her she rudely cut me off and told me "you cannot say that because I know Brandon and he is not like that." I felt disrespected, discriminated against, and disregarded by both of them.

Also I'd like to thank the company, for getting rid of the tobacco products. That was a gutsy yet correct decision. CVS is about health, nutrition, and a pharmacy. The staff at this one are great, as the past week my son needed prescriptions. Done quick and had them in no time! My biggest issue with CVS is their prices. They tend to, at least in my opinion, be more than Walgreens and other competitors. Dollars and change matters these days, as we all are dealing with inflation and other costs. I do think this is a very nicely kept up location. Lines aren't a problem, and they are well stocked. If you're in the area this works for the basics.

I asked it they had any fresh cabbage and the produce guy went to the back and brought out a head of Napa cabbage. Not what I needed. Skipped all the rest of the produce on my list. Went to meat dept to pick up a whole ham. They had none. Wanted a nice rib roast. They had none. This store is a glorified 7-11. Like other big chains if you navigate the app for digital coupons and buy 5 items when you need 1, you can get a decent price. Sadly, the Walmart across the street is a "Unsuperstore," so you won't get good produce either place. Most annoyingly, trying to get past the group raising money outside is an effort, but then you'll be asked at self-checkout and maybe even confronted by an employee to give to a charity you may, or may not, have heard of. We give to charity, we don't come to the grocery store to do it. If Giant wants to give to charity, they area multibillion dollar company. If you can manage the drive to Harris Teeter, you'll regain some humanity.

Both the front registers and the pharmacy are chronically short staffed with long lines. Waited in line for almost a half hour today (on a Monday morning!) at the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. The one clerk in the pharmacy had difficulty communicating with every customer in the long line in front of me. When I finally reached the register, she could not spell my name correctly despite asking at least three times for me to spell it for her. She should clearly not be in a job where she has to interact with the public efficiently. Have gone to this location for years because of the close proximity to my home. Today, however, was the final straw. I'll be moving my prescriptions elsewhere.

I was able to get coupons on pictures and bar soap. Yes practical things, but nothing exciting. That's what CVS is, as my most common purchase is probably heartburn or other over the counter medications. Aspirin with my exercise program helps. This location is kind of busy. You might be smart to park on the opposite side of the lot. As for the store itself nice employees. It is clean and well organized. They have some good deals here and there, but shopping around for best prices makes sense. Pharmacy staff are efficient yet helpful.

After spending the day storm prepping my home and my mother's home yesterday afternoon, my last "to…read moredo" was to pick up my prescription incase we would be snowed in for days. On my way to the Giant on Ox road I looked up their hours and saw they closed at 6:00. I called this pharmacy at 5:50 PM to explain that I would arrive right at 6:00-6:02 PM and asked, given the imminent ice storm and public safety warnings telling people to stay off the roads for days, whether there was any flexibility to pick up my prescription that evening. The response I received from the female pharmacist was cold, dismissive, and repeatedly reduced to "we close at six, you can pick up your prescription tomorrow at 7AM" without any acknowledgment of the situation, the stress involved, or even basic courtesy. There was no attempt to explain why there was no flexibility, no recognition that severe weather creates real risk and urgency, and no effort to offer alternatives such as transferring the prescription to another location with longer hours or discussing next steps. I was spoken to as though my concern was an inconvenience rather than a reasonable request during an emergency situation. In fact, I was told on the phone that the pharmacy was "already closed" despite it being only 5:50 PM at this point. What made this especially upsetting was the complete absence of empathy. A simple sentence--"I'm really sorry, I understand why this is stressful"--or even honest transparency about system limitations would have changed the entire interaction. Instead, I was met with rigidity and indifference at a moment when compassion matters most. While my prescription was not life-threatening (note, I was at no point asked what my prescription was), this experience was deeply concerning on a moral basis. It's impossible not to think about how devastating this kind of dismissive treatment could be for someone who does need critical medication, especially during severe weather when options are limited. Policies are one thing. Treating people like they don't matter because the clock is about to hit closing time is another. This interaction fell far short of the standard of care and humanity patients should expect. I hope this location reflects on how these situations are handled and improves its approach to patient communication. I wanted to post my review as I'll be starting the trek to pick up my prescription today, despite the iced over roads and VDOTs recommendations to stay home, and tomorrow will be calling my doctor to transfer my prescription to a pharmacy that has the bandwidth to treat their patients with a bit more compassion and empathy.
