I've been to this CVS Pharmacy at Emory Village a couple times. It's a suburban-sized CVS that's…read moreopen 24 hours. Free parking can be hard to come by in Emory Village because of all the restaurants (and retail businesses) and limited parking lots in the immediate area. Luckily, if you're a customer of this CVS, you can park in their free and relatively spacious lot directly outside. Just don't walk off the property after shopping here or you'll get booted or towed. I last stopped by this CVS to pick up a tube of "After Bite" ($4.99 for 20 grams) for a mysterious bug bite/sting I sustained earlier in the day. The cream really didn't help much. It was disappointing. So much for the "Instant Relief!" advertised on the box. I think perhaps my bite/sting was too severe for the cream to help. In hindsight, I probably wouldn't have bought it. The store was clean, brightly lit, well-stocked, and compactly and efficiently organized. The staff was friendly and they greeted customers as they walked in. When you're ready to pay, you can have an employee ring you up or you can use one of multiple self-checkout stations. I went with the latter and had no problems. In the end, I think this CVS is A-OK (3 stars), but I'm bumping it up to 4 stars because it's open 24/7 and the staff was nice.

That said, we noticed this location has both garage and outdoor parking. There are escalators and an elevator from the garage. The store was poorly lit, and one of the self-checkout machines had a problem with the credit card reader. We found everything we needed and more. They do check receipts, but I'm pretty sure they don't actually verify them, which I find amusing.

I looked at their website and they showed them in stock and if you buy 10 you get a small discount instead of buying them individually. I went in dreading the visit but ran into a helpful person in the front who directed me to stationery. After wandering around a while I found an employee who said they're actually in hardware. I found the boxes but couldn't find and banded sets of ten so I assumed the volume discount would apply. I went to the self checkout registers and asked the employee if they needed to multiply my order by ten for the volume discount to apply. They said, no, just scan in all of them and the discount will appear as the end. When it didn't discount I showed the employee and she wouldn't fix it so I asked for a manager. After a few minutes he showed up and flatly refused to honor the online price unless I went home and placed a pickup order, then drove back to get my discount. I declined and drove to a hardware store that had moving boxes even cheaper so it worked out well. Every few years I try walmart to see if anything has changed but they're always consistently awful experiences. This time I've learned my lesson and I'll never shop at one again, so thanks for that.

I really do get it since I know a lot of pharmacy people. It irritates me that despite having a vaccine appointment, I have to wait a whole hour. This has happened multiple times. Things happen: The cars pile up. Medicine needs verification. But you don't have to have an attitude or scowl on your face. This one student tech was so rude that twice is enough for me to get my prescriptions filled elsewhere. And at the front/general area of the store... Multiple times my items have rung up incorrectly. This last time was it. Both my items failed to ring up the correct price. And the guy ringing me up was proactively talking on the phone while checking me out. Be on the phone. Whatever. But to do it while checking me out with my items having issues... And of course I have plenty more to complain. One employee was coughing to death and was wearing a mask. He should not have been working. I overheard the poor guy say he threw up. Um. I hope he feels better? But why did he even show up? And the MOD didn't think he should have been sent straight home?! #goodbye
