I came in looking for a self-administered COVID test & was told they were out & "no one in the city has any COVID tests". Well, in the eternal words of Maury Povich, that's a lie. If I could give this location less than one star I would. It's not that people aren't nice but they just can't seem to get it together. They remove insurance discounts and then say you don't have insurance when we do. They have overcharged for months and now tell us to take a hike and figure it out. We've been using CVS for 15+years and will now look for something else. So much for transparency on what we are supposed to pay and they keep trying to get the highest price when they shouldn't. This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to, they take a long time and you can never get ahold of a pharmacist on the phone because of the operator. Then when you talk to them they cut you off and answer with an attitude. I'm so over them!! read more

If I could grade this location a "0" I would. Hands down the worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with. I've given them chance after chance and every single time I am disappointed. They never have the medication ready when it is supposed to be. They don't open early or stay open late. They take a lunch break and completely close as opposed to keeping a rotating staff. And the most recent problem is they returned my medication to stick after I called them twice to confirm I was picking it up. I am moving all of my business to the HEB Pharmacy at Tower Point. They are friendly, efficient, and reliable. read more

Where do I begin?! I used to go to a good pharmacy- costco. ButAetna in its infinite wisdom made me come here. If I could give it a negative number I would. Closed for lunch at 128 even ( mot 1:30 yet)if people are in line ( costco takes care of people in line Gen. Goes to lunch 30 min later. And it is stated). Came to get medicine for incision infection and sign says closed for holiday. No holiday?Oh. No. That is the wrong sign. I could go on. This place would be closed if people had a choice. read more

On several occasions, the pharmacy employee did not ask for my "CVS Care" card, and scanned her card instead (to get points to her account, - those points translate into some CVS bucks). [I reported this to the store manager, who apologized and restored the points for my account] 2. On at least one occasion, while using the drive-through, the employee swiped her own "CVS Care" card instead of my wife's. 3. On several occasions, even though the prescription was sent in by the doctor directly in the morning, they have not started working on it by the evening time. 4. If your phone happens to be on their list, the system will be calling you, informing about your prescription completed. It is hard to impossible to remove your phone number from that system. 5. Recently, they forgot to add water to the powder to make the suspension from the powder (as must be done for this type of medicine). While other problems are inconvenient or unpleasant, this one is worrisome. While adding water is not a big deal by itself (even though you need to measure the amount which is inconvenient if you don't have the right size measure), this incident makes me nervous about other types of more critical mistakes they can make. This incident made me even more convinced that I must carefully check all the prescriptions I am getting from this (or any other) pharmacy. As the other yelper wrote, the employees of the pharmacy department aren't the most friendly people. Over 5 years, only one pharmacist was friendly, and he is no longer working here. Every time I see people in this department, they seem to be very busy. Combined with the fact that the wait for the prescription drug is almost always longer than what I've seen at other pharmacies, I can guess that the department is either understaffed or staffed with the people who are underqualified. In both cases, the blame would be on the hiring management (and likely the employment policies/conditions that prevent good pharmacists from getting or remaining employed here). Also, one should be aware that this pharmacy is not open 24 hours. Why am I still using this pharmacy? 1. In this area, CVS seems to have one of the best accesses to the distribution centers. On two occasions, when I was looking for not-very-common prescription medication, they were quoting the shortest wait time (and they indeed received it that quickly) compared to several other major pharmacies (and pharmacy chains) in town. 2. The only reason to go to this pharmacy is if your insurance carrier makes you. The phone assistance is delayed (20-30 minutes) and the staff are undermanned. They are unable to promptly get prescriptions out because of the volume of business. The only way that CVS will correct this is if people avoid this location in order to have them lose money and then possibly they will realize the short-sighted understaffing is costing them business instead of just decreasing operating expenses. read more

This place isn't staffed well and I've always had to wait for the cashier to come from the aisles to check out my items. The selection is okay but the prices are very high compared to Kroger which is in the same parking lot. Save yourself time and go to Kroger or Walgreens. read more

Slow and never ready when quoted! Many times, I have re-ordered medications online and arrived to pick the order up to be told to either drive around so that the next customer can be helped or told to come back in 30 minutes. They also were using the wrong insurance and charging a higher price. When I found out. I only got reimbursed for a small fraction of what was owed. Just to get that much was like "pulling teeth". There is always discrepancy on the price that they charge me and the price they actually take out of my HSA. I've had it and I am changing to a different pharmacy. read more

Understaffed, slow, bad customer service, and almost never have your prescription ready when it says it's ready! I went today to pick up a prescription that I received a text message for saying it wasn't covered by insurance and when I clicked on the link it says call them if you don't want it filled otherwise you don't have to call and It'll be ready at 1:38 PM so I go around 430 or so to pick it up and I accidentally filled the wrong one, came back to return it was question as to why I'm not taking that medication and then told that they can't fill the one that said would be ready without explanation as to why. Not the first time something of this nature has happened but it will be the last. I will definitely be transferring all my prescriptions to a different pharmacy! I just hope that they can get that right. read more

Worst customer service in the pharmacy ever. My son has the flu and his pediatrician called in a prescription for Tammiflu to this store. I know from previous experience you have to call ahead to find out when it should be ready. So I called and was told it would be about an hour. Woke up my sick, sleeping child to go pick it up to be told when I got there they were out of that particular formula. Received no offer of assistance to try to see if other pharmacies had it in stock. Not even a call over to the other local CVS's. Made calls myself and ultimately had the doctor call in a prescription for another formula. Called CVS again to confirm when would be best to come pick it up. I woke up my sick, sleeping 7 year old again and showed up 20 minutes past when I was told it would be ready. Was told it had not been processed yet and to come back in 10 minutes. Drove around and came back and was informed they were out of that as well!! The girl at the window said she could fax it to another local CVS to be filled. When I asked if she had confirmed that they had it in stock she said they had it the "last time we called so hopefully they haven't run out". I should mention that this girl frequently had to turn away from the drive through window to ask questions from someone I assume is the pharmacist who would glance out the window at me, certainly hearing my frustration at not having medicine for my son after two trips, and then turn away. Great leadership. I was told they had written on the fax to rush filling the prescription. So, then I called the second CVS to make sure they had the medicine in stock. I was told they did. I explained about what I had been through and asked if I could go straight there to pick it up, in order to not have to take my son back home and back out yet again. The man I spoke to said there was nothing he could do about what the other store did and it would be at least 2 hours. CVS corporate should be so proud of how the different branches are all working together to advance the company as a whole! I then called the first CVS (Rock Prairie) and asked for a manager to lodge a complaint. Explained the whole ordeal and got a "sorry, I'll share this with pharmacy". I am done with CVS. If I could give this pharmacy a negative number of stars, I would. This is the absolute WORST pharmacy I have ever visited. DO NOT GO HERE. They are totally ride, uncaring, and completely incompetent. I had just been released from the Emergency Room, and needed a prescription before the 1.30 drive home. After we dropped off the prescription they told us to come back in 30 min. So we went and got my husband something to eat since he had been in the emergency room with me all day. We went back and they said it would be another hour but if he came in vs the drive thru they could get to it quicker. So he had to leave me sick in the car. After about 45 min more they called him to the counter and said they could give him 6 of the 20 pills and we could come back tomorrow for the rest. it is a 1 - 1.5 hour drive for us to come in from our rural location. We were so upset, we left without it at all and got it locally, but not til the next morning. Then I had a follow up appt the next week after the emergency room visit, and again another drug was prescribed. It was called in, and I waited 6 hours to go get it, so they would have time. when I got there they said they needed 30 more minutes. So I drove around for 30 min. when I came back, they said didn't have it ready, but if we came in it would go quicker. Then she looked at her screen and said , "oh, we don't even have this, you'll have to come back on Tuesday." Believe me, I'm not coming back Tuesday or ever again. I have transferred my prescriptions to Kroger. if you don't have all or part of a prescription, you should tell the patient this from the very start. If I performed my job with the precision that this pharmacy staff does, I would have been fired a long time ago. I don't know why they are allowed to get away with this type of customer service.... You can tell they really just don't care at all. read more
