Teagan is the most disrespectful person I've ever encountered at an H‑E‑B. I recently lost my ID and was issued a paper one from the DMV he refused to accept it because "TBC does not let us take paper ID's" when my roommate who works at this exact H‑E‑B says they are constantly taking them. I was able to prove to him my age and I have my Aggie ring and an alternate form of ID, it truly felt like he was racially discriminating me because I am a Latina Woman, all of his mannerisms pointed to that and he was being extremely rude. No matter how many times I have tried their rye and sourdough, the bread is full of large holes where they don't take the time to knead it correctly. 2022 HEB #543 Crawfish Boil event. It had been years since we had enjoyed crawfish, and this year we are SO glad that we participated! We arrived at this location, and the crawfish stand was all set up and lively with music from a speaker which was very inviting. (They promptly were ready to serve at exactly 11am!) We proceeded to go see what the crawfish looked like already cooked, and we liked the looks of them. A professionally displayed menu of what the stand offered was beside the set up: we made notes to get 2lbs of crawfish, 1lb of jumbo shrimp, 1/2lb red potatoes, and 1/2lb of corn on the cob. We went inside to procure our favorite sodas and then went to the stand to place our order. Hayden, Bryan, and a man wearing the coolest shirt were manning the stand. The cool man's shirt had an awesome screen that said, "We the people Eat mud bugs". Totally rad! We were greeted very cheerfully despite the weather was windy and getting hot. The men had the routine all worked out, and we were on our way before we knew it. The crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, and corn were cooked to PERFECTION not a single item was over cooked. (We truly appreciated that they were NOT drowned in garlic bits or heavily seasoned, yuck!) They definitely know how to season the boil, and we went back every weekend we could! Well, the season is coming to a close and so is the stand's participation. We went last Sunday looking for them, and we got the sad news. We will back front and center next season! We had some of the best picnics eating the crawfish and working on our tans was delicious! HEB, Hayden, Bryan, and the Cool man are the BEST crawfish team in BCS! read more

Last night, my friend and I went to this store to buy alcohol. We showed our valid IDs, but they refused to sell us. We asked why and she said we can deny your purchase, and I do not tell you the reason. The manager just wanted to back up her employee and refused to sell us for no reason too. Last night, I went to the HEB to shop groceries and I had a Champagne in my bag. I showed my ID to the cashier but she said I cannot accept your ID and sell alcohol to you. I explained that I'm 25 yo and showed my school ID as well. I asked why she doesn't accept it and she said I can deny your purchase and I do not tell you the reason. So, I asked to talk to her manager. The manager repeated the same things. Although I offered them to bring my passport as well, they said they do not accept passport as valid ID!!! I also offered them to call the cop if they believe I'm showing a fake ID but they basically said we don't sell you alcohol for no reason. The manager name was Jamie E. Although I don't care about alcohol, I am very offended and I was emotionally damaged and cried when left the grocery. They offended me while I didn't do anything wrong. I This HEB outdoes every Kroger within a 6 to 20 mile radius. It's actually a very nice HEB for an older one too. It comes correct with its meat department and has the most swiftly self check out in town. Especially if you are buying alcohol. I do not use this H-E-B location much since it is generally not on my route to or from home. It is not quite as upscale as the H-E-B Tower Point off of Fitch but it carries pretty much the same things as the other H-E-B's located around the area. The one thing that is different is that it has a coffee bar, nice touch and I usually see them in stores in Austin, Houston and San Antonio. This location probably caters more to the students as their international section is not very large but then again the BCS Asian Grocery Market is just up the road. He cut 11 oz of coochie fish for me and it was the most delicious ever. he also sold me crawfish also and it was finger licking good (kfc approved if they sold fish). He was super friendly and even gave me a hug when i told him i was having a bad day, so sweet. Going to this HEB is definitely the most convenient because of where I live but I much prefer the one in Bryan. This one is always crowded with college students, some of them who have very little ettiequte when it comes to parking and minding other people's personal spaces. Since it is the more busy HEBs here, the produce doesn't seem as fresh, but if you're lucky and see them add more produce that's usually very fresh! However, there are times when there are very few people and shopping here is quite enjoyable. One thing that bothers me about all the HEBs is that I don't think any of then aisles are intuitively placed, there are cold and perishable items located on the perimeter of the store, when I think they should be all in one area, especially since the store itself is huge. I'd expect staples like dairy and eggs to be in the same location, but cheese has its own area in the deli, far from the eggs and other dairy products. However, there is a very wide selection of options to choose from, coupons located throughout the store to help you determine what to buy if you're in a pinch for money and there are so many HEB and country hill products to choose from! All of which are very delicious and up to par! The staff generally seems very helpful and kind although not very knowledgeable about all the products. read more

How often do you check your receipt at a grocery store? I always do this at this HEB (and the other one in College Station). Try it yourself, and you'd be surprised. Why? Because once every 2-3 visits I am overcharged. This typically happens with the items that are "on sale", typically fruits or vegetables. Today, I was overcharged $1 on a $2 honeydew melon. That is 50% more! (... and about 5% of my today's, relatively small purchase.) Sometimes, the price difference is even higher (I remember as high as $5 overcharge for one item!) If I notice it at the cashier, it takes time them to send somebody to check the price and then to do the adjustment. When I don't notice until after the check is finalized and paid, I have to go to the customer service, sometimes wait until other people are helped, and then again wait until they check for the price label in the correct department. Most of the time it happens, and especially at the customer service, they don't even bother to apologize. But they always have the same well rehearsed excuse: "We have many items, and the prices changed every week, and so we make mistakes". Well, if you do a mistake, you go and fix it, don't ya? On more than one occasion, when I came back in a day or two, before Wednesday when the sale changes, and I am overcharged again for the same item. They don't bother to fix it. Today's visit was on Saturday, in the evening. The sale started on Wednesday. So, for half a week, including a half of the weekend, they've been overcharging all customers 50% on these honeydew melons! And I am sure (and according to their "logic" and statistical analysis, that there must be other items that are also charged a wrong price. And after some 6 years in BCS, I am yet to see any of the prices to be wrong in the other direction. So, overcharging everybody some 1-2% of the entire purchase on average must be systematic. It might not that much on a single purchase scale, but "a billion here, a billion there, pretty soon, you're talking real money." as the former US senator Everett Dirksen once said. This store doesn't have the policy where an item that was charged the wrong amount is given to the customer for free (as it is done in many if not most big supermarket chains around the country). So, the store has no downside for making their frequent "mistakes" that increase their profits. And how many customers check their HEB receipt every time (or at all)? I leave the judgments if it is a store-level scam or not to the reader. How often do you check your receipt at HEB? I always do it here! read more

Great HEB in College Station. This is a million times better than getting shot or stabbed at Krogers down the street. The produce here is always fresh, and the staff is super helpful when you find them. They have a large isle of GLUTEN-FREE items which I'm in love with. As well as the same gluten-free bread they use at Grub Burger Bar. They do cary Nutella which is Heaven sent mixed on some strawberry non-high fructose corn syrup and NOM away you go YO. I'm going to make one right now, brb. okay back, HEB also has great bathroms if you need to stop in real quick. They do have a pharmacy as well as a great floral selection of goodies. read more

Gave 2 stars bc the service in deli was great. However, we were quite disappointed w the front end service. Went through the self checkout and it felt like we were in our own. We needed the cashier to clear is for alcohol so only thing on the console was "waiting on cashier". We were the only ones in the area and she was busy talking to another cashier instead of attending to her duties as I stood there waiting. Neither made an effort to greet me nor acknowledge I was even standing there. After I went over there to ask her to do it we had another issue w the terminal locking up. Again she was inattentive even as we three stood there looking at her. Additionally, her "MIC" (manager) Brian was standing there and looked at us needing assistance as we waved him down to help. Instead of coming over and offering aid (notoriously outstanding service other locations are famous for), he glanced at us, turned, and walked away. You'd think it was unusual for people to be standing there for 5 minutes doing nothing.... Anyway, evidently this location has a reputation for ignoring patrons and it's become an acceptable thing. We come up here to visit friends and family and this is the first time inside this location, and it will be our last. There's another location in CS and we will be sure to go there next time since we are evidently a bother to assist. read more

We just moved to this area and started shopping here. The staff is so nice. On Saturday it was raining and I watched staff walking guests to their cars with umbrellas. One young man held an umbrella over me as I got into my truck. Never have I experienced this type of guest service. The cashiers and baggers are so friendly. They have a great selection. Love their craft beer selection as well. I will continue to shop at this store from now on. read more

I went there to shop and was curious about the online ordering. I spoke to an associate that was selecting items for pickup. I asked about how the select produce and such (to ensure they are fresh). She could not speak highly enough telling me they would deliver to my home. I stopped shopping and went home to try my very first online grocery experience. Let me tell you...she lied. Shopping there gives you a queezy feeling. Prices marked on the shelf are not the same as those in the register when you check out. This is more than just bad management practices. The prices are always higher at the register. They advertise a baguette for $1.49. Fair enough. But when you get it home, you realize it is not the real thing. It is a soda bread, and has the consistency of a bolsa. In general, prices are higher at this store than competitors in the Brazos Valley. But they are also higher than other H.E.B. stores in the area. If you want decent prices at HEB, you have to go to North Bryan. And then you lose the variety that you find here. So they know they are selling at higher prices and don't care about it. Or you! When you take it apon yourself to point out the error of their ways, because you would like to see improvement, because you care about the place you shop, the staff get not just defensive, but overly aggressive and unfriendly. Maybe that's what you get when you hire students and pay them a low wage. They know that in 2 years they will be earning three times as much, and don't care about service. read more

I've been shopping at this HEB since I moved here in August. Most of the time I use their curbside service. I've only been in the store a handful of times. I've been thoroughly impressed with the level of care. My groceries are handpicked by very friendly associates & I actually save money by not browsing the isles myself. I also appreciate what the company did for Harvey victims. That alone makes me happy to give them my business. read more

When school is in session this must be the busiest HEB in Texas. It's a great place to pick up some store made tortillas to build a Layne's chicken soft taco. The new HEB over past Rock Prairie has a better selection of... well, everything. Love this place. First time visiting a H-E-B after hearing so much about it from friends. Great selection of produce and groceries. The prices are also great. The best HEB I've been to. Their Mediterranean bar always has delicious olives and good cheese. They also have an isle of spices, nuts and dried fruits where you can fill your own. I also LOVE their sushi; the California rolls and San Antonio's rolls are delicious. The bakery is usually good nothing too crazy. The tortillas though are super fresh and delicious. The deli always has unique cheeses too. Honestly I normally don't review things other than restaurants but this HEB is great. read more

Used the curbside pick up for the first time today. I needed a large quantity of fruit for a work event and checked prices and H-E-B was cheaper than Sams. Called this location and spoke with James who is the manager of curbside and he was very helpful, very nice and made this a great experience. This isn't the HEB closest to my home but I would consider using this one more due to this experience. read more

This H-E-B's 4-star rating is on shaky ground. The Caribbean section in the international foods section is shrinking fast. It totally vanished at the Bryan store. They have been neglectful with stocking/ordering import beers. I haven't seen Asahi in this store for at least a year. They hadn't stocked Labatt for about 2 months, and Moosehead appeared at the same time after about a 3 or 4 week absence. They used to stock a delicate Pilsner style beer from France called Kronenbourg 1664, but it has been gone for nearly 3 months. A delivery guy from Kristen (Miller, Coors, Shiner,... distributors) was stocking one evening about two weeks ago, and I asked him about it, but he had never heard of it before. I'm a bit worried that this economic recession/credit meltdown will pressure this H-E-B to compromise the variety and quality I was so happy to see in 2003. I don't want to see this place dumbed down, blanded down, and made into strip-mall sprawl. read more

It's cool for the most part but I don't understand why no one takes expired food off the shelves. One day there was Parmesan cheese out and like 6 containers had green fuzzy mold lol that's not 2-3 days bad that's a solid week or more. I got a rotisserie chicken last night and made the mistake of not checking the sticker...I trusted it was made that day the sticker said 2/22. Good 5 days under a heat lamp. Safe to say I threw it away...unfortunately after eating a piece before seeing the sticker. read more
