This is one of two CVSs located close to the Merchandise Mart in downtown. This when is in similar need of new carpeting. There was two staff members working at this location during the day. I came here to buy a bottle of wine and they had the door locked so I had to wait for someone to come unlock it. There were not that many customers during the day and self checkout was minimal wait. They have the standard variety of CVS items that do not seem to have premium prices for the location. read more

Addison in the Pharmacy should not be preaching kindness when she behaves unprofessionally with the disabled who don't have their medicine and have been jerked around by the CVS app all day which miscommunicates and blows. Somebody talk to her about not having animosity against a customer just because she has an underdeveloped pre-concieved notion about why they're saying they don't want to yet again return home and come back yet another 4 hours later. read more

Came here to grab a few things. This was a really a small but really expensive CVS establishment and most of the shelves were empty of product. Don't think about asking for a restroom because there's none of that here. Staff wasn't too friendly but the security guard at the front was actually kind. Overall, not the best place to visit. read more

Your self checkouts don't work!!!! Fix them or get rid of them. The staff are clearly frustrated with them as well.

I got here 6 minutes before closing, at 10:54pm on a Thursday, but they had already locked the doors. I have a cold and really just wanted to quickly get some NyQuil. I knocked on the window and this lady just looked up from here phone at me and then made a sign of her hand crossing her neck, which I take as indicated that they're closed. We needed some cold medicine quick! and saw this on our walk back to our hotel. The revolving door was blocked and the other entrance was crowded with people going in and out but once inside, all was well. There was a selection of meds from which we could choose, the candy section was also well stocked! The store looked pretty good for obviously being pretty busy. This CVS is a little rough. It's dark, dingy, and doesn't have the best layout. The aisles have boxes of stock in them and are narrow enough in spots you have to duck and lean to get around other patrons. The store is fairly large for how tucked away it looks, so if you need something you'd typically find a drugstore it's probably there. Just know you're going to pay for it - items were definitely on the more expensive side, but the profits aren't being put back into ambiance or staff. On my visit there was one person working the checkout counter, but she wasn't actually ringing anyone up. All registers had a closed sign and everyone was directed to the self checkout. When I checked out the employee came out from behind the counter to watch me ring my items up and thanked me for coming, but if they have the time to watch me you think they'd just run the register. *shrug* This was the closest spot to my hotel, but in the future I'd probably seek out another retailer. read more

I came into this CVS to look for some dishwasher detergent. It's a small-ish store but amply stocked with all of the basics. Some of the inventory was missing on the shelves. I found one pack of Cascade dishwasher tabs for $7.29. But later when I went to Jewel-Osco, I found the same thing for like $3 cheaper! Gosh darn it, I just wasted a couple of bucks. Oh well. But it was still good to come here to check out this store (and check into Yelp ;)), and the cashier was really friendly. read more

Had fun shopping here while on business. it was a great experience and I found everything I needed except essentia water. This place doesn't have a great selection of water. Whatever though - 3rd world problems. It was so funny because right before I left an employee named Jerry decided to step behind the registers for his shift. Obvi, Jerry is not a happy guy nor is he grateful to have a job in this economy because he let out a loud belch as he walked behind the register knowing it was loud enough for customers to hear. I said whoa! that's not professional yet Jerry chose to ignore me. These young men today really should respect there elders. ***This is a decent size CVS with a good variety of hygiene items, household items and supplies (a decent variety of umbrellas were available when a sudden downpour started to occur); prices, as to be expected since this CVS is in Downtown Chicago, are a little on the high side*** Parking in this area is limited and expensive though this CVS is close to a CTA station. read more

You always have to use the self checkout here. Even if there is a line 20 people long they refuse to open the customer cashier lanes. As much as I hate it myself, it is kinda funny to stand in line and watch other customers get really pissed off so I guess there's that... read more

I know some may think that giving a CVS a one star review is a little bizarre. But then those must not have not been to this particular CVS. The store is fairly large, yet no matter what I'm looking for, the store either does not carry or it has an absurdly limited selection. There are tons of employees skulking around the store, but there's usually only one person at the front helping the long line of customers. Employees have progressed well beyond rude to mean and spiteful--not just to me, but to sweet elderly people, young mothers, etc. Unbelieveable. read more

I work near this CVS, so I try to stop in for quick items if I need them (snacks or makeup) - a lot of the shelves are empty of product, but there are bins on the floor full of items not stocked. I step over them constantly. When I was looking at some trail mix snack packs a few days ago, an employee was taking off the yellow special tags and squeezed by me with her cart- I was brushed into the snack tower!! It was very awkward and uncomfortable. This locations a clumsy and disheveled store that I will only go into for hosiery- it's always stocked and good prices for good quality. read more

I visit this place 3 times a week. Since the new manager started in 2014 (Bob) the store has been run much better. Everything is well stocked and the staff are pretty cool. Running a high-volume convenience store this well is very, very hard (I have worked retail) ...but Bob is a great manager that gets things done right! read more

Unlike everyone else who has written a review for this CVS, I've only had positive experiences here. The pharmacy staff at this CVS is fantastic. They're always really quick, available to answer any questions, and always have my prescription ready on time. There also is rarely ever a wait, which I appreciate. The store in general has a good selection of products and unlike the other Yelpers who've reviewed this store, I actually like the self check out stations. So all in all, I've got nothing but good things to say about this CVS. Who knows, maybe I live in some alternate CVS universe? read more

Minute clinic? More like hour and a half clinic. There was nobody waiting in front of me to see the physician, but it took 10 minutes for her to notice I was waiting. Then took about 40 minutes to fill an over the counter prescription that the physician sent the pharmacist from 15 feet away. Also there were several muster stains on all the chairs in the waiting area. This is why Walgreen's is better than CVS read more

Very understaffed. The pharmacist remained calm despite being the only person there with a crowd of irritated people trying to get their meds. After a good, long wait they did not have the meds I needed and I had to trek to another pharmacy. I am not sure that these meds are normally stocked but I had a wicked earache and the opportunity to test my patience. I am glad to say I kept my normally friendly demeanor as it was rewarded with the same in return. And the pharmacist made calls to competitors to find a local pharma with the meds I needed. So management gets zero stars and the pharmacist gets 4. I use CVS everywhere and I have never seen one managed like this one. There was no one at the front register the entire time I was there. I walked into this place around 8:45 p.m., and there were two young male employees standing inside near the entrance. One of them told me, "I'm sorry sir, we're closed." I said okay and started walking back to go out, and then he said, "I'm just messin' with you, man." Huh? When I was ready to check out a few minutes later, the guys were still standing around. I walked to the checkout counter, but the one employee waved me to the self check-out so he wouldn't have to be bothered. I'll just assume this CVS is "closed" from now on. read more

Horrible experience. The manager has no idea what to do or how to get help. We were purchasing gift cards for corporate purposes and she had a bunch of system issues in ringing it up. She didn't know why or who to call to resolve the situation. Usually customer service at cvs is pretty good, but this was awful. read more

Pharmacy staff is really nice. I never have my prescription number and they are always helpful with looking it up and letting me know how much I have to pay before I go in. When I forget to pick up my prescription they call me. Great service. read more

This review is for the pharmacy... My scripts are always ready on time and the staff usually remember me and greet me by name... They have resolved issues with my insurance and even called in my scripts out of state when I forgot my pills at home when traveling. read more

This pharmacy only has a few dedicated staff members but they're the best in the city! The people who work in this CVS pharmacy give personalized service, they remind you that you're an important person even though they're always super busy with all the other important people who need their help, and the most important detail about this pharmacy is the professional courtesy they consistently provide while consulting with you about medication, accurately calculating the costs, preparing your prescriptions, and checking you out quickly always WITHOUT ANY subtle (or overt) judgement or attitude, unlike many other pharmacists. Whether it's regarding insurance or lack-there-of, filling a new Rx or refilling a monthly Rx, no one deserves attitude or harsh treatment from pharmacists--as they are one of the key people involved in all of our wellness & care. read more

I agree with the previous reviewer - this is one of, if not, the worst drug store I have ever been to! My problem is the fact that they have clearly written on the outside, "Photo Department" yet now they do not process photographs! What the heck!! And every employee is ridiculously rude and grumpy!! This has to be one of the shadiest, dirtiest CVS stores in the city. Yuck. Just yuck. Dropped in yesterday looking for Yes to Carrots lip gloss. Of course, they didn't have any. They barely had any Yes to Carrots, period. And what they did have was hugely overpriced. So, that sucked. They did have a giant Burt's Bees display that included a lot of lip balms that were very overpriced, too. Did Burt's Bees sell out? Why else would they be in this place? What really skeeved me out, though, was the huge display of Kerastase products. You know, the salon-only brand that comes from Europe and costs $$$? This is illegal and they had a whole display that upcharged even more than what a salon would charge. Where did they get it? It's clearly stolen or bootlegged. I don't know when CVS infiltrated this city but I don't like it. It's not a pretty or particularly good store. I walked out and found the nearest Walgreen's! read more

This is the WORST CVS store I have ever visited. Barely any of the shelves are filled with product and there are misplaced items everywhere. Unpacked boxes fill the floor and when I've asked for an item I cannot find, I'm told that CVS doesn't distribute the same products to each store. I hate to complain, but I live right by this store and REALLY hope corporate comes in to clean it up! I'll be walking the few extra blocks to hit up the clean and organized Walgreens until this CVS shapes up. read more

All staff were very friendly. Pharmacy was VERY efficient and helpful. I was in and out with my prescription within 15 minutes!

This morning I left my umbrella by the blood pressure machine. Called and was transfer to the pharmacy, I informed them of what I was looking for, they said, one moment; then I was on hold for over 10 minutes. I hung up and called back directly to the pharmacy; they did not let me speak, and just said hold on, proceeded to hold on for a few more minutes, hung up. Then walk back to the store and saw no one even in line by the pharmacy. Horrible customer service for something that would have taken them less then a minute to check. On my way out, reported the incident to the Store Manager, he apologized. read more
