This CVS is conveniently located near the Merchandise Mart in downtown. It's definitely in need of new carpet. I went there twice during the day and there was not many people shopping. There was no one working at the cash register and when people were doing self check out we had to wait a while if we needed help. Only one staff member came to help and there were three of us waiting at three different self checkouts. I would hate to have to come here during a busy time. They have everything you might need from snacks to over-the-counter medications to forgotten toiletries, but nothing special. read more

I work down the street from this CVS. Very RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL WORKERS. I'm all about the young people having a place to work and making money. But, corporate should provide more training and etiquette classes for their employees. Every time I come here it has been unpleasant with employees with attitude. Location and convenience make this CVS location my go to during the work day for "emergencies". Whether I forgot to bring a snack for a potluck, left my haircare products at home, or need an Advil to cure a headache, this CVS has saved me! While the interior leaves little to be desired (it's very dark and crowded), they've always had what I've come in there looking for! The other day was like many others before, and I realized I had left supplies I need for an event at home. I strolled on over to this CSV and upon entering was greeted by the nicest gentleman. After grabbing what I needed, I headed to self check out. One of the items I had grabbed was super on sale, and when I scanned it, the discount wasn't showing. The nice man informed me I need an extra care card (honestly was surprised I didn't already have one). We'll the discount was enough for me to sign up, plus it's free, so I went over to the register and got signed up! And after scanning, BAM I saved like 10 bucks! CVS really took extra care of me. Get it?! Anyways, the moral of the story is this CVS, while not the prettiest, cleaniest, or most aesthetically pleasing, it's convenient, the people are nice, and it's saved me on more than one occasion! If you're in the area and in a pinch, this CVS will take extra care of you. Okay, I'll stop now. read more

I had a follow up appointment at 344 W Hubbard to read test results. I waited 1 hour and 20 minutes after my appointment time. No communication from the staff on wait time and no apology from the RN. At the 10 minute mark, I asked the pharmacist about the delay and was told the RN was late that morning. At the 40 minute mark I asked the pharmacist for help because I needed test results read at the 1 hour mark. She told me to go interrupt the appt of another patient, which I pointed out would be unwise for the protection of doctor patient confidentiality. She then agreed to call. 40 minutes later when I finally got in, the RN did not apologize. I asked what caused the delay, and she told me she wasn't getting into other people's business. I was shocked by the poor customer service and lack of communication, acknowledgement, and accountability. 0/5 stars. read more

This isn't the most ~*~glamorous CVS (teal accents are no one's friend), but it gets the job done. The Minute Clinic is great; Keonya is very helpful! It was kind of odd that I asked for the bathroom and they said there wasn't one (not just that we couldn't use one...!), but when I mentioned that I was told there was one while in the Minute Clinic, they let me in and used a key card. This might've been the lamest version of a James Bond movie ever. :o read more

I prefer this CVS because it is not as busy as the one on Kinzie. I don't know why people are saying the employee's are unhelpful or rude. I've always been greeted and helped. Today was traumatizing... I had to get a new passport photo. I left my home feeling pretty good about my head and.... let's say florescent lighting is not my friend. I felt like the Seinfeld episode where Jerry was dating a girl that turned hideous in certain lighting. Cyndy was so super sweet. Vanessa, in the pharmacy, recently went above and beyond assisting getting a prescription filled during the height of Covid-19 at a time when we could not easily get to the store in person. CVS has apparently decided to replace humans with machines. Well, so are a lot of places. However, only at CVS is your ONLY option to check out with a machine. This wouldn't be a problem if they required an IQ test in order to use automated self check-out. Because, I swear to God, 78.3% of the population should not be allowed to use one. The result of all machines, no humans? Extremely long lines as people struggle to figure out "hmm which side should I be swiping on this Depends package?" Don't get me wrong--sometimes I like the fact that it's all machines, such as when I'm buying 4 boxes of Milk Duds and a jumbo-size thing of Twizzlers. Machines don't give me that judging eye. But it doesn't even seem like CVS is saving money by replacing people with machines. There are still plenty of employees milling around, "supervising" the check-out lines. But doing absolutely nothing. Fail all around, CVS. You get a second star solely because you are on my way to work. read more

Cliff notes: Jacob S in the pharmacy is really awesome. Unabridged version: I love vaccinations as much as anyone, so I'm always looking to blow some cash and get stabbed with a needle. This CVS is right by my office, making it my daily stop for energy drinks and such. Two months ago I lost Car vs Bicycle 1 and ended up in the ER. I told them I wasn't sure when my last tetanus shot was, but I thought maybe 2012. They just kind of shrugged it off like "meh, tetanus is no big deal" and didn't vaccinate me (in reality, it just probably didn't get communicated that I might need the vaccine). Although I had two fractures, I had very little road rash, so I didn't worry about it. Fast forward to this weekend, and I lost Car vs Bicycle 2. Although this crash was minor, I have pretty nasty road rash. Since I know how to properly care for these injuries I didn't see any reason to wait in the ER and cost my insurance company another $10,000. However, due to the dirty road rash, I figured I was better safe than sorry with regards to an updated tetanus vaccine. Shots are overblown in the minds of many, typically just a sharp pinch and some burning. I was fortunate to have Jacob S. as my pharmacist, who administered my Tdap vaccine. He was very friendly and had a solid sense of humor. I'm not sure if he's a witch doctor or something, but I didn't even feel the vaccine. There's probably a technique where you stab faster and push the plunger faster, but whatever it is he has mastered it and for all you sissies that can't stand shots, he is the guy to see. read more

3 stars because the pharmacy is spectacular. I'd give just the pharmacy 5 if I could. Pharmacists are super helpful- and every time I go in, they try to find ways to save money (like when I found out my perscription prenatals were going to cost me $99/mo out of pocket- they found me a great OTC one - and found suppliments to make it the equivalant of the perscription). There have been other similar instances as well. I cannot in good faith give the rest of the store any stars. Management is horrible. Don't bother printing pictures there (they printed 5x7s on 8x10 paper and I just had to cut them down myself). Self check out really is the only option for the majority of the day. And the machines are always broken. And it's a pain to get someone to help you with them. read more

I was in this CVS about 3 days ago and a guy walked out with a backpack full of $80 face creams. We told the elderly woman behind the counter that he just stole a bunch of stuff and she morphed her perma-scowl in a slight smile and she shrugged. So I'm giving this CVS one more star because their employees are fully committed to not giving a f*** on a regular basis. That commitment deserves an extra star. I have been going to this CVS for a long time. But I will consider changing pharmacy. The new pharmacist named Casey is not helpful and very condescending. I wasted 30 minutes here not being provided with any services at all. I've been getting the same prescription from this pharmacy, Casey still told me to call the clinic which I did, the clinic gave approval but I wasn't given my prescription and had to run to another pharmacy. read more

The only reason that this CVS is getting a star knocked off is because they have sort of limited hours, especially on the weekends, so I am rethinking this as being a good idea for a pharmacy or for other drugstore/convenience store type needs - I once came by on a Saturday night hoping to pick up ice cream to bring to someone's house for dessert, and at 8:00 it was closed! I was shocked! However, its a really nice drugstore- a lot nicer than Walgreen's in general (although I love Walgreen's too, CVS just has a nicer layout) What makes this place stand out to me enough to bother with a review is that their phramacy staff is super helpful. The most recent example is that I order ed a refill online, and they called me to let me know it was too early to do that. Maybe this isn't extraordinary, but they also made an additional follow up call to remind me that the prescription expires on a certain date and to let me know I should make sure to refill between these dates. I thought that was above and beyond, I wouldn't have expected that attention from a pharmacy. I would feel bad leaving, even though the hours sometimes just don't work for me. OOOH an extra bonus as of Nov. 8- last night I went in thinking "Maybe they'll have Christmas peeps already." My secretary LOVES peeps and I do my best to keep her happy :) They had them! Yah! I keep walking in here and walking back out without buying what I wanted to buy. Long lines of people trying to use the BS Self Check out... Self check outs should be an option -- not the only choice. The times I've actually used the thing it locks up and an attendant has to come over anyway... The amount of money CVS thinks it is saving with these things is being lost in customer loyalty. Given the choice I will pass by CVS so I don't have to stress out just buying a bag of ice.
