I have lived in 14 zip codes, bi-coast and Midwest. CVS is the pharmacy I go to in my neighborhood. This CVS is the branch that I had the best experience with: picking up medications, taking vaccine shots, etc. The staff members always try their best to keep the waiting line short and waiting time at minimum. I was recently traveling overseas and found I did not bring a vaccination record with me. I called this CVS, their staff member put up a record for me while we talking online, and delivered it to my gmail, in no time! read more

The pharmacy here has really gone downhill. I have a prescription that I've tried to get filled 4 times. Each time the prescription just goes back to being 'ready to refill'. I called and they said they'd have it done in half an hour, but when I went in not only wasn't it ready, but they refused to even deal with it because of their afternoon break. Calls to the pharmacy take up to an hour to be answered. The line for the pharmacy can be up to 30 people, with only 1 person helping customers. I don't know why CVS wants this pharmacy to fail so badly. It's sad that they aren't willing to pay for a couple of extra people in the pharmacy, and would rather have customers leave them. read more

Has CVS forgotten that the "V" in their name is supposed to stand for "Value?" I went through aisle after aisle looking at prices, some of which - for non-medical stuff like cereal - were almost twice the price you might pay elsewhere. A lot of other items start approaching being reasonably priced if you buy according to their sales, or if you use the discounts from your receipts for future purchases - if you're not saving them to insulate or paper your walls at home. And who doesn't come to CVS to buy their overpriced Hello Kitty sculpted ceramic mug?? I am also beginning to suspect their choice of dark grey carpeting is to conceal the dirt - it certainly doesn't conceal the large plastic bags on the floor. Perhaps that person doing the greeting/thanking near the door could use better time management skills to sweep. read more

The CVS on high Street in Medford Massachusetts has the poorest customer service I have ever encountered. I received a text message last week asking if I wanted a specific prescription refilled. I called and could not talk to the pharmacist to check on which prescription it was but they suggested I leave my phone number and they would call me back within 24 hours. It is now been one week and I have not received a call back, but I have received two follow-up texts on that prescription. Today I called and try to talk to the pharmacist and was again told that I had to leave a phone number and they would call me back. I'm going to look into Walgreens for my prescriptions. read more

Long lines, weird ever-changing hours, prescription delays. The only reason I've been using this ridiculous place is because I get discounts through my employer, but this morning I decided that enough is enough and called the Belmont Pharmacy down the street. They told me I couldn't transfer my prescription from CVS because they can't get through to the CVS pharmacy over the phone! It's true; the CVS staff now routinely ignore phone calls...I've heard their little caller ID announce "17 pharmacy calls...18 pharmacy calls..." and counting. Clearly, draconian management practices and staffing shortages (understandable! Who in their right mind would work for this place!) have brought this establishment to its knees. read more

My doctor submitted a prescription on 18-Dec-2023 -- plenty of time to fill by 31-Dec-2023, when I actually need the medication. The CVS robot says that the prescription is "delayed", presumably because of supply-chain issues. I can find NO mechanism to actually speak to a human at the pharmacy. This is astonishing, because while I'm standing in line for a pickup (as I always have to do), I see and hear that the pharmacists are always on the phone with several calls waiting. It is not unreasonable for me to want to speak to a human about a prescription that is already delayed. I'd like to know things like whether this is likely to be filled in the next 2 hours. It's Thursday afternoon, and if CVS can't fill it by Sunday then I'll have to have my doctor cancel the prescription with CVS and send it elsewhere. This is just nonsense. No matter what I do, I'm opted into auto refills and proactive refill requests every time I pick something up. They don't even ask anymore at the desk, they just sign you up even if you make it very clear you don't want them to contact your doctor EVER. To make it worse, this location RARELY picks up the phone, forcing you to go in to cancel refills and cancel the insurance claim. It's infuriating to have your insurance deny your claim because they think you're trying to fill something twice, when it's just CVS being deceptive. read more

This place is criminally understaffed, and the staff that is there has to deal with the rude and aggressive behavior of customers who don't get their prescriptions on time or have to wait in long lines. The staff itself is great but they are set up for failure. They don't have time to answer the phones, they are scrambling to fill orders while the lines back up. THIS CVS IS THE MOST FRUSTRATING PHARMACY I HAVE EVER HAD TO WORK WITH!!!! Every month when I have to call to refill a medication that I have been on for 6 months at this point they tell me that they cannot fill it in the allotted time that I need the medication. Recently they switched to an automated voicemail system where you do not get put on hold but rather have to leave a voicemail to speak to a real person. Then once you do that person is incredibly unhelpful. They also will not let you speak to the main pharmacist when you ask. Specifically if Mohammed picks up the phone just end the call as he is useless and will blame the process of your prescription not being filled on you and your prescriber. I explained to him that me and my prescriber have told CVS time and time again that my medication needs to be filled every 3 weeks and how my insurance has approved of this in the past. Mohammad was telling me over and over that I was wrong and also continued to interrupt me when I was speaking that in order to get a word in I had to basically yell into the phone to have him listen to me. This whole pharmacy is flawed. They won't fill it over the phone and then when you go to the drop off window they also do not process anything quickly often leaving you waiting for over an hour. It's frankly the worst pharmacy. If you can help it and go elsewhere I would. I unfortunately cannot as it is the closest to where I live. read more

When I went in to CVS this afternoon to check on a product, the nice sales associate who usually helps me said he had to ask the manager. The manager came over to the shelf which usually houses the item and said, "I don't know. I don't order the stuff." With that he walked away in a huff. It was clear that he couldn't care less. And with attitude he shouldn't be manager or even sales associate. As I really need the product, I ordered it online from Target. They are helpful and treat customers with respect. read more

This CVS gets ONE STAR, & that lonely little star goes to a really fantastic overnight pharmacist. I wish I'd kept my daughter's empty amoxicillin jars just so that I could go back, find his name, & publicly sing his praises. As for the store staff: NOPE. Can't NOPE hard enough. NOPE, NOPE, and *NOPE.* If you need medication in the dead of night, sure: come here, go straight back to the pharmacy, hope that that one guy who gave me gooey pink antibiotics is on duty, & do not talk to *anyone* at the front counter. Just don't do it. If you do need to ask anything of anyone at the front--or (god forbid) purchase something--you will regret it. This store offers some of the most consistently abysmal customer service I've encountered anywhere. You want sanctimony with your purchase? You've got it. You want simultaneous condescension *and* ineptitude while you're trying to print photos? You're in luck! You want to be bitched out by a cashier _for politely waiting in line_ while the previous customer gathers their stuff? Boy, have I got the store for you! And then, just to do you a favor, the cashier will bitch you out for the look you had on your (silent) face while she was bitching you out about waiting next to the sign that says, "Wait here." I used to work retail myself, so it's not like I have crazy expectations about how interactions with low-wage hourly workers are going to go--and yet, at Porter Sq CVS, I consistently find myself tempted to ask, "What the actual f*ck is wrong with you?" as I pick my jaw up off the floor. When there are THIS MANY employees who are THIS AWFUL at being even baseline civil, you know something's gone wrong at the management level. I had a HORRIBLE experience with the minute clinic nurse today (short, blue eyes and blonde hair- I didn't get her name). I had scheduled an appointment at 10:10 am because I am currently sick and in need of medication. She told me she couldn't take care of me and that I should look at other pharmacies nearby since she was busy and needed some space! I had spent 20 dollars on an uber there and it was ridiculous. Definitely DO NOT recommend going there. Spare your time and money and get an appointment somewhere else. read more

5 stars for the retail side of the business as they have stellar helpful staff who are proactive in making sure the customer has what s/he needs. I love CVS for my shopping needs. 1-2 stars for their pharmacy where I've almost exclusively had surly abrupt staff experiences. You can stand at the appropriate station waiting and the staff won't make eye contact for minutes, no acknowledgement or , "we'll we right with you" - nothing. Which makes folks in line anxious that they are in the wrong line since there are different lines. Maybe your day would be better if you were kind to people who may be having health issues? The pharmacy needs to remember they are a care team and the public are them as an extension of their healthcare provider services. I really like this cvs. It is conveniently located in the Porter Square shopping center, so I can hit this, Star, Michaels, Cambridge Naturals, Target, and even the gym if I want. Then when I am done, it is on a block walk to either the red line on the 87 bus home And they are open 24 hours. I don't mean just the store is open 24 hours, but the pharmacy is too. I think only 3 or 4 other CVSes in the greater Boston area have that. And since I am a night owl, I don't mind going late in the evening and avoiding lines. read more

Constantly running out of my prescriptions with no notification. The best part is when they tell me, they'll have it on such and such date...then they don't. Ever. Until I show up and it is magically "expedited" in one minute. I don't know what is happening with CVS or this store in particular, but just today this happened again and while there, 3 other customers were being told their prescriptions were also out. Just doesn't make any sense. I can't afford to miss my medications- I am transitioning to mail-order through insurance. I have also had much better overall experiences at Walgreens. Also, their staff (definitely several in the pharmacy and some up front) really have terrible customer service and behave quite inappropriately. read more

If you need passport photos quick, this is the place to be. Susana who is an employee there, she helped me (went above and beyond her duty). She took my picture, uploaded it in the machine (this machine is amazing and it tells you that it "passed"), and then voila! You even have the option to pick the shot/picture you liked the most! Instant U.S. passport-ready pictures in a few minutes. I also got lucky that it was not as busy. The cost was about $13.80 for two 2 x 2 size pictures. I've always returned to the right place for my passport pictures. They never disappoint;). I had mailed my U.S. passport the same day (for renewal) after my pictures were taken. Always problems and always unprofessional. The pharmacy is the worst of the worst. They always make mistakes. When there are any questions they always defer to the help line. If the employees do not know CVS products, services, and policies what are they getting paid for? Then to add insult to injury they advertise the pharmacy as open 24 hours/day. On the app and all posted hours this is advertised. Go in there and they are closed from 1:30pm-2pm everyday. These hours are not posted in the store either. Talked to the OperationsManager and all he had to say was that there were signs and sorry. He was wron g and I pointed it out, and he became rude and defensive and said "Get out of here buddy" after I walked away and was walking out the door. Later when I called to talk to a manager he was the only manager available and he said his behavior. He went as far as to call me names. Stay away from this place at all costs. They do not respond to their surveys they give they say are important. They simply do not care from low level employee to managers. The one thing I can say positive about this location is that they do have 2 employees that seem on the Autism Spectrum, which is great, but if all standards for operating a store are neglected then this doesn't matter much. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. The pharmacy has completely messed up a time sensitize prescription. I have been using them for seven years but will switch everything to Walgreens due to their incompetence. First, I called a few days before I would run out of my medication and was told it would be ready in a few hours. I never received a text, which I always do, so I called back and the system said it was processing it. Still no text, so I call back and wait on hold for an hour and fifteen minutes, with no one every answering the phone. Then I receive a text that the medicine is ready and I go to pick it up and instead I am told that it was transferred to Walgreens, as per my request. I did request the transfer, but after I received the text. Just now I went to Walgreens to get my medicine and I was told CVS never transferred it. I am leaving for a trip tomorrow and now may not have my medication due to the incompetence of this CVS. read more

For the most part, I like this CVS. It's 24 hours, which is great when I flip out that my hair is too dark and need to buy some blonde-in-the-box (sorry to my stylist, but this only happened once...and I admitted it to her), or if you need to pick up your prescription at like 3 am. Both the main store register staff and the pharmacy folks are friendly enough, and manage the obnoxious bureaucracy that is health insurance policy pretty well. Plus, I always get some kind of CVS card coupon that I crumple up and keep in my wallet and forget to use until it expires. There's a parking lot, too. read more

My CVS experiences at CVS have been nearly completely unremarkable. I say nearly because goddamn, you come in to buy contact solution & then your credit card statement just racked up an additional $50 charge for other BS you just realized you need. Not the point. This CVS is typical--it's well-stocked, organized, "clean", & illuminated like every other CVS. 5 stars goes to the stellar pharmacy department. I try to do the right thing by getting a flu shot. Signed up on the kiosk, it estimated over three hour wait., So I went out to eat something. I got some confusing text at rest right back and just waited and waited I was on the display as a next patient and then I was on the display is the second to next patient... Then I was not on the display at all. It was confusing because they were two lines for flu shots, no one knew where to stand what was going on... Finally they just canceled my appointment. Went to a minute clinic with sore throat symptoms and Minute clinic staff did not diagnose or treated me, did not even look at my throat!!!! Then went to an Urgent Care place and was diagnosed and treated. I am fighting the charges and CVS refuses to accept my dispute. I was told that I signed the consent to be responsible for charges and treatment. Except...I was not diagnosed nor treated, so why should I pay??? I should only pay for the work performed, lab test. Been here a handful of times. Its open 24 hours. They have self checkout. Food, chips, ice cream, and all the other usual CVS stuff. Some weird people come in and out. There is usually a cop car in the parking lot. And at night you have to use the north entrance. So not the entrance closest to the train station. Store - great. Clean, well stocked, easy to find things. Read your receipt and use the coupons - there are some good ones. Location easy to get to. Open 24 hours. Pharmacy - staff are polite and professional, but often can't find all of my prescriptions when I come to pick them up. Even if the online system says your prescriptions are ready for pickup, call first (and be prepared to sit on Hold for a long time). Sometimes only some of them are ready, sometimes one is misfiled, and I've even had one "sent back" (???) because I didn't pick it up within a set number of days. Very disorganized, and long waits are common. My impression is that this pharmacy is woefully understaffed, and their computer system prone to inconsistencies. Also, this location is overrun with rude, hyperentitled Cambridge jerks who unabashedly cut line, often by starting a second line (and play dumb when you call them on it, because, after all, there are two windows open). Or they just step in front of you when you stand far enough back to respect other customers' privacy, because "they're in a hurry" (as if you don't have a train to catch too). Be prepared to stand up to them or wait another 20 minutes (or both, as peasants like you should know their place and defer to more important people.) read more

Multiple times I have made a point to call the pharmacy and ask if my prescription is ready. Each time they say it will be ready in 30 minutes, and I tell them that's great and I will be there in hour or two. When I arrive it is NEVER ready. I am told to wait 5 minutes and end up waiting at least 30 minutes. I am understanding and would not be upset if told upfront the true wait time, or even if I was treated with the absolute baseline of kindness that one expects as a customer. I really would love for the pharmacists so take a more customer-centric approach..I know others who feel the same. read more

Worst experience ever with Minute clinic... I think the nurses here have little very poor work ethics. This review is only for minute clinic, not the other staff members, some of whom are great. I needed minute clinic for immigration purpose only, and it's a 2 visit test. During my 1st visit, the nurse took exceptionally long time with the patient ahead of me, maybe she was chit chatting with her. She opened the room only after I knocked the door. I personally felt it was unprofessional of me to knock on the door. Also, she was suppose to make a follow-up appointment for 2nd visit, which she did not do (as I learned later). 2nd visit, the nurse closed the appointment at 6:15 pm itself, whereas the stores are suppose to stay open till 7 pm. There are just too many unsaid rules here, like you must knock on the door to register, come 45 minutes early but still reservations can be closed. Also, nobody informed me that 2nd continuation visit can be performed at other CVS store. I wish if Management makes notice & improve CVS service. read more

I Loathe this place. Loathe it Loathe it Loathe it so much that I have to use capital Ls for every Loathe. It's open 24 hours a day which is good if you work nights, are getting a script filled right after an ER visit, or just plain forgot to refill your meds. But practically every time I have gotten a script filled, it's been messed up, they've ignored my doctor's request not to substitute, the lines are outrageous, and I cannot even begin to count the amount of times that I called in a script to be ready by X time, and when I've shown up to get it, it's not ready, been lost, whatever. I also cannot count the amount of people I've seen break down in tears because they've lost a script that was faxed into the pharmacy from their doctor's office, and it's now past 5pm and impossible to reach the prescribing doctor...and those people have always been met with indifference or apathy. In general the staff there seems rude and indifferent pretty much starting from the cashiers and going all the way up to the managers. These are not the type of people I want to put my health into the hands of! I mean, I am fairly aggressive and willing to stand up for myself when there is a problem, but I shudder to think about people who are not such self advocates or just instantly trust anyone wearing a labcoat. Also, there have been times where I've asked the pharmacist about any risks with drug interactions, my health condition, over the counter supplements, and have gotten inadequate answers. I've since switched all my scripts over to the Watertown branch and have been far, far, far happier. The only potential saving grace this disaster of a pharmacy has is that they have a decent cosmetics aisle. Other than that, they can suck it. read more

Particularly rude male Pharmacist working on the overnight shift. Has a particular problem releasing some prescribed medications. Also the only pharmacist that charges for a bag to carry medications. Although I have complained to the pharmacy manager there has been no change. I was told that some of the pharmacists have a problem releasing prescribed controlled substances and the pharmacy did nor understand the reason why. I would change pharmacies but this is the only one in the area open 24 hours and the overnight hours are often the most convenient for my schedule. read more

I used to say I would usually avoid this place but go there when I need to. Now, I just plain refuse to go there. The cashiers are often very rude. I've had them stop me and demand to search my bag when I was walking from the register to the door. I've had them refuse to sell me things for the marked price, which I believe is illegal in this state. I've had cashiers walk away and ignore me in the middle of checking out my order to take a phone call, and then get really nasty at me when I pointed out to them that I'd like very much if they'd please finish ringing up my purchase. But last time I was there, I had a nasty confrontation with the manager, who for no discernible reason ordered my cashier to cancel my transaction, just as I was actually reaching to pay. He said he would take care of it, and then walked away. When I followed and asked him why I had been singled out for this mistreatment, he told me if I didn't like it I could leave. So I did. Permanently. The staff at the CVS location in Davis Square, in contrast, have always been friendly, cheerful, and efficient. read more

Alright, this is a CVS. I went here a few days ago because I caught the plague during an overseas trip and my chest rattles like a 89 Ford. So, I bought a plethora of items that cannot cure the common cold and went over to the empty self-checkout machine. I scanned all the items and found out that most of them are "Age-restricted" which means that someone needed to verify my ID. I can think of lots better ways to get high rather then chugging Theraflu. But we need to protect the children, so I had to wait. And that was not cool. But this place is open 24 hours, whch is cool. However, for some reason, this parking lot spawns cars as there never seems to be enough spots. Also, the architect of the lot seemed to have owned a Hyundai because the spots are not big enough for normal cars. I have an SUV, and yes I hate the environment and I club seals, but that's not the point. read more

Upping my review based on my experience with the Minute Clinic. I just realized this is my first review in over a month, making me a very bad Yelper and also forcing me to wrack my brains, thinking, "Did I do anything remotely reviewable over the past month???" And then I realize that though there were moments of delight (see reviews to come), I spent a good part of May and June being non-specifically, most generically sick. After seeing my doctor for a variety of other reasons, I asked if there was something that could be done about my sinus pain and other ensuing gross symptoms I won't describe here. She said, more or less, that it was a virus and I should shake it off. After suffering for over two weeks, I couldn't afford to take any more time off from work for being sick or going to the already useless doctor, so I decided to check out the Minute Clinic. Signing in was an easy painless process, with their computerized system that also politely lets you know how many people are already waiting. And yes, be prepared to wait. I brought a good book with me, but ended up having a fun conversation with a similarly sick person next to me about the Tea Party, family planning, and animated movies. I probably waited about an hour and a half, but once the doctor called me in, it went speedily. I described my symptoms to her, and the more I spoke, the more assured she was that I was battling a serious bacterial sinus infection. Since this was my regular CVS, she already had a lot of my information on file, like allergies and existing prescriptions, so hooking me up with the right antibiotic was easy. Overall I was pretty impressed with the Minute Clinic. With my insurance, I only had to pay a $20 co-pay and then for the antibiotics. I think it's pretty affordable even if you don't have insurance. So if you have time to wait and you have some minor illness they can treat - there is a specific list of what they can and cannot treat - this is a good option. read more
