Be aware how easy it is for a pharmacy to skim or even substitute pills in a prescription. I noticed with a refill for pain killers there was no effect. This happened through several cycles. Usually a minimum dose cut the pain and I could sleep, but these did nothing after several doses. I looked at the pills and they looked rough and felt soft. Usually they taste awful, really bitter, but these didn't really taste like anything. Plus they just didn't work. I bet this happens a lot more than people realize. read more

This is the absolute worst pharmacy ever! My vet called in a prescription on the 14th, then CVS tells me the vet declined the refill, what? CVS was supposed to call the vet, gave them the phone number, still no prescription ready. The vet had to call again today and I finally received the prescription around noon. My cat has epilepsy and it's crucial he has his meds daily to avoid seizures. I will now be taking my business elsewhere, as it shouldn't take six days to have a prescription refilled, not to mention the angst of having to call them everyday to make sure they are doing their job. With a position as critical as refilling prescription medicine, please get some competent people that know what they're doing before they hurt someone. read more

I have never had any problems there. For the last 20 years they have always been helpful going out of their way to tell me about on line coupons to help me with the price of a medication. Also asking for ID is the law now with controlled substances . And when they have sales on groceries there is no other great deals. So overall the employees who work there are great at what they do! read more

The pharmacist here was so rude! I asked her the prices of a medication because she said my insurance won't cover it. It took her 10 min of hitting keys and never looking up to tell me that my medication was $850 for a two month supply! Wtf! I had asked my Dr how much it would be if insurance didn't cover it. He told me $250 for a Months supply. I asked if there was anything she can do about the $850. She said looking down once again you can go to the website and download some coupons. I said ok and she darted out like there was a fire. People like that should not speak to humans. Well CVS just know that this pharmacist turned me into online pharmacy person. read more

I am with the previous post. They don't care or have enough people awaiting on the Pharmacy Department. Allot of people have many items to check out plus their pills they should only allow 4 items and your pills. You wait in that line forever. Typical CVS. Personally, I wish it was a Thrifty's, with an ice cream stand in the front like when I was a kid. Oh well. Cheap stuff here, no bathrooms. What bothers me is the way people stand in lines these days. There's always about 10 feet between the person at the counter and the next person. Do we really need that much privacy? Are you waiting for another checker to open up a register and don't want to commit to just one? ATMs are the same way. The pharmacy people are nice and efficient here and they usually have whatever you need drugstore-wise. read more

This CVS is wonderful. The customer service is above and beyond. The seasonal items are always easily found and well stocked, and the lines move quickly here. The best out of all three CVS locations. Wish it was 24 hours! read more

If you don't have to use this pharmacy I wouldn't. They are very slow. I was told my daughters prescription would be done in 15 mins, 2 hours later it's now finally done. If they were just honest and said it would be a few hours it wouldn't be a problem but they aren't and you sit there and wait. Very very frustrating. read more

The only reason they get three stars is because the front of the store is awesome! Always attentive and friendly I use photo dept regularly and sometimes run in for misc items throughout the store. However the pharmacy needs to get it together the customer service is bad. I cringe when I have to go to the drop off window and talk to the pharmacist they talk to you in a very condescending manner. I do no work in the medical, insurance or pharmaceutical field so sometimes have questions and they seem annoyed and bothered by such questions. Sunday was my final straw in dealing with them as I switched to home delivery option with my insurance I am moving soon so for other 1 time pick up meds I will be going to a different location or maybe even a different pharmacy all together. read more

I usually make this my pharmacy of choice. However, the last three times I have been there, they take an incredibly long time to fill our prescription. Today, our doctors office called the prescription in twice and the pharmacy still said they hadn't received it. Turns out, all they had to do was have the tech check in with the pharmacist who took the call and see that it was there. No one bothered to put it in the system and we just kept getting told they didn't have it. My child went most of the day without her medicine until we were able to figure out that the pharmacist didn't bother to do anything with it after taking the call from our doctor. read more

Went in to pick up a few things that I needed in a rush. The shelves were stocked and he employees were nice enough to ask me if I needed help. I appreciate the cashiers multi tasking and getting the line down as quickly as possible. Never have issues when I shop here. read more

I have lived across from this pharmacy for 18 years and have only come here because it's right across the street from where I live. NO MORE!! Every single time I come here, I am disappointed by something. It's either long lines, rude employees or even more annoyingly, today I stood in a long line only to be told that they were out of flu shots and had been for a week. STICK A FORK IN ME!! I usually go to these kind of stores, looking for the little odd things that they, and Thrifty's back in the day, were known to carry. Stuff like nose pads for glasses. CVS never has this stuff. Very generic inventory, but not the usual drug store stuff. I end up going to Rite-Aid - they always carry these little side things. read more

I like this store because it's easy to find stuff when you're in a hurry. I've never had the problems the others mentioned although, I have not used the pharmacy there. By the way if anyone is looking for thrifty ice cream, try Rite-Aid, I don't know if the ones in Camarillo have the ice cream stand at the front but, the ones in Ventura still do. Either way you should be able to purchase the Thrifty brand ice cream in the food section, and it's still good as you remember it. :) read more

Based on the other reviews here and since they are older I have seen a huge difference when I go there. The manager is helpful and the cashiers were actually very quick. CVS just can't get it right? they hired a new pharmacist and she is very rude, her name is JACLYN , the MANAGER of the pharmacy is very nice and caring!! just another bad apple that has no costumer service, and she called me on the phone and told me I was drug abuser!! I walk in too get my prescription ready too pickup and JACLYN and another pharmacy Tech were gossiping about me, I heard and seen them looking over at me so obvious !! Very unprofessional at such a very serious business of work place!!! they loss my business after 10 years at CVS!!! I've been going to CVS in Mission Oaks for 34 years for RX refills. Now, I went in today and was told that I had to show photo I.D. to pick up my RX. I was told that it was their company policy to ensure the right person got the right medication. I didn't see ANY signs or other notifications that this policy was in effect. I guess customers are supposed to keep up on their own on CVS policy changes. Probably, what happened is some Pharm. Tech. in the company gave the wrong RX to someone. Instead of dealing with that one problem, they just make a 'knee jerk' reaction which effects customer service. They are NOT doing me any favors filling my RX's. I can and WILL go somewhere else. I've always given my address and D.O.B. to pick up something but I guess that wasn't enough for their Company. If you are picking up narcotics I could see getting I.D., but just a routine RX it is a joke. I will be transferring ALL of my RX to another pharmacy. I would recommend that EVERYONE take their business elsewhere. read more

Both Mission Oaks and Santa Rosa locations can use serious improvement, but MO location is the worst. We avoid going there except when absolutely necessary, like last night. My 4year needs his meds, SR informed us they didnt have the meds on stock (after an hour and a half later) so the rx was transferred to MO. The rx was faxed thru as I stand watched , with note to fill asap. Knowing how slow their service is, we gave them about another hour and a half before going over. Not surprising, we were told they never got it and will contact SR to refax the rx and fill it while we wait. Forty minutes later, as we know they are closing soon and we still have not been called, we checked back just to be told they couldnt read the fax thus couldnt fill it. We dont understand why they never pick up the phone to ask or let us know before we wasted forty minutes at the store, but it is typical of their services so it was our fault to even bother trying to understand, right? So, MO couldnt reach SR over the phone and told us they will call the next morning. Guess what? You got it. They never did. When I called to check on it two hours after they opened, no one knows what is going on. Needless to say my baby never got the meds he needs. We are very lucky it was not an emergency type situation, or else it could be fatal. read more

Been going to CVS for over 10 years never questioned anything just grabbed my meds and went on my way. Last year my 175 pound English Mastiff was diagnosed with Epilepsy and has to take Phenobarbital (5 tablets of 97.2mgs) and Potassium Bromate daily to keep the cluster seizures away. Our price for a monthly supply was .45 a pill in December 2015. Now its .68 a pill. My wife goes in yesterday to refill and we were shocked to see the dramatic price increase, so she tries to ask what happened between now and Dec. 2015. The clerk kept repeating over and over "well we charge per pill" (thanks Cpt Obvoius), but that's not the worst part. The Pharmacist on duty and staff made my wife feel like a junkie, like we were trying to obtain these drugs for ourselves, even though we have a signed prescription from the vet and have been buying these pills since last March 2015. From research and phone calls the price increase is 100% on CVS, their distributor is increased their pricing to CVS. CVS does not buy directly from the manufacture I found out and furthermore Phenobarbital through Qualitest hasn't had a price increase since last May 2015. I am writing this because the Pharmacist just told me that the increase was due to the manufacture. If you don't know the truth then don't say anything and don't feed me a bunch of garbage. If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. Funny I just switched over to Wallgreen's on all my meds and my personal daily meds went down 15$ a month. read more
