Listen, no one comes on yelp to praise their pharmacy. And people love to complain about it. And sure, when you're sick or your family members are sick, and it's odd hours, you're not happy to be here. So the entire context doesn't give rise to good vibes. We're not reviewing a beer garden, after all. That said, I've been going here for years and think they get unfairly maligned on yelp. Is it difficult or impossible to get through on the phone? Sure. But that's seems more of a corporate and staffing issue that's not unique to this location. If you show up here in person, you typically see the staff busily working and helping customers. They fills scripts in a timely manner, especially when they're critical (e.g., antibiotics), and especially if you show up and ask nicely. If you need a place with great phone availability, this isn't it. But if you need a pharmacy nearby that seems to work diligently and gets scripts right and with some speed, this usually does the trick. read more

Worst CVS EVER!!!! They once left me on hold for over an hour. After 30 minutes I called from another phone, asked for the manager and explained the situation. She promised to go speak to the pharmacy and put me on hold. Another 40 minutes later I abandoned both calls, Just now I showed up to pick up a prescription their automated system told me this AM was ready. They gave it away to someone else. They said they would refill it, and I said I would wait. 30 minutes later I asked if I needed to be standing in line over and over again. They said, "Oh, we forgot to start refilling it because we are low on stock -can't give you a full count." Waiting for them to process it STARTS OVER!!!! read more

I would give a zero if I could. Unfortunately, for convenience, I have been going to this CVS for years. There are a couple of employees who try their best to make it work but alas, there are too many bad employees who are disinterested in the customers. Take today, 4/15/25, for example. I waited in line at the pharmacy (there's always a line there) around 6:30pm to pick up my Rxs. When she finally WHISPERED me up to the counter, ("You can come up now. Yes, you!"). She then asked me to say my entire birthdate out loud. I did. Then she asked me to repeat just the day and month. I did. I also gave her my name and she immediately asked me for my name. Then she asked me what my last name was and my first name. I gave it to her again. She took her time getting my RXs and argued with me over the phrase "a bunch" vs. "three." Okay, I ignored that. Then she handed me the bunch of loose Rx bags. I said, "Please put them all in a bag." CVS is notorious for its thin, undersized bags...but I wanted to consolidate everything. I paid with my card and when the long receipt emerged from the machine, she turned her back and walked away leaving me to detach the receipt and bag everything, which I did. Awkward CVS location in almost every sense of the word. On Arlington just off the intersection with Bradley. Most easy place to park is, alas, across the street but you'll quite literally take your life in your hands crossing over Arlington plus you'll invite the ire of the shopping center owners across the street who post clearly that the small and cramped parking lot is intended for their customers, not CVS's. The few times I've gone in have ranged from a neutral to slightly negative experience. But they are one of the few pharmacies open 24 hours, so that accounts for the 2nd star. read more

Horrible service. Got an alert saying my child's prescription was ready. They gave me an empty bag (without bothering to explain, but evidently the prescription wasn't ready) and told me to wait. Once I got the prescription, I left, only to discover later that it was incorrect. When I called to ask them about it, they put me on hold for almost half an hour until closing time, when they turned off the phones. I have been going to this location for years and have even defended them despite their bad service. But this was a new low. I will not be going back. read more

This location makes no sense. It's located on a very busy corner and parking is extremely limited. I've waited longer for a parking spot than it would've taken me to drive to another CVS. With that being said there is a parking garage but I'm not about to park in a lot just to go to a CVS. One thing that this store has going for it is the staff. Everyone I spoke to were friendly and helpful. Check out could use more employees but in all fairness the self checkouts could and should be utilized more by customers. Overall I had a hard time locating items throughout the store. Some items were located in the wrong section and when I went to pay showed up at different prices. I get that staff can't change the price but it's super frustrating. I wasn't able to find a price scanner but would recommend that they get one. The restroom needed SO much work. It's open to the public but you have to get a key from the pharmacy. However; no one tells you this. I waited for five minutes before a staff member noticed and alerted me to the key. Once inside I finished as quickly as possible before the smell could attach itself to me. This whole bathroom need a bottle of bleach. I honestly don't think I would return to this location. It's not worth the frustration trying to locate a parking spot outside, or trying to find items inside. read more

I had a prescription my wife needed transferred to this location because my regular CVS didn't have it. When I arrived to pick it up it was in some kind of limbo status so this CVS tried to call the other one but no one picked up. The employee then told me that I needed to tell the old pharmacy to do something. So I reached the other pharmacy and they said everything looked fine in the system. The employee would not budge and even refused to speak to the pharmacist from the other CVS. So I left for a while and when I came back the RX was ready. Very strange service. Unfortunately, the corporate approach across multiple CVS stores that I've visited in the northeast is to cut pharmacy hours, understaff the pharmacy, and institutionalize non-answering of phone calls (that I experience both as a healthcare provider and as a consumer). But the head pharmacist (appears he is that) is really rude in my personal experience and in observing his interactions with others. Guess understand they are very busy but a little more compassion towards their customers would be humane, after all they are probably navigating health problems. I hate coming here, always think it's going to be different this time, but it never is. Got a text message yesterday asking me to confirm that I was picking up my prescription, selected that I would be picking it up today. I arrive just after 3:00, wait in line for 26 minutes, and am told there's no record of it being filled and to go wait in the drop off line. Okay, I go wait in drop off line for 13 minutes, second pharmacist doesn't know what happened to the prescription that was under my name but sees that I have a prescription ready for pick up for my dog; says he can have my rx ready in about 20 minutes, at which time I can pick them both up. I take a walk across the street to Breads Unlimited and buy some nice loaves of sourdough before returning to the pick up line. Wait 23 minutes for this pharmacist to now tell me there's no prescription for my dog, just mine. I look over and point to the pharmacist at the drop off counter and inform her that the other pharmacist at the pick up counter sees my dog's prescription in the system. She says she can't fill what's not there (wish I could adequately describe the condescension dripping off her tongue as she rolls her eyes at me and gives me a tight smile). I walk back over to the drop off line, wait another 10 minutes, and inform the pharmacist, same one who told me the dog's rx is in the system and ready, that I was just told there's no record of my dog's prednisone rx. He says, "Hold on", retrieves it from the shelf, and hands it to the obnoxious pharmacist. I ask what the problem was, she says I gave her the wrong name. This is a perfectly reasonable CVS. I come here for my pharmacy and occasionally pick up a thing or two while I'm there. It does that job fine and is close to home. If it wasn't for my experience at other pharmacies in the area being deeply sub-par, that would only net 3 stars, but this is the best one I've found. The parts that don't really work are that I wish the lines at the pharmacy were shorter at times and I wish it had more parking--although they will validate in the parking garage in the corner of their smaller lot when the parking runs out. read more

The worse experience of my life with the pharmacy. Was told the prescription here at 2:50 pm. Came to pick it up ar 7:40 pm. Pharmacist told me she did not have the prescription... pediatrician called and spoke to her over 30 minutes ago. She then proceeded to do three COVID shots and I'm still just waiting here. So awful and disrespectful, especially as I'm waiting for an inhaler for my child. Looking for a new pharmacy and disappointed with this long-time neighborhood pharmacy. read more

Although we live in walking distance to this CVS, we have avoided it for 15 years, opting for the local pharmacy (put out of business by CVS), and then the CVS on Wisconsin (now closed). We've been forced to use this CVS pharmacy with two people in our household who require monthly prescription refills. This should occur like rocket science but there is always a blip. I wait in the long, long pick up line, only to have the person at the register (who has no ability to answer questions) send me to the other long line for the pharmacist. Without fail, the pharmacy is out of our prescription, or it has been put on hold for some reason that nobody can explain. I have never had a pleasant or seamless trip to this pharmacy. I would absolutely not come to the CVS for any type of vaccination. I came here to get my booster shot for Covid and I had the worst experience ever getting a vaccine. I'm not sure if the guy that did my injection was the manager or not and I understand that these pharmacies have a lot of people coming in for vaccinations, however he didn't even warn me when he was about to put the needle in. When he put the needle in my arm was tense because I wasn't prepared to be injected yet and when he injected me I was fixing my position in my chair. I felt that was extremely dangerous, because I work in the medical field and I've never felt so uncomfortable getting an injection. He was absolutely horrible and if he had written his name on my covid card I would have put his name on here. I will never be coming back to this pharmacy. read more

Doctor was on the phone to prescribe a cream and my husband was waiting right there and it was 10 minutes before their closing time, they didnt want to give one simple prescription saying they were closing soon and it was urgent for my toddler! I'm not one to speak well of CVS in general but my most recent experience with this CVS was above average, and I like to give the place positive reinforcement (in hopes that one day they might not, as a rule, suck): On Christmas Eve, when I decided that I most definitely had tonsillitis, I called my physician up and explained the problem. Since I'm somewhat of a professional tonsillitis catcher we agreed that antibiotics were in order. She called CVS at 6 PM that evening, and 20 minutes later the kind salespeople at CVS not only had my script ready, but they were helpful, funny, and OPEN (unlike Giant and Safeway). For the first time since People's was taken over I could honestly say that having CVS around was a good thing. read more

Local, Convenient and Good People! This is our local Bethesda CVS and pharmacy. It is a smaller CVS store but they have the items we need in a pinch. The staff is always helpful and courteous! The pharmacy has been staffed by the same folks for the past 8 plus years. They are truly professional and once they get to know you- treat you like family. You respect them- they respect you! We have all our pharmacy business there and I would not change a thing. To better expedite our needs, we use rapid refill, auto refill and phone refills for easy pick-ups! I would not expect any pharmacy to refill a prescription in 5 minutes per the reviews below. The bonus is that CVS has a private FREE parking lot for easy pop in the store access! read more

The pharmacy at this CVS is the worst and if I could give it 0 stars or frankly less than that I would. They are disorganized and I am not exaggerating when I say I have not once gone to this pharmacy without running into an issue or a mistake they have made. They never have prescriptions ready in time and I always have to wait in a long line only to be told I have to wait longer for them to fill it. Half the prescriptions put in by my doctors somehow never make it into their computer system. One time I went to this pharmacy and was told my prescription was never received and was then told they would send another request to my doctor. I came back 2 days later only to be told that for whatever reason it was on hold and that I had to go talk to someone at a different desk. The person at the other desk then said they never got the prescription. Which one was it?? Was it on hold or did they not have it? They had no explanation for me and denied ever saying they would send or actually sent a request to my doctor. Every single time I go to this place I leave sad, irritable, angry, and above all, deeply disappointed. Never go here. Every single thing about this place is a headache. The pharmacy is slow as molasses...I've seen grass grow faster. The orders at the pharmacy are not only slow, but are also always either wrong or they cannot find the prescription. I have been coming here for 15+ years only because it's a few blocks from my house, but I'm really at the end of my rope with this CVS. Save your time, energy, and sanity and go somewhere else. Don't EVER use this Pharmacy. I would have rated them ZERO STARS but that is impossible on Yelp. Today we filled a prescription for our son. The pharmacist filled the prescription with the generic form of the medication without asking or notifying me and I did not discover this fact until I got home. When we attempted to return the generic medication and have the branded medication dispensed, the pharmacist observed that one of the pills was damaged and accused us of having tampered with the pill even though he had dispensed it that way to begin with and failed to notice the damage. When we assured him we had not touched the pills in any way, he said he was sure the pills were intact when dispensed and basically accused us of lying to him. read more

On the other hand, this location is open 24/7, so if you need something in the middle of the night for yourself or someone else, this is a great place to go. I have been frequenting CVS, Eckerd's, Genovese, Rite Aid, and many other drugstores for a long time. This one is by FAR the best in the DC area. Everyone from cashier, to stock staff, to manager, to pharmacy tech are all so incredibly nice! Service is fantastic and they always go above and beyond. One staff member even saw me in an aisle, I made way for him to get by, instead he turned around (much to my surprise) and 8 seconds later showed up with a basket for my items (a much nicer surprise!). Then he proceeded to joke with me about my ho-humming over which chocolate to get. How nice is it when someone makes you laugh while you're doing something as mundane as shopping? Above and beyond this store. I'd give it 5 stars were it not for the parking. (Parking's tough for such a large store and the popularity of the 24-hour pharmacy.) read more

This location is difficult, as parking is problematic, waits can be long, and the staff can be indifferent. This is no longer a 24 hour pharmacy, which is not clearly stated or updated on the internet, and is sorely needed closer to the closet 24 hour pharmacy. I did have excellent customer service at their old location at the corner of Bradley and Wisconsin and I visited that store often. I am waiting for the small location in Target to close, as it doesn't get much traffic and the hours are too short for me to use it. That said, I did recently call and a staff member patiently sorted through the prescriptions that were ready for me for pick up (the automatic re-fill is a bit too aggressive - it seems to occur even when I ask for it to stop). read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this location at all costs. The location itself is at the busy corner of Arlington Rd and Bradley Blvd. There is almost always a truck parked infront blocking the right lane. Parking is ridiculous. There is limited parking, so there is always a line of cars, barely enough space if you want to pass through and leave all together, and let's not forget how great Bethesda drives are. It is also a one way entrance so once you get trapped moving forward and a car gets out behind you, chances are you won't get that spot because someone else is also waiting. The store itself is like any other CVS. This location's pharmacy is the prime reason this location is overly crowded. There is ALWAYS a line. You are always waiting. Pass! read more

This CVS is conveniently located and as such needs to be well organized and staffed to accommodate its popularity. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Staff is friendly, but mismanaged. There are long lines at the Pharmacy with only one cashier. In addition, customers tend to check out with whole basket loads so those just wanting to pick up are left waiting for sometimes 20 minutes plus waiting to get their one item. There are two cashiers and two self-service lines up front. Why not just use the pharmacy registers for pharmacy? I beg you! With a little customer service and good management, it would be so much better. Here's hoping they get a clue. read more

I come in to use the money gram and there was closed signs flipped up on all the stations so I figure there back up and running didn't work went to wait in a long long line ( at least 4 people) because I know when you send money you have to pretty much do everything from the money gram station then go to the clerk to give or receive money.the guy who directs people to the self check out asked us to move to self check out I told him I was waiting in this line to use money gram and loud enough for people to under stand. A horrible pharmacy. I needed meds right away for my daughter that had been called in a day in advance. The pharmacists were not helpful, their system was down all day and they could not find the prescription. How are you supposed to serve your clients adequately in their time of medical need. Lit signs outside clearly scream "24 hour pharmacy" but after parking and walking to the back pharmacy all service windows closed at 9:20. Three of us were there with prescriptions shaking our heads.
