I had a very disturbing experience at this CVS location. I attempted to use the self-checkout three separate times to scan my items (I only had three items total), but the scanner was not working properly. The cashier was busy at the front with a long line, so I tried again as instructed. Instead of calmly assisting me, she called someone from the back named Steve, who came out and immediately stood directly over me while I scanned my items. He was an extremely large man -- at least 6'3" and around 300 pounds -- and his presence felt intimidating and unnecessary, especially given the situation. He implied that I had not scanned an item, yet when he rescanned it himself, it scanned just fine. No apology was offered. What made this situation even more upsetting is that I had been waiting patiently while the cashier took an extended amount of time assisting two other customers, yet I was singled out and treated as suspicious. As a Black woman, this felt like clear racial profiling and intimidation. I did nothing wrong. I was attempting to pay. Being treated like a criminal over a malfunctioning self-checkout was humiliating and unacceptable. I will not be returning to this location, and I strongly advise others -- especially Black customers -- to be cautious. read more

The pharmacist argued with me about filling my script said it was too early even though the date was not. Then he overheard me say after he supposedly hung up that he was an a**hole. He called me back 3 TIMES to say he overheard me and would now make me wait until the day of to fill my scripts, which he has done now repeatedly. He kept asking me "do you know who I am? I am the pharmacist! I don't have fill your scripts, I can make you wait for as long as I want!" Other pharmacists there fill the scripts and wonder why it is being held up. He is extremely rude and was so BEFORE I said what I said and I stand by what I said. He's terrible, petty and needs to go somewhere else, he makes the store look bad. read more

The cashier that was checking me out at the pharmacy was less than pleasant when I arrived to pick up my RX. Then, after she gathered the RX, while I was standing there to pay, she took off her film that she had on her fresh tattoo, while I was standing right there. She placed the film she took off the tattoo to the side, by her phone, which she had to touch as well. I could not imagine how a immunocompromised person would have felt about this as it was unacceptable. This is not appropriate behavior for someone working at a pharmacy. read more

On October 6, 2022, at about 6:30 PM I stopped at the Oak Park, Michigan 9 Mile and Coolidge location on the way home-- taking my wife from her recent hospital surgery. At that time I was told by the pharmacy tech that 1. They would not fill her antibiotic script that day or evening, because they were too busy, and 2. They were unable to fill the 5 oxycodone pills script because CVS does not stock that product at that location. I therefore went to the Berkeley, Michigan location, where I dropped off the scripts, and we were texted they were ready. On arrival, I was told the pharmacist was refusing the oxy script because we normally go to the 9 and Coolidge location. She also claimed, inaccurately, that she called my wife's phone twice to inform her of this. Except my wife's number is a smart phone, and no calls came in. She did tell me the 9 Mile location has the product. So therefore either the tech or the pharmacist engaged in deliberate misrepresentations to us. It is disconcerting to discover that the people we trust to fill medication for us are liars. read more

NEVER GET YOUR PHOTOS DONE HERE! I used disposable cameras at my wedding to have some fun pictures captured throughout the night. I paid for 10 of them to be developed. I get the pictures back with the disks and the pictures had finger prints on them and the exposure was done incorrectly. You can see that there's a line in a lot of the pictures too where there are two pictures on one photo. This is the only thing I have and now I have nothing from my wedding day. Never get your photos done here. So messed up. read more

i called first time to see if my prescription was ready. I was told it was placed on hold because they didn't have my insurance information. I asked why they wouldn't fill it anyway and get my insurance info when I got there. After some discussion they said they would fill it and get my info when I got there. Today I stopped in to pick up the prescription and was told it's on hold? They didn't know why. So after more discussion I left my insurance info and was told to come back after 2:00. I stopped back at 3:10 and guess what. I was told it's on hold. They are sooooo busy they couldn't get to it. Yes I transferred my script to Meijer with no issues. Absolute worst. I tried three times to send in a refill for my skin medicine, and every time I called they said "we are trying to contact your provider you need to call them." Called my doctor, they say "we sent that refill in weeks ago there are four available." Call CVS back and this time they say "Oh well yeah there is but we wanted to know if they wanted to do 90 day supply instead." I've been without my medication for no reason? Because you want to ask a question about a refill that already exists that you claim you can't fill? read more

My family usually loves to come to this CVS, but we experienced terrible service by Kathryn as she was checking us out. My mother wanted to use a coupon on our purchases and she complained and accused us of taking photos of her (which was not the case at all). Extremely disappointed by the customer service of this employee since we have experienced pleasant services from other employees. We wanted to speak to her manager but she turned silent. She definitely needs to be retrained or taught in some manner to be kind to customers instead of complaining and threatening them. read more

This store has been one of the most difficult to deal with as of recent. I switched from the Oak Park store due to similar issues and it's been constant disappointment. At one point I used a different pharmacy but had to pay more for prescriptions so I went back to CVS. The staff is clearly overwhelmed with too much work. I've been hung up on several times after being placed on hold by the automated system for over 15-20 mins at a time. Having to take meds or get them for family is difficult enough as it is and then to have to deal with poor service where you get you meds from puts the icing on the cake. Currently on the phone with the corporate office to complain! This is unacceptable read more

When I entered the store it was clean and well stocked. They even have a functioning photo center to quickly and easily make physical photos and passport photos. I signed up for the CVS Carepass and saved a lot of money on medicine and health items I couldn't find elsewhere. Everyone was nice and polite and friendly. It seems to me the negative reviews are about instances where people are having a bad day or they're simply trolls. People should be more graceful with retail people as it's a high stress low financial reward job. read more

Waiting six days for a prescription to be filled for a medication I take every day. Last straw.

This is my go-to pharmacy in the neighborhood. Good location but it can be challenging to get in and out of the parking lot here. The pharmacy here is awesome and the staff is really great. Always helpful and quick to answer your questions. The biggest complaint is that the store has always got an incredibly long line at the front counter. Like - "never mind, I didn't need it that bad, I'll go somewhere else" long line. It's always been like this and it never seems to get fixed. Please - someone from CVS read this and address this issue! read more

I've been using this location for my prescriptions for the past few months since I've recently moved to the area. I am always waiting in a long line at the pharmacy window, which seems to be a trend based on other reviews. Tonight I went to urgent care after work and left with a prescription that I wanted to fill on my way home. I checked pharmacy hours on Google which stated they were open until 10. When I got there at 8:30 I was told they cannot fill it tonight because they close in 30 minutes and they were the only two working. I was the only person in line... I had a previous encounter at the same pharmacy where they did not have a prescription in stock and said they would notify me when it came in. I got the notification 2 weeks later when I was feeling better. Overall a bad impression. read more

RX staff is horrible. Filled a script today and it was the last straw. I use GoodRx to reduce the cost of my scripts (like any smart consumer should do with an HSA plan)... and was told I can't use them because they have to use the insurance on file....which will not allow use of coupon. This is NOT true at all. The "manager" said it was "her" pharmacy and she has her own rules. Money grab. Horrible and lazy. Was so hard for her to rebill to cash. Wake up. Went to get a prescription filled and they didn't have it in stock which is very typical for them. Then I went to purchase a $10 curling iron to find that it was locked and I would have to get customer service to unlock it, Which is way too much of an inconvenience to me to bother so I dropped it. Unfortunately the CVS seems to not want my money. what exactly is the purpose of shopping here? Snapshot: Come for the cleanliness, but expect to stay at the understaffed registers. A fresh facade and a tidy, clean layout gives this Berkley outpost of the CVS empire more visual appeal than other area pharmacies. Enjoy traipsing through orderly aisles with most everything where you can expect it to be, because that will be your consolation while you wait in line later. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Pharmacy service is surprisingly thorough, and the pharmacists go out of their way to confirm prescriptions and handle insurance/prescription company issues. Have a conflict? The pharmacists play phone tag and negotiate the labyrinth of weird rules. They also provide valuable advice if you should have any questions. Four stars for the really nice service, which beats impersonal refills and annoyed grumps by a country mile. Its downsides are limited hours (closing at 10 PM, instead of 24 hour service like Ferndale's CVSes) and chronically understaffed cash registers. Never more than two employees man the check outs, even when long line-ups curl halfway back to the pharmacy. No amount of harrumphing or wearily shifting as you juggle a package of batteries, three prescriptions, a few bottles of shampoo, and the box of Band-Aids you needed in both hands speeds up the process. It's as though CVS occupies a time vortex where minutes stretch out, and the perceived rate of time accelerates by a magnitude. read more

First, this is a very clean, new store. Its very convenient to run in and pick up a gallon of milk or some toothpaste... but prepared to wait. There is always a long line of impatient people. However, its hard to blame them for their impatience when every time you come into that CVS there is maybe 1.... if you're lucky, 2... registers going. The pharmacy isn't much better. They tell you it will be 10 minutes, then after 30 minutes of browsing shampoo, magazines and vitamins.. you start to get a bit irritated at the wait. read more

And I prefer CVS, but not this one. * Their customer service is non-existent. ** Their app and refill system doesn't work. *** The Rx staff is rude. The parking lot is a little awkward shaped, and too small in my opinion. The outside of the store looks a lot nicer than normal CVS's. It's glass and modern looking. The inside is really clean, well stocked, and organized. I went in purely to return bottles. This is not really a fun task as it is, but the machine they have is horrible. It's slow, you HAVE to put the bar code facing up, otherwise it spits it back out to you. It wouldn't take a lot of the fancier type beers (that Meijer etc would have taken) and the worst of all, the machine has this little slot that closes after you put the bottle in there. The little slot that goes over almost caught my fingers a few times! Now I'm a grown adult, who was paying attention and trying to follow this stupid machines rules, and I still felt like I was going to get my finger chopped off by it. In the middle, the bin was full and I had to go get a staff member to 'shake the bin' to make room. She was very friendly, prompt and took care of it. I have no issues with the staff, or the lines that other people are mentioning. But I would NOT recommend going here to return bottles. You will most likely lose a finger, and not be able to return half the bottles you set out to return in the first place. read more

The pharmacy is consistently slow-even to the point of losing or not filling my prescriptions when I have received notice they are ready for pickup. Either they have an issue with communication with my doctor or the text messages are sent incorrectly. It has happened at least a dozen times. The staff are apologetic but behind the counter is openly disorganized. The lines are slow with just a few people but there is absolutely no hustle when the lines are long-especially when you are there because you are sick or in pain! read more

There are constantly long waits and one register open. My boyfriend actually refuses to go here anymore because he can't stand the 10-15 minute wait for two items. It's actually almost easier to drive five miles out of my way then to attempt a quick stop here. Went to return bottles today; huge mistake. The machine basically closes a door on your hand after EVERY SINGLE BOTTLE. Nearly every bottle I put in was rejected multiple times before being accepted. I typically find the staff to be unfriendly but, I will say today I did have encounter one friendly employee. I've gone here multiple times before for things like cheese, sour cream, aluminum foil, and I'm not sure why I've continued to go back. These common items and usually out of stock or near expiration. I wish I could say better things about the location but it's lacking, to say the least. read more

I used to live right behind this store so coincidentally i was there very often because of its convenience. It's one of the biggest CVS stores that I have ever been to. It's very clean, bright and usually fully stocked. The prices are just like any other CVS in the area. You can find cheaper deals at Target or Meijer, but that's true for anywhere. I feel like every time that I go here, however, so does everyone else. So, I always end up waiting in line with one or two registers open. But, once I do begin to be checked out, the cashiers usually apologize and are very friendly. read more

The coupons only help lower their price a little! I wish they would lower their prices and get rid of the coupons. Can I give this no stars!? Obviously the people running it don't care about the customers well being. Every time I go there, its always a long line for 10 minutes. I just need one thing and I have to wait 10 minutes due to a combination of people working there (that look like there on a work release program) and customers that dont know what day it is! Typical experience. You get what you need then you go in line where theres 5 people in front of you and some cashier guy whose just slow and doesn't realize there is a wait. My Doctor e/sent 5 RX, all for 90 day supply, I picked them up and counted that there were indeed 5 RX in the bag, however, when I got home, one of the RX was only filled with a 30 day supply. Holy crap... I had to call the store, wait for them to find THEIR error, they told me to come back so they could correct THEIR problem. When I did go back, they insisted that I RETURN THEIR ERROR of the 30 pills and then they would give me the CORRECT RX of 90 pills, they insisted that I had to return the 30 instead of just giving me 60 additional pills.....that they would have to destroy the 30 pills....what a WASTE!!!! AND to top if off, NO APOLOGY, no coupon, NO respect for the waste of MY TIME to go back and correct THEIR MISTAKE. Bye, bye CVS, I'll shop elsewhere!!!! read more
