Asked another pharmacy about getting the RSV vaccine and was referred to the "Minute Clinic' on a Saturday but was told to make appointment online.. Finally managed to do so, but when I arrived for the appointment, and someone finally came over to me she said they weren't open Saturdays. Why was I able to make the appointment, I asked. She, who seemed to be the senior there, was exceptionally nasty and condescending as if it was my fault I made the appointment. Bad computer system, employee with a bad attitude and inefficient system, made my day a total waste of time since I don't live in the area. I don't like giving negative reviews, but for the sake of change, I am writing to advise folks to try a different CVS. The Bardonia CVS is one of the most poorly managed businesses I have experienced. Not only is there an indifferent, uncaring approach to working with customers - but they don't answer calls for well over 30 minutes. When asking for help, there is a shrugging of the shoulders indifference to the needs of the customer. One would get better service in a third-world country! If this was a singular experience, I would assume it might just be a personality-based issue, but after multiple experiences, it is clear the culture is reflective of poor management. Calling up CVS in Pearl River presented a night and day experience. Trust me - it's worth driving further to get more empathetic, efficient, and effective service! Someone from the head office should take a serious look at what is (not) happening at this location. It's presenting a serious reputational risk to your organization - and needs to be quickly mitigated. read more

I've used CVS for years and when I moved to the area it seemed like a no-brainer to have my prescriptions filled here. I tried for about a year to see if it got any better but I have officially given up and doing the mail delivery service. The staff are nice but it is wildly disorganized. In one visit I was told first they didn't have the medicine, then insurance wouldn't cover it; then ten min later they had the medicine and the insurance would cover. This was the consistent experience here and I started to have to set aside at least 30-45 minutes when I was picking up. No one has time for that. Word of advice, just do mail service through your insurance or go anywhere else. read more

I made an appointment for my booster shot almost 4 weeks ago as I was going on vacation. The morning of my appointment- I get a call from a Gina who is the General Manager of the Pharmacy. She called to say sorry that she has to cancel the appointment. Meanwhile- I received THREE texts to confirm this appointment. She said they ran out of vaccines. How do you run a business and not have enough on stock for the appointments YOU make? It seems like common sense (something Gina lacks) that as a GM, you would check stock to make sure you you have enough for your appointments. Did you just check the stock the day off? Sounds unprofessional. I wanted a resolution and get this fixed which Gina didn't have a clue. I'm very disappointed with the way she handled this and shocked to learn she was the GM. read more

I NEVER EVER say anything positive about CVS but I'm going to email them as well. The manager Michael just went above and beyond today. He is an amazing person. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. They send you would text to let you know there was an issue with one of your prescriptions. He tried to call numerous times and there was absolutely no response. Your visit the pharmacy they tell you they're reaching out to your doctor. In the meantime you still do not have your medication. Possibly the WORST CVS I have ever had the displeasure of using and that's saying a lot. I generally go at about 8:45am. The same useless cashier (Mayur) is there most of the time and I can never complete a simple transaction without an issue. Once upon a time I worked for a company that CVS bought out so my extracare card usually dings with an error that I'm not entitled to the employee discount anymore. I probably should get a new card but all my points and whatnot are tied to this one, and it still works like a normal one. Most associates don't even mention this...this guy gives me the side eye every time and I say "I know I don't get the employee discount" and he continues to look at me like he thinks I'm some scammer. Today I bought tampons, snacks and store brand ibuprofen. (Infer the obvious here) The shelf tag on the ibuprofen said it was on sale for $5.99. The ticket on the bottle itself said $8.99. It rang up for $9.29. I immediately pointed out to the cashier that it rang up wrong. He ignores me and fixates on the coupon I had for the tampons that had problems scanning. I ask several times "are you going to fix the ibuprofen" and it's like talking to a brick wall. I wasn't getting PMS ragey...it's a few days too early for that and if I was losing my shit on the guy I would understand his brick wall mentality...but I wasn't. I was just being persistent. I finally got pissed off and decided to file a complaint with CVS online because I was about to be late for work because of this charade. I guess I'm going to have to start going AFTER work when the cashiers are more competent. Or check out at the pharmacy where people actually seem to have a clue. read more

Took 2 days, 3 trips and 2 calls to store to fill a simple z pack. Ine employee said out of stock second employee says theres 8 on shelf. Watch 4 people in front of me on first visit all leave without their prescriptions also. Each one left in disgust with nothing good to say. This is by far the worst CVS in the area. They keep you on hold for over 25 minutes just to tell you if the prescription is ready or not, picking up frequently to tell you to hold. The wait in the store is just as bad. They move ridiculously slow when there are lines as if they don't think your time matters. When they do help you they're rude and don't care about you. Whenever I shop at CVS Bardonia I exit upset bc the store is v poorly stocked with an unhelpful, uncaring staff. Today I was fortunate to find an associate named Tyrell who helped me get an item I could not reach and he came to my assistance at the register. I am disabled and use a walker. Every step counts. Only self serve checkout registers were available with a line of 6 people. I asked the regular register associate if he could help me out and he said I had to use the self checkout. I told him that with my problem that was impossible. He refused to open a register and said I must self check out. Luckily Tyrell heard my upset and immediately opened a register and checked me out. I cannot believe how bad the service in this CVS has gotten. I picked up a prescription there today. My insurance company has always authorized a 90-day supply, but when I opened the bag, there was only a 30-day supply in there. It was impossible to reach the Pharmacy Department by phone. I tried twice and waited about 20 minutes each time, but nobody answered. In addition, there have been too many times that I was advised on line that a prescription is eligible for refill, but when I refill it, I am told it is out of stock. I also was given the wrong item one time not that long ago and had to go back to correct the situation. It never used to be like this in this pharmacy, but the situation here has become so annoying, I am seriously considering transferring my prescriptions to a different pharmacy. The pharmacists here are no longer competent. The pharmaceutical manager attempted to give me the wrong prescription, which would have been detrimental to me and my unborn child. I tried to tell him that I thought it was wrong; however, he insisted that was what the doctor prescribed. I refused the medicine. I called my doctor to clarify. My doctor almost jumped through the phone when I told her the mistake he made and his insistence that it wAs right. I would have ended up in the hospital if I had taken the prescription as he was trying to sell me. read more

CVS pharmacies haven't been the greatest in my experience but this one is the absolute worst by far. I have been without my prescription for weeks because they are busy playing phone tag with my doctor, putting me on hold and shifting me to other employees to repeat myself a million times, then I am told they will fill it, just to get a call back that the prescription isn't valid. One star is all this location deserves as far as going for your passport photo. Not only did I have to have my pics retaken at the passport agency because the CVS ones I was told were not any good, the CVS male staff who took the pic insisted that smiling was not allowed. I literally looked like I posed for a mug shot even after a couple of retakes. The wait was inconveniently long as well. Meanwhile at the Passport Office in Stamford CT, there was no such thing as the "you can't smile"ruling, and the pics were ready and already cropped before I got the chance to pay. Horrible horrible horrible!!!! The pharmacy is beyond awful. I showed up earlier to pick up my daughter's prescriptions. They were called in at 9am. They told me there weren't any in the system. I left and tracked down the doctor's office who called and confirmed they were here and waiting for pick up. I come back they STILL CAN'T FIND THEM!! THEY'RE RIGHT THERE ON THE SHELF!! I give her my medical card and she argues with me that it's not for a prescription plan. She had to check with two other people to confirm it's for prescriptions. I loathe incompetence. Pharmacy is rude !! Learn how to talk to people . Considering that half the people coming here are sick and usually not having a good day as it is, it would be nice to come across a staff that is a little more empathetic. My doctor called in a prescription and when I went to pick it up, there was a fee which meant my insurance wasn't used . When I asked if hey applied my insurance , his response was "I don't know " and told me my balance again.. I gave him my insurance card and he passed it to someone in the back that replied "she's gonna have to wait " . I totally get it , but this isn't the way to treat a customer . I started using this pharmacy because Bardonia drug closed. The awesome and friendly pharmacist from Bardonia Drug is at the CVS location and she's great to deal with. The staff around her is another thing. Rx is never ready even after I've be called and told its ready. I get robocalls from the pharmacy everyday even when I have no Rx's to pick up. I understand prescriptions go out of stock but at least call me and let me know before I drive all the way over from the other side of the county. My main issue is one particular pharmacy associate who clearly has no grasp of the English language. Since she deals with prescriptions that might be slightly important I would think?! I've even handed her my drivers license and she has brought me other people's Rx's!!! Sadly this happens all the time and I've seen her get really rude with elderly customers too. It's a shame that there's so many issue because I never had this issue with Bardonia Drug. Thank God I am moving out of state!!! Walgreens here I come!! read more
