At first I thought not being open 24 hours (a plus for CVS to be fair) would be a problem but it really isn't.

I've never had any issues in the store and the staff at the front are always offering to assist. They were particularly loaded up with Mother's Day gifts this weekend - balloons, flowers, plants, cards and more. You could probably walk in and find nice gifts and nobody would even realize you got them at a CVS. Something interesting I'll point out - my kids have sampled milk from many stores in the area and find that the milk carried by CVS is the creamiest.

Then, When I went to pay, I was going to use the self pay machine, but when I scanned it, it told me that I needed a representative to assist me in this purchase. One person happened to be behind the counter and when I asked her to assist me, she told me to use the self pay machine. When I told her that it said that I needed a representative, she sighed and gave me an eye roll. Then I told her that I needed a price for each one, I got another eye roll. Then I just asked her if she could ring me up and she did so, but didn't look too happy about it. All in all, it was not a great experience.

CVS (CVS Caremark) to pay a whopping $285 million for overcharging Medicare -- and lying about it: NCPA August 21, 2025 "In late June, CVS Caremark was ordered to pay the U.S. government at least $95 million in damages for overcharging Medicare for generic drugs between 2010 and 2016. This week, the court decided on the quantity of the penalty. Despite CVS' attempts to manipulate the facts on the ground, the court was clear: CVS had committed "serious" misconduct for financial gain, and that under the False Claims Act, it owed the U.S. government three times the minimum penalty, a total of $285 million."

I called to ask about a script I ordered online that gets ordered to CVS, since I was having an issue with the online service. She was very short and impatient with me as soon as she picked up, not even letting me explain why I called. Immediately getting the sort of vibe of her personality, I started giving flat replies because why am I going to keep be nice to someone who isn't being respectful to me? So then, she ended up having to ask me why I called, so she wasted both our time shutting me up in the start by not letting me initially explain why I called! Towards the end of my call, she literally told me in a hostile/annoyed tone after finally explaining why I called. "This isn't our problem, there is no script for you go to the person you called" Oh yeah, she also kept asking me over and over again the name of the company I ordered through (Wisp). I didn't get annoyed at her for repetitively asking me, yet she had 0 patience for me. I told her right before I hung up (in now a more hostile tone) "you don't have to be so rude to me. I was just calling to see if there was a chance this script got filled or not, goodbye." Just gave her back a nice dose of the tone she gave me. I cried after I hung up because this stressed me out. I somehow managed to stay strong and not cry when she picked up the phone initially. I think the power of the pain my UTI is giving me right now gave me a thicker skin I normally don't have. I was literally just checking to see if by chance there was still a script so I wouldn't have to get driven all the way to the pharmacy. I hope more people address this person. I've also gotten an impatient /standoffish man in the past, not as rude but still, why? Please stop hiring rude people CVS, especially for people that have special needs. While my autism isn't high functioning, we need people who are patient to deal with those who are higher functioning or have any sort of special needs. It's disgusting to treat people this way.

On New Year's Eve I had bronchitis it was 5 minutes after Franklyn Pharmacy had closed. But when I called, the pharmacist picked up. He said he would stay open until I could get there to pick up my prescription. You find big brand pharmacies doing that. I have a prescription for migraines that warehouses often run out of. They always track it down for me. I bought an elbow brace there and then wanted one for my other elbow. They had it in the store the next day. Because they are smaller, they make their own purchasing decisions. They don't have to go through layers of red tape or through corporate to get things in. The people that work there are friendly, know me by name, but respect my privacy. Whenever I call, a person picks up, not an automated voice mail system. They also have a pretty good greeting card selection so it's a good place to go when you need to pick out a card for occasions. Plenty of free parking in their parking lot. Really glad I switched to Franklyn Pharmacy, only wish I'd done it sooner.

With a tagline like "getting better every day," I guess they know that they need to improve. The staff at the Starbucks also seems less trained and knowledgeable than previously and the people working at the checkout lines seem like they don't know what they're doing in general. This may be because the staff is completely new, but then management needs to put in better training. They also didn't seem very accommodating, when I had a coupon that wasn't applied to my receipt and I didn't realize but brought it back, the checkout person said they couldn't do anything but didn't check with a manager. I come back here sometimes because of the prices and there's never a crowd (which probably says something). However, I don't like it that much and hope that they improve. They should also bring back the self-checkout lines. Why get rid of them? Overall, I don't think it's a HUGE step down from A&P, which wasn't that great either, but there's definitely a lot of room for growth.
